Minnesota Vikings Discussion
I read an interesting comment by freezeface yesterday. The Vikings have a ton of money tied up in the tight end position, with T.J. Hockenson carrying a $16.85 million cap hit in 2025, and Josh Oliver carrying a cap hit of just over $9.4 million. While Oliver was brought in mainly as a blocker, Hockenson was supposed to be an elite playmaking talent at the position. Last year, Hock compiled only 455 receiving yards in 11 games, an average of just over 40 yards a game. Does that production justify his $16.85 million cap hit? I don’t think so. What can be done? Well, not a whole lot. With the guaranteed money in his contract, along with restructure bonus, releasing him would cause a dead cap hit of over $28 million, and trading him would cause a dead cap hit of $18 million. That dead cap could be partially allocated to 2026 if done after June 1st, but the dead cap would still be significant, so I don’t see that happening.
They could move Oliver and save either $5 million or $8 million in 2025, depending on whether it’s after June 1, but they would still incur over $4 million in dead cap. The moves make sense, considering their production, or lack thereof. However, moving Hock makes little financial sense, and losing Oliver’s blocking ability would make a weak O-line even weaker. I do agree with Freezey 100% that spending $26 million on two tight ends is a LOT of money, and the Vikings are not getting much return on that investment. However, it looks like they’re stuck with much or all of that poor investment for at least another year. Hopefully Hock can bounce back in 2025 and make his contract more palatable.

The fam and I got more done on the game room, here’s our progress.

- Keep politics out. We are adults, news happens, and we can talk about it. What we don’t want is to go down the rabbit holes and turn a productive conversation into name calling and personal attacks.

New thread for you. Sorry, I posted from my phone, so it probably looks like shit.
In looking at the Vikings performance over the regular season, there was a lot of good. The defense was 16th in yards allowed per game, which of course is average, but they were 5th in points allowed. The defense allowed the 5th most passing yards per game, but we led the league by a wide margin in interceptions (24).
The offense was 12th in the league in yards per game. They were 6th in the league in passing yards per game, and 19th in rushing yards per game. They were 9th in the league in points scored per game.
Fundamentally the team played great complimentary football, which allowed us to win an awesome 14 games. Our last two games though, we were pretty weak. The offense especially. I think this coming season, we should be able to contend again.
Good solid football. But in my opinion if they want to ‘travel’ better in the playoffs they have to develop a better running game.
a better run game and generate more pressure from the Dline (IMO)
That too for sure.
One of O’Connell‘s weaknesses is that he doesn’t run enough. They need to be more balanced on offense. It’s kind of like the anti-Zimmer offense, somewhere in between would be nice.
I agree. Another interesting fact is, we were 10th in the league in first downs, but a whopping 43 of them were by penalty, which led the league. We got a lot of help from the ref’s even in the last two games against the Lions and the Rams. We had 4 first downs by penalty in each of those games.
Some Federal Bureau of Investigation agents are suing the Justice Department to block them from compiling the list of agents who worked on the anti-Trump cases that have engulfed the bureau for years.
Of course, the agents who filed this legal action remain anonymous. Such a deep-state move shows the FBI is in total panic mode. There’s nothing they can do to stop this action. They can delay, but this is going to happen. The Dem’s will sue Trump for unlawful retaliation for what? If the agents were innocent, there would be no reason to “retaliate”.
And then there’s the FBI agents rifling thru Milania’s panty drawer.
Looking for classified souvenirs.
Since it is still Tuesday,
A reminder that the Vikings won 14 games with Sam Darnold at QB.
Addition by subtraction. By losing Kirko’s salary demands and also Hunter, the team had funds to upgrade the defense, and Sam Darnold led the team to more wins that Kirko can dream about, even as a clipboard holder.
I wonder where he will want to retire next? Redskins/Vikings/Falcons….
Browns? Raiders?
He will retire with whoever pays him the most.
HUH?!!! I thought it was cocaine in WH! Boy, i’m a loser.
They were just being ‘Good Germans’ and following the orders that they were given.
After what they did to those FBI whistleblowers I really can’t blame them.
So I guess you sort of blindly go along. Just like the lawyers at the DOJ. Everyone was just doing their job.
There’s a saying – if you’re going to get the King you better get him.
So all these agents and the lawyers did everything to destroy Trump, his family and followers.
They failed!
This King survives and is now stronger and more powerful than ever.
