Minnesota Vikings Discussion: Skoloholics 11/3/2026 Tuesday Daily Thread

Herbert-1789408749.8738

Happy Tuesday, and welcome to Skolohlics. No news on the trade front so far. Like they say no news is sometimes just no news. If this is Teasley being active before the trade deadline, I would hate to walk in on him being inactive. One would think he was dead. I know bringing in a running back would not tip the scales much. But, if we were to pull off a RB and a QB that fits the system, that would tip the scales. I know it has been said here that there is no QBs worth trading for. I disagree, if we could pull off a Jones/
Taylor deal that would tip the scales. If we could trade Murray and a DT along with a 3rd to get them, I would be happy as a clam. Jones is familiar with the system and would probably come cheaper than what it would take to get someone like Cousins or Mac Jones.

Don’t forget to check out the comments section, it is where the real action is.

QOTD:

Would trading for Cousins, if it is even possible, make sense? Honestly his biggest drawback was his contract. With our defense we would be contenders with Kirko.

Let us know in the comments.

SKOLOHOLICS PICK ‘EM LEAGUE UPDATE #8

The 20 hours I put in researching my picks paid off. I was the high scorer this week. But I believe in my process so much, I want to share it with everyone. It’s all about knowing as much as possible before making picks. For three easy payments of $99.95, my process can be yours. I call it “Picking your KNOWS.”

DE was not far behind me, though, only three points separated us. From this I surmise he only spent 17 hours researching his picks.

Overall, Mjolnir still claims the top spot. Only he can wield the hammer of first place. Everyone else wields the screwdriver of shame because we constantly keep screwing ourselves with bad picks.

PA is close in second, though. He is only seven points out of first. Can he dig deep and close the gap? Yes, I think he can. Most GAP stores are open until 8 p.m., so if he gets there at around 7:55, he should be able to close them, no problem.

Third through fifth is TIGHT. Only 1 point separates peterplaysbass, JacksonVike and Bowbunch. I haven’t seen this much clustering since I worked on a grape farm.

I made that up. I have never worked on a grape farm. I worked on a strawberry farm once, though. My coworker chewed tobaccy, and one day I said, “I would like to try that.”

He said, “Have you tried it before?”

“No.”

“I don’t think you should then…”

“Oh come on.”

So he gave me some. I tried it. A buzz hit in roughly 30 seconds. Five minutes after that, I was bent over, heaving my guts out. Lesson learned.

Despite my first place finish this week, it did jack all for moving me out of the purgatory of 6th place. I have been in 6th place for over a month now surely. If I could put together back-to-back good weeks, I could do some damage, however. Despite being in 6th place, I’m only 8 points from being 3rd.

Surly and DE are stuck in the same boat. They have been in 7th and 8th place forever, as well. This is where discipline needs to kick in. It’s hard to keep going when one can’t seem to move. Yet, to keep going is what separates the winners from the losers in the long run. I maintain that I can win any race I am in if there is no time limit. I will camp out for weeks if I must. I often have to do that anyway when my wife is mad at me.

Meanwhile, everyone got the Bills, Bengals, Bucs, Jax, Rams and Washington games correct. How about the Bucs not completing a pass all game and winning. That is an impressive stat. I loved the replay that shows Mayfield running down the field to block for his RB. Baker is erratic, but fun.

Everyone got the Dallas game wrong. Man, Dallas cannot get out of their own way. It is fun to watch. Since they fleeced us on the Walker trade, good riddance. On the other hand, we got fleeced so bad, the league actually had to change rules. Why are the Vikings like that? Regardless, never trust Jimmy Johnson.

We didn’t really have any Genius Picks this week. We will combine the Genius Picks with the Traitor Picks since only DE and Surly took the Lions. I honestly have no idea why I didn’t take the Lions myself. I was 95 percent sure they’d win. I guess I decided to give the Vikes the benefit of the doubt, and it was certainly a winnable game. To my mind, the Vikings offense actually had to work to suck that much to lose.

Only one Iconoclast Pick. Surly was the only one to take the Dolphins over the Patriots.

I was surprised by how many people took the Seahawks over the Bears. Initially, I thought I maybe I was an idiot for picking the Bears, but I still believe the Bears are better than us. They got madman Ben Johnson. Williams is fun to watch. And now they got Simmons on defense.

Now…what to do with the Vikes pick this week. Not enough data at this time. I’m curious if Kyler will be designated to have a bad hammy and if we will see Wentz this week. I think Wentz is better at involving Jefferson and would improve our odds.

GET YOUR PICKS IN BEFORE THURSDAY’S GAME!

Florio said it right this morning…Vikings are going to viking like they always do. Dog paddle through the season, maybe make the playoffs, maybe not make the playoffs finish mid tier and move on to next year and make their money.

After 50 yrs of watching this same movie over and over it’s time to move on if they don’t make some aggressive moves to fix the offense. This BS of always plan for a future that never comes is nothing more than keep fans engaged with “a chance every year” strategy but never doing enough when you have a legitimate shot.

Bears made their statement before the trade deadline and then on the field against the SB Champs at their house. They imo are the NFC top contender as things stand now. It can change as the season plays out but right now they are on a mission.

Vikings on the other hand….

Yep, the Bears looked good last night. That coach has the team playing well. We are in trouble.
