Minnesota Vikings Talk
Details have been revealed about Kevin O’Connell’s contract, and it looks like it’s a five-year deal worth $65 million. That’s encouraging, as it shows that all the rumors that the Vikings were considering trading their head coach were just click-bait fodder for the mainstream media watching crowd. Most of us knew as much as soon as we heard the rumors, but it’s nice to have confirmation.
Speaking of extensions, Byron Murphy is one Vikings free agent that I believe the team will try to re-sign and bring back. He’s one of the better cornerbacks in the league, he’s only 27 years old, so I think that Kwesi-Adofo Mensah should try to lock him in to a 3-year deal. The team has enough holes to fill on the roster next year, and not many draft picks to use to fill them (for now). Signing guys like Murphy will be vital if the team wants to continue their defensive revival.
Super Bowl LIX
I think that it’s fitting that it’s called Super Bowl LIX, because this Super Bowl Sucks, too. Get it, LIX = licks? I’m sticking by my vow to now watch the Superb Owl this year, I’ll be ice fishing. We’re having kiddo’s birthday party that day (his actual birthday is the day before), and after that, I’m hitting the ice. I know that the NFL had a say in getting the Chiefs into the game, plus I hate the Eagles, so hopefully I can latch on to some walleye or perch. If not, it’ll still be better than watching that s*** show. SKOL!!!!!!!
Vikings News
CBS Sports reported that Vikings fans rank fifth in Super Bowl drinking. I call BS, that seems low.
Vikings.com looks at the team’s safeties in their 2024 Vikings position recap.
Also from Vikings.com, Byron Murphy scored a TD and was the defensive MVP, and JJ scored a TD in the NFC’s Pro Bowl win.
Over at MinnesotaSportsFan, they share details of KOC’s new contract, shared by Charlie Walters at the Pioneer-Press (the actual article is behind a paywall).
O’Connell’s new contract is expected to average nearly $15 million a year over four years, meaning the Vikings are committed to him for the next five years for about $65 million. The deal leaves O’Connell, 39, among the top half-dozen paid coaches in the NFL.Charley Walters – Pioneer Press
NFL News
Chip Kelly has been hired by the Raiders to be their new offensive coordinator, from CBS Sports.
From the Washington Post, the NFL is considering using electronics, but not chips, to measure first downs next year. LOL, of course they won’t use chips. I’m guessing the electronics will be something that is able to be manipulated to favor certain teams.
From the NY Times, it was a defensive battle as the NFC beat the AFC 76-63 in the Pro Bowl flag football game.
Media Selection
I love Bill Burr, he has a knack for using humor to make a point. I agree with him completely, I think the NFL influencing games is so obvious that it isn’t even debatable anymore.

- Keep politics out. We are adults, news happens, and we can talk about it. What we don’t want is to go down the rabbit holes and turn a productive conversation into name calling and personal attacks.
- Be cool to one another. Like it says above, just be civil. You don’t need to agree with everyone and that’s fine, you also don’t need to make it personal. Attack the argument not the poster.
- Keep the NSFW to a minimum. We don’t need anyone getting in trouble at work for hanging out here.
- All in all, be adults. Treat each other with respect and things will be fine. Mods will take out content they feel is pushing the boundary. If you want to reach out about something feel free to ask. We want to have robust discussions, that’s why we’re here, just be civil.

Goodell admits the NFL could have “professional flag football”…
We all knew this is where the NFL was headed. How long will it take?
People are also gonna quit watching because it’s rigged.
Yup, this.
Wrenage, I watched The Killer this weekend after reading your review. I thought it was a really good show. I might watch it again.
I started watching The Heretic last night, I’m gonna finish that later today.
When the wind chill is 30 below zero, there isn’t much else to do besides watch movies or play video games.
US has been rolled on for so long, the experts claim it can’t work.
Stupid is as stupid does.
MLB ump fired for betting.
Never happen in the NFL.
https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/43680990/mlb-upholds-firing-ump-pat-hoberg-gambling-violations
Promote gambling more and more. What could go wrong?