Do they expect Trump to come to town and give them a kiss on the check?
Watching the Whistleblowers and thinking of going what they went thru with their families I think of the old saying ‘It is difficult sticking to your guys when they are pointed back at you’.
I like to think I would do the ‘right thing’ but that is a lot of suffering that they went thru. Glad I was never in a situation that bad to find out.
Sort of like the Army and following a ‘lawful order.’
Are parents at school board meetings really Domestic Terrorists.?
Well if they were threatening the Board Members like The DOJ and FBI alleged then maybe.
If they were just venting their frustrations and trying to get answers and get some changes made than they were absolutely not Domestic Terrorists.
I believe the 2nd one is what happened.
Even if they are threatening Board Members they are not domestic terrorists. They are just law breakers.
Agreed, Crossing a line from from venting to threatening does not make them Terrorists.
That Meeting was in Loudon County, VA (been there).
The School Board started allowing students to ‘chose your sex’ and use whatever bathroom they wanted. A guy, claiming he was a girl, went to the girl’s and raped and beat up a female student.
The school Board covered the entire incident up and with held information from the police.
The Father of the girl went to the board meeting, exposed the truth and raised hell. He was the start of the domestic terrorists.
I understood all of that.
If School Board members were threatened that crosses a line.
It is what they were accused of.
Damn right the Father threatened them as would any Father. but that is not a crime of domestic terrorism.
And the SchoolBoard actually covered up a crime and lied to local authorities. FBI didn’t give a rats about that though.
I would be threatening them with Legal Action and wishing I could do more to them.
Those Rats deserved any bad things that happens to them.
How many of those were actually instigating a
It’s almost unbelievable how corrupt the Dem’s have made the Government. Deep state? Yes.
Haha yeah, they’re not taking directives to help certain teams win…. Perhaps it’s not the same teams every week, but go ahead and watch the 2009 NFC Championship and tell me the game isn’t extremely rigged.
Also, then why isn’t every game-changing call reviewable? If they care so much about getting things right, why don’t they work to do it? Also, they often get reviewed calls wrong (in obvious ways). How does that happen? RIGGED.
You type faster.
It’s the blatant stuff that pisses me off. How do they first, Miss facemask in endzone on Sam with a ref about 5 yards away? And sadly, some game changing things not reviewable. I will watch SB, perhaps with more interest in officiating.
Yep, stuff like that facemask is inexcusable. At best, extreme incompetence (not putting out acceptable product). At worst, cheating and corruption.
That’s not what they’re doing. But they very clearly are influencing games to support certain storylines. Like that time when they took Cashman’s TD away. Vikes didn’t even really try after that, they knew they weren’t allowed to win the game.
Be that as it may, where there’s smoke, there’s fire. And more and more people seem to notice this. Good.
Officials give calls to the superstars in every sport. It’s up to the league to curb and/or correct it (if they want to).
I don’t expect anything to change as long as the money keeps rolling in for the NFL.
So they are saying that they are incompetent not currupt?
Too many subjective rules for action that’s too fast for the live human eye IMHO.
Here comes a report detailing massive referee corruption in 3..2..1..
Bye Bye….
Fandamtastic
So much winning.
Dem’s response: Trump drives unemployment rates to all time highs.
Huh. Some ICE agents here to see me. Wonder what they want?
Sending you to Artic Circle MT.
Fishing is probably pretty good.
I TOLD YOU to put a Trump Flag up.
Swing over to MN and Ihlan can help you
POS.
She your Rep?
She’d be heading to Guantanamo if i was in charge.
Only in Minnesota…
Guantanamo Bay has nice weather.
More winning
Ehhh except that position is pretty superficial and doesn’t hold a lot of weight. The CIA, FBI, etc. Can still do what they want and there’s not a damn thing she could do about it, she still takes orders. Its just a spot they can put her where they can keep an eye on her.
I don’t think there is room for him in the receiver room.
Please no. Upgrade OL, DL, CB.
Yes.
Yep.
Build the trenches this year.
Those need to be the priority.
If they can do that and still get Kupp as a #3 (price appropriate) I would be ok with that.
Is it within the rules to sign Thielen to a cheap one year contract, dress him in a #18 jersey in blackface, while our new UDFA signing dressed in a #19 jersey who just happens to look a lot like Jefferson lines up on the other side of the field?
Panthers would try and trade. He turns 35. I’m not giving up draft capital.
