Well, the first batch of Kwesi Adofo-Mensah’s draft picks is looking pretty good overall. In fact, according to PFF, the Vikings had one of the best performing rookies in the NFL in week one. Guard Ed Ingram compiled a PFF grade of 79.3 on Sunday, making him the fourth-highest graded rookie in the NFL last week. Now, as with any grading system, take this with a grain of salt, as none of these grades are a “be-all end-all” gauge of a player’s ability. However, it is nice to hear positive news regarding our O-line.
Prior to last year, all we normally heard was bad news when discussing the O-line. That started to change a couple years ago, as O’Neill became a solid starter almost immediately, then Darrisaw and Cleveland began to do the same last year, and continue to do so this year. With O’Neill, Darrisaw, and Cleveland all looking to be solid solutions, and Ingram getting some initial praise, we just MAY have viable solutions for 4 of the 5 spots on the O-line. @I’m still waiting for Bradbury to blossom.@
Does this mean that our offensive line woes are over completely? Nah. BUT, there is a lot more reason to be optimistic about our O line than we’ve had in a very long time in Minnesota, probably since 2013 or so. For now, I’ll take this bit of good news, be happy about it, and hope for continued improvement from Ingram and the rest of the O-line in the weeks, months, and years to come. SKOL!!!!
Let’s gooooo!
He headed 31 in pass protection which is about one step below dogshit, let’s hope he gets better!
Lets see if he can build upon last weeks success next week. Without the sack this time!
Hoping so, just having our O line look competent is such an improvement. The fact that they’re also VERY young is reason for hope, they should continue to improve.
Improve next season and be glorious in 24 hopefully.