I’m sure it’s happening.
It just hasn’t been discovered yet.
If it is discovered, the NFL will sweep it under the rug.
Of course it will.
No doubt some of that disappeared as soon as it showed up in the Ukraine.
Of course they claimed that they never got it all.
They shouldnt have received a single penny.
Hardly a surprise. Sending that kind of money with no acountability was crazy to begin with.
Zelensky’s pocket. I don’t trust him at all.
Canadians booing American national anthem. My last fishing trip to Canada.
Tariffs on Canada on hold for one month after Trump and Trudeau have phone call this afternoon.
I heard songs from Frozen a lot this past week being at Disney, so now the stupid Let it Go song won’t stop running through my head. I think I should seek professional help.
Did you have to take out a second mortgage to visit the parks?
I am so so so glad that the timeshare weeks sold down in Kissimmee. No flights to book, no long long travel day from armpit USA to Orlando, etc…plus no maintenance fees this year. I’m nouveau rich!
Pretty much. I was shocked to see the ticket prices. We were able to use my son’s army discount and we got 4 day hopper passes several hundred dollars cheaper than what peons have to pay for a 3 day hopper pass. I don’t know if you saw my comment that Make-a-Wish sent Zeph and family to Disney for a week, so, as my son said to me, that was a once in a lifetime event for them. They had free lodging at the Give Kids the World Village (we got in on that also), free tickets to Disney, Universal and Sea World (we didn’t even have time to go to Sea World) plus free airfare. The kids got to talk to the pilots on the flights and got to sit in the pilots chair for a photo op. Also, they received unlimited usage of the lightening lanes for all of the rides and photo ops with characters (we got in that for free also).
We used to have a timeshare in Kissimmee, but we got out of it years ago.
Oh my goodness that sounds fantastic! I had not seen the Make-a-Wish comment, I had several work entanglements on the non clinical side of things that kept me 100% occupied last week, and the week before was the grueling CME in Hawaii.
They had a great time and I cannot say enough about the Give Kids the World Village. Once we stepped through the gates, everything was included. There were so many volunteers that were giving back to families that have gone through so much tragedy.
I live very near Disney and as a Florida residence get cheap year round passes to the parks.
But I am amazed at the prices. We were (are) a family of five and there is no way we could have afforded airfare, hotel and meals, and then the park costs for a week.
Yet I see families from all over the country all the time. We either have a lot of rich people, or a lot of folks with huge credit card balances.
Disney is beyond expensive.
I’m going with the huge credit card balances. My DIL was saying that there is a boutique in one of the parks that would do girls hair, etc to look like one of the princesses. It cost $300 a pop. We saw one family that all three of the girls had obviously had it done. The food at the Village was free, but we couldn’t always eat there as we were at the parks a lot and the cafeteria closed at 8pm. The food at the parks was generally 2 to 3 times the cost of the fast food we stopped at a couple of times on the way back to the villa, and the food at the park wasn’t any better than the fast food.
So true. It’s always been expensive but over the last few years service and quality have really tanked. Yet folks keep coming.
Glad to hear you and your family had a wonderful experience at the village.
It was awesome. One day we were eating breakfast at the cafeteria and a volunteer came by and started doing magic tricks for the kids. He told us that he is from Connecticut but they spend some time down in FL during winter. His wife gets bored, so she volunteers cleaning services at the village. She convinced him to use his talents and volunteer. It was fun watching my DIL’s face because she couldn’t figure out the tricks. So many people volunteer there. It is awesome and everyone was so nice.
Sadly, in a good way, your post makes me realize I need to to get off my butt and do some quality volunteer work. I have lots of time.
We went there a couple years ago, spent almost $15,000 for 3 of us (2 adults & 1 kid).
And it’s even more expensive now.
Yikes. We won’t return to the Disney Parks, had fun at Universal last time, gonna go to Marco Island on our next visit.
Marco is great. Daughter got married there. Terrific beaches.
I have a good version of a Frozen song I use for a ring tone.
Will you help me hide a body,
come on we can’t delay.
