It’s Eric Kendricks’ birthday on the 29th, which got me to thinking, people with a February 29th birthday have it pretty good. If the 28th or March 1st falls on a Friday/Saturday, they can choose from either so they don’t have to celebrate on a boring Tuesday or something like that. I’m not really a believer in birthday parties for people over the age of 21 anyway, I think it’s just another way Hallmark gets you to buy a useless card.
This is from Dalvin Cook’s agent via Twitter via Instagram:
I actually don’t disagree with the agent here, the team did not use the run game well in 2022. Dalvin’s bulk stats look good, but we had too many negative running plays, and I believe that’s because they used the run too often only in obvious running situations where the defense was keyed in on the run. I don’t believe they used the run game often enough during “normal” drives, and their situational play calling and especially their run/pass balance was poor. Minnesota threw the ball on 64.4% of plays in 2022, 3rd-highest in the NFL behind the Buccaneers and Chargers. They obviously ran the ball on 35.6% of plays. The Vikings must be more balanced on offense moving forward, IMO.
Yeah, so, not much else in the way of NFL news out there. At least spring training has begun, so we have SOMETHING to talk about. Well, the few of us who like baseball, anyway. Everyone else is SOL until March 15th when the NFL free agent frenzy begins.

Minnesota Vikings News:
CBS Sports ranked each NFL team’s free agent class. The Vikings come in at #25, here’s a quote from this ‘expert’:
25. Minnesota Vikings
Top free agents: Garrett Bradbury (C), Dalvin Tomlinson (DT), Patrick Peterson (CB)
Tomlinson is the top free agent in this class, a reliable player who’s disruptive on the interior of the defensive line. He’s been a valuable defensive tackle since entering the league. Bradbury is worth retaining on an offensive line that needs him, especially since he’ll have a market. Peterson is 33, but coming off a year which he was strong in coverage and notched five interceptions.
This class isn’t great outside of the three mentioned, but the Vikings would be wise to keep Bradbury around.
Derek Carr is going to meet with a ‘handful of teams’ this week during the scouting combine, according to NFL.com.
The Commanders have released Carson Wentz, per Sports Illustrated.
Over at NFL.com, Danile Jeremiah ranks the top 50 2023 NFL draft prospects.
The Twins lost…….again, per MLB.com. The Braves, on the other hand, smoked the Blue Jays. I wonder what smoked blue jay tastes like?
Video of the Day:
Here’s a great 90s tune from Soundgarden called Fell On Black Days. Enjoy!
Chicago mayor canned baby hahahah got smoked in elections
Chicago down one crypt keeper.
sounds like Kendrick’s and hicks might be on the move. good imo save some cap. $14 mill!
kendricks = $11.4 cap hit $1.9 deadhit. Bye👋
hicks = $6.5 cap hit $1.9 deadhit.Bye 👋
Brian Asamoah, Troy Dye, and Will Kwenkeu… wooooof
There’s a rumor they want to sign Edmonds and then I believe are going to let Flores go after some true 3-4 LB’s and edge rushes.
Woooooof could’ve had Kirky
Double woooof… they HAD Cousins and Bruce Allen hated him.
YEAH??? WELL THE COMMANDERS HAVE HAD THE SAME NUMBER OF SUPERBOWL APPEARANCES AS THE VIKINGS SINCE KIRK CAME.
There, beat DE and KFEY to it.
Here’s a stat I just read… Since joining the Vikings, Cousins ranks fourth in the NFL in touchdown passes. I did not know that.
Since Kirk joining the Vikings in 2018 only 3 QBs have won the SB. 2 of them twice.
It’s always about the money.
Yep, heard that before…Faucci is a lying snake of a bastard who got rich off of the Pandemic.
DAYLIGHT SAVINGS MARCH 12! HALLELUJAH!
Right there with you! I always feel like I’ve been let out of jail.
Down to watching NHL. Don’t televise Twins preseason. NBA sucks.
Yep, and I’m not watching whatever those minor league football programs are either
I watched McCarron bring back his xfl team for a win. It was odd how they did it, went for one of the 3 options for a two point conversion that ended up being a four point conversion cause they went from farther back. Then no kickoff they have a choice to try an convert a 4th and 15 to retain possession and did, drove the field scored again and won. Other team never got the ball back lol…it was different.
When is combine? To lazy to look.
Started today.
Well, kind of. GMs, coaches, etc are there and started doing interviews today.
Oh….i’m a little slow. That on tv?
I think that part starts Thursday. NFL Live on ESPN will have some coverage starting at 3 PM Eastern time. I don’t get the NFL Network any more (grrrrrr), but I know they used to have a lot more coverage.
Oh yeah, they are on NFLN, i checked. They are going nuts playing games from last year. Hi Kathy!
My sister wants to keep Spectrum (UGH!!!), but at least I’ll get NFL network back.
Oh yeah….when do you sell/move?
In about a month or so.
Nice! Spring time around corner, let us know.
I love this old guy, just no fucks to give and he blasts the NFL
That’s friggin awesome!
Thanks for this one. I definitely clicked on the link and read it. I’ve been concerned about playing fields for years. Not an expert, but seems to me he knows more about fields than the folks who made the decisions.
See how society disrespects the old and knowledgeable…”just go away and die old man, we have this under control”. Fucking story as old a time…young cock swollen punks think they have the world by the tail, know everything and disrespect the past generations that built everything they have. Always a better way, always a faster way.
Look how we treat old people today, shitty healthcare you’re lucky if you get stuck in a nursing home and it will likely be a bad one where you lay in your own shit because the aids are on THEIR FUCKING PHONES! Swear to fucking god I’m going out like Brooks before I end up in one of those places.
Amen
In earlier generations, families took care of their own elderly, in some societies that is still the case. I know we can’t turn the clock back, but I wonder if that wasn’t a better approach.
Oh 100%….usually a daughter stayed behind while the men went on with their careers as the bread winners back in the day. Now everyone works, man, woman and kids as soon as your old enough to work. No one left to take care of those that brought you in to existence in the first place.
And might I add no one wants to pay to care for the elderly. “Hey let’s burn down entitlement programs!!” They’re on fucking videos saying get rid of social security and Medicare?”? WTF…guess we’re just going to throw them out in the street.
I strongly believe in funding elder and disability care, it’s an abomination what the care workers are paid for the work they do.
I wonder Though if the costs of caring for the elderly is motivation for Canadas government health care assisted suicide policy
That policy is more about allowing those a legal process to die on their own terms with a terminal disease than being forced to suffer so the healthcare system can suck revenue from your insurance while you die slowly like what happens in this fucked up country.
You can stop treatment at anytime and it’s not suicide.
taking a pill with the intention of dying is.
Oh here we go….guess if I take a huge shot of morphine to day peacefully means I’m going to hell.
I don’t think it matters one way or another to you…. Does it?
No it doesn’t when the doctrine you worship has killed and abused more of humanity than any organization of any kind in the worlds history.
You might wake up one day and realize you don’t need organized religion and a false prophet to be a kind honest person and deal with your own and others mortality.
That’s interesting, I’m not 100% against it even if I would never do it. I am concerned though about who can or can’t consent. My grandmother would never agree to something like that in her right mind, but her last three years were full on dementia where she easily could have been coerced into agreeing to such “treatment”.
