Staffers working for Kamala Harris are revolting over the inferior quality of lunches on Air Force Two, the vice president’s plane.
It comes after news emerged that their counterparts in the president’s office, who travel on Air Force One, are served filet mignon and other hot delicacies on gold-rimmed plates, accompanied by cold beers.
Ms Harris’s staff say they get soggy sandwiches in brown paper bags – and no booze.
I have no words…
@the struggle is real@
Balance
Well Ricky Fowler finally shot a low round. Shot 6 under today to climb all the way up to a tie for 7th. Had an 8 footer for birdie on the last hole after making eagle the hole before, but just missed. Good day for him though and happy to see it.
Missed that…glad he recovered his sub round form. I’m watching the Women’s NCAA basketball final. Clark from Iowa may be the best pure shooter I’ve ever seen. Only player with her auto flush from beyond the arch is Curry. Clarke averages 35’ for her shooting and the 3 line is 30’. Yeah she’s that good. 40+ the past two games one being a triple double and broke multiple records this tourney.
Interesting round… he bogeyed two par 5’s and missed a 6 and half foot birdie putt and of course the 8 footer on the last hole. That’s four shots. That would have put him at 10 under for the round, 12 under for the tournament, and currently tied for 2nd. So close to a truly magical round.
BAWAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!Lol 🤪😂
Irv Smith jr! 😂🤦♂️
I laughed out loud…BREAKING OUT!
Mock-A-Lishous
A. No idea why you would go Safety, and B. Branch won’t be there at 25.
Because Harry is done next year, Cine is no guarantee post gruesome injury and Bynum made more mistakes last yr than five at a tranny orgy.
Also BPA…Branch is a stud and easily can play in a dime in coverage.
Noooooo
Pure smoke…he drops like a stone.
Blake Bortles 2.0
Rickie Fowler teeing off at 11:13. He’s not had a low round yet. Hopefully shoots something really low today. He looks to be playing better than he has in a long time. Just has to get all the way back.
Can’t break 70.
I agree. Hasn’t gone super low in any round this year I can recall.
Birdied two of the first three holes, but the long par 3 into the wind ate his lunch on the tee shot. 20 yards short of the green it looks like.
Regarding Dalvin Cook. It’s kinda sad that he’s probably going to have to be let go due to his contract. Like Thielen and others before him, he was huge in the community and just a rock solid guy. He also gave us many thrills on the field with some spectacular runs. Remember his TD run against Miami last year? I do.
The business side of the NFL always wins folks. Doesn’t matter how good a person you are, how great a player you are, or how devoted you were to the fans and the community. Eventually you will get dumped and the fans will turn on you and say good riddance.
Yup…only pause I have on believing they’re actually going to release him is the “beefing” up of the blocking up front they’ve done with signing Oliver and re-signing Ham. Possibly the re-signing of Mattison has the plan being pound the rock and sprinkle in Nene and Chandler. I’m fine with that. I’d rather jettison Cook and his salary and sign a couple guys to multi year deals to begin the rebuild of depth and competing in 2024 / 25.
Three things I don’t like about the NFL. They’re too woke, they’re too “entertainment” focused (more icing than cake), and no matter what they proclaim, they don’t give a shit about the players.
Yup. Saw that one in person
Fans are fickle. If you don’t extend a good player in his prime, they’re mad. Once he’s not in his prime, they’re mad about the contract. Everything is always about money, and the rich owners will win in the end.
I like football, but (especially with all the woke stuff) I’d probably check out if there weren’t some players who are good guys.
Because someone wanted more to the story, here it is.
Warning. The “peaceful” Transy has bad language.
That is just a mentally limited individual unable to control their emotions to have sensible dialogue to confront differences in opinions. Both sides have these morons. Example A…
Yes, and the one who shot up a school in Tennessee
After more research I think the Bijan hype is just that…talented kid but not the AP / LT level. I hope the Eagles do waste pick 10 on him but that isn’t going to happen. He’ll slide to day 2.