But if we trot 10 super-skilled targets out on the field for our QB to choose from we won’t even NEED an OL.
The team would take on a $20 million cap hit this season. Fully guaranteed
I sure hope JJ ignored the last two weeks of the season.
I hope he learned a lot from the last two weeks of the season.
Mainly what not to do.
(in the same vane of what SoCal posted)
I hope he learns from Sam’s mistakes.
Trump. The Tariff Sheriff. I like it.
I love how CNN is suddenly concerned with inflation. They complain that inflation MIGHT happen, after ignoring actual inflation occurring for the past four years.
They also reported that Trump caved to Mexico and Canada.
That’s par for the course. I’d be surprised if they actually reported something accurately.
Yup, 2 weeks in and they forget everything of the last 4 years.
They got y’all to look and react.
Checked my credit card account today, and the restaurant my wife and I went to last night charged over $1100 for our $37 meal. I started to freak out and then I saw a credit to the card as well. Did the math and everything came out even.
WTF?! I’d avoid a place that makes a 2,973% error. 😳
I’m sure they just fat fingered the total, it was corrected right away, so not an issue.
Where did you eat?
I want to know, too. Jackson must look like a high roller, I’ll eat the steak and lobster (tariffs be damned) and point to his table and say, “just put it on his tab”.
Just put it on his tab. *points*
Sea Bass said that?
Well, if that guy at the table over there is Sea Bass….
Glad you got the reference!
You should have the app for the card and notifications that way every time the card is charged you get a notification for what and how much in real time. Can catch that before you even leave the restaurant.
Hey guys, when it’s icy out you should slow down and leave plenty of room to the car in front of you or you might hit a patch of ice and rear end the guy sitting at the stoplight. Just an FYI.
Were you the rammed or the rammer?
Rammed. Not bad, just a dented bumper, but stupid. Luckily the guy had insurance.
I am smart enough to slow the hell down when it’s icy out. I do wish I would have bought that second dashcam for the back window though now.
I figured, you seem like an overly cautious person.
People are dumb. Some jackwagon with his hair on fire came flying around me yesterday, swerving in & out of traffic w/o using a blinker (the no blinker thing is standard practice for people in Bismarck, they’re all nuts). I thought “if you’re passing ME, you’re going way too fast”.
Did he park the wrong way on the street after that?
Probably. I let him pass, figured he’d get in a wreck soon enough.
He was just driving fast and taking chances……
Let Jesus take the wheel.
I much prefer to be the rammer rather than the rammee….but to each is own.
No kink shaming.
i remember when Kfey said he wanted to be the catcher….not the pitcher…
still makes me laugh to this day
OK Boomer. Kids these days don’t need you taking away their freedom to do whatever the hell they want.
Glad you’re ok
Space and visibility is one of 10 UPS safe driving rules. I’d say it’s ignored to a great extent out there.
But but butt…I have 4-wheel drive.
The problem is that it is 4-wheel DRIVE, not 4-wheel STOP.
4-wheel drive will get you out of the ditch but it won’t keep from ending up into the ditch to begin with.
And if you go in the ditch already in 4WD, your chances of getting out without help are very slim.
All gas no brakes!
Yep, and anything is going to drive like shit when there’s a dumbass behind the wheel.
I love Billings traffic. Bunch of toe heads.
Well in Billings’ defense this guy was from Denver. He was just heading home. Also broke his collar bone this weekend. I’m sure driving with one arm had nothing to do with it though.
When driving in icy conditions, you should always drive with one arm and make sure you text while you’re driving. It’s probably best to also have an open bottle of bourbon on your passenger seat.
Solid advice.
That’s right. What you can’t see can’t hurt you.
Holy shit, I’m dealing with Microsoft support right now. I haven’t been this pissed in a long time. They did some kind of update on OneDrive, and it makes the mobile app on unusable for me. In the past, I was able to take pictures directly to my OneDrive folder. As of yesterday, they did some kind of downgrade and I’m no longer able to. I put a support ticket in yesterday, and I just got called 10 minutes ago. We have an office 365 business subscription, I’ve had it for years, but it’s about to get canceled. I’ll find another option.
Customer Disservice is a blast, eh?
When they do call, you can’t understand a word they say, then they get pissy when you can’t understand them.
I like the “press 1 for English”. They transfer and you can’t understand a GD word.
