It’s finally game day, and welcome to Skoloholics! Join in the conversation as we cheer for our beloved Vikings as they travel to Gravy Town to take on the hated Packers. Kickoff is at noon central time, and they’re predicting a pretty decent day weather-wise with lots of sun and a high of 40.
It’ll be a much different Vikings offense than we’ve become accustomed to seeing, as Kirk Cousins will not be under center. The Jaren Hall experiment begins today, so it’ll be very interesting to see how he performs. I do hope that the change in QB will force the Vikings to implement a semblance of a run game. The run game has been poor to horrible for most of the year, and if they want their rookie QB to be able to succeed, they will have to become less one-dimensional on offense.
The defense needs to keep doing what they’ve been doing. They’ve shouldered much of the load this season, and with Kirk out for the year, the Vikings will need the defense even more. Also, let’s hope that Greg Joseph can go through the game without spiking himself.

Dobbs is kind of an ugly fellow. My wife says he looks like a cancer survivor.
Ouch lol. Yeah hes goofy but he’s a baller and has moxie. Unlike 8
He’s ripped too.
I live in Wisc, so I couldn’t see the Viking game because Packers. I listened to the game and because the Packer game got over, I got to see the winning touchdown. Now it’s time to use NFL+ I paid for and watch the replay. Go Vikes!
Here cancel your NFL + and save some money.

That was a crazy, but fun game.
So was the Dallas/Philly game.
‘Dallas/Philly’
I was on team meteor for that game.
Of course, but it was entertaining football.
Cincinnati just went up two TDs on Buffalo.
1:45 left in the half.
Could somebody please beat the Eagles, UGH!
I just realized that today is the first game where we’ve scored 30+
I credit Dobb’s legs for keeping drives alive and Atlanta’s D for sucking.
And no Kirk…hmmmmm, was the doom and gloom about him no longer being a Viking and the franchise falling apart wrong? I think it was
Irv Smith Jr has a breaking out.
2 catches 18 yds and a TD.
impressive.
We all knew it was a matter of time. @Hes the GOAT.@
I think this might be my favorite Vikings team since 2009. Not because they’ll have that success but because they’re so likable. Flores is the “MVP” so far this season. But KOC is keeping them focused and KAM is doing his job. SKOL.
A lot of heart on this team.
KOC seems to have them all buying in.
Given last years games they know anything is possible.
Down 33, no problem.
On the road against the Bills, no problem.
etc, etc.
They’re easy to cheer for, that’s for sure. Lots of reason for optimism.
Previous record was Andrew Luck.
@RapSheet
#Texans QB CJ Stroud just set the NFL record for the most passing yards by a rookie quarterback with 470… with a game-winner.
Oh no. I hate injuries.
@RapSheet
#Giants QB Daniel Jones is feared to have suffered a significant knee injury, potentially a torn ACL based on the initial tests, per me and @MikeGarafolo
. He’ll have an MRI to learn the full picture.
Imagine Zimmer in this spot
I am getting into the KOC is a great offensive mind camp.
Didn’t the Rams/McVey/KOC do something like a few years ago?
Gave the QB instructions right up until the headsets were shut down for the play.
I remember we were waiting until the last few seconds to show the D formation in order to counter that.
His play calls have really gotten better after losing JJ.
He’s developed a lot more short and intermediate routes which has put us into a lot better position on third downs.
Not so many 3 and outs.
”We need to run it more….. “
Wow.
Any update on what is wrong with Akers??
Achilles.
Awesome
Donesky.
Raiders putting a smack down on the Giants.
LOL
Wow. McDaniels must really be an idiot.
Ari Meirov
@MySportsUpdate
Before firing Josh McDaniels, the Raiders had a team meeting where players directed their frustrations at McDaniels, and unloaded on him.
McDaniels had Antonio Pierce speak on his behalf, and Pierce brought up the Giants’ ’07 team that beat the undefeated Patriots, explaining how that team believed they could beat anyone. Pierce said the Raiders need that mindset.
The players all loved it, but McDaniels didn’t.