It makes no sense to draft a RB in round 1 anymore.
No
I’d be surprised to see him (or any RB) go in the first round.
No RBs in the first last year, only three in the second round.
I don’t underestimate Jerruh
I thought this was an interesting poll. I voted yes, trade Cook and his salary for a 4th rd pick.
I would. I think KAM absolutely would.
The problem is, would a team take on that salary for a RB?
I think the real question is how much salary the Vikings would eat to facilitate the trade.
That’s the reality. No team wants Cook, his salary when they can draft cheap talent for little more than the vet minimum.
Should the Vikings straight release him with whatever is the best financial time, pre or post June designation?
I don’t think they will.
Cook can still break a play and change a game.
Morning gents! Beautiful sunrise this morning. Looks like it’s going to be a lovely day, 65-70 and sunny. Think I’ll stay home and do so projects around the yard and garages. Wash the cars and get the pollen off.
Had to take the wife’s friend to the airport this morning at 7 a.m. She was here the last 5 days. Came down from Maryland and they went to some concert at a Brewery in Tampa. We had some fun and she relaxed by the pool and laughed at the golfers cussing their shots that went into the lake. Some put on quite a show.
We went over to Tarpon Springs yesterday for lunch, drinks, and shopping. Beautiful day and fun. I got a little sunburned, but it was a great time. We were going to go down to Ybor City for dinner last night, but we were all too tired so we stayed home and just had a normal meal around the table. Good times.
Gonna do a late lunch somewhere today and just relax and watch golf probably.
Sounds like a wonderful week and weekend. Nice to have guests to entertain especially when they’re good friends.
Golfers showing their ass….glad I’ve never done that….
Doing the same today…didn’t golf after hitting balls all week at the ballon factory, practice range Friday night and 9 holes yesterday I think I’ve done quite enough. We’re going to head to Lowes buy some house shit we need do a few projects and then the same….settle in and watch to see who gets the auto invited to the Masters this week!
Supposed to get into the upper 30s here, people will be out in shorts.
Expecting a blizzard with over a foot of snow & 60 mph gusts on Tuesday/Wednesday. @Yay@
Welcome to the black parade by My Chemical Romance fucking slaps, that is all
Cross between Queen and Greenday sound. Not bad.
not a lot of modern music I like, but that song does something for me
When you find one wear it out.
Absolutely, found this song while watching clerks 3 this morning
Kirk was instrumental in getting Mattison re-signed. Glad he did I like Dolly Mattison.
Seems kind of odd to me… that said Cousins advocated for Rudy his first year here and DeFlip ignored him and made Rudy a blocker.
DerFlippy was an idiot. Pretty sure he’s changing oil at the Jiffy Lube now.
If Kirk wants him, I now question keeping Mattison.
According to KOC Cine is ahead of schedule in his rehab.
O’Connell spoke to the media this week and provided a lengthy Cine update, “Lewis is in a great spot right now. He’s well ahead of his rehab process. I see him [every day]. It’s unique to see a player every single day this time of year at the facility, but that’s been Lew.
I hope he brings it this season. Many players post injury work so hard in rehab they blow past the full recovery point and become even more. Like AP who I think came back in the best shape of his life in 2012.
AD was a beast. Man, I loved watching that guy play.
Trans wacko assaults a dude in Canada.
Im sure the conservative dude will get prosecuted.

What is the story here? I want to get outraged too.
Nothing to see here… nothing to see…
Aren’t you always outraged.?
Laughing
Final Four has begun!! Owls of FAU vs the Aztecs of San Diego St.
Fun fact…..
Since Gavin Newsome banned state money to be used for travel to 23 republican states, the NCAA paid the cost of San Diego St to appear in Houston.
That is the loving and progressive way…….
NCAA can afford it. Hope it was 1st class.
I thought we lived in the United States, not the Divided States.