Customer Support at all of these large companies is 90% computer bot, 9% real people that can’t really do anything to help and 1% slightly helpful. To get any real help you have to be kicked up about 3 to 5 levels. Then it is still a crapshoot.
Yeah, I have the 365 sub as well, and hate using one drive.
I download things locally whenever possible.
Google storage is an option, but they also suck @ss
I like taking photos directly to OneDrive, because then they don’t take up space on my phone.
I do 50 to 60 inspections a month, and probably take 20 to 30 photos per inspection.
I heard China might have some cool IT solutions.
Uninstall and reinstall the app. They changed how you take picutres now. Make a new folder, click the plus sign, then hit the Scan option under Add New. Your camera should open up then you should be able to scroll to the right and select photo.
So the Browns announced they have no intention of trading Miles Garrett, who came out and said he wanted to be traded. I think there are really only a few teams that would seriously pursue Garrett though. Those would be the Redskins, Falcons, Bears, Packers, Chargers, and Cardinals.
Garrett has said he wants to win a Super Bowl, so which of those teams do you think he would have the best shot to accomplish that with?
Redskins
Yep. Offense is close and need a stud on the defense.
Agree with Redskins. I like their offense, and with the OC staying, I see good things there.
The only teams that are serious superbowl contendas are Chiefs, Bills, Ravens, Eagles and possibly the 49ers.
Lots of playoff teams in that list.
Which is the gooder option? Everyone has an opinion……
Now that the Falcons have upgraded their QB position they should be pretty good.
Hmmm… 50th in completion percentage, and 47th in the league in passer rating? Yeah, stellar.
Still a huge upgrade over Kirko
uh…no.
Well it is Tuesday after all.
Happy Tuesday!
All day
Their win loss record seemed to improve.
Not sure what you’re talking about. Anyway, I saw two Falcons games this year. The Bucs game here in Tampa, where Cousins played lights out, and the Vikings game, where he was not very good.
QB play does not affect whether the team wins or loses.
Wrong… good QB play helps teams win, bad QB play helps teams lose.
So a QB with an average record over his career, is maybe just Average? Even with a HOF agent?
A QB on terrible teams with great production stats? Average? Yeah, you have some postulating to do.
They are already 30MM over the cap for next season. They would take another 36MM dead cap hit trading Myles before 6/1. They’ll either gut the roster or void the serial sexxx offender’s contract somehow.
Guy shouldn’t be on any team…. Remember when he tried to kill Mason Rudolph with his helmet, made up a lie about some racial stuff to try to get out of trouble, and had basically zero consequences to it all? Guy should be on the commissioner’s “exempt list” for eternity, or in jail.
Yea had forgotten hat incident. Let him go play for the Saints.
He’d fit in Detroit or Denver too.
Late to the dance on the GPS discussion yesterday.
The major issue with establishing a GPS tracking system to spot the ball is that current technology is only accurate down to 5-16 feet in open sky situations.
The officials get it much closer than that.
Perhaps something along the lines of a metal detector, with the detection grid installed just under the turf surface, and a foil lining inside the ball? Sounds a bit expensive.
The military likely has something much more advanced than GPS that they don’t want to share.
5-16 feet accuracy?
Really? That’s it?
If there really is no technology that gets it any better, than technology isn’t even an option for spotting the ball.
That’s using existing near-earth orbit satellites. I would think you can get it dialed in much closer with a network of scanners strung over the field, but now you’re talking price escalation, which will be passed on to John Q. Ticketbuyer.
And you’re not talking GPS then.
Lasers, baby!
The NFL don’t care.
Debateable
^^This^^
I love the company that replies to posts about bad calls and offers free lasik to all NFL refs.
For GPS, not really. They have other microchip technology that would work better. There are actually a bunch of settings on a handheld GPS that need to be activated to achieve this level of accuracy. I think the last I heard was that GPS units with the typical settings are actually only 30 yards, no matter what it tells you on the screen.
That’s why they won’t allow the chip, they don’t want complete accuracy. Still need room to be able to “adjust”.
also, my comment was meant as a joke.
I used to use a Garmin Etrex, one of the lower models, for finding waypoints when I was fishing. It gave me an accuracy measurement based on how many satellites it locked on to. It got down to 3 feet (at least that’s what it told me) when you locked on to 7-8 satellites.