McDaniels told Pierce when everyone left: “Don’t ever talk about the Patriots like that.”
That’s when everyone saw how divided the building was, and owner Mark Davis wanted Pierce as his HC.

So the Vikings won a game without Kirk?
Thats unpossible.
4-0 without JJ.
@dump all our good players and we will be undefeated@
Are wide receiver wins a thing?
Must be, at least as much as QB wins.
I have seen people calling for a JJ trade since we are undefeated without him.
I just remember people saying that without Cousins, we wouldn’t win, even though QB wins are not a stat.
I remember hearing that Cousins was part of the team that wins.
But I guess people hear what they want.
He is part of the team, but if Cousins wasnt playing on the team, the team would lose.
I believe chance of winning were better with Cousins but nothing is guaranteed either way.
But I have avoided the debate as their is no winning with either side of the KDS fight.
The reality is Kirks time here is done and he’s long over due to move on, and this franchise is LONG over due for a legit young franchise QB. There is no debate to be had about that.
I sent and checked out Rick Sosa on Twitter.
He’s embraced Dobbs.
I’m a little disappointed.
I wanted another Spinosa melt down
‘He’s embraced Dobbs’
That must be awkward.
Unless Dobbs swings that way.
Not that there is anything wrong with that.
LOL.
Tune, Dobbs replacement in Arizona had 58 yrds passing, two Ints, O TDs, and a 20.8 QBR.
Ouch.
Don’t tell Mick.
My lips are sealed.
Yikes. I’m not a believer in Kyler Murray either.
Wow, what a game! That was so much fun. You could tell how much heart the whole team put into that win. So entertaining to watch. Dobbs was amazing having pretty much just walked in the building. I don’t want to think about what happens next or how it affects the draft or any of that stuff. I just want to savor this win for a while.
I also really enjoyed the C.J. Stroud game, he’s special.
That was a blast to watch.
It really was, one of those games I’ll remember for a long time.
In other news, Daniel Jones, having just returned from neck injury, had his knee buckle and is out. Tyrod Taylor is on IR with rib injury. An undrafted rookie is playing QB.
Great game to watch!
100%. Still savoring how fun it was.
Tough weekend for the ‘Tank for Caleb’ crew.
They will probably just reset their narrative this week.
It’s odd, because the offense wasn’t what was carrying this team as of late. The O was only putting up 21 points a game, the defense has been more key than the offense.
That being said, it would really help if the Vikings would learn how to run the ball.
‘it would really help if the Vikings would learn how to run the ball.’
less likely now with Akers gone.
Dobbs/Hall can ‘run the ball’ so they might have to be it unless Chandler breaks out but he would require blocking.
NFL is called ‘Not For Long’ for a reason, we have no idea what we will get going forward.
Please, do share who was saying to tank for Caleb since Kirk went down. By my count its no one.
Wooooooohoooooo!
Fuuuuuuuck you Taylor Heineke! Revenge deez nuts!
🖕😎🖕
That was a gritty, gutty, win on the road against a motivated opponent in a hostile environment.
Josh Dobbs – despite the mistakes – was a cold-blooded killer. Fresh off the plane. What a pro.
Need to see more Jaren Hall – hope he recovers quickly.
Danielle Hunter was a monster again. Pressure, TFL’s, Straight tossed Jonnu Smith into the run lane on an outside stretch at the goal line and reset the LoS by 4 yards.
Last week after beating FTP I ate some crackers and cheese.
I want some Chic Fil A (which I haven’t had in ages) but they’re closed on Sundays.
So I’m going to settle for peeing on their bushes.
Happy Sunday!
FTP

Skol!!!
🔨🔨🔨🔨🔨🔨
Awesome! Lol
Now we get to argue about who will be the starter next week.
Assuming Dobbs, then Mullens as the backup. Pretty sure Hall will be held out unless he clears protocols by Tues.
It will be like this:
Got to start Dobbs. He looked like the second coming of Patrick Mahomes out there.
Having this convo right now. Curious to see what everyone thinks. Hall looked sharp in his one good series, Dobbs got the W but had some bonehead decisions to go along with some great plays.