Oh no we’re divided and it’s even more partisan now with this indictment. Gonna have to set up the reloader again.
Wow, that tournament is STILL going on?
Well, Rickie Fowler didn’t make the move he needed to today to give himself a chance to win and get into the Masters tomorrow. Guess who IS making that move though? Matt Kuchar. Kuchar, now the No. 148 player in the World Ranking, is not qualified for the Masters next week, but he’s currently one shot out of the lead in the Valero Open. If he can close the deal tomorrow, we’ll see him at Augusta National next week!
Well crap… Kuchar just pulled his drive way left into a damn cactus on his last hole, the long par 5 18th (just 609 yards is all). Looking at a bogey for sure, and potentially double.
Saw that…in to the dreaded cactus! Of course you know I don’t like him.
I’m rooting for Rodgers, use to be the man in college ahead of Speith and Thomas but lost his edge for the first 10 yrs on tour. Now is his chance to get to the Masters with his buds.
Laughing… I like Kuchar. Doubled the last so he’s fallen 4 shots back now. That said Rodgers hit his ball into a bad place on 18 as well, so maybe he will make a mistake and drop a shot.
It’s a par 5 he’s 10’ for a birdie now. Likely finish -13 with a two shot lead.
That putt was for par, so he missed it and made bogey. Kuchar is three back. I doubt he’ll win tomorrow. Padraig Harrington is in the tournament and only 5 back.
I don’t understand. His 2nd shot from 255 with the metal hybrid in to the bunker must have been his 3rd not 2nd. He must have hit his drive in trouble or flubbed his green side bunker shot. I missed a shot.
Yes, he had to punch out from under a tree where his tee shot rolled to. Then he hit his 3rd shot into the bunker.
Dude has been a lazer with his driver all week. Goes to show ya…it’s never automatic.
The grandkids are back from their walk with Grammie.
The 3 to 8+ inches of snow predicted turned out to be about 1/2 inch. The weather people are just about as accurate as the mock drafts I see on here.
We were supposed to get rain and then an inch of snow last night. We didn’t get a drop.
Can we pass a law to ban stupid April fools jokes?
Twins are in 1st place all alone….
161-1 baby.
Cooks gone at some point
He will play for the Vikings in 2023.
He can still break a play to the house.
Headed to Tarpon Springs for lunch, drinks, shopping, etc. Beautiful warm day here. Talk at ya later.
I ‘have to’ go up to Santa Barbara to take my mom out for a Birthday Dinner, her 90th.
@The trials we have to got thru for family.@
Wow… 90. That is so awesome! Hope I make 90.
That wife should keep you in shape.
My wife actually takes very good care of me. Very conscious about my diet, making sure I take my meds for my diabetes etc. We’ll see how long I last. My mom passed at 92.
Her mom, my grandmother made it to 99, my great grandmother made it to 100.
They say you get your life expectancy from your maternal side. Guess we will see.
She just got her Drivers License renewed for 5yrs,
Be very afraid, although she is a careful if slow driver. Doesn’t drive on the freeway/highway anymore, just around town.
have fun!
Love Tarpon Springs. Visited there a few times in the mid 80s when living in Sarasota.
MN weather is bad, but the cold does keep out some of the riff raff.
Looked at leaderboard for Valero, had to scroll down to Kuchar before i knew a name.
Yep, lots of no names in the tournament. The names are already at Augusta National…
Brief rundown on the Vikings QB discussion.
I believe KAM when he says he wants flexibility at the QB slot. They offered Kirk 2024 guaranteed with not enough guaranteed in 2025. That shows they are happy with Kirk for two more years. The Vikings have supposedly sent the signal they love Levis. Skoldiers bought it hook, line and sinker. I think that signal is an attempt to get Kirk to lower his demands.
I don’t see anyway KAM makes a big move up for Levis. If Levis drops down to 20, I think KAM might trade up.