No one can see him on the floor,
get him out the door,
before he can decay.
I thought you were my buddy
We won’t get caught
Just help me and don’t ask why.

It doesn’t have to be in one piece.
Nice.
Shoveling snow is a decent workout.
Never had to do it in SoCal, last time was when stationed in Ft Carson Col, a long time ago.
This is the 2nd time this year, it went better this time.
You need a snowblower in Idaho.
Nah.
Area I have to shovel isn’t that big and it is only needed a couple times a year here in Nampa.
Now it I was up north…..
Banana belt up there!
We average about 19 inches of snow a year.
Coeur d’alene averages about 37, and theirs stays on the ground longer due to lower temps.
It’s sooper cold here right now so the snow is extremely fluffy and easy to shovel. It is the late March early April snow that is a back breaker.
True story.
Gotta go run some errands in Tampa. Ya’ll behave now.
Skolholics After Dark!
I kinda miss the gifs/gaffes/memes/word salads.
I don’t, not even a little.
Congrats!
You have been unburdened by what has been.
wordle?
AC DC… nice.
Tariffs don’t work (per the experts).
See where Mexico has just agreed to put 10,000 troops at border to help with the drug problem. Trump is delaying tariffs for 30 days.
Seems positive to me.
I think it will be significantly more convoluted with Canada. Highly developed nation, EU and Commonwealth ties, etc…
I think Trump is a power they can’t deal with. He will beat them into submission.
Isn’t the only thing we get from Canada maple syrup?
Molson, oil, Crown,
Well, we don’t need their oil, and Trump is about to show them that. We can wreck their economy in a week if we want.
Nice to have a President with a pair of balls.
I think the oil may be carved out some but it will hurt if not. The refineries up here are specifically designed to refine the tar sands crude. There are many other impacts that I know of and this will potentially affect us pretty heavily. All I’ll say is there is a quite of bit of fertilizer imported from Canada that the US suppliers will not be able to supply.
I have a feeling though the tariffs are never going to go into effect or if they do they will be short lived.
Hopefully it all ends in bluster but it appears at this moment that Canada is interpreting this as a trade war. I don’t think the bogus 51st state rhetoric is going to help the American case.
Trump knows rule one is, always negotiate from a position of power. You don’t beg others on bended knee to work with you, you lay down the law.
I have the same amount of skin in the game as everyone else. If this escalates into a trade war, the markets will feel the pain, the gas pumps will feel the pain, and if it continues and the Windsor plants have to shutter their doors and lay off workers the auto industry will really feel the pain, and once the workers are gone well they might not come back.
Doom and Gloom Maybe’s.
It is a problem that needs fixing. DJT is fixing it.
There are those that do and those that complain.
I will not complain that he is doing something about the problems.
Damn right. He’s trying to fix a major problem. And yes it might cost something to do so. If we wait for no cost solutions we’ll be waiting forever.
Amen.
Woke Democruds are all ready playing up any and all possible downsides.
Of course they don’t mention the downsides of letting the problems fester.
I’m just curious, what is the problem that needs fixing vis a vis Canada?
Trade imbalance.
$80 Billion as of last stats in ’22.
I didn’t pose the question to be flippant, I was genuinely curious what people think the issue is…trade imbalance has everything to do with energy imports (oil, natural gas, power) from Canada. Part of the advantage to the US consumption of Canadian energy is the spot rate of the two currencies.
https://economics.td.com/ca-canada-us-trade-balance
‘Based on Statistics Canada data’
Thats Canada take on it.
I for one am postponing making plans to go visit my mom and sisters this summer. If this drags out being a visible American in Calgary would not invite otherwise normally polite behavior from some.
My brother has a trailer up there and we are going up with them the last week of July. Hopefully everyone is getting along by then. Of course, we will on a lake and probably won’t see too many Canadians.
The tariffs have now been delayed at least 30 days.
Mexico’s tariffs have been held off since they agreed to send troops to the border. I have not heard about Canada or China’s being delayed.
So far wins over Columbia, Panama and Mexico.
Canada is going to get its arse handed to them on this one MT. Their economy is far more dependent on the US.
