Every QB in the NFL has faced this situation… this is pretty normal. Players line up wrong and the QB just runs the play the best he can. The QB usually can correct the formation pre-snap, but sometimes if the clock is running out he just has to roll with it.
Big part of being a QB is knowing every players responsibility on every play. Imagine that…not easy at all getting these nimrods lined up right.
Yeah… I had guys go in motion for no reason, line up on the wrong side, run the complete wrong route… etc. It happens in pretty much every game.

I worked in Ormond Beach at a large balloon factory for 5 years. Small town beside Daytona. Whole area is a shit hole imo. This conversation reminds me of a money tip I was told once. A pretty wealthy friend of a friend does not keep equity in his house(s). His logic is that if you can get a mortgage at say 4%, then you take that money and invest it. Long term you should make money even in the stock market. Aren’t normal long term expectations like 6% or 7%? I can see the logic, but I would rather pay off my house and have equity.
How does mortgage insurance premium play into that math?

I’m not sure I haven’t really dug into it and done the math completely. I just can see some logic but you could really take a beating if you were putting that money into the market. I think I would rather take that money and buy investment properties while keeping market investments as a separate portion of my investments.
The logic is that if you can make 8% with your money, you’re better off paying the 4% loan and using the money you could use to pay that off and make 8% in the market.
I get that. I guess I’m just too chicken to think about doing that. Maybe if I had more money and experience in the market but that’s not where I’m at right now.

I went to the bank and got a letter that said I can afford a certain amount price maximum, then I took it to my realtor and we talked about what I could realistically afford for a mortgage, then we looked at houses in that price range, then I bought one. Neither my banker or realtor ever tried to push me to spend more, my wife however is a different story.
Interestingly, Wells Fargo carried the home loan for our place in Glendive and subsequently our place in Rochester. At the end of my fellowship, I had a letter in hand from the hospital saying I was guaranteed x amount of dollars annually, and we were looking at houses costing about x+100,000 in Billings. They said they could not take on the non-conforming portion of the loan and suggested they take the conforming and I find a local bank to fund the non-conforming. Ended up going to Yellowstone on Shiloh, Kevin K was awesome to work with and they split it into two loans for us.
I ended up making 2x my first years and 3x the year after, we burned the non conforming down to zero in 15 months.
We’ve been with Yellowstone ever since. Dumbasses at WF. My wife loves to hoard cash in checking and savings account at Yellowstone they’ve probably made bank on their “risk” they took ten times over.

He has a segment called Bobby’s Mail Bag, where he gives advice to whoever emails in and describes an issue.
Yesterday someone wrote in and talked about going to a clinic or hospital, and there were signs posted that encouraged patients and families to tip their nurses. The person asked what he thought about that, and if they should tip or not.
His advice was “tip if you can afford it.” One of the other (apparently smarter) show hosts spouted up that she thought tipping medical staff might be illegal. He poo-poohed her.
I actually wrote in to him to explain that if you don’t have an educated background in the subject matter you should not be giving public advice.
I am growing tired of the whole tipping thing…might go back to just tipping wait staff who actually go to your table get your order and deliver your food. We tip all the coffee folks, service repair people, delivery people, subway sandwhich makers, Dairy Queen drive through, the list is never ending…
Yep, I am over everybody thinking they need a tip for doing the job they are getting paid for. I get waitresses and some hair stylists and maybe a couple others but you better do your job well. Awhile back a friend put something on Bookface that said “remember, good tips lead to good service.” I wanted to point out how backwards that was but it wasn’t worth it so I kept my mouth shut, for once.
When I was a yute bagging groceries there was a really sweet lady who owned one of the bars in town who would give me a dollar every time I carried her groceries out to her car and tell me, “get youself a soda sweetie” (this is back when you could get a 20oz for 75¢), if there was ever anything extra I could do for her I always did and was happy to. Then there was this older retired guy who you’d want to hide from because once, sometimes twice a year he’d buy 20 bags of softener salt and you’d have to load it into his pickup, then you’d have to ride with him to his house so you could haul it down the stairs to his basement. Then he’d take you back to work, no tip, no offer of a soda or even so much as water as you’re schlepping 40lb bags down a flight of stairs. The only extra for the store was he had to pay a delivery fee of $20, because their logic is it wouldn’t be any different than if he’d ordered and had us haul it out, which is true, but I still think that’s a thing where you’d be expected to tip the delivery guy and his logic was, “well, I didn’t have it delivered, I drove my own car and went to the store”.
I remember the days when guys carried groceries out to the car. I always tipped them as did everyone I knew.

The main issue is it is outright prohibited in most medical facilities. It creates a huge ethics dilemma. Medical providers are not allowed to discriminate – they are to provide the same basic medical care to all patients.
Imagine working a hallway and 2 call lights are on – one is a wealthy family who has been tipping you generously – the other is someone on medical assistance who can’t pay rent on time. Which room are you going to first?
Intentionally denying or delaying medical care is abuse/neglect, subject to financial penalty and potential loss of license.
I don’t tip outside of foodservice, and even then its the delivery guys or servers/bartenders.

Yep, about the best you can do is bring in a plate of goodies for their break room or order pizza for lunch…they will accept that. When my father was in the hospital for an extended period of time we did those things.

When sweet sister was in the hospital, her ex brought food in for the nursing/staff every day (not just muffins/treats, but lunches such as cheeseburgers) A restaurant where my sister has been a regular forever sent in a huge hot meal for the staff with multiple warmers for large selection of yummy stuff, everything including delivery at their own expense. When sister was transferred to in house rehab, all the staff came over to thank us with tears in their eyes, saying no one had ever done so much for them.

Wish I could take credit, but you may recall I told you guys my sister’s ex is very wealthy. He’s a good guy, always treating everyone, does charity work all over the country. The restaurant where my sister is a regular, she knows them all very well and always over tips. Some of them told her they couldn’t have survived the pandemic if it wasn’t for her tips.
I would guess it would be the same for the nursing profession as the medical profession. That would be unethical if reported, the board would view receiving a tip as clouding their clinical judgement and possibly affecting patient care. Might be different in aesthetics. If someone wanted to show appreciation for a service I rendered, the best thing is to bring in a gift box or food for my staff, food is always appreciated. At Mayo Clinic, really big tips are shunted to the foundation and help build the skyscrapers.
I listened to the show every morning, up until he started praising Cuomo for the way he handled covid. I’ve thought about going back and listening to the shows after Cuomo “resigned” from office to see if/how he would back track his statements, but I didn’t want to waste my time.