My take is that KAM is trying to soften Kirk. He will draft a QB in 2023, probably in the later rounds. Then they will try the Kirk extension after the draft.
Gonna trade back, end up acquiring a second round pick and draft Hooker. Might just stand pat and draft Hooker. If it wasn’t for the ACL he’d be in the conversation for top 10 and the ACL could be ready by training camp. Only other downside is his age, big deal. Tannehill was old when drafted and that seems like ages ago but he’s still playing, and he hasn’t been great.
Hooker or bust!
Gotta be different so if I’m right I can point it out and be the true prognosticator of skolholes. If I’m wrong, big whoop we’ll just forget our ever happened. I’ve heard a lot of people who I respect that really like Hooker. The injury and age are all that are pushing him down the board which is fine. That jests means you get him cheaper.
I’ll forget either way lol
Very plausible. I don’t know who KAM likes. But Hooker is possible.
I think Tune is the “pocket” type guy with the on the move capability.
that breakdown I posted yesterday showed some good and bad points from their bowl game.
Tune is plausible as well.
Im not going to claim which QB is the one to draft.
It’s a crap shoot.
I am not saying they will get him…
I am saying it’s crazy how he’s being overlooked.
Yep. I get it.
It’s still a crap shoot.
I agree with this assessment.
kirk does not suck.
he is a capable QB.
Clayton Tune Rd 4.
Vikes will see how Kirk does I’m ‘23 to dictate ‘24 and beyond… bjt don’t want to be tied down for ‘25 even if it means paying 45m+
Yep. Makes perfect sense to me.
It’s a game of chicken by both camps.
True. I do think however, that KAM is fine moving off of Kirk. We will see if Cousins truly wants to retire a Viking.
Correct.
it’s all about value.. and fully guaranteeing deals to a 35+ year old QB is not smart.
Yep.
Fully guaranteeing an under 35 year old QB like Cousins for 6 years hasn’t really worked either. The whole premise of which was to “make a Super Bowl run”
mostly true.
4th and 8
While that play did
as a whole season he did fine.
Agreed. He did play pretty well for most of the season, and had a few really fantastic games.
Then the playoffs.
Well… to be fair Cousins was 31 of 39 (79.5%) for 273 yards and 2 TD’s with a 112 .9 passer rating and an 85 QBR in the playoffs.
3 and out. AND 4th and 8.
Going to go play 9 with the Mrs, her first time on the course this year. She’ll probably best me. Try and break 45 today on a hard nine.
Have fun, try and just be relaxed, swing in rhythm, and pull through the hitting area with your left side.
Thanks NVF. Played well…was striping my irons and hybrids. Shot a 46 and had two topped shots, both went straight but only 125 yards, a driver and a hybrid second shot. 3 putted the last 420 yard par four after being on in 2. Didn’t putt that well but only had one 3 putt, two putted the rest. Focused on exactly that, pulling through with the back of my left hand which got my right hip and hands in time. Didn’t pull one shot all day.
Tighten up hitting down on the ball a bit more and get my putting stoke back I’m in the 80’s again. I can see the way now which I had my doubts a few weeks ago. At least my wife thinks I’m a decent golfer now lol..
Nice to hear Lifer. Very happy for you. I can’t reach a 420 yard hole in 2 so very impressed with that!
Yeah by far my best two shots of the day…smashed a drive dead straight 230. Hit a 4 hybrid 200 to the back section of the green. Left the first putt woefully short, burned the edge with the second putt tapped in for a bogey.
I’m going to play again tomorrow morning see if I can keep it going.
Great, I think you were letting your right side take over too much in your swing. Feeling the pressure on the back of your lead hand as your coming into impact means your body is turning and your hands are following, as it should be. Synching your right hip with your lead arm as you said. I often give that tip on the course to folks and it seems to help a lot.
BTW it will help your chipping too.
yup…my chipping is solid I use all body and shoulder turn to eliminate the handsy stuff.