I also think this may be more about criminal border crossings.
Just my take.
I don’t pretend to understand all the in’s and outs of the oil trade, but I do understand this. If Trump drills big time, and dumps a bunch of cheap oil on the market, every oil producing country in the world is going to suffer. Oil at $35 a barrel will wreck Iran, Russia, and any other country profiting off high oil prices.
I don’t disagree, but that infrastructure is years away at best. When the Ukraine stuff was kicking off they should have flooded the market with oil and Russia would have been crippled.
I don’t think so Bow. We were producing enough oil to fully support our entire energy needs, plus have surplus to sell on the open market, before Biden. That infrastructure is still there. More infrastructure or newer infrastructure will come, but I doubt we don’t have enough right now. Refinery’s are one thing, crude oil is another.
Crude still needs to be transported and wells are now capped or shut off. You can’t just turn them on.
I’m going to go with bow on this one.
You know this highlights a problem we Americans have. We want ‘ no cost ‘ solutions.
we lose over 100 thousand Americans yearly from those drugs coming across those borders. How much are those lives worth and isn’t it reasonable that we might have to pay some upfront to get a handle on this?
We get paper and steel from them, my nephew (says he’s libertarian, but he’s really a liberal) worked for a newspaper and told me that the paper was going to have to shut down because of the 40% tariffs from Trumps last term. “It’s suppression of freedom of speech” is what he told me. BTW the newspaper is still functioning.
Fear mongering is what the Libs do best.
Remember all the coastal cities are suppose to be underwater due to climate change by now.
Yep, I tried to get him to tell me how much paper is in and issue, and asked if raising the price of subscriptions would cover it. He threw out a bunch of numbers, and when I used that information to figure out how much paper was in an issue, it came up to somewhere around $60/issue for a very small town weekly paper. When I showed him my formula for coming up with the cost of paper per issue, he blocked me on all social media.
I really wanted to know what the cost of paper per issue was, because I read articles from the NYT and Washington Post saying the same thing, that it was suppression of the 1st amendment.
He couldn’t handle the truth.
I am a little aggro’d.
Employer conducting a (first time) audit of dependents carried on health insurance plan.
I got a (poorly formatted) email to log in to a system, enter some personal identifying information to access…of course I thought it was a phish until I received a followup email from a trusted sender in HR verifying it was legit.
To confirm my wife should be on my health insurance plan, I need to:
1 Submit a copy of page 1 of form 1040, redact first five of SSN
2 Submit a copy of a joint bank statement, redact financial information
3 Submit a copy of our marriage certificate
I submitted a copy of our electric bill and a car insurance bill, demonstrating cohabitation. Had a hulu julu coming to Jeebus interaction with HR that I’m not going to have a bunch of information stored on an electronic server by some company (Consova) for the duration of my employment + 18 months. Told them I would swing by HR with a hand carried marriage certificate next time I’m in Billings. Talked to the state insurance commissioner who agreed he would not submit documents to a portal, said that really as they have direct deposit information he found the documents requested to be odd.
Consova emailed me today, said if I don’t submit documentation by March 25 my spouse will be removed from my health insurance.
I am waiting for a call from the CEO administrative assistant to set up a phone call.
I can tell I’m going to drag this right out all the way to March 25. Principle of the thing.
You’ll drag it out to the 25th and end up having to cave.
Oh trust me I know the end of the novel but I just have to go through the chapters page by page.
It’s going to take me until March 25th to finish reading MTs post.
TL;DR my wife called my employer’s HR department and dropped a couple of f-bombs.
That usually helps.
Hawt!
Who? The actress or MT’s wife?
Yes
Appreciate you plight. But have been on the other side of the problem. At my company we were concerned with rising health care costs. So we did a similar audit and found 35 % of the ‘dependents’ were not legit.
Yes, I went so far as to petition LC (as an MEC member) that any members of medical staff filing fraudulent insurance claims need to come before MEC for discussion of the issue. There is an attestation during open enrollment that your dependents are accurate. I’m just surprised they would go to this length to have me prove my spouse is my spouse. Like I said, I’m okay with letting them look over my marriage certificate (there’s nothing on there outside the public domain) but a 1040 with W2 income, investment income, etc…?