Legally speaking, one would have to give consent to such measures around the time of being diagnosed with a cognitive disorder.
Truth. Imagine mind going but body can last another 20 years. Rely on the youth of America to care? Fuck that shit. Rather Doc give me the long face and say you got 2 months at best.
Thanks obama.
Literally half the GOP are the ones talking about eliminating all the entitlement programs while Obama brought healthcare to a 1/4 of the countries population.
Say you’re an uninformed white conservative christian without saying you’re an uninformed white conservative christian.
Bahahahaha I wanted to get you riled up.
it’s a societal issue not a political one.
Americans don’t have time for their elders and that’s sad.
Riling Lifer up can be fun.
But it is also cruel like teasing any dumb animal.
I get tired of his Liberal Talking Points so I just ignore them as much as I can.
Lol…what ever ounce of genetic intelligence your bullocks father pumped in to your moms egg that formed your brain was sucked out and blended up and fed back to you to the point you wouldn’t know the truth if it smacked you in the ass.
My goodness…….
My stream of consciousness…..Chilly would be proud.
Pass out the popcorn, there he blows.
Oh no…it’s 100% a political issue. You see we give our rights away when we support a party that votes for the dissolving these programs and supports unlimited spending for lobbyists and corps in our political system. They write the laws fella and we pay the consequences. Voting on single issues like guns or abortion gives them the means to manipulate and write the laws with what they’re really after. The programs that transfer trillions in to their coffers.
We’re done buddy….you just haven’t pulled your head out of the clouds long enough to see it.
I don’t know why you do this. Like it’s one side vs. the other.
these entitlements? They goto feed the political machines. They wouldn’t give out “free money” if they knew it wasn’t coming back to them.
it is societal. Death used to be celebrated and embraced. Not feared.
As a society it’s preferred to live alone in a home with nobody around who loves you just clinging on to life rather than dying. It’s the choice of many to pass off their elderly relatives to people who don’t give a Fuck about them because the “system” will pay for it and take vote them.
Sad state of affairs.
I’m not sure what you even mean by any of that. The entitlement programs aren’t giving out free money, they’re bought and paid for services we all pay in to. It’s money owed us that they skim off of and dole out lucrative contracts to insurance companies and big Pharma. Sure the system is broken but eliminating it is not the answer without a replacement program.
If I’m guessing right the GOP wants to privatize everything to let big corp get their greedy claws in to it all. Easier to manipulate.
ok.
I don’t disagree, we’ll except the Brooks part
KAM was asked how he evaluates the QB position numbers-wise and how he forms an opinion about it. His answer was, common for him, the usual general manager talk mixed with an analytical approach.
https://www.nfl.com/news/buccaneers-plan-to-release-rb-leonard-fournette
Interesting for a WR to get this input
Hmm, that is interesting.
While being inclusive and building a relationship with players to garner buy-in is laudable, it’s not practical IMO. This is a business. Players are going to have to get cut, traded, etc every single year. Treating JJ like a partner versus an employee will ultimately cause problems I think. Maybe they believe that building this kind of relationship will end up with the player feeling less inclined to demand more money. We shall see.
Meh.
dudes the mega star.
trying to keep him happy
Agree….he’s a contracted employee treating him like a partner then turns in to him wanting a say in how to run shit (see Aaron “darkness douche” Rodgers.)
It worked out well for Russell and the Broncos.
Curse of Oak Island is on tonight. Spoiler alert… they don’t find the treasure.
I remember I used to watch that show. I gave up in 2017…
That’s about the time I started watching it.
I do think they are closing in on where the gold and silver are though based on the results of a number of tests. Probably not this season (which was filmed last summer and fall) but the coming year should be very interesting.
Hopefully, I’d like to think something interesting actually happened there. I still check in on the season synopsizes to see what is going on with them.
Someone dug shafts deep underground and protected them with booby trap flood tunnels hundreds of years ago. The engineering was exceptional and may have taken 50 or more years to construct. Why would anyone do all that? They had to be protecting something… the question is what?
I have yet to see an oak tree on that island. Looks like mostly spruce.
Oak trees are not indigenous to the Island. They were planted there to distinguish it from the many other islands in the area. Who planted them is still a mystery. I assume they have all been chopped down or died over the centuries.
Hmm, interesting. I’m guessing Ponder is to blame.
Did they ever figure out if the swamp was man made and there was a sunken ship in it?
They strongly believe the swamp was man made. They have found the remnants of a dam at the Northern peak of the swamp and found stone roads and a warf like structure in there too. They dated some of the wood found under the roads to the early 15th century. Lots of evidence it was constructed, not natural. They haven’t found a ship yet, but lots of wood and metal that they believe were part of a ship.
Wouldn’t it be awesome if we find the Oak Island treasure and a true bigfoot dead body on the same day?
And maybe to cap it off we have a global communication event with an alien race who instructs us how to make power without ruining the environment.
Now that would be an awesome day!
FYI I enjoy all those shows – Oak Island, Finding Bigfoot, Ancient Aliens.
I haven’t watched Finding Bigfoot or Ancient Aliens. I think Bigfoot is a fig neuton of the human imagination. Humans by nature dream of goliaths. Huge creatures in the dark. That’s my opinion.
I gave up in 13… maybe it was 12z
My dad always watched it, so I’d watch it every now and again with him. He died in 2017, and I stopped then.
It looks like he hasn’t missed much since then!
i Used to watch in the hotel when traveling.
dumb dumb dumb
Lunchtime at the balloon factory.
think I’ll get some good communist food at the local Chinese takeout.
Enjoy Comrade!
Xi looks like he just got a handful of palm sweat…
So, we have a #1, #3, #4, #5 and maybe a compensatory #5? I guess i won’t watch draft day.
I will probably follow it online, 2nd page opened and then get interested as Minn Picks get close.
SoCal,
The rumor on the street is the 6 Minot AFB personnel were relieved because of what appears to be minor paperwork infractions.
The inside source won’t specify but says “I can’t believe they were relieved of their duties over that.”
I was hoping it was pot at work, or an orgy, or something but rumor is minor paperwork issue.
I figured it was them just ‘huddled together to keep warm’ nothing to see here type of thing.
Minor Paperwork Infractions seems more like a ‘throw a minion under the buss’ type of problem. That explanation would be floated to keep the sheep from questioning/looking for the real reason. It’s the type of thing the White House likes to do.
I suspect ‘the rest of the story’ will come out eventually.
Yep, I will keep you posted.
Sad to have something like that out of Minot AFB. I took a MAC/SAC flight out of there heading back to Korea after a Christmas Leave.
Got to go back into the ‘hatch’ to watch a Mid Air Refueling with a Bomber. Fascinating stuff.
The Air Force that I know are all wonderful people.
Agreed.
We might tease each other like Brothers/Sisters but we Military of all beaches consider each other family.
Nobody likes to do the fucking paperwork.
No job is really done until the paperwork is complete and filed (flushed).
This is true.
I got along with all the Air Force folks I knew/know, even though their branch isn’t as good as the Army, I don’t hold it against them.
There is no way that is the real reason. Now days you have to wonder if they were let go because they’re not woke enough, but likely the real reason is something that would be embarrassing for the public to know about.
Having said that, a seasoned HR person can always find a legal reason not to hire or to fire someone. I always went to great extremes to do the right thing, but sometimes doing the right thing might not be squeaky clean. When I took a legal risk, it was always to protect the majority of good employees.