Excited to play tomorrow and see if I can lock in the feel.
Yeah.
A 385 yard par 4 is about my limit for hitting in 2.
Sucks getting old.
Amen… right now 375 is about my max… still hit the ball well just doesn’t go as far as it did 20 years ago.
Have fun!
With the 10 inches of snow today, I am wondering if I will be on a course in April at all.
Probably not.
Did buy a season pass again, so at least 40 rounds for me this summer.
Welp…maybe next year.
Yeah, couple years ago that was a weird event…
Prob a tour event that weekend, they can’t be happy.
This was two or three years ago… not today. Probably Lifer’s April fool’s day gift.
Gotcha. In Minny and all i see is snow,
Anybody think Rickie Fowler can win the Texas Valero Open and get into the Masters? I think he has to shoot 65-65 over the weekend to have any chance.
I hope he does but if he’s close tomorrow I think he probably folds under the pressure. He’s not all the way back mentally if he’ll ever be.
No.
Irv Smith was selected with the 50th pick in the 2nd round. Players the Vikings could have selected.
AJ Brown
Josh Oliver (TE we just signed)
DK Metcalf
Tony Pollard
Terry McLaurin
Now do Mike Hughes
No. I don’t wanna.
Lol
zim would’ve ruined him anyway
Good Saturday coffee read…
Hmmmm… I like this discussion Mick. I would bet you money right now that Cousins surpasses the 97.8 passer rating this year. I think Cousins will continue to play at a high level for the next 5 years.
I did like how the article pointed out none of these QB’s after Young and Stroud are worth the risk of a 1st rd pick. If O’Connell and KAM get stubborn on rushing and moving on from Cousins it could be right in to a worse situation.
I’m not sold on it either.
the noise we hear can just be jockeying from both camps.
I do like Tune the best.
I also think, especially with the Lamar situation and the contracts given ojt that teams are starting to be more risk averse with these deals.
you cannot compare a 35 y/o to a 26 y/o in terms of numbers and structure.
bith sides want what’s best for them.
Even with us 92.5 rating last year?
Yes. That rating was heavily affected by the new offense where the receivers and Cousins were not on the same page a lot of the time and even resulted in interceptions (like the two Reagor cost us in one game). I also think the scheme was really not as great as folks expected. I think KOC probably knows he lucked out with Cousins and JJ being able to make chicken salad out of chicken shit a bunch of times last year. Unbelievable throws and unbelievable catches were a staple because the play calling and the scheme were poor (my opinion only).
I expect KOC to make significant adjustments this year.
I think there were some lumps being worked out as well.
history is a guide to lean on, it isn’t absolute. I was mostly surprised by how few the number of QBs who’ve surpassed that number is.
there will always be exceptions to the rule… but the point remains. It isn’t an easy feat.
You’re right Mick. I think Cousins will do it though this year. I think the Vikings will move on from Cousins in 2024 no matter how good a year he has and even if they win the Super Bowl. They want to go younger, cheaper, and on a deal where they have all the control over the player. Is what it is, and choices all teams have to make.
I’m not sold on them moving on.
but like I said below both teams want the best deal.
And the owners… as a whole are trying to slow down the huge rise of these QB contracts.
It’s a conundrum for sure. Players will have a number of very good seasons, prove themselves, and get ever bigger contracts, but eventually they price themselves out of the market. Look at OBJ. Wanted $20M a year. Now it’s down to $15M a year. Is he worth that? Where is the line? Is any QB worth investing more than 20% of your cap in? I think percentage of cap is a real measuring stick. How much is too much? Aaron Rodgers deal is crazy to me. I like Lamar, but no way he is worth $50M with his injury issues and style of play. Teams have to balance the books and still be competitive. Hard task.
look…the Vikings and Cousins aren’t afraid to have a stare down in to the offseason next year and then come to agreement and he stays. Vikings want to see how we finish this year, what our draft position is, what QB’s are in the rookie pool and go from there. Perfectly suitable for both parties. I don’t necessary think Cousins is gone in 24 a lot depends on how that plays out.