I know exactly how you should deal with this situation: TARIFFS!
This is extremely interesting.
Do illegal immigrants have to prove anything?
I thought, what if my spouse was a trans woman? That’s probably a protected class and verboten to ask for such documentation.
They also emailed me later this morning and said the documentation was no good, so I sent a copy of the bank statement from a bank account that we are sundowning that has no connection with our majority banking interests.
Silly (stupid} season almost here. USA Todays Andrew Harbaugh proposed player swap with Chiefs:
Chiefs get JJ (25 yrs old)
Vikings receive DT Chris Jones (30 yrs old)
^^Jefferson
Certainly Jones is a difference maker on defense, but I doubt KAM would buy into a straight up trade for JJ.
JJ is only going into the second year of his rookie deal and is the future of the franchise. Plus, why would the Chefs give up a defensive playmaker for what would amount to a backup QB for them?
Jefferson, not McCarthy…
Wrong JJ here.
There is only one JJ. Words matter.
They just need to get rid of one or the other. Whoever had the lesser performance last year, I guess.
It appears you think only your position on this matters… sorry, it doesn’t.
You could take Jefferson’s word for it. He said there is only one JJ on the team and it’s not him.
Jefferson doesn’t get a vote in it either…
Jefferson said
Nobody cares… I will refer to anyone, anyway I wish. Just like I call the Reskins, the Redskins.
And I call my wife “boss”. 👍
Smart man.
‘I will refer to anyone, anyway I wish’
Then don’t be surprised when people are confused about who you are referring to.
Albert Breer says, Myles Garrett made his trade request public today, but the Browns position on Garrett has not changed. The team has no plans to deal him.
(But that certainly won’t stop teams from calling.)
‘The team has no plans to deal him’
And that won’t keep the Browns from trading him.
We have seen how that works.
Agreed… “make me an offer I can’t refuse”… is what they’re really saying.
“The only way we will give you Garrett is if you take Watson”
Laughing… so hard… good call Bow.
Vikings should offer a 6th for Garrett, Watson and a first.
A buddy of mine got to hang out with John Randle the other day.
He had some pretty good stories. Here’s one of them.
I told him I saw McKinnie and Dixon eating at the mall food court one time during training camp in Mankato…
And he laughed… He said that was because those guys didn’t want to eat what they were supposed to be eating on campus so they would leave and go pound the food somewhere else
And they would be gaining weight and then The team officials were like how are you guys gaining weight?
John ratted them out lol 😂
Interesting…..
Not sure how that’s possible.
John Randle’s last year in Minnesota was 2000.
McKinnie’s Vikings career didn’t start until 2002.
CTE
You’re over thinking it. Just go with it.
When he is referring to “those guys”, he meant the offensive linemen.
He actually mentioned that.
Reigning NFL Defensive Player of the Year, DE Myles Garrett, has requested a trade. He wants to win a Super Bowl, and knows his chances are about zero in that regard, playing for the Browns. Browns are gonna want a couple of first round picks and maybe more though, to make the deal.
Can he play Guard?
Or at least NT?
Well, we are paying a lot for our defensive ends at the moment, with Greenard and Van Ginkel both in the top five of our salary cap hits, and we have two more guys who I think can carry the water. Garrett is undoubtedly the best in the league, but we don’t have enough draft capitol and really, we don’t need him.
Exactly the point I was so unsuccessful at making.
He’s 30 years old.
These proposals are laughable. 2 1’s and more?! LMFAO!
Ya, no thanks. Dude is past his prime.
I think several penalties need to be rescinded/changed. First, taunting. Is there a dumber penalty in all of professional sports? You are acting like these full grown adults are children, who require the Ref’s to modify their social graces. My God, wake up and smell the damn coffee. Talking smack is part of sports.
