Well, I’ll be scarce around here for a few days, my surgery is this morning and I’m guessing I’ll be out of commission as far as typing goes for a bit. I’m sure looking forward to getting use of my hand again, so I’ve been looking forward to today.
We’ve been making some minor changes to the site, with more changes in the works. We’ve transitioned away from reporting news, since there are a billion other sites where you can find that content, and moving more toward more forward looking articles. “What if” articles and the like. Mick, Skolly, and I are going to start a podcast soon, and Rob is going to put together a live mock draft for those interested in participating. Was just watching the replay of Tigers Masters win in 2019… checking back in to see what’s going on.

I was watching the Masters updates and looking like the weather is going to be absolutely horrid. Dammit. Rain all four days and cold (55) Sat and Sun (64). No way Tiger can over come that walk four days and cold weather. His average score over the majors per round since he won in 2019 is 73.6. That is not going to get it done against these youngsters who are averaging 3-5 strokes less. We’ll see but that is a lot to overcome on a hard course.
If it’s rainy and cool, I totally agree with you Tiger is out. Might not even make the cut. Let’s face it. As Fred Couples said today, that leg isn’t ever getting better. Tiger’s body is pretty damn fit and strong, but it’s been through too many train wrecks. He has the golfing body of a 60 year old.

Several months ago, right after we moved down here, I was at the grocery store with my wife and went to get butter and milk. As I was in the dairy section there was a lady who strongly resembled Blanch who gave me a look over, and very strong seductive smile. That’s fair. That’s my thinking on I’ve started doing freezing cold showers in the morning. The studies on how much it helps all your good hormones and pushes down stress hormones etc… the 30 seconds to 3 minutes of it sucking ass is worth the next 5-7 hours of benefit.
I tried that…definitely works but goddam is that uncomfortable. I had to ease in to it, little colder each day till finally I could stand it. The start hot then get cold did not work for me. How people get in to tubs of ice and water I will never know. Can’t do it.
Haha, I loved ice baths in college when playing football. So don’t get me wrong, it still sucks but I jump right in that shower head first and just go for it lol.

i have had insanely swollen tonsils/throat/sinuses for the last 3 plus months. multiple rounds of antibiotics don’t do anything, steroids dont do anything.
she got the camera up into my nose and throat and couldn’t believe how i was even breathing well (i don’t breath well, it’s sucked sleeping the last 3 plus months), she said i need it and need it ASAP

I had the same thing happen, was having legit airway obstruction. I went to the ER and they admitted me immediately and gave me IV antibiotics and I had tonsillectomy done within 10 days.

I’ve never been a big bird guy, but my last job we had a program where we packaged bird seed and made bird feeders so I put one outside my window with some seed. Mostly just in the winter did any feed, but I did have a consistent bunch of nuthatches and chickadees that would eat all winter along with what I learned was a red bellied woodpecker. I kind of got to enjoy the birds and I’d see new stuff once in a while and have to try to figure out what it was.

Bird feeders are kind of fun. Hummingbird feeders are my favorite. Those things are amazing, and sometimes you can get pretty close to them. I was even able to touch one once. There was a bully hummingbird keeping one away from feeding, so I chased the bully away, and the other one was so desperate for food that it came and ate even though I was standing right there.

Chris Barnes. That was their early/original singers name. He went on to do Six Feet Under (yuck). Current singer is Corpsegrinder Fisher. Opeth has had a very long career and they can go from super heavy death metal to ambient chill instrumentals. Their singer is incredible at all of it and he’s their main song writer and lead guitarist. Musical genius that guy. I will say if Metalcore is more your thing than death metal then another band equally impressive as far as being able to do everything is Between the Buried and Me. More on the core side than death metal.
I’ve jammed them before. In metal core I get more old school nostalgic Killswitch type stuff. I think the new Cattle Decapitation is going to be the album of the year. Their 2019 album was absolutely incredible!
Now thats some heavy shit lol. Vocals need some time to grow on me, glad they got a little melodic in the middle there, cant be constant growling or it wears thin on me.
I was the same way until Opeth. I hated guttural vocals. But then they have an album called Damnation that is all like their acoustic/proggy/bluesy stuff, no gutturals and I loved that album and it got me to listen to more Opeth.
I finally did my own Vocals on a track. Lots I would do different on the recording and mixing going forward but the Vocals turned out OK. All more guttural. We’ll see if I try doing melodic stuff sometime.

Classic hot and cold moments last week.
Thursday was National Doctor’s Day, got lots of texts and emails thanking me for what I do.
Friday there was a physician meeting to discuss the financials of the organization. I was in transit from Orlando back to Bismarck so missed the meeting. When we landed in Bismarck I had a simple text stating that CME funds were frozen, the employee match to the 403(b) was axed for the remainder of the year, and physician pay cut by 5% until at least the end of June, with no discussion in the text as to what will change by July 1.
I’m thinking asking about a Doctor’s Day gift. What do you think?