You could certainly be right Lifer. I’m definitely making assumptions and reading tea leaves here. I don’t think Cousins is “old” and I don’t think his play will fall off a ledge any time soon. I do think his price tag is pretty steep and combined with his contract “requirements” it’s doubtful the Vikings will stick with him.
Just the business part of the NFL. It’s not as simple as folks want to make it sometimes, one way or the other.
That’s what I’m sayin.
Always surprises me that there is not a current QB contract that is tied directly to salary cap%. It makes too much sense I guess.
Find a QB you love? Offer him 15-20% of the salary cap.
The issue with that, is that the cap changes every year. I don’t think a player would agree to that because if the cap remains the same or goes down, they have to take a pay cut.
but the salary cap has gone down maybe once in the last decade, right? covid year.
I think the league / players union should work something out with one player maxing at 20% of the salary cap. Maybe even 15.
It makes sense for a team to want that. I don’t know if a player would want that.
I will take that bet if you want.
Sure DE… what do you want to put on it?
Think our O-line will improve. Loss of AT doesn’t bother me much. I’d prob bet, if i had money.
$50..???
And let’s be clear as possible.
If Kirk plays 2 games, it’s those two games.
If Kirk plays to the super bowl, it includes all games played. Regardless of injury or being benched.
Works for me
sounds good. You are on.
So Cousins passer rating at the end of the 2023 season has to be 97.9 or higher for you to win?
If it’s 97.8 or lower, I win?
Good lord I’d just take a quad and move on to the next hole.
Hmmmm… might hit 6 iron off the tee, then a 5 wood to get me to about 220 yards out. Hit a 7 iron lay up, pitch the ball over Rae’s creek in 4, then two putt.
Yeah I would 7 iron about 160 be around the same spot as you. The second shot would be a tricky one around the bend but we should have an angle. I’d probably go 7 wood which is my 185 club to get me to my wedge number. Pitch on three putt and take my double. You’d beat me by a shot.
Well we wouldn’t take a quad, or lose a ball, would we? A man’s got to know his limitations. For me, trying to hit a driver or 3 wood off that tee through those trees just creates too much going on between my ears, and of course I would have to absolutely pure them with my best shot. The chances are with all that going on I won’t hit the best shot of my life, which of course is what is needed. Just hit the ball into the fairway and go from there. I do this a lot when I play. When faced with a “career shot” situation just play it simple. Keep it in play and enjoy your day.
Yeah I would never hit a wood off that tee. Maybe a 9 or 7 wood because I hit those as well as an iron because they’re easy to hit but I would likely do the same and iron off the tee.
Chances are yes we would have a dropped shot. I gave myself a 3 putt for goodness sakes I’m trying to be realistic here lol.
Have to admit, with those greens it’s probably more realistic to accept a three putt as a strong possibility. For whatever reason, I have always been a pretty good lag putter. A two putt is pretty normal for me. I wonder if I could handle those greens though. They’re just about the most difficult in the world.
Absolutely…they are so fast and have difficult angulations, if they make the best putters in the world look silly as they do, imagine how amateurs would fare.
Yeah, I would love to see how they are in real life though… just for the pure fun of it…
Have you filled out your Masters ticket application to get in to the lottery for tickets to attend? $140 if you’re picked for a single day, also have practice rounds that are cheaper if you win one of those. These tickets sell for thousands on the aftermarket.
I never have. I have a very old friend who once told me his wife was friends with someone on the Augusta National board of directors or something and she could get me tickets. I never tested the waters on that. I think he was talking out his ass as it were, and didn’t want to embarrass him.
You should sign up just to see if you get a ticket. Its a single applicant single ticket process.
