I’ll bet there won’t be a single article written about a rookie that says “this guy sucks”. All you’ll hear from now till the end of training camp is how great they’re looking and how excited the team is about them. The media will feed us a steady diet of hype sammiches from now till September.

This is from a national network not local so it’s less expected.

I did see a handful of reports for differnt players… Bijan was one that they aren’t “as good as they were drafted to be”

it’s all opinion but when a National org writes an article it carries a little more weight than homerville

You can believe that if you wish… the Vikings though could have taken the very good deal he offered (per reporting) but they chose not to.

As I said, Cousins will not allow a GM to control him. No trade clause and guaranteed money (regardless of the amount) are baseline for him. If the Vikings can’t accept that, then there will be no new contract after 2023. That’s fine by the way for both parties.

GF’s comment about sexual abuse training got me thinking. Did I tell you guys I got served (with a subpoena not a tennis ball) at work a couple of months ago? (At my home campus in Billings the subpoena process goes through the legal department so you just get a phone call from one of the paralegals who forwards the preliminary details). The rad secretary told me a deputy was waiting by appointment desk, needed to give me something, I thought what could this be? Walked out and she handed me the subpoena, explained that I should call the number closer to the date, etc. I became aware that the waiting room filled with patients and family members was watching my every move. Dumbass.

When she served me on the spouse, I wisely told the secretary to just send her back to my office.

Alleged child abuse case. State calls me to testify as to custody/nature of injuries.

The deputy? I assume she wanted to keep the process as confidential as possible, and there is no legal department here at this small rural hospital so she had no choice but to serve me personally. I was just stupid in not realizing what a spectacle it creates when a doctor gets handed something from a deputy. I’m sure the rumor mill was buzzing.

Yeah that would suck. I was subpoenaed years ago when I worked in group homes about an allegation of abuse by another staff member similar to this, but they called me and told me they’d be serving me a subpoena to testify though didn’t state specifics so I was like hey, I’ll just swing by the police station.

BullPen gave up 1 in the 6th and 1 in the 8th.
Then with a placed batter on 2nd in the 10th all it takes in a single.
Reliever got the 1st two outs and the 3rd batter got a single = ball game.

Not sure that there is much blame it’s not like there was a meltdown.
Twinkies should have gotten more than 2 runs in 10 innings.

‘some poor kid’

The Teacher found out that one of her students (1st grade) was in a foster home and being raped nightly by another foster kid.
The foster mother ‘deflected’ by saying the school wasn’t doing enough to support the kid.
The Teacher had to be interview by CPS just to tell them she knew nothing about the situation and the foster mom never asked for any additional help.

Often the closer you look the uglier it gets.

The foster parent should immediately have taken steps to remove the raper and is guilty of neglect. The teacher should have immediately reported it CPS as a mandated reporter, if she didn’t, she’s actually guilty of a crime as well.

The Foster Mom deflected when it came out. Supposedly it was going on in a closet at night.

As a general rule The Teacher has to report anything that raises a red flag.
She reported to CPS earlier this year when a student told her he couldn’t get any help with homework because he was at home alone every evening (again 1st grade).

When the parents found out they filed a complaint against The Teacher for it. The Admin staff kindly apologized on her behalf.

One of the programs I run is a back to work transition for convicts. Recidivism rates are drastically lower for those that come through it, but my team can pretty much tell immediately who is going to go back w/in 90 days. First question we ask them at these transition fairs where they’re all pretty close to getting out is what’s your plan, where are you going to live, their answer tells me if their going back or serious about staying out.

For you guys that play golf and were talking about that video suggesting throw the club. I’m no pro, and certainly free information is well……, so take this as a different thought. I think that suggestion will actually make your swing worse. Most high cappers actually “cast” the club and asking them to throw the club is asking for a mess. To me. it’s far better to think like “allow” yourself to release the club properly. And it you don’t have the club in the right position, all the release in the world is worthless.Release will happen automitically if you “let” it happen. Most don’t “let” this happen and they instead let the hit impulse happen, try to “hit” (release) it and screw it up. There is no way in the one second or less from end of backswing thru impact that you can time you release properly – far or thin shots all day. So what’s the answer

  1. Take a PW, hold it lightly, take it back to three o’clock. Now, just forget your hands and swing you arms down and forward to nine o’clock. Do this back and forward 4 or five times. If you did this correctly, the club released properly (you simply allowed it- actually gravity and cintrifugal force) and the club should have grazed the ground at about the same spot.
  2. .Now do the same drill, 3 to 9, except from three “throw the club this time. How’s that feel. Did you even come close to graziing the ground in the same spot?
  3. Now, lets try 2. but from where you in real live are probably starting from from the top. Take the club back to 3, but now pull you left hip forward like we are all told to do. I’ll bet your hands went OUT several inches. Now if you try to do 2, you’ll completely miss the ball. And even with one and a good Natural release you are going to hit a dead pull.