I don’t think it’s a slam-dunk decision. I could see it going either way.
Be interesting. Dobbs seemed to have the hot hand.
Depends when he clears protocol, no prep this week for Hall means Dobbs starts.
Unless of course Mullins is suddenly healthy (doubt it or we would have heard something by now).
I am just praying that Hall is cleared by next Sunday so Mannion won’t see the field.
When does Mullens get back though,
Eligible next week.
If he will is unknowable.
If he able to play back up over mannion I will consider that a win at this point.
I think it’s important to find continuity at QB early.
Dobbs – with a full grasp of the playbook and pretty good weapons at his disposal could be successful imo.
Hall – looked good in limited action. Mobile. Want to see more. Conventional wisdom says he’s still a a rookie 5th rounder and he’s not the best chance to win. Not saying I agree.
Dobbs has a 2017 Case Keenum-y feel to him to me….
Neither will have a running game at their disposal – they will be the running game basically.
‘I think it’s important to find continuity at QB’
Agreed, tell Murphy to back off and we might be able to find some soon.
Cousins out for the season, Hall out probably for the week, Mullins is unknown, Mannion is known but horribad, Ackers (the emergency QB) looks to be out for the season.
I suspect Dobbs next week with unknown back up, hopefully Hall/Mullins/Manion in that order.
After that we will see who is left standing.
They might have to sign somebody just to be able to run practice this week
We did have the USFL guy and the Gopher on the practice squad for a minute.
At least they know what the uniforms look like.
Colt McCoy in line 1
SLOTERGOAT
Dobbs seemed to make most of the mistakes right away.
Once he settled in, he looked pretty sharp back there.
I’m good with either, but I bet Mullen’s wife is bitching up a storm about him getting injured and probably having to move again.
Agreed.
You don’t sit A guy after he delivers the game winning drive.
Hall’s time will come.
But Dobbs earned it.
Not going that far. Dobbs looked very good at times, and he looked like someone new to the team(understandable) also.
It was just very refreshing to see two different QBs able to extend plays with their ability to move around in the collapsing pocket and run when needed.
How about Dobby and Hall?
Both came ready to play.
A great Team win!
SKOL Vikings!!
Wow, what a gutsy win! Glad I could watch the 4th quarter. Dobbs did a great job, whole team did a great job.
Great win, great job by Dobbs considering everything.
I don’t give a shit, you go on the road and get a win after your backup QB (who was starting his first game) gets knocked out on the first series. Great team win.
Goddamn right! Love it. Atlanta D is solid. Kept fighting. Kept taking knockout punches and losing guys and kept battling.
Absolutely !!! Great win!
100% thats the most fun iv had all season. And I might be biased because I finally got a group out in a bar with other Vikings fans. Good stuff. Having fun
That’s a wrap. Great fucking game by Dobbs, come in with no time in the offense & get the job done. Fucking beautiful
Agreed. I hated the safety he took when our O line decided to not block, but man. Dobbs showed up the rest of the game.
Good win.
Vikes win!!
Woohoo!!
Ball Game!!
I fucking love this team.
Come on D!!
Absolutely amazing!
@I called it!!@
Oh my God!!
WooHoo!!!
TD!!!’
TD
Lapdance hit him early
THERE WE FUCKING GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I’m liking Dobbins
22 yd scramble
1st down at the 12
C’mon Dobbins
Can still run the ball
Wow, fucking Addison is a beast.
Wow!
Mattison for 48?
Yahoo feed showed 48 then 47 and now 3 yd Mattison just before 2m warning.
Alright Dobbs, time to make a name for yourself.
Damn, that sucks
Oh no, achilles again.
Atlanta got away with a stupid stupid penalty. Could have cost them.
D gassed.
decent TO.
Leave time on the clock for the winning drive.
3rd and 3 again, need to hold them here.
Need to hold them to 3.
3rd and 3.
Need to stop them right now.
3 and 8,
need stop here please and thank you.
Never mind,
too much to ask.
3rd and 8 big down here
Roy makes a nice play!
