Nothing exceptionally significant happened in Iran overnight, except Israel took out their top military commander who had been in-place for about 5 days. He took over when his predecessor was killed on night one. Short life cycle for military leaders in Iran right now.
Looks like Trump was just telling the people in Tehran to leave for their own safety, not because a huge attack was imminent last night.
I guess he won’t be at the peace negotiations either……
So why won’t Trump let Israel take out that fanatic that is running Iran?
Taking out a Sovereign Nations leader is something Trump doesn’t support. That’s a massive step to take, and really a clear misstep. Once you condone an action like that, the repercussions globally can be catastrophic. You don’t like a Nation’s leader? Take them out. Not a good idea. In the end, the National will of the people must be turned to acceptance and desire for peace. When the Nation wants to “get along” with others peacefully, then we have the foundation for lasting peace. Trump’s messaging and even Israel’s is “we don’t want to kill you”, we want you to live in peace with us.
It was Israel doing it not us.
We are at war against terrorism and this regime and its leader are the number one funder of terror in the. world. Their Supreme Leader has proclaimed death to Israel and death to the US.
The next leader ‘may’ be just as bad, but there will. never be a lasting peace with this guy running the country.
And I can think a little bit back in history that if someone had taken out one similar fanatic millions of lives would have been saved.
In the end, like Saddam Hussein in Iraq, we need the Nation to remove their leader. Iran is mostly made up of moderate Muslims who do not support the current regime. Eventually we want the moderate majority to come to power and work with the rest of the world peacefully.
What about the next fanatic waiting to take over?

But we are involved, Israel is not going to stay around and help put Iran back together, they just want to stop the threat.
The US would be involved hopefully with the help of the moderate countries in the region.
Official US Policy is we do not negotiate with terrorists. Their leader is a terrorist. If that regime stays in power, we’re just kicking the can. Not to mention Iran will continue. to fund terrorist activities all over the world.
Iran needs to be rebuilt one way or the other, and no matter what we will always have some degree of. involvement.
Not sure I would want to be ‘The Next Man Up’ in that situation.
It’s an interesting strategy. If Israel takes out the next guy in short order (a few days) then it might really make the Generals start thinking about quitting. If they quit, the whole military may quit. If the military surrenders, then the Ayatollah has zero power. None, nada, zip. Game over.
Their Army is pretty ineffective. They might help enforce order inside Iran but they use proxies outside Iran. Not sure that that loss helps much.
Air Force is pretty much gone, they don’t have much of a Navy. What power they have left is missiles and oil and those are being taken apart by Israel.
You guys don’t play us until November. I think the Vikings will have a hard time defending our high powered offense lol.
The games are always tough. But since the Vikings swept the Pukers last year, do you guys think you can even beat us this year?

Vikings defense is better than last season. Injuries will matter, but in no world is the Packers offense better than the Vikings offense, and both defenses are decent.

Can Israel take out the Iranian reactors that are like half a mile underground without us giving them those special bombs we have?
The ‘experts’ I have heard say No.
Since the main enrichment site (not reactor) is under a mountain like NORAD (Cheyanne Mountain) it will take a lot. As I have visited and been inside that facility I wonder if even our Big Beautiful Bombs can take it out.
Of course I am no NLNVF so it is IMHO.
We have provided Israel with some “Bunker buster” type munitions, but not the really big ones.
We have the weapon that could possibly penetrate the Fordow facility; the GBU-57A/B MOP (Massive Ordnance Penetrator), a precision-guided, 30,000-pound “bunker buster” bomb that can penetrate down 200 feet before exploding.
The MOP weapon can be delivered only by the B2 stealth bomber though, so Israel can’t use it, even if we provided it to them. It is a uniquely American capability.
Since this is a precision weapon, it can hit the same target over and over, until it gets to the target depth.
Well the follow on then. Since we don’t want Iran to get a a nuclear weapon, aren’t we going to have to provide some military help?
No, because there are other capabilities/options I cannot discuss here, that Israel already possesses, to take out the facility.

Afternoon all. I went out and played my golf match, got rained on for a few holes, shot 86, and got my lunch. I came home to see a car accident on my street. Some commercial air conditioning vendor van hit an SUV almost head on. Cops were there, and it was a big mess.
I hate to brag, but I hit the golf ball so well today, it was scary. In fact I actually hit the ball too good. I had a hole where I had 82 yards to the front edge, and I hit my gap wedge over the green. About 20 yards farther than usual. No idea where all extra distance came from today but I hit a number of iron shots over greens or to the back edge.

I’m in a bit of a funk right now. Trying to practice some everyday and then go play nine. Yesterday hit the ball great and putting was poor. Today, much more mixed ball striking but short game was sharp. Go figure, that’s golf.