One example, I was dealing with a crazy, dangerous employee (I’ve explained in the past how difficult that was). He was on suspension pending investigation for threats when he came into my office and told me that the radio and t.v. had been talking to him, and told him that Toyota was the anti-Christ and he would have to resign. I pulled out a piece of paper and had him put that in writing. Did I know he wasn’t in his right mind when he quit? Yes. Did I care? No. I was just happy to get a crazy, dangerous person out of there.
Legal does not equal Logical.
Had a co-worker who’s wife worked a a large company.
Two workers there got into a physical altercation and the aggressor was eventually fired. The Victim was upset after the altercation and my friend’s wife gave him a hug to help calm him.
The aggressor stated when we was fired ‘what about her? Public Displays of Affection are not allowed at work’. So they fired her as well.
What.The.Hell???
Ridiculous. Whoever made that decision should be fired. Wouldn’t have happened where I worked, because I had to approve all terminations. Unfortunately, there are a lot of HR people out there who are basically nothing but paper pushers. If you find a good one, hang on to them.
I assume they were trying to limit their liability in case the aggressor sued after his termination.
Yes, but I never let fear of legal liability force me to make a stupid decision, and I never lost a case, not once. To be fair, you have to have your house in order to be able to do the right thing. For example, did they always fire everyone who gave a hug in sympathy? I doubt it, but if they did, fire that HR person for stupidity.
doubt there were any other examples.
I would argue that giving a Sympathy Hug is not a PDA,
It is more a Public Display of Caring/Humanity/Empathy.
Agree.
Geez, I guess I’ll stop humping people’s legs. I didn’t know it had gotten so strict.
I don’t know, Kathy, the air force can be pretty picky regarding paperwork dealing with the Nukes.
I did wonder about the wokeness angle though.
Oh, that’s a good point. For example, if they were claiming that proper safety protocols were being followed, when they actually were not, that would definitely be a dischargeable offense.
The AFA in Colorado Springs had lots of Issues with Sexual Harassment/worse. After that the AF Brass went full woke so they could convince everyone how much they cared.
Not that they really cared but that they pretended too.
The issue isn’t with the rank and file, it is the higher ups that are more concerned with their own power/jobs.
Yeah I’d you’re going to be anal about paperwork regarding something, nuclear would be it, not exactly something you want to be lax about in any way
Lots of moves that can, should and will be made before end of April. Guarantee we have more picks than above come that day. We for sure get a 2nd back somehow.
I would expect a trade back from 23 to the 2nd rd maybe pick up a 4th also. Lot of good talent day 3 so that’s what I expect. Don’t really see any player they’d stay at 23 for. Maybe Stroud or Richardson is an outside possibility if he shows off at the combine. I’d like to see a trade back personally.
I think they’ll trade some of our older vets to recoup draft picks prior to the draft. At least, that’s what I hope they do.
Same. Need to get younger and cheaper.
Wooo Hooo 400 Comments already.
We cooking with Gas!!
(Unfortunately it is probably effecting our brain cells ala AOC.)
I reviewed Fall. It’s okay.
https://www.lastmovieoutpost.com/review-fall-doesnt-crater/
Did you see the America’s Untold Stories episode I recommended for you a few threads ago about the CIA in Hollywood? I don’t recall seeing you on that thread again after I posted that link. Thought you might find that interesting since movies are your thing.
No, I did not see that link. I probably disappeared from the thread at that point. I am often on…and then suddenly not on the rest of the day, as the world intrudes.
I found it on YouTube though. I will check it out.
No problem, I don’t stay on all day either, something about real life, haha! Glad you found it. I specifically watched that one to check it out for you.
Nice work!
I hope you see Cocaine Bear, I’m interested to hear your thoughts.
I might. I see it is at the local theater. I think some of the other guys at The Last Movie Outpost did a livestream about it, but I didn’t check it out for their reactions. Maybe I will have time this weekend.
I loved it, I haven’t laughed that hard in a long time.
Interesting. I will check it out eventually!
Haha!
Ah…hasn’t he done a lot to promote men playing in women’s sports? I don’t see that listed.
Good one! I’d agree that not only did he not achieve anything, he basically drove the NCAA bus off the cliff.
I know the NCAA got the NIL stuff started so LSU female gymnasts can make millions on social media.
Not sure how much he had to do with that or what the courts forced.
It started with a ruling out of a state court, can’t recall which state. There’s no organization or structure to it. The NCAA basically just threw up their hands. It’s a wild free for all right now, with boosters offering kids millions to come to their school. To be fair, the NCAA was already toast by that time.
So you are saying the NCAA was Dunne?
Olivia Dunne?
Yup, the LSU gymnast who is making millions on Social Media.
I am often called a Punny Guy.
I like your puns.
I go for quantity over quality.
I figure if I tell enough of them some have to be funny.
Now that spring is coming and it’s combine time, my interest and engagement in football is back. This is my normal annual pattern. Will try to get to know some of the draft candidates, and (even though we know it’s “silly season”) I get a kick out of the juicy FA rumors from the combine. Still won’t be interested in mock drafts until after FA though.
With all this talk of QBs and a side discussion about who should we get to back up Kirk I don’t understand why we don’t just resign N. Mullens.
We thought enough to trade for him. He and KAM have history, he should be cheap, relatively young (27).
I have seen people dismiss him and I don’t understand why.
He’s better than Mannion.
Obvious obviously.
As far as backups go, he seems to do the job. If Kirk would happen to go down for an extended period, could he win games? I dunno. He went to Southern Miss, so I like him.
If it was the Zimmer era I would say maybe he couldn’t hold a clipboard as well as Mannion but I pray we are past that.
I’d like to see somebody who has starter potential. If that works out you either end up with Kirk’s heir or trade bait. You’re taking the shot on younger guys that everybody wants while also keeping a good starting QB. Mullens is not that and never will be. He is a mid range backup that you hope can do enough to win half of the games he plays in, and that might be a stretch.
I would like the ‘Best Back Up We Can Afford’. The afford part might make Mullens the right answer.
There’s others that would be in the same price range and you could at least hope they would end up better. I doubt Minshew gets much more. Brissett probably does. Wilson is worth very little at this point but I’m not sure the structure of his rookie deal. Baker and Wentz, who knows what happens there. Wentz will be lucky to be a backup now.
In Mullens last start…
“Mullens appeared in one game with the Cleveland Browns in which he started and compiled a 147.0 passer rating on 20-of-30 passing for 147 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions.”
I just figure chances are the Keyboard GMs are writing him off to soon.
He also looked pretty good in his appearances in 2022.
according to the Vikings website he appeared in 4 games in 2022.
Yeah, I was thinking the Packers game, hit Nailor a few times, IIRC. Came in against the Bears, too, I forgot about that.
I only remember the Packer game. Forgot he played in others
I remember the one down in Miami when Kirk had the wind knocked out, not sure what the other two were, probably mop up, but he did have 21 completions.
I think that was Warshington. Threw one pass for negative 3 yards.
Right Wash.
He also played vs Chicago and Dallas.
Well that or you have to cut the guy because he sucks so bad he has no trade value
MDU still rolling strong. Told ya’.
Basking in the springtime sun, chief?
Drive clean to asphalt but snow moving in again.