That’s what it says, but I know as of a few years ago that was malarkey and it was never more than 30 yards, at least per the courts and what Garmin would actually say in court. There are ways to make it more accurate. You have to turn on a thing that uses ground satellites or something to account for terrain and curvature of the earth but I can’t remember what the setting is called. Need to make sure your map datum is consistent as well or you can be off by 100+ yards if you try to go from one mapping system to another.
Wait……curvature of the Earth? You mean it isn’t flat, or are you talking about the edge?
Excellent discussion starter. What does Edge have to do with it?
I would think some tech like what Tennis uses on the lines to call balls in or out.
There has to be something like that available to try.
That’s line-of-sight tech, though. You don’t get 7 bodies in a pile blocking the view in tennis.
It would be much more funner to watch though……
And even if you had perfect field position location from GPS or whatever, how do you reconcile the most ‘forward’ position with when the knee hit the ground and forward body lean of the ball carrier.
Stop making logical points.
The dye has been cast.
We need technology.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Global_Positioning_System
Other technologies may be as accurate or faster…
Land surveying…….I think that would take too long.
As long as it takes to do a review?
Asking for a friend.
And that dude is already holding a downs stick.
I think this might be my new favorite proposal.
What proposal is that Bow?
I fixed it.
Add it to the list.
USAID and Dept of Education go first.
USAID is totally corrupt. Not just mismanaged… corrupt.
oh that’s just all the hesaid shesaid usaid stuff
I doubt this passes, but some reform is needed. Like every other Government Agency, OSHA is bloated, and over time, enacted so many rules and policies for workforce protection, that it’s become truly burdensome. Every time some workforce incident or accident occurred, OSHA brought in new policies, procedures, and requirements, to counter what happened. Just a good idea, gone awry.
Inspectors will flat out admit that if they show up for a random inspection they have to find something to cite you for. We got cited once because there were paperwork errors. They talked to some of our guys and said they are doing everything right, but the paperwork doesn’t say they are. They would rather the paperwork be right and you do whatever you want than worry about actually dangerous situations. I could go on and on on this one. Some rules/expectations are ok, but the OSHA manual is like 3 inches thick. Hold negligent companies accountable but there doesn’t need to be a massive agency rolling around nitpicking businesses with perfect safety records. One of the things they said they were specifically looking for last time? Extension cords. Any extension cord that looked like it might be used for more than very short term use.
Indeed. Paperwork issues are one of the biggies. Organizations must hire people and pay them to keep up with the OSHA requirements, which change constantly. Different forms almost every year, new policies, new equipment requirements, etc. Depending on the size of the organization, you may have many employees to manage the OSHA standards and training.
No matter what industry you are in, if you are federally regulated you are going to spend a boatload of money and staff time dealing with the mountain of crap.
OSHA can ask one question, then leave.
I think it’s a good idea to protect the safety of workers, though. I’ve worked on construction crews where they didn’t care about safety, it’s not a good environment to work in. If I would’ve been sober, I probably wouldn’t have worked there.
Hold negligent employers accountable then. Some rules, fine and civil liability but an army of inspectors going around to nitpick the shit out of safe organizations is stupid. Did you know you can’t wear one of the N95 masks that they pushed during covid for work without a medical exam?
That’ll be $300.
Nah, can do it online for $30.
We used to use your employer though.
I don’t know, it would be hard to say that to the kid of a person who dies on the job.
I’ve been on jobs where there were fatalities, it’s a pretty shitty feeling
Well, not on the same job as a fatality, but within the same company where there was one.
OSHA pencil pushers aren’t helping. In some cases the regulations make a job more dangerous. Why not just take a company’s safety record and practices into account when making decisions about where to work like you take pay into account? In my opinion, we waste a lot of time worrying about complying with random OSHA rules that could be better used to simply make our employees safer. You are going to tell me that some bureaucrat knows the safest way to do a job in a specialized facility with decades of safe experience? The GHS regs within the OSHA regs are another ridiculous one. There’s gotta be like 100 pages on product labeling requirements and non of it makes sense.
My college aged granddaughter is thinking of quitting college after her freshman year is over, and doing (what I call) cosmetology, hair and nails. I told her two things, make sure you use as much if not all of the money we put in your 529 (else the government gets a chunk), and definitely get some kind of suction fan for all that nail dust. That stuff has to be immunogenic as hell, get a nice case of hypersensitivity pneumonitis (head cheese sign, GF’s favorite).
Now you’re making me hungry
Noice game room, GF. Favorite game?
Colder than a well digger’s ass out there.