Answer – hold club lightly and learn to swing the club FREELY without tension back and forth. A great, in fact perfect release will happen naturally in you simply LET it happen and NOT try to make it happen. But hand and hand with this. the club Must first start down and then Forward from the proper position.
Long winded sorry. Didn’t know how to explain better. Again, just my 2 cents.

Second alzheimer drug? So there’s something other than L-Dopa now? My grandmother had parkinsons late in life and at one seemed pretty obviously overmedicated, at least to me in my layperson experience with only being certified in discus/moses and not a real medical professional. She was having paranioa and confusion, like one time she threw sprite on people in an attempt to bless them and save them from their impending damnation, as well as strange movements of her head in like circular ways and she could never be still, she was always moving some part of her upper body and not like the shaking from parkinsons.

Parkinsonian movements come in many varieties. Some have the constant shaking palsy, some have severe body rocking, some are stone stiff.

The addition of paranoia and confusion to Parkinson’s is very common, as Parkinson’s is quite often accompanied by dementia (3/4 of people with Parkinson’s will develop dementia). “Parkinson’s dementia” is less disabling than Alzheimer’s, but Parkinson’s with Lewy Body dementia is very disabling.

Very sorry that she had to go through that.

I’d heard this many years ago, but was just reminded of it by a comment from a co-worker.

“Lord willing and the Creek don’t rise…..” isn’t about water.

Some old historical guy, in charge of the Bureau of Indian Affairs, was summoned to Washington DC by the president. He would have to travel through the territory of the Creek indians, who were known to rise up and attack white people found on their lands.

So, he wired back to DC “I will be there on such and such date, Lord willing and the Creek don’t rise.”

So much fun today.

Sat noticed front outside faucet was dripping. Went to tighten the valve and it came apart and gushed water. Managed to get it stopped and back to ‘only dripping’. Called the plumbers I use Monday morning, and they came out that afternoon. Said the valve/regulator/hose bib/related pipes are all worn out and need to be replaced, $1,300.

Oh and they couldn’t shut the water all the off at the meter as it was old, so Tuesday got the water district out to check meter/shutoff. They cleared the Angle Stop of crud from a street repair that last fall. Now that water can be fully shut off the plumber is back to complete the repair (they couldn’t do the repair with water still coming in). So plumbers are off getting required parts/water district has come and turned the water off (plumbers not allowed as they would be responsible if anything breaks).

Once the plumbers are back and complete the repair I have to call the water district back to turn the water back on and then I will be back to normal.

@Ahh the joys of home ownership.@

That was my first thought. I guess it depends on how much pipe needs to be replaced? BTW the valve and bib are synonymous words, not sure what the “regulator” is. I had a leaky faucet at our place in Rochester and initially just wanted to swap it out but the stem to water pipe connection was not in a place I had tools to get to and I feared I would break the pipe torquing on the bib so just ended up doing a repair. Replacement if you can put a pipe wrench on the frost free connection to water is easy. Even easier if it is a shark bite.

$1300 yikes.

Price is high but this is Calif, company does good work and they respond quickly and back up their work, willing to pay a bit more for that.

The valve is below the regulator and the hose bib is above it.
Water district workers said the same thing about all of it needing replacement.

It is also where the outside water feeds into the house so a 2nd set of pipes and valve feed into it as well.

More complicated than I can handle and after having to gut/rebuild 2.5 room last year when the shower drain leaked I am not taking any chances.

You should get a medal for living in SoCal. Nice to visit, nice to leave.

After my experience in Rochester nursing that stupid faucet with gentle repairs (I was in same boat no shutoff between my main shutoff and that faucet, but at least my main shutoff worked) I was poking my head up in the ceiling panels of the houses we looked at in Billings (I refuse to pay home inspectors as they have zero liability for their reports). The one we bought had mucho shutoffs. When I did the plumbing for our shouse I put shutoffs everywhere. Nothing puts the clamps on your balls more than doing what you think is an easy plumbing project and having to shut off the main water supply…three hours later and two trips to the hardware store one’s wife gives a rather steely glare when you suggest worst case scenario we’ll stay in a hotel tonight and just go poop at the neighbors.