I read something like 3-5″ possible in metro area.
Yep, just glad rain was wet.
Good summary. Cook is gone IMO after listening to KAM
What the heck is a ‘Bania’?
He’s the annoying comedian guy from Seinfeld
Exactly why Kirk will be extended. JJ ain’t sticking around in a rebuild or some unknown answer at QB
I question how much that actually matters to JJ. You can’t expect to be the top paid WR and also have a QB that is top 10 paid on top of it. That is what happened with Hill last year.
JJs Cash and Kwersk Cash can not come due at the same time. An extension would be franchise and Career suicide. KOC and KAM were brought in to evaluate the Vikings next QB and to make sure he’s franchise caliber. Not to hold Kirks hand in his failing NFL career. Wittle Skolly is fooled easily.
Leber dont know shit. Kwes and KOC are not risking their careers on Kirks deer brain. No extension. Draft a QB in rounds 2-4 this year, let him sit behind Kwerk in his LAST season in 23, JJ and the new QB and talk and get comfortable in practice and camps in that time and be ready to roll in 24.
Laughing… so hard… you got got KDS very bad.
I got got what?
Kirk Derangement Syndrome (KDS) you can’t accept he’s a really good QB that KOC likes and so does everyone else on the team.
No way. Nobody likes him. He only received every vote for captain because he is the QB so everybody felt obligated to vote for him.
Laughing… so hard…
KDS….
don’t you read good good?
Waiting to hear from NoDakRube about what shenanigans are going on up there in Minot with 4 senior Commanders relieved of duty.
https://www.foxnews.com/us/air-force-relieves-commanders-leaders-north-dakota-nuclear-bomber-missile-base
I can’t imagine there is great job satisfaction sitting in an LCC for 24 hours.
Sitting around waiting to react can get old.
Did that as an MP for awhile, had to find things to keep us busy. Some of those thing got people in trouble, like Tin Can Tag.
We would fill a soda can with gravel and chase each other around in Pickup trucks trying to throw into the bed of the other truck. Luckily no one was killed.
Was a lot of fun though out in the desert.
When I was a brat at CFB Baden-Soellingen had a few adventures running and hiding from the MPs. My best friend’s dad was an MP so I learned to put on my best blank look when he would ask us if we knew anything about the kids throwing pine cones at passing cars.
Some of those Ponderosa Pine Cones get pretty big,
Coulter Pines can get up to 10lbs.
Hope you weren’t chucking anything like that.
haha no these were silver fir pinecones. Big enough to hurt at close range but nothing more than an annoyance for drivers.
Maybe he was one of them!
Trying to find out myself…Lots of air force guys and gals go to our church…would love to ask them but there is that nasty prohibition about gossip.
Checking facebook…nothing…I am still digging.
I figured that if the news went National that the locals would have a pretty good idea of what went/was going on already.
Looks like Greater Idaho is moving forward with Assemblies voting to ‘open talks’ to make it happen.
Not a Given but an idea that is gaining steam.
https://www.foxnews.com/politics/greater-idaho-movement-absorb-counties-oregon-gains-momentum
The gov’t/politicians seem to have a philosophy antithetical to common sense so I can’t see it happening.
That would be the biggest roadblock.
Yeah, some dummies, probably at the Fed level will want to find some way to get money out of the deal.
Well the West/Highly Populated/Liberal part of Oregon will save 500m annually from the deal (reportedly) some maybe they can bribe/donate some to those Wash DC types.
Especially with rookies coming in, there seems to be more free agent QBs with starting experience than teams that need a starter. There are a few options to potentially land good backup. In order of NFL.com’s FA rankings, current QBs set to hit free agency are Lamar, Carr, Jimmy, Geno, Jones, Wentz, Brissett, Teddy, Dalton, Minshew, Baker.
So there will be a decent back up.
Saw Brissett as an option for the Vikes as a backup.
I still think they should see what the Jets want for Wilson or go for Baker or Minshew. Unless they’re going to draft somebody then get a backup that has potential to take over some day cheap. If they obviously aren’t going to work then see ya later and try again next year. I could see the Jets having to dump Wilson cheap after they sign somebody a la Carr.
I don’t see any of those guys cojming too cheap.. Brissett is another story.
One think Kirk has been for sure is durable. No backup needed other than when the league made him sit out for being sick.
Agreed. The guy can and does take a lot of hits.
@Maybe that is why he seems so scared vs a good defense@
Problem is part of the biggest upsides of Kirk is he durable. So why pay big for a backup when you are already hedging your money higher on a guy who is durable? Seems counter-intuitive.
That’s why I try for a younger guy that you can get cheap but still has some possibility of working into a starter, like Wilson. I see 3 outcomes.
Add Mariotta. He was just released by Atlanta.
Wow. They gonna roll with that draft pick from last year or go after a Carr, Rodgers, Jimmy?
Yep. I think Mariotta “left the team” before the year ended. There was some injury squabble between him and the coaching staff I think.
Carr or Jimmy possible but unlikely. I think Jimmy goes to Vegas and Carr goes to NYJ. The draft pick from last year was pretty bad this year so I don’t see them just going with him.
They’re going after Lamar if they can. However, the team keeps on saying they like Spencer Rattler and he’s going to get to compete for the starting spot.
Lamar and Corduroy on the same team could be lethal until Lamar gets hurt again.
What? Spencer Rattler still plays CFB for South Carolina.
Ridder?
Jimmy, Lamar, Carr, and Geno will be starters, Jones obviously, but the rest are strictly backups, of whom I like Minshew the best for a backup.
I would think Seattle will re-sign Geno. No way Lamar leaves Baltimore. Who all needs a QB?
Vegas
Jets
Giants (likely Jones)
Entire NFC South
Colts
Texans
Commies
Cardinals for most of 2023
Rams
Now that I look at who could use a QB, more will be starters than I initially thought without actually looking at it.
You forgot the Vikings.
I don’t think I’d take any of those guys over Kirk. As a backup sure. For the right price I’d like to see Wilson, Minshew, Brissett, Baker, Wentz sit behind Cousins. In one way or another they have all shown some level of talent and they are all young enough to potentially take over in a couple of years.
Rams don’t need a QB, Stafford is back in 2023. Jones won’t go anywhere, he’ll get transition tagged if the don’t agree on an extension. Colts and Texans will draft QBs. Commies will likely roll with Heineken and the kid they drafted last year. Cards don’t need a QB, at least not in a realistic sense where they would pursue one. Its basically the Jets, Vegas (who might also draft a QB early), and the NFC South, though the Bucs are said to be rolling with Trask as the starter for next year.
@Moss is overrated@
LOL, studumdum
Yum.
If he’s there at 23 than KAM should be running to the podium
His name would fit well with the vikings too.
Vikings should bring this guy in… From the Draft.
Would be fun to watch. 5’9 165.
I also wouldn’t hate them spending a pick on Tune
This is another young fella the Vikes should have a good look at.
Seems like a Flores type safety for sure.
I don’t know much about 90% of the CFB players outside of the Big Ten, I guess I could just read some random scouting reports and present them as fact and my own take without seeing the guys actually play like lifer does, but I digest. A guy named “jammie” seems fitting for a DB so I’m on board with him.
See I thought those were bonus points.
He’s a smaller guy.. built like Polamalu or Winfield but dang… He hits hard.