Second, I have never understood why RB’s can put their hands all over a defenders facemask while stiff arming them, but if any defender brushes their hand up against a QB’s facemask (or a receivers), it’s 15 yards. Incidental contact occurs. It’s a physical, violent game. If someone grabs someone by the facemask to tackle them, then it’s 15 yards. If a guys is trying to get to the passer and accidentally contacts his helmet or facemask, it’s just part of the game.
PI on underthrown passes needs to be changed. The defender is in perfect position, the ball is underthrown, the receiver pulls up to try and catch it, and by all forces of nature interacting, there is a collision. Then the flag comes out. Total BS call.
The face mask by the offensive player makes no sense – if the penalty’s origin is about player safety. You see guys like Henry and Allen really jack hammer a defender in. the face and nothing. Makes no sense.
PI and illegal contact need a lot of work and I have no idea what offensive holding is.
At my wife’s birthday dinner, I got into a discussion with one of the husbands about the “tuck rule”. Both of us played football in college, and both of us had never heard of the tuck rule, when it was called. We laughed, and one of the wives asked what the tuck rule was. Our answer? It’s when a QB fumbles the ball, but the ref’s decide it’s not really a fumble. The NFL took a game winning fumble by Tom Brady away from the Raiders in a playoff game, and let the Patriots win, basically, I said. The wife then said “I love Tom Brady” and we rolled our eyes.
And that call was the start of it all for the Patriots.
Indeed it was.
They needed the Patriots to win after 9-11 to make the US more Patriotic.
PI is a game breaker for sure. Hate it. A team could play the perfect game and then get burned by a single bad PI call and lose.
I really don’t know how to fix it, though.
Maybe they needed to allow the defense an extra player in the secondary that is not allowed to crash the line or something to offset the offensive advantage.
Yeah, but I think the “offensive advantage” is built in by the league. They really prefer high scoring affairs, and dramatic finishes. It’s more entertaining.
I see there is talk about implementing GPS tracking for first downs after all the kerfluffall about the Bills/Chiefs game.
I am actually all for this. I don’t like the Kentucky windage officials use on ball placement, and bringing out the chains slows the game down.
Then it further slows things down when the spot gets challenged.
Do it, NFL!
i have always wondered with all the technology we have today, we still rely on old men putting the ball where they think they saw it go…
there should be a billion sensors that can be all over the field and in the football to give it the EXACT placement.
i suppose people will argue saying that’s part of the game, human error. Those people are also against robot umpires which i am also a fan of getting those installed ASAP.
refs and umpires shouldn’t determine the outcome of the game. the PLAYERS should.
So do you actually think that some GPS sensor will fix errors?
Where in the football is the GPS sensor?
Will kicking a ball with a GPS sensor move the sensor within the ball?
Will the GPS sensor ever just fail?
Is there now a GPS specialist ref on the field?
Wouldn’t there need to be GPS sensors on the players also? It doesn’t matter where the ball is when it hits the ground, it matters where it is when the player is down or out of bounds.
I would guess they would still need some review to see where knee or elbow went down. Then they’d take the position of the ball from that frame.
Yep.
Not as easy as just “adding GPS”.
In theory, it should be better.
But unintended consequences are there.
all good questions. idk.
perhaps it’s a terrible idea.
I just feel like there has to be a better way than old men looking and being like NOPE IT’S RIGHT HERE
That’s ageist.
If you want to get rid of old men refs, just have girls in bikinis as the refs. Ratings will increase. Who cares about the games outcome!
I’ll buy that for a dollar!
Does the LFL still exist?
Nope.
True story.
My Niece was on the Green Bay team.
Scandal!
Those are reasonable questions.
I’d like to see them experiment with it and see.
Meanwhile, I want them to go back to white ref pants. That was a bridge too far.
Also, where is the GPS tracker located at the point the ball carrier is down. I don’t see GPS really working for this, there will still be judgement calls as to when the carrier is down.
Yep.
there would have to be a GPS monitor over every square inch of the field to determine where the ball should be spotted.
I know the premise of the topic is for first downs, but I don’t think it’s as simple as people think it is.
I would envision them using it only on the first down line and goal line on close plays.