Spaun was incredible to post 5 bogeys then come back and win it. Spectacular last putt, of course.
I don’t know anything about your golf swing, but usually when my ball striking goes sideways, it’s a timing thing. I have told you that I say “Alabama” in my swing, to synch everything up. I did that with every shot today.
For me I have arthritis in my right shoulder and I can tell after the first practice swing on the range how solid my ball striking is going to be. This can cause some slotting issues on the downswing. And interestingly, if someone was watching me hit balls, then couldn’t tell the difference, but I can ‘feel’ it.
Thought Spaun winning was just terrific.
I’m a simple feel golfer, so I don’t know if I swing the club down in a slot, or whatever. I swing the club back till my weight is in my back heel, and my shoulder is under my chin. Then I’m focused on swinging from the inside out and striking the ground with the clubhead a couple inches past the ball. I am not aware at all how I finish.
My practice swings only focus on that inside out path, and the contact point on the ground ahead of the ball.

I actually had pretty much everything going. Hit the ball solid off the tee, hit my irons solidly, and my wedges were en fuego. Nearly chipped in three times today, and I mean everyone thought those balls were going down! Just breathed over the edge of the cup. I putted very well too.
My buddy couldn’t believe the course didn’t “bring me to my knees”.
I had steak for lunch.
Lol that sounds like a fun day. The more im playing the more I know I need to invest in some higher degree wedges and at least one hybrid club. My short came is not great because all I have is a standard pitching wedge.
You need at least a sand wedge. And a hybrid will be a big help.

First of all, hate your name. Second of all. I think it will be just as if not more competitive, however the divisions total Ws will for sure be lower. They had a historic number of wins combined. My prediction is Vikes, Pack, Detroit, Bears. With the first 3 all within a win or two of the other and the Bears at 8-9 ish wins, mostly out of division/conference.
Until we beat them, and it’s been a while, Detroit is team to beat. Vikings may catch them though. Packers third and then of course the Bears.

Band had its first gig Saturday night, got a long back story so this might be a novel of a post, kinda wish our residential SD Vikings fan was here to see it as he is also in a band. Anyway, the owner of the venue happened to have a trailer full of audio equipment, subs, amps, speakers, lights, mixer, etc. A lot of it older some from the late 80s some from late 90s, we talked him into letting us buy it for $1600 with the trailer. The gear itself is still worth like $10k at least so that was a steal. So Saturday morning, we get together, rent the stage, pick it up, set up the stage, get all the gear setup, but not hooked up, that we do not know how to do. We are relying on our sound guy to do, our sound guy who we had known a month out was supposed to be there. Nope we found out on Wednesday he mixed up the date and wont be here, he’s in MEXICO. Great. Bass player says he’ll get someone else, next day he says “Yup, got a friend of a friend coming day off, he’ll be here by 3ish, show starts at 7.
3:30 comes and goes, he aint here, were getting nervous and upset, 4 arrives, still not there, dude finally calls us back and says his piece of shit car overheated and he cant make it. We go full panic mode, I say fuck it, im making the phone calls with people I actually know and trust, no more friend of a friend. We end up getting a guy that multiple people knew to get down there by 5:30. Turns out he’s a member of the band Zawarte (a local 80s and 90s staple) and this sound equipment is a rig HE actually built with a gave named Mike I believe. What area the odds of that? Anyway, he goes oh hell yeah this is our old rig I know all of this but when we upgraded I gave this stuff to Mike and it looks like he fucked with a lot of it and wired it wrong so I have to decipher that first, so he did, for two hours, then got us wired, and then started sound check, show started an hour late but we got it in, still played 31 songs and had a blast. Now we got offers from other people wanting us to play so we must have done well. It was an experience to say the least.

Congrats! As a former band guy (Alto, tenor and bari sax in a cover band in the 80s) I really get the itch to play every time I see music live. Then I remember that I hate staying up that late. Bar close is 3 hours or more past my bedtime now.
I may go back to Theater work. Does not pay as well, but at least the shows are over earlier.
I also play tenor sax in a band! Our local city band, just in the summer, 5 concerts in June/July on Tuesdays, rehearse before the concert. 4th of July is the best one, I’ll be on vacation so have to miss it.
I played alto sax in highschool, jazz quartet made it to sate a few times haha
Now I want to hear Surly belt out Baker Street…
can do. At least I could when I played regularly. Actually a very easy song.
Much more fun was playing songs like Sir Duke or Birdland in the jazz bands.
For our cover band, we played a lot of Segar, Blues Brothers, J Geils band, stones, and some older 60’s rock that utilized a full horn section. We had trumpet, trombone, and two sax players. Was fun.
One I specifically remember playing in college. This song was a blast. Our poor trumpet player….

No, not quite. We have videos that our family and friends took. The venue recorded some things and put it on their Facebook page, its all cell phone footage though so the audio isnt great.