And guess what? He’s not 20m/yr like Harry is.
Yeah, not 20 mil and if he doesn’t suck its a win
I know some of the SEC guys, I follow Ole Miss closely & follow a couple other teams a bit.
I like Ole Miss, I’m a fan of any team named Rebels.
Became an Ole Miss fan when I lived down there, Eli Manning was QB. I also like the Razorbacks because I lived in Fayetteville Arkansas many years ago, I loved it there.
You ever see Christ in the Ozarks?
You could say I see him everywhere, I suppose.
Yeah that is also true. Its just some random giant statue out in the middle of the Ozark mountains though.
Oh, no, I didn’t see that. I was mainly in the Fayetteville area when I lived there. Also did a highway job over toward Tulsa, not far west of Fayetteville.
Yeah my aunt and cousins lived in Bentonville, we’d go down and visit every few years, went to the ozarks, Frontier City in Branson, etc. I always like it there.
You a big landshark fan?
I’m an Ole Miss fan.
Down there, you have to have a favorite college team. I loved the Oxford area, so I chose Ole Miss. Also, my buddy was a MS State fan, so I might’ve also gone with Ole Miss just to piss him off. Either way, been an Ole Miss fan ever since. I was actually thinking of doing my MBA through them, but it was more than double the cost, so no thanks.
WTF?
They replaced that mascot with a “landshark”. They’re still known as the Rebels tho.
Not a big fan of the last Jam(eis) that came from FSU so I’ll pass on this one.
That’s also logical.
This one does not throw the ball but stops it.
What’s his take on crab legs?
Does he eat Ws?
Or China food?
I haven’t heard. I think he takes less crab legs then Winston did, but I haven’t verified that yet.
Maybe the Vikings will get crazy and sign OBJ this offseason….
Especially with the injuries, is OBJ even as good as Thielen at this point?
I could get on board with that.
Vikes to pansy to take chances though
Ramsey and OBJ? LOL
We’re the Rams.
We’re the Rams!
Rumor has it that the Giants & Cowboys are courting him right now.
For vet min, otherwise no, I read something recently that he’s only played a total of like 20 out of the last 50 games because of injuries and the dude is over 30. I’d look at younger guys, Lazard, Hardman, or an injury flier on Parris Campbell.
I wanted to get skolly riled up with this one.
He gets a big OBJ boner LOLOL
LOL
I agree, I’m not a huge OBJ fan, especially at the price he’s gonna want.
This Vikesfan account is a complete joke. This guy always throws out the dumbest crap like he knows nothing about football. ZERRRRRRRRRRRO chance any sort of tag gets put on Greg
He does have some really bad takes.
They’re so bad like he lives in the stone age
What the fuck is he babbling about? A franchise tag on a kicker? On Joseph? Dude must be higher than a Georgia pine.
transition tagging the worst kicker in the NFL, wow, that really makes sense.
Just looked it up, tag would cost the team $5.3 million.
Gross.
It’s @only@ $4.9MM for the transition tag.
@but then some other greedy team might snag him@
Worst “XP” kicker in the NFL
Yeah, worst kicker in the NFL, missed more kicks than anyone.
In his defense, he only missed one from under 50. The extra points are a big concern, he missed 6 of them. Yikes.
So he missed 7 kicks under 50, that’s not good.
Yeah, true. So odd. Gotta be something mental.
Well, he got you to click. Which was the point.
Plenty of people just say random stuff to get noticed.
Ohhhh Packers GM throwing shade at AR
Does AR have a no trade clause?
I don’t think so. Ask Ben though.
He doesn’t.
I found it.
The article says….
LOLOL
Lol
They keep talking bout AR like that he’s going to just stay with the packers and suck more than he did last year.
And he’s not going to retire this year because then he would not be the center of attention in 5 years at the HOF ceremony.
AR will be back in GB or retire, he’s always said he doesn’t want to go out like Favre. And Love sucks.
Wentz to the Packers
Bite your tongue
Book it
He may not even play anymore, might decide to retire. I would if I were him, although backup QB is the best job on the planet. Make $5 million a year to hold a clipboard & go to practice.
If you have $100 million in the bank, does making $5 million a year really matter?
Final results are in! Not surprising haha and Ben put this very well to the people who didn’t vote
for what?
Whoops
https://skoloholics.com/final-results-are-you-a-kirk-cousins-hater-or-apologist/
I cant believe you made all those fake accounts just to make the poll equal.
I thought about voting just to tip the scales, but thought it looked nice being a tie.
A tie is perfect, hopefully the Vikings have a couple games end in ties this upcoming season.
That’s so true. A tie is so “Cousins.”
https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/2023/02/27/nfl-cut-candidates-ezekiel-elliott-dalvin-cook-joe-mixon-2023/11332756002/
Ezekiel has a $16.7 million cap hit with $11.8 million dead cap hit. They’d only save $4.9 million by releasing him. They could do it post 6/1 and push some of the dead cap hit into 2024.
LOL
BYE Zeke.
Pollard is going to want the big bucks too….
Broken leg didn’t he have in playoffs? May not be ready for season. I think i read it was pretty bad break too
Fractured fibula. Ouch. Lucky it wasn’t his shin.
WTF would you cut him for $4.9MM? That’s stupid.
I think they can push a bunch of that into 2024 if they designate the trade/release as post 6/1. Not that that’s a good idea, but it’s Jerruh, he does dumb shit like that.
Oh hey Les..sure that job will be here in ’24 for ya… Don’t worry.
Hmm.. .who knew it was so easy….
Bills def could regress
If they do it won’t be because of him leaving, he sucks, but they have a bunch of FAs on the defensive side of the ball.
and Allen begins his massive cap hits in 2023, so they won’t have the $$$$ to re-sign everyone.
Yep, can’t win the SB if your QB is making big money and isn’t on his rookie deal
LOL, well, it’s not nearly as easy.
Allen is a damn good QB, but he shit the bed this year in the playoffs. Diggs was pissed.
Allen is good don’t get me wrong and I’d take him over Kirk before people freak out… HOWEVER
Allen has bigger problems than people think. His turnover problem is a massive issue. Lead the league too believe it or not.
Especially on the goalline with the game on the line….
Exactly why I don’t think bills will make SB anytime soon.
Think bengals and chiefs dominate for awhile.
Damn, he had 27 turnovers in 2022. 14 interceptions & 13 fumbles.
Yep, ppl turn a blind eye to it but it’s a big problem. #1 in league. He had a lot in 2021 too.
imagine if that was Kirk lmao
22 turnovers, 14 picks and 8 fumbles lost, but still led the league. Kirk not far behind at 21.
Yep, saw that.
You’re actually wrong. He had 14 picks and 8 fumbles lost, fumbles recovered by your own team aren’t a turnover. Kirk 14 picks and 7 fumbles lost, which is only one turnover more than Kirk, so I wouldn’t worry any more or less about one over the other. Now, the volume of fumbles Allen had overall are a bit concerning, but fumbles by QBs tend to fluctuate year to year and so do the number recovered by the fumbling team.
Whoops, I read the 13 fumbles as fumbles lost. You’re correct, he didn’t lose all 13.
Yeah, 13 fumbles is a high amount, but it fluctuates every year and there is some luck to recovering them, Kirk lost all 7 he had last year.