They called the valve a ‘ball valve’, a traditional ‘wheel’ type where you just turn it.
The Hose bib is where they hose connects to the pipes with a shut off there.
Regulator is there to control the pressure between the city water pipes and the house.

Ball valve with a wheel? That doesn’t sound right. A ball valve typically has a handle and is quarter turn on and off. With a wheel you are normally looking at a gate valve. Probably doesn’t matter, just curious.

That reminds me, I need to exercise my plumbing chops and put a hose bibb on the end of a 1″ black poly pipe I have coming up through the floor of my shop. I put a curb stop outside next to the hydrant (the doodads that drain water at the base that you see especially near wells and in barnyards) so I can shut that water off if I desire,,,but it will be nice for spraying off vehicles in there. I’ll do some redneck wood mount for the spigot.

I love little plumbing chores, feel a sense of accomplishment.

I changed the oil for the first time on my outboard, the maintenance section also said to change the gear oil and no matter how hard I looked couldn’t find the drain for the gear oil…a little googling later I realized that an outboard with a jet doesn’t have gear oil you just grease the impeller after every use. In a couple of years I’ll drop the impeller and sharpen the blades with my angle grinder, should be fun.

My go to guys didn’t want to fart around with a Vulva so I called a dealer in BIL, gotta love female service advisors (I’m extremely unwoke). “Yeah we’ll have to take a look at it if it is the sensor we’ll have to order it you know how shipping is probably take a couple of weeks” I asked why a Vulva dealer wouldn’t carry O2 sensor didn’t get an answer and then asked if they could like order it in advance…”Well you’d have to pay for it and there’d be no refund” Just for fun I asked if I could bring in my own aftermarket sensor and got the satisfying “Um I’d have to check with the service manager on that”.

Now MDU wants to hike rates for electricity in Montana by 20% for residential customers.

Until the electric companies complain about losing money.

In Delaware, the Utility Commission just allowed the Power Companies to stop allowing carryover credits for solar use.
Which means if your solar gives you more credits than your electric use, you can’t carryover the excess.

They also now charge “distribution” charges rather than electric use charges.

Power Companies will not be allowed to go bankrupt.

I get Hunter more than Z…because Z turned down more to come here and now he wants more?

What to pay Hunter and how long is the real question.

Doesn’t really fit the mold of the Kwesi signings.

Part of me thinks he’s trying to clean out the “Zimmer” guys.

Piece by piece.

Not throwing the baby out with the bathwater but little by little.

Next year when Harry is probably gone…that defense will have really nothing left of the Zim years.

Relatively young, and injured.

PERFECT Kwesi signing.

Nah he’s going to be 29 this year.

Not old but not 25-26 either.

What do you pay him? How much?

Hard decision – he DID play a full season last year, but he didn’t put up elite numbers.

Granted, he was asked to do things differently from what he’s used to, but was he asked to contain more, or was he just ineffective at getting to the QB?

Hand in the dirt, or standing up – once the ball is snapped, getting to the QB is getting to the QB.

I would give him a 2-year incentive-laced prove-it deal, base no more than $10 mil. Prove it, and renegotiate. Another year of meh, see ya.

10 is a little low for me… might be more insulting than anything.

I’d be around 15-18m on a short deal like you say with lots of incentives.

I’m telling you though that they may not resign JJ. I still think they likely get something done, but it’s not out of the question crazy after drafting Addison like some people on here and twitter think. Through it out on Twitter and got roasted but alot of those people have small peanut size brains.

We’ll see but I put the odds around 70/30 JJ gets extension in purple but not an auto-lock

No way. 70/30 at best.

Drafting Addision spiked those numbers. See my other reasoning why too.

Longer if they tag him.

IF we could get a few 1sts for him, I could see him leaving after this year. I mean everyone said there is no way we are trading Moss, at the time we traded him.

I don’t think its impossible but no where near 30% likely as of today.

a 35mil WR is a luxury that’s for sure..but it is also a great safety blanket for a rookie qb.

I think a big tell will be what they do with Kirk this offseason. If nothing done by season, I think he’s probably gone.

Then that means we have the loser 5th round QB running the show in 2024, another rookie, or Nick Mullens. Either of those options signal 3-4 years of suck, so at that point…. is it worth paying JJ 30mil+ per year?

Plug and play almost any qb.

If JJ is tying his contract to what happens with Cousins, he is a complete fool.
