In terms of average annual dollars, there wasn’t that big of difference between the 2018 Jimmy and Kirk contracts when they were signed. The bigger factor may have been that Kirk wanted his contract fully guaranteed.
Because of injuries Jimmy’s contract ended up being dang near guaranteed and he barely played half the games. At least Kirk is durable and available.