And you would expect more fumbles from a guy who runs the ball and does a lot of QB sneaks. So, really, the number of fumbles Kirk had is worser.
Kirks had his own issues at times but running does increase the number. No QB in the NFL fumbles nearly as often as Fields though, who has a mind bottling 28 fumbles in 25 career games.
I hope the Bears keep him and don’t draft one this year.
Same, I think he’ll get incrementally better but will never be a true franchise QB and eventually will cost them a lot of money, then he’ll start breaking down from all the hits and sacks he takes, which are also astronomically high numbers.
Holy shit.
You can if you have a QB who actually performs at an elite level instead of just consuming an elite level of the cap.
39 mil for allen is better than Kirk for 36, and Allen’s contract actually allows for flexibility to move money around, unlike Kirks.
Yup
Maybe he is looking for a potential “interim” title in November 2023.
Should the Vikings trade Dantzler?
Zone was his calling card…can he hold up in a man system under Flores?
What kind of return do you think he brings?
They might not have a choice but to keep him unless they bring in a FA DB.
Dantz, Evans and Booth are your DBs right now and neither of them can remotely play more than 12 games in a season. DB a big problem thus far
Skolly. They’re bringing someone in.
They can’t rely on those 3 alone to be “the guys”
It’s going to happen.
Now what do they do with Dantz? He was old regime… Booth and Evans are the new and Evans and Dantz are pretty similar…
On top of that…isn’t Dantz due some extra money this season?
He’s due nearly $3 million in 2023, only a little over $200,000 in dead cap.
Right. But his cap hit went up. Didn’t say it was guaranteed.
Sure, was just mentioning it as it’s easy to release him if they want to.
Too bad Evans had those concussions, he shows a lot of promise, but the concussions should be a major concern.
And Dantzler being hurt doesn’t?
I don’t think I mentioned him.
Three concussions in one season is way more concerning than whatever nagging injury Dantzler had.
Darrisaw had 2 last year…
No bueno.
Are we concerned about him as well?
Yes
Agree.
I am
They’ll bring back Shelley and probably sign a mid tier guy at most.
Shelley has to want to come back…
Didn’t he post something on Tweeter recently telling the Vikings to bring him back?
I’m not sure.
He did
https://twitter.com/PatSiepmanNFL/status/1629887371033321474?s=20
why is that sensetive?
because of people like stu.
stupid stuflakes, not surprised he’s not around since he got owned on his horrible take yesterday that Fran is meh.
No kidding.
I’d guess he’d want to, he actually got a chance to play here for like the first time in his career last year. I’m sure he’s looking to get paid as much as possible though so I could see him going elsewhere.
Its a coinflip in my opinion… not the guarantee that everyone is making it out to be.
Does Flores want him back? The Vikings did fire the guy that gave him the chance.
This guy says it’ll happen
https://twitter.com/sosarick/status/1629880057949835264?s=20
He is a vikings insider.
He REALLY likes Kirk.
He is truly a pansy, super soft and overly sensitive.
I wonder how he feels about dogs… and Packers insiders….
He seems like more of a “cat person”
LOL, that guy sucks, cut him
Trade for Ramsey!!!!
Best case scenario.
F them picks.
I’d be good with that.
He’s a way better fit than PP. Coming out of college he was supposed to be good playing at the line in man coverage. You aren’t going to get much of anything for him in a trade anyway so I don’t see any point in trying to trade him. The Vikings need as many cheap players on the roster they can get and they don’t have shit for draft capital so it would be antithetical to trade him even if he is just meh, meh in the FA market will cost more than he.
Thank god February is finally done.
Stupid month and imo the worst month when living in MN. Snow for the holidays is fine.
Football to watch (at least some teams play through January) gives me something to watch.
As soon as the Super Bowl is done, I just want snow to melt and golf courses to open.
With Feb being over.. it means all the super cold BS is done too.
We’ve made it!
Yeah, we had a pretty mild winter, temp wise. I think the deep freeze only lasted 5 days vs two weeks.
More snow than we need, but Farmers should be happy about it.
Thats ok with me for sure.
We needed the snow over here, we’ve been in a drought for 3 years, so the moisture is welcome.
I’m friggin’ tired of winter, though. It’s been long. We got blasted in the first week of November, and it’s been blindingly white up here ever since.
Shit, we’re expecting another round of snow today, up to a foot, and there was snow in 10 days of the 15 day forecast (I know that everything more than 3 days out is bullshit, but still)
Its all missing us south…looks like it can’t make it north of Sakajawea
We’ve got plenty. Drove to Jamestown this weekend (twice), it’s laid in heavy all the way across interstate, ditches are full, so every storm shuts the highways down. I’m guessing today will be no different, up to a foot of new snow with 45 mph gusts.
Did you see Wyoming over the weekend? Casper had drifts up to the roofs. I80 was shut down for a couple of days with over 10 foot tall drifts.
I didn’t see that, I’ll have to look it up. Wow, that’s a lot of snow.
Holy moley
https://k2radio.com/video-wyoming-wind-creates-unbelievable-snow-drifts-in-casper-neighborhood/
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dwjXmf9E8Us
Here is the interstate in southern Wyoming
https://weather.com/storms/winter/video/snowy-windy-wyoming-looks-like-a-winter-wasteland-with-huge-snow-drifts
Damn, if this storm hits like they think it will, we might be in for some of that.
I always liked Casper, the ghost and the town.
That town is horrible. Not a straight road anywhere and no easy way from one side to the other.
Never spent a ton of time driving around there, usually spent all our time outdoors doing stuff like hiking or skiing the mountain.
It pretty much sucks. There are 2 Sanford’s though so that is good. Other than that Casper is very high on the list of towns I don’t want to go back to.
I lived by Buffalo, worked on a ranch there one summer during school. Loved it there, on the foothills of the Bighorns. I saw deer, antelope, & elk almost every day.
Yeah, Buffalo is a nice town as is Sheridan and the country around there is pretty. I never had to live in Casper, but I’ve spent some time there and lived not far away for a few months.
BMS, owning some property around Buffalo or Story was on our bucket list. It is beautiful there.
Yeah, it really is. I loved it there.
This Casper talk and the food talk has me missing Sanford’s. That was the only good part of Casper. My favorite was the Kardiac Arrest burger. 1/2 pound burger, pepper jack, breaded pickles, onion rings (piled about 4 inches high), all covered in ranch. If you really want a trip to the ER, you can “Make it a Triple Bypass BUN” by substituting the bun for 2 grilled cheese sandwiches.
Now I am also missing sandfords and if you’re gonna order the kardiac burger you gotta go with the two grilled cheeses.
Daughter went to college in Jamestown.
Three things I remember are the buffalo statue, and IDK pizza place, and The Depot for breakfast food.
Man, I dumped a lot of money into that city…..
Must be rich, I got like a 30k scholarship to go to Jamestown (spread over 4 years of course) and still wasn’t close to affording the tuition.
I didn’t know Jamestown was that expensive.
Fairly expensive.
I went there, many of my relatives went there…my son had a decent FB offer to go there but opted not to.
Back when I was graduating and selecting schools the local state school in SD was around 5k per year in costs, Jamestown was around 11k per year. Keep in mind Jamestown is a private school.
From time to time I muse that if I had gone to a smaller school I wouldn’t have been lost in the masses, might have had a significantly better undergrad GPA, life might have turned out differently…one thinks for the better but in all likelihood the opposite would have happened.