Hot Toddy’s
Cold means overtime for me!
Or maybe I will just leave work early. I will have my eight hours in by 1 p.m.
Not me, I have a couple properties where I have to clear snow today. It won’t take long, but it’ll be cold. I will bundle up.
First, an eye appointment. I need more contacts & they make me get an exam. Dumb, my left eye is still 70% blind & my right eye hasn’t changed.
Interesting… I basically have the same problem. When I close my right eye, my left has a big distortion in the middle. Like looking through a cracked window. My right eye is fine, except for reading.
I can only see directly where I focused with my left eye. Basically, on my optic nerve had a stroke. They drew blood, did a bunch of tests, said I was completely healthy. It just happened one day, they said it will never recover. I have maybe 30% vision in that eye, probably less.
Holy shit, my phone is deaf & stupid. The voice to text feature sucks.
Got a call from work last night while I was walking the dogs. The phone shut off mid call as it was too cold. True story.
Back in my youth, we had one phone in the middle of the kitchen with a 4 foot cord. Was great getting critiques from the old man on my “asking for a date” ability. But those phones worked even when it was 40 below!
I remember when we had a rotary dial phone.
Well that goes without saying for this old fart. Circa 1986, when I registered for my first year of university, they had switched to using a touch tone phone to enter your classes. No kidding, I had the 3 inch thick course catalog balanced on my knee while I stood in a phone booth feeding quarters into it (long distance call) as that was the only touch tone phone I had access to in our town. Makes me sweat thinking of that slow as molasses system, voice prompt coming up saying, the class you requested…2…7…8…3…chem…istry…2…5…0…is no longer available. Please try again with a different class number. Scrambling to see if another day and time worked around all the other registered classes and labs.
@sounds like fun@.
My mom had a rotary dial phone until about 8 years ago when she moved into assisted living.
I remember her calling over and over to get Oprah tickets for her upcoming trip to Chicago. She had to resort to using a pencil to dial once her fingers got too sore.
In high school I was in marching bad, and one day at practice it was so cold my analog watch stopped working. I told the band director and he said it was probably a dead battery. We stayed outside for another 30 minutes.
When we went inside after about ten minutes my watch started working again. I showed the band director and he shrugged his shoulders and said, I guess it was cold out there.
Yikes, I did not know it was that bad. You are still allowed to drive?
Yes, you can be completely blind in one eye and still be able to drive with no restrictions.
Well those fuckers, why do they make me look at that hot air balloon?
They just want to see the smile on your face when you see the balloon.
That is true, but there is some doctor discretion involved, particularly in regards to field of vision and acuity in the “good” eye.
Macular degeneration or diabetic damage? Previous swelling from CSCR? BRVO?
I would argue you need an exam more than the average person due to the fact you have only one usable eye, and you don’t want anything preventable that is bad happening to that eye.
The overall impression I am getting from Chiefs fans going into the Super Bowl is confidence that they will win.
I am not seeing a lot of respect for the Eagles.
This could be random. I am not seeking information. It is simply stuff that is coming across my feeds that I glance at.
It’s all threepeat, “I was more worried about the Bills game,” and Saquon won’t even get 100 yards…
Fans talking trash. You can probably hear a lot of trash around Philly too.
If the chiefs cannot slow down the Eagles running game, it will be an ez win for the poopeaters.
I think the chiefs will at least minimize the damage of the Eagles running game, and make Hurts throw the ball. That is for sure what I would do. Hurts is not as consistent when he has to throw on the move.
Either way, I am watching the game, and the ads, and probably not the halftime show.
Puppy bowl looks good this year also.
And, it is Tuesday.
Kirk still sucks.
Yeah, I can’t stand the halftime shows. I will likely watch some of the game. I don’t know if I will make it through the whole thing.
This is the only halftime show a person would ever need…and they don’t do it! I doubt he can still do the move where he grabs his foot and jumps over it, though…
My go to karaoke song, I used to dance to it as well, but I’m old now.
The scared ones talk the most crap. And I don’t mean trash talk, I mean they talk big because they are trying to talk themselves into being confident.
My prediction is that Barkley will set the new rushing record for the Super Bowl. I also predict that the chiefs will win via some friendly officiating. You never know, though. Goodell might be smart enough to hand this one to the Eagles to throw people off.
The Swifties would not stand for that.
And the NFL wants to keep the Swifties on board.