I don’t really see a need for it on anything that isn’t within a yard of either of those lines.
But if you miss a spot by a yard early in a drive, that could be the yard the team comes up short by later.
Exactly the point.
Eff it up all the way to the first down sticks, but then claim it works at the first down sticks?
So rather than where the ball is spotted after the play, it will now be up to where the GPS spot is made on the previous first down.
It does muddy the water for the NFL to cheat even more.
Who programs the GPS?????
I don’t like Kentucky windage much earlier. But it seems far worse mistakes on offensive holding. illegal contact and PI. that’s where the big ‘crimes’ are committed.
This does always make me chuckle when 20 year old players are tackled, and 50 year old men run from behind the play to officially spot the ball after the play.
I always go back to, don’t let the refs decide the game. If you are truly better than the other team, you got to put them away. But, it is getting tougher to do that now with the refs/NFL seemingly wanting every game to come down to the last play.
I didn’t watch any of the Pro Bowl stuff.
I don’t know if I will watch the Super Bowl because of the teams that are in it.
The NFL is getting stupider.
I picked up a respiratory bug on vacation and feel like crap.
That is a lot of “I”. It must be all about me today.
My grandson reminds of the kids from Family Circus because he can’t seem to walk from one point to the next without making a detour.
I think everyone in the world is getting that bug. I just got over it. Wife now has it.
Stay home. Flatten the curve!
Great idea. I will take a page out of the expert Covid playbook and stay home for a year.
Just file unemployment for 48 months
Excellent idea, especially since the non-profit I work for operates mostly from federal grants and if there is a pause, I will probably not have anything to do anyway.
Don’t forget your mask or masks.
I’m surprised my son and I didn’t get it. My wife had it pretty bad.
I’m not watching the Super Bowl.
Just cuz I like getting kicked in the balls, I’ll ask, “Did you get a flu shot?”
I’ve been meaning to, but did not yet. My bad.
Willingly let the government inject nano trackers into me? No thanks.
Heh heh that must be why the TSA flags me every single time.
Or it’s the fake Canadian passport. 😉
My wife and daughter both got the flu shot.
And got the flu.
So it worked I guess.
Maybe it was milder?
Seeing a lot of bad influenza pneumonia this year. By bad I mean their lungs have an organizing pneumonia appearance on CT.
obviously the ProBowl is a joke, but it always has been, so the different things they have done to is now has actually made it fun to watch with the kids. They LOVED all the ridiculousness of it. tug of war? the kids LOVED it. they were just always so excited when a vikings player popped onto the screen
I don’t know if it always has been a joke, but it has been for the last 20 or 30 years. Before the players started making Monopoly money, the game was a little more intense.
The first Pro Bowl game I remember watching had Joe Senser in it.
I remember watching “Superstars” back in the late 70’s.
It wasn’t at the pro bowl, but it’s own series of competitions.
I liked watching that as a kid.
I do like the games better than the pro bowl they used to have
They should make it mean something, like winning team gets free massages from Tucker’s or Watson’s masseuse. Or winning team gets to decide where the following years SB is played. Or, maybe an extra 3rd round draft pick for each team with representatives in the division that wins.

Speaking of Hockenson, I would not mind seeing him go. We don’t need a $17 million TE, if we have a $35 million receiver.
Should be able to find someone serviceable at a more economical value. Maybe Jermaine Wiggins is still in shape…
Fair point.
I know it’s not Tuesday, but with the past, “receivers are going to suck without Kirk” argument, it appears Hock used Kirko to get paid. Hock was Kirko’s security blanket.
between Hock and Oliver, their cap hit equals 26mill…..NOT ideal for TE’s who aren’t giving us the production we are paying them for…
Murphy wins defensive MVP at the Pro Bowl.
NFC 76. AFC 63
Was there defense?
And do they now play basketball instead of football?
A lot of the score is from all the other events. The teams got points for winning the tug of war, etc. Also, it was flag football on a field that was like 30 yards long.
LOL.
So the the NFL “pro bowl” had nothing to do with actual football?