I’m just glad I got a great education at one of Canada’s top 5 universities and graduated with not one cent of debt. When I compare what I paid for tuition and room/board to what an education costs at Montana State these days I was very very fortunate.
Hard to believe for you guys I’m sure, but I was gifted at writing long personal statement essays that made the selection committees for scholarships weep. I actually graduated with CDN$7000 in my scholarship account.
LOL, that is shocking
I graduated with a relatively small amount of debt, around 15k, I paid the rest with military assistance and working full time. Some of my classmates ended up with as much as 40k in loans. I can’t even imagine what the kids these days end up with in debts.
Don’t worry. Brandon is going to pay off everybody’s student loans. I better get some reimbursement for paying my student loans off myself.
We’ll find out soon, SCOTUS is hearing the case, I think right now actually. I’m guessing they rule it circumvents the separation of powers.
Hopefully. I don’t see how they could rule any different since the House is supposed to have the power of the purse.
Bidet is citing the “HEROES” act, but there’s a difference between pausing the loans during a national emergency and forgiving them forever. If anyone really gave a shit they’d do something about the ridiculous cost of education.
College tuition started going up exponentially as soon as the government got involved with the college system.
Yeah, I remember being on the student senate in college and learning how the Board of Regents went about setting budgets and all kinds of useless information. One thing I found interesting was that the costs of education varied greatly between some of the schools, like at the School of Mines (engineering and science) it was 4x that of somewhere like black hills state, but they just averaged everything out and no matter what state school you went to it was the same cost per credit hour. LOL stupid libs getting useless degrees in stuff like Community organization and advocacy, sociology, and fine arts paid the same as metallurgical engineers and computer scientists only so they can make about half as much money.
I got lucky. Bought a house while I was in college, sold it not long after graduating & the profit paid off my student loans. Only made one or two payments then paid them off.
I love your stories. You should try writing a book.
Yeah, Jamestown is really expensive, compared to other smaller schools.
I have some relatives up ND, a couple of them went to
Bring Some CrayonsBismark State College for their generals before heading off to different Universities, saved a ton of money doing that. That’s what I did. First two years at BSC, then finished my degree at Dickinson State.
She got a B Ball scholarship that covered books and tuition for the 4 years. We helped with the room and food. It worked out to be about exactly the same as if she had gone to the U of MN, but she did not want to attend a large school and wanted to play college ball.
Def not rich, and working through mid 70s ….
I was just kidding, but good for her getting scholarship.
She actually got more money from academics vs B ball at other schools. Had a few D2 options. I tried to talk her into d3 locally, but she made the mistake of visiting the Jamestown campus in the spring and loved it.
I loved the campus as well, and I liked that is was far from home and no other kids from my HS were going there.
I wish I had that much self-awareness then. College was like High School Part 2, just with more stupid.
I ended up going to college 10 miles away and living at home my first year. I did not do well and at the end of my first year the school sent me a letter suggesting I take a semester off. So I went and worked in a mine for 2 years and then went back, made the deans list, got my grades up, and transferred away from home.
I’m grateful that I didn’t go to college straight out of high school, it would have been a train wreck. I started when I was 33.
I moved 2 states away, over 800 miles from the HS I went to and when I walked got to my first class of about 40 people a kid I graduated with was standing in the hall waiting to get into the same class. There was only like 120 kids in my graduating class. I couldn’t believe it.
That would suck.
My son and I go bowling there, or stay at the water park hotel. I have a buddy in Fargo, and he and I will meet up in Jamestown to bowl or whatever. That’s where we went to Cocaine Bear on Saturday.
100% Lifts my spirits when March arrives. I hate winter and spring is coming!
Fell on Black Days is SUCH an incredible song, great choice!
Yeah, one of their best. Lot of bad music in the 90s, but there was also some great music.
That whole album is fantastic. I absolutely love this cover of 4th of July.
Chris Cornell committed suicide, right?
Correct, in a bathroom after a performance. So fuckin sad.
Damn, just read about it. Very sad, sounds like he’d been feeling off all day, even during his performance. Friggin prescription drugs.
I saw soundgarden live not too long before he passed. His voice seemed like it was very strained and they sounded not good overall, out of sorts.
I heard it was the Beatles that made him do it.
https://twitter.com/thatvikingsfan8/status/1630272218809638914?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1630272218809638914%7Ctwgr%5Ef299a31122282459d25e121a38ace020d1790f71%7Ctwcon%5Es1_c10&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fpurpleptsd.com%2F2023%2Fvikings%2Ftop_news%2Fdalvin-cook-agent%2F
He can GTFO.
What’s weird is the oline graded well in run blocking last year and advanced metrics say Dalvin sucked. I wonder if his agent uses pff or DVOA or other advanced metrics in negotiations for contracts.
Something bout a 14m RB not named AP in his Prime doesn’t seem worth it to me.
Could you imagine AP in his Prime with Cousins? That would have ruled. Lots of under center, so we would have a power scheme OL which means better anchor which means the play action would be even more of a threat.
Yeah.. I would think it would look something like ’09 except no JJ there.
The Vikings should make Kirk play out 2023.
100%
Worst case scenario? They win the superbowl and he gets even more money.
I’m good with that, too.
Whats that bad that can happen? They rework his dead money into a new deal?
He wants more money?
I think it only makes sense.
Yep, and if you find your QBOTF in that time frame? Well, yippee skippee.
I don’t share the opinion that we MUST re-sign him before the season, I see no reason to, other than you may get a better price. If his history has shown anything, it’s that he won’t budge on his price, so eff it, why bother?
Thats it.
They price doesn’t really mean shit. Are we talking about doing 1 year 40-50million dollar deals?
That really isnt feasible.
I’m not knocking him saying he’s a bad qb…but I just dont know what else there is to do capwise with him. I don’t see the advantage to “locking him up” now vs. next year if they make a deep playoff run.
And if they win the SB… F it and pay him everythig I dont care.
Sounds fine to me.
Wrong!
If they win the Superb Owl, they could give Kirk 99.9% of the salary cap and I would not complain.
LOL, you guys crack me up talking about the vikings possibly winning the SB.
Every now and again, we have to dream of this team winning it all.
I finally got a new tailgate for my pickup, that took a while, but it’s finished. They’re also cutting out the rust above the wheel wells, replacing the sheet metal, and I’ll put on fender flares. Have ‘er looking like new again at 190,000 miles.
I feel like I remember your tailgate was damaged in a boat towing incident, is that accurate?
Yepper. Had a tough time finding a tailgate because it has a backup camera & all that jazz.
It was while I was restoring the boat & trailer. Hadn’t replaced the hitch & stuff on the trailer yet, hit a bump & the fucker came off the hitch & plowed into my tailgate.
Dang, that sucks. We had that happen last summer but got lucky. My wife was pulling my friend’s boat with the Tahoe, went over some railroad tracks, boat came off, hit the back window and only scratched the glass. Left a little scratch on the tailgate but all in all a pretty good outcome.
I didn’t realize that tailgates cost $2,000. Glad I didn’t have one of those new fancy tailgates they put on the new GMCs, I heard those are well over $5,000 to replace.
Dang, I hope I don’t have to replace mine anytime soon. That’s pretty steep.