I still say, all of the rhetoric towards games being fixed and the responses from the NFL, remind me of the early 80’s when it was coming out that professional wrestling was scripted.
I’m just waiting for a D-lineman to tackle Geraldo and ask if that was fake, like The Body did.
I disagree with Hock not being worth the money. He stepped up in games where he was needed and made catches in clutch situations. He is coming off of a torn ACL, and played like he did before the injury, pretty much from the moment he hit the field.
Well, he only played in 10 games, and he had 41 catches. He didn’t have a TD in any of his games this year though.
Yep, I understand your point. My thought is, is 40 yards a game worth 16 million a year?
Like I said, I hope he can have a resurgence this year. It doesn’t make financial sense to get rid of him regardless.
If those 40 yards per game come on 3rd and 4th down in clutch situations, which most of his yards and catches do, than yes.
I can look that up on PFF when I get home.
If Sam Darnold is the QB (always looking for the shot play) Hock won’t be utilized as much. Don’t know how JJ will use Hock.
Shot plays are called in the huddle, so Sam can only look for them when KOC sets him up to. Same with Hock. He’s rarely the first read on our play calls. He isn’t used like Gronkowski was, or Jason Witten, or Jordan Reed, or Kelce.
Should he be? My answer is yes, but with JJ, Addison, and Nailor, sometimes it’s hard to work in the 4th option, which Hock is.
Why do we pay him so handsomely, and not feature him much? Dunno.
that last sentence says it all for me. If you’re going to pay somebody $16 million a year, that’s why you should use him. If not, there are cheaper options.
Jets is going to be getting $45 mil/year, and averages 15 catches and 107yds/game.
So if you triple Hocks numbers he is averaging 12 receptions and 120 yards/game
I’m not saying he is not overpaid, but it is not egregious. We were going to pay Darnold $10 million to possibly sit on the bench.
I think your math is off. JJ had 103 catches in 17 games for 1,533 yards.
That’s 6 catches for 90 yards a game. 90 yards is impressive though. He had 10 TD’s, and Addison had 9.
JJ didn’t play last year. He tore his meniscus in the preseason.
HAHAHAHAHAHA
If we do not strive for accuracy in our posts, we are no better than liberals.
If we think we can boss others around, and force them to say what we want them to say on a blog, we’re idiots.
Good morning, SKOL!
FTP!
FTP Auto Rec.
Nice game room!
Sometimes I think about getting a Nintendo Switch.
Thanks! Still a work in progress, want to get an arcade console or two. The Switch is nice, but the processor is slower. We use the XBox & PS5 a lot more. I do love Mario Kart & Zelda, though.
I finally got an Xbox Series S on Black Friday. I mainly got it to play the Dead Space remake and Resident Evil 4 remakes. I have not played much else yet.
I have not had a Nintendo for a long time. I really miss their style of games.
I do have a Nintendo Classic and Super Nintendo Classic, though.
We play a LOT of Fortnite.
Dead Space remake is totally worth it, I played it on PC though. Still no console out there that can keep up with a well designed, dedicated gaming PC. Plus, building your own rig is fun (for me at least).
I did that three times, then the last 2 PCs have been CyberPower. I get something that was released about 1 year ago, save money, and get 5-7 years out of it.
I am now shopping again since my current PC is not windows 11 compatible, and some games are getting slow.
Build your own gaming computer? That sounds cool!
I just asked my wife.
No.
Well, there you have it!
The Boss has spoken.
Just do it Johnny Cash style. One piece at a time and she’ll never know.
You can call it the Psychobilly computer
I may have to look into that at some point.
Is that the same switch that AP uses ?
Yes.
I finished watching The Heretic last night, pretty good show. Hugh Grant does a good job. Also, I really liked The Kller, watched it after reading your review.
I liked The Heretic, but I can’t figure out if the director wrote the villain like he believed he had a point or if he wrote the villain as a parody of atheism. Like the Horus/Mithras argument has fallen by the wayside these days.
But, whatever…I like the Hugh Grant resurgence.
I want a sequel to The Killer.
I believe the graphic novel it is based on had multiple sequels.
I hope so. I really liked the show, I’m gonna watch it again.
Of late I have been playing civ 6 at bedtime…it is available with a PetDix subscription. I haven’t turned on the XBox yet this calendar year. Civ 6 is scary as I start it 15 minutes before my planned bedtime and suddenly find it is a half hour past my bedtime and I’m fuming cuz such and such has happened.
