Welcome to Skoloholics! Wow, another close game! The Minnesota Vikings outplayed the New En`gland Patriots on this beautiful Thanksgiving evening, and walked away with a 33-26 victory. The win brings the Vikings record to 9-2, and after the Lions’ loss today, the Vikings have all but clinched the NFC North. Here are all the stats and highlights, courtesy of ESPN.
Like i said, the game wasn’t easy, it was back & forth all evening with lots of lead changes. The Vikings and Dalvin Cook were NOT able to get much going on the ground, so they had to rely on the passing game. The O line did a much better job of protecting Kirk Cousins, and it paid off handsomely. Kirk finished the game completing 30 out of 39 passes for 299 yards, 3 touchdowns and 1 interception. Justin Jefferson was absolutely lights-out again, coming down with 9 catches for 139 yards and a touchdown. Adam Thielen chipped in with 9 catches of his own, many of which were HUGE, for 61 yards and a touchdown.
The defense was not much fun to watch for much of the game, to be honest. The Patriots offense, which is not a great offense, ran and passed all over our defense for 3 and a half frustrating quarters. Thankfully, the Vikings defense FINALLY woke up at the end, got some big stops, and did enough to get the save and secure the win for the Vikings.

It isn’t often that the team a fan cheers for is sitting at 9-2. I’m enjoying this season. It’s all but guaranteed that the Vikes are in the playoffs. They have things to work on, but hell, work on things and try to get hot at the right time. That’s all it takes. Remember the 2008 and 2012. This team is better than both of those teams.

I would never cheer for the Patriots, but I did enjoy seeing Devante Parker play well tonight. Another very talented guy whose career got derailed by injuries.
Yeah, liked him coming out of college. He was Teddy’s go-to, wasn’t he?
Yes, when he had to have a catch, although Teddy had several other very good receivers. Miami held onto Parker for a long time, because when he’s healthy, he’s very good, but he was injured a lot.
Health is huge. Lots of talented guys had their careers derailed by injury.
I put Teddy in that category. I still think of what might have been if he hadn’t gone down prior to 2016. Damn.

Teddy and some of his team mates did a big turkey give away in the park where local kids from his old neighborhood play football. He said it was the first time he’s been home for Thanksgiving since he went pro.

Great rebound win after that shit show last week. Great team win. I was wrong about this game, I thought Dalvin would be the key, but Bilichick focused on shutting him down, and they did exactly that. Glad Kirk, JJ, and company were able to take advantage.
I think there were too many missed blocking assignments. How many guys were unblocked at the point of attack?
I think another huge part was they seemed to know exactly when we would run. It was almost like they had a run blitz on every time.

The defense drives me batty sometimes. Pat Pete however is playing brilliantly. The second to last play were he picked the guy up and didn’t let him go out of bounds was a very smart play.

All the company was gone before the game, so that was good. I prefer to watch the game where I can hear it. But it was good to have all the company earlier in the day.