That was for the tailgate, getting it painted, and replacing the handle & lettering. Still, $2,000 is a lot for a tailgate.
First day of the new job. 20 per week accounting at a non-profit. I probably shouldn’t hang around here and get fired the first day.
Just tell them Skoloholics is your emotional support website.
Good call. If you identify as a Skoloholic first and an employee second, what can they do? Firing you is discrimination.
Being a Viking fan could probably be classified as a mental disorder. I mean just look at how dysfunctional everybody here is. Is anybody here really normal or do we all suffer from the same disorder and that’s why we feel comfortable here?
Sadly, there is a large amount of truth in what you say.
Instead of an emotional support website, I guess you could more accurately call Skoloholics therapy or a support group and not allowing an employee time on Skoloholics would be an ADA violation.
I’m sure that our legal experts will weigh in on this soon.
I haven’t come across anybody here who is normal. Some are definitely more abnormal than others but we all got some issues.
Could also say that about the world in general, I suppose.
I’m pretty sure we checked a box signing up that made sure you weren’t right in the head.
and if we don’t have that box, that’s a hell of an idea.
Also,

is this Fil?
Get to work bean counter!
It’s best to establish a baseline. If you’re lazy now, they’ll expect you to continue to be lazy, and you should be okay. On the flip side, if you work really hard, they’ll expect you to continue to work really hard.
Wow, wages have really gone down. They were paying 18 an hour at McDonalds not long ago.
No wage shaming! But yeah, that’s like 4 bucks a day.
As long as you don’t work more than 15 minutes per day, that’s not too shabby.
Gonna take a while to save up for a new electric vehicle
Tell them you identify as a Skoloholic and if they aren’t careful they’ll need to install a bathroom specifically for you made of a chunk of the old Metrodome urinal
Hope it works out well for you. 20 hours per week sounds awesome. The “non-profit” part is a little worrisome. Hopefully they are decent people unlike the Board at Project Veritas.
This non-profit has been around since 1966. A large percent of the people that work there have been around for over a decade (or longer) and have done so because it is a nice place to work (that’s what they say anyway). This is not a large international or national non-profit. They only operate here in Western Wisconsin.
I have only 3.5 years before retirement, so hopefully this is a nice deal to carry through until then.
Follow up: There computer system went down, so I did just a half day. The office has about 15 or so women and only one other guy. I feel outnumbered.
My wife bet me that I can’t eat an entire bag of Starburst Jelly Beans*.
Challenge accepted…
*Actually, she didn’t. I’m just trying to rationalize me eating an entire back of Starburst Jelly Beans…
I like that approach…My wife bet me I couldn’t drink a whole bottle of wine.
My wife bet me I can’t spend $1000 on a new gun.
Man, I may have cracked some kind of code here…
Ha!
You gotta make sure to lose to her at some point, like get her to bet you can last more than 10 minutes.
10 minutes? No thanks.
I specialize in “I-got-mine-you-get-yourgasms.”
10 minutes sounds like a lot of work.
Not if you just lay there…
Starburst Jelly Beans are the bomb.
Cadbury Creme Eggs and Starburst Jelly Beans are my main Easter candies, even though Starburst JBs are around all year.
Cadbury mini-eggs are pretty good, too.
I like the Reese’s peanut butter rabbits.
My favorite Easter candy are the animal sweetarts with the ducks chicks and bunnies, for some reason I always start by biting off the head and then eating the body. My top five is sweetarts, cadbury mini eggs, starburtst jellybeans, chocolate covered malted milk balls (aka whoppers), and of course the classic egg peanut butter cup. The york peppermint patties honourable mention. Peeps and chocolate bunnies are total bullshit.
Peeps, especially frozen.
Next is Cadbury eggs.
Then decent chocolate bunnies.
I cannot fault your choices though. My wife puts sweetarts as #1 and she obviously has good taste since she chose me.
Yeah, I tried frozen peeps, still sucked imo, though frozen thin mints are amazing. I don’t like frosting and the cream in the cadburies is basically frosting so I don’t care for them. your wife seems like a smart lady with great taste.
how about Lindt chocolate bunnies?
None of the hollow ear bullshit, and decent tasting chocolate.
Yeah, I was thinking of the hollow ones, low grade chocolate and I always felt ripped off. Lindt makes excellent chocolate
Peeps are gross.
I’ve never been a fan of those things, either.
There’s really no reason to leave any in the bag, they might spoil.
I enjoy a good food challenge. I’ll be taking on the MOAB (mother of all burgers) soon at B-52s, a burger joint here in the cities. The MOAB is 2 lbs of hamburger, bacon curds, fried onions, and fried eggs on a 15″ french bread for a total weight of about 4 lbs. It has been a while since I’ve done a food challenge, the last time was a bbq place in CO where I ate a 12″ hogie filled with 3 lbs of different BBQ meats along with a lb of fries and a pickle. I took it down in just under 20 minutes, which was a record at the time, though it came back up w/ in 10 minutes of finishing, which now makes me think maybe it isn’t worth it to get a free meal and t-shirt if you’re gonna lose half the meal.
That’s a lot of food, man.
Yeah, I like to eat
I like watching BeardMeetsFood on YouTube do food challenges. You should video it. I’ve never tried a food challenge. I actually can’t eat that much in a single go. My mom’s side of the family is known for their stomach issues, and I inherited them.
I like B-52s but those days are gone for me (eating challenges).
That burger looks tasty, but no way could I do that now.
I figure I should do it before I get to that point. I like B-52s as well, though I’ve only been to the IGH one.
I’m guessing you’re fat getting fatter?
I’m not in the greatest shape of my life, but not fat either. I have gained about 10 pounds since having kids though. Its much more difficult to maintain a good physique with munchkins.
Yes it is.
Once they get a bit older, it gets easier because then you can run together & stuff.
Yeah that’s what I anticipate, plus the become more independent and don’t need to be visually supervised at all times.
Exactly
LOL
Maybe the simplest path is best.
I’ve been hearing a lot of chatter about Overshown.
Yeah he’s one of the fast LB who can rush that I’ve been looking at for Flores’s 3-4. Sanders from Arkansas and the Wash Cougars kid Hensley is another b
This thread if you read down from the original is a pretty amazing overview of RAS scores and how they’re applicable by position. Centers man lol…ole Bradbury.
So to understand the chart above, reading left to right LB’s are the most athletic with the largest green percentage of elite RAS scores each position moving right is less. So yes DE the centers are some of the most athletic on the field while TE and QBs are the least athletic.
Is there a Venn Diagram?
There is only one Venn Diagram sir..
Kumala said you should always ask if there is a Venn Diagram because Venn Diagrams are great. If you always ask for a Venn Diagram you get really great answers.
If Kumala were Vikings GM:
We are committed to continuing to do the things that are the things that got us to the place we are at. These things we will continue to do and not other things so that the place we are at remains the same in respect to time because of these things.
And I have never been to Soldier Field but I have been to Europe so what’s your point.
Accurate
How true…
Here’s one very fitting for you
I assume with your arrogance you think it changes with yours?
No, nobody cares about my opinions either.
Here’s one, oldie but goodie, and pretty much the only reason Skoloholics exists
LOL
Very true, though.
I need to log in.
Haha! I hadn’t seen that. One question, which category includes cancel culture and censorship? Seems to me it could fit all three of your categories.
