Last week was filled with Vikings roster cuts, then the weekend brought the news of Bud Grant’s passing. Bud Grant was a true legend who reached the pinnacle of nearly anything he tackled, the world lost a great man when he passed away.
The roster cuts I don’t view as a bad thing. While I’m sad to see players leave, especially long-time Vikings and good people like Adam Thielen and Eric Kendricks, I view these moves as progress. I’ll always respect both Thielen and Kendricks for the work they do in the community and for what they did while playing for the Vikings. I also know that the front office has to do what they have to do to shed bad contracts and infuse young talent into the team. Pain accomanies growth.
It’s definitely the silly season, as rumors are running rampant around the NFL. Rodgers is going to the Jets, no wait, Cousins is going to the Jets. Don’t believe much of what you hear until it happens. Then again, I don’t need to tell you that. This should be a fun week. Wednesday at 3:00 pm central will be an NFL news explosion.

Ben’s regurgitated tweet revealed some interesting feelings at the thought of a 2-year extension for Kirk. I was disappointed.

Just build a team that’s ready in a year or two when they start running into cap trouble and have to dump half the team like the Iggles are this year. No way to keep all those players.
Nah, it’s not impossible. 9ers still don’t have a quality QB, which will hold them back. Their defense is elite, but you still have to be able to score.

Not having a quality QB has not held SF back during the Shanny era. They can get to the playoffs and win with replacement level play at the position.
Somebody should whisper to Shanny when he’s sleeping about how awesome it would be to have a QB like Kirk. SBs, champagne flowing from the faucets, pretty women everywhere, well worth a couple first round picks.

Tackle, guard, center, they’re all the same thing. Just mix & match, what could go wrong?
Just call all of them offensive linemen and they never had to change positions. Hell just have 3 positions, offense, defense and special teams. Then you always have players to plug in. Tackle goes down? No biggy, Mullens get your ass in there.

If they are players that are cut, released or FA’s from the Vikings, they are bad, old, worthless. However, if they are cut, released or FA’s from any other team that once in the past were good, they are now the best thing since sliced bread.

Some of these teams cant afford to keep these guys because they’re young and good.
The Vikings problem, especially this offseason, is bloated contracts for aging players that don’t match their current production.