Every year on June 1st they open up the app process for those that are registered. You have between 6-1 and 6-20 to apply. They do a random drawing and winners are emailed their link to buy a ticket.
Pretty big deal, some people have been doing this for 20+ yrs and never won, others have won a few times. Never know might get lucky. Link below.
https://www.masters.com/en_US/tickets
Thank you Lifer. I will bookmark the link and put it on my calendar for June 1st (Monday).
Our pre shot routine on 13 above lol…
Laughing… at least after all that he didn’t gank it. I’ve seen guys do that many times. I’m like “if you’re gonna miss it, miss it quick”.
Literally took 7 or 8 take aways lol…announcers had to fill that air time and not just blast him.
In ladies high school and college golf you get two practice swings or it’s a penalty if you do more.
Kinda arbitrary there if you ask me, but c’est la vie
I would walk off the course of I got pared with that guy or heckle the shit out of him.
My dad got us practice round tickets in 2006. My brother and I have put in for the drawing for the tournament every year since. Haven’t been chosen yet.
I have also put in to volunteer, but haven’t been selected for that either. You have to pay your own way, but all volunteers get a free round at Augusta National on a certain date. That is what I really want.
What’s the rest of the hole layout like? Probably just let the big dog eat, laser one down the pipe and profit.
This is a 545 yard dogleg left, downhill par 5 with Rae’s creek guarding the green. The fairway is quite uneven with lots of moguls and bumpy spots. Left is dead. No way to recover from those woods. Right woods can be OK, as they’re sorta spaced out and you can get a lie and a shot.
I’d rip my driver down the middle.
Easy peasy.
Wedge.
If I do manage to connect with the ball it would go right into those trees just past the bricks lol
Holy Moses that Clark girl on Iowa’s basketball team is something else. 40 point triple double a few nights ago and then 41 last night to knock off the undefeated #1 seed South Carolina. Her deep shots are as pure as Steph Curry’s and that is no joke.
Lol….
Welp….might as well draft OG Torrence from Florida or Bijan if he slides to 23 and never give the ball to the opposing offense.
Remnants of the Zimmerball era. Zim built the offense around Dalvin Cook, which is why he never wanted Cousins. It’s not a bad way to play, the Ravens have done this ever since Harbaugh became their coach. Shorten the game, and in bad weather you’re always gonna be able to move the ball. A strong run game and a great defense wins Championships. O-linemen used to be the cheapest players on the team… not so anymore though. Is it cheaper overall (and smarter) though to get the best O-linemen in the league?
Yes.
I think tackles are ranked up there as the most expensive positions in football, a top 5 guard probably in the top 10 percentile of expensive positions as well but you’re lucky to have one of those if you already have two good tackles.
I keep reminding everyone, every legitimate championship contending team the Vikings have had they have had a top 3 if not the top LG in the league. Ed White, McDaniels, Hutchinson those were the studs inside that helped our good tackles and offense control games. Until we find that guy again we’ll continue to flail around the fringes of competing for a title.
Interestingly enough, when Cousins was playing for the Redskins he had that same issue. Year after year the left guard was the Achilles heel on the O-line, and year after year the Redskins failed to fix it. Trent Williams was his left tackle and they don’t come any better than Trent, but he was also hurt a lot. The center was OK, the right guard was good (Scherff) and the right tackle was OK, but man, left guard was always terrible.
It’s the missing key position I’ve been saying it for years on these blogs but people just shrug and act like its just a guard. Exactly what you point out with Trent is what happens, elite tackle gets canceled out because the dline just focuses on the gaps to each side of the LG and create havoc. Center and guard are continually trying to pay attention and help and the whole operation is thrown in to flux.
Andrew Vorhees would be worth the flyer even though he’s out this year.
Bradford from LSU… Ingrams old teammate is another.
I wouldn’t even hate taking Avila with a Round 1 trade back.
Cooks gone just can’t pass a physical yet
Interesting take, hadn’t thought of that…
Yup.