Took out my frustrations yesterday on the tractor, pushing mud around and dragging a box blade up and down the road.
That sucks, at least you got home friday though, my flight from Orlando to MPLS Friday evening was cancelled, so I had to stay an extra day and fly out the next morning.
Oh no! That is why we like to fly early flights, too many horror stories of getting stuck in MSP or SLC if you try to take the last flight out. Would have been a PITA if that happened to us, we had checked out of the time share (although we technically “own it” until this Saturday 4/8), plus the whole transport back to the timeshare. I’m sure staying at the airport hotel would have been awesome.
Same. Last flight out is a gamble.
I didn’t have much choice, training seminar lasted until 4:30 (about 30 mins from airport at that time of day), only two flights after that were 6:20 pm, which would have been a roll of the dice to make it on time, or 8:40pm. There may have been other options but I won’t fly anything but Delta. I really needed to get home that night b/c the Mrs. had to report for military duty the next day at 0700. It was a scramble to figure out what to do with the baby until I was able to get home the next morning at around 10am, but we figured it out.

So I listed all the defensive players on our roster today down below. Free agency is pretty much over, and the draft looms. Which group is most lacking on the defensive side? I’d say middle linebacker for sure. Not one of those guys excite me… at all. CB is next. Murphy was a decent addition. The rest are not really looking like game changers to me. I mean Booth and Evans “might” end up being good, but the jury is still out IMO.
CB depth is a massive problem. We have 3 starting CBs that are injury prone.
OLBs is a massive concern given Z Smith will be a post june 1 cut/trade. Davenport has potential and Hunter is not playing with his current salary. Davenport is set to make more.
I like our Safeties, DTs, and ILB
We have 8 OLB’s on the roster now for two positions on the field. I do think Z. Smith is potentially a post 1 June trade/cut option. I would hope we would trade him and get something in return, but we shall see.
Yeah they all suck pretty much except Z Hunter and likely Davenport. Z is gone for sure, and Hunter needs more money otherwise he’s not showing up. Zero chance he’s thrilled an unproven player in Davenport is getting more money.
Also zero chance they cut/trade both Z and Hunter. One of them likely stays and its more likely Hunter. Unless they draft OLB round 1
Outside of Z and Hunter, Jones was best edge player last year. I don’t know how he graded in run grade or coverage but his sack per snap % was better than both Z and Hunter. I expect Hunter or Z won’t be back next season.
Jones showed some promise but still unproven. But yeah… Z and Hunter both aren’t returning. One will go.

I have never really dug A7X. Not sure why, even in their metal core days I tried and like it wasn’t bad, just didn’t click with me. Then when they decided they wanted to be the Nickelback of metal (I’m kidding… sort of), that didn’t do it for me either. I do have a funny story though. The first time in LA and this was after their drummer died… I was standing at an In and Out Burger (first visit) and I had a shirt on that said on the back, “If Death Metal is Dead then I’m a Zombie”. I get a tap on my should and the middle aged guy behind me goes, “You like metal?” And I go “yeah.” He got the big beaming smile and goes, “Avenged Sevenfold?” And I go, “Not really.” And immediately his smile left his face and he looked embarrassed and goes, “Oh I’m sorry, my son is the new drummer.” and I was like, “Oh I mean… they’re good!” Haha felt like an ass. Flores defenses are based on the Bellichek models. Heavy blitzing and man coverage.
The biggest question mark is going to be the secondary… but we knew that.
getting pressure with the blitz will be key to helping those guys out.
Our defenses went heavy soft zone (especially at the end of the half and the end of the game) beginning in 2019. The theory was, give up lots of yards, then stop them in the red zone and don’t give up lots of points. Well the give up lots of yards part worked perfectly… the stop them in the red zone and don’t give up points, not so much.
I don’t know what Flores will do with the cast of characters assembled. Last year we kept 6 interior linemen (DE and NT) and 5 OLB. We kept 4 ILB’s, and 10 DB’s (safeties and corners) to make-up the defense. 25 players of the 53 were on defense.

Vikings defense was top 5 in NFL in ppg in 2019, that’s not really a great year to use as an example.

Ben, you are correct. The defense allowed like 18 points a game and the offense scored 25 points a game. We went 10-6 and beat the Saints in a playoff game that year. 2019 was a good year.

Kirk wants guaranteed money, but cannot guarantee he will not suck on 4th and 8.
I have no idea what the answer is, but Kirk is not going to win a championship by carrying any team. So you need a much better defense for him to be the winning QB of a super bowl. If Kwesi can manufacture a great defensive roster around Kirk, I am for it, even though I will still whine every time Kirk makes a bad decision.

Have to say no QB ever in the history of the NFL has “carried” a bad team to a Championship. Last year Brady had a great year from a production perspective. His team was a loser. Over the course of the last 5 years, only three QB’s in the NFL have thrown more TD’s than Cousins. He has done his job at an exceptionally high rate. The rest of the team has not. In the end the Vikings got what they paid for. A reliable, durable, competent, capable, and consistently good QB, who has outproduced all but three of his peers.
I saw John Elway drag some pretty shitty Broncos teams to the SB back in the day.
