The Josh Dobbs Era Has Begun?
Wow, what a game yesterday! The Vikings went to Atlanta with their backup QB, Jaren Hall, at the helm after the injury to Kirk Cousins. Hall looked great on the Vikings’ second series of the game before being knocked out of the game with a concussion at the end of that drive. That injury left the Vikings with no choice but to turn the ball over to Josh Dobbs, who had been on the team for all of 3 or 4 days. Well, Dobbs came in and, while he wasn’t perfect, he did a hell of a job, all things considered. Dobbs made some great throws, made some tremendous plays with his legs. He finished the game 20/30 for 158 yards and 2 touchdowns with no INTs (he did have 2 fumbles, but he just wanted to fit in with the 2023 Vikings offense).
Addison, Hock, and Jackson all contributed with clutch catches to help out Dobbs. The running game was abysmal in the first half, but turned it around in the second half. The fumble bug continued to bite the offense, but they overcame the errors, and in the end, the Vikings put a notch in the W column
The Vikings defense did a pretty good job yesterday. The offense put them in some bad situations with turnovers, but they did enough to help the Vikings move on to 5-4. On another positive note, Greg Joseph did not miss a FG or PAT all day. On a not-so-positive note, it appears that Cam Akers is out for the year with an ankle or achilles injury.

Thread Guidelines
- Keep politics out. We are adults, news happens, and we can talk about it. What we don’t want is to go down the rabbit holes and turn a productive conversation into name calling and personal attacks.
- Be cool to one another. Like it says above, just be civil. You don’t need to agree with everyone and that’s fine, you also don’t need to make it personal. Attack the argument not the poster.
- Keep the NSFW to a minimum. We don’t need anyone getting in trouble at work for hanging out here.
- All in all, be adults. Treat each other with respect and things will be fine. Mods will take out content they feel is pushing the boundary. If you want to reach out about something feel free to ask. We want to have robust discussions, that’s why we’re here. Just be civil and cool to one another.
They talked Josh Dobbs on GMFB today.
I enjoy them when they talk Vikings.
I don’t know if anyone mentioned this, but Dobbs has some NFL history. Supposedly he is the first one to score 3 TDs in consecutive games for 2 different teams. He threw 2 TDs and ran for a TD last week for the Cardinals.
He could also do this for some NFL history:
Rooting for him.
I have a Subaru update….
I will post it tomorrow because I know everyone is interested and many have logged off.
Thanks but not too early as it will be buried at the bottom of the tread and hard to read all of the funny comments/replies.
I hate waiting!
I am not giving you a free preview…you will just have to turn in tomorrow, but it is a pretty big update.
I’ll be here. You probably went out and got a new Tahoe or something. Just reeling us in.
Freeze installed a battery?
ha!
Today’s my anniversary. Five years ago today, almost to the hour, got my knee replacement. Any of you youngsters someday get to the point with an arthritic knee or hip, replacement is the way to go. I should have done it earlier.
My mom waited for years to have her hip one based on the advice of Drs.
By the time she had it done she had knee issues from compensating.
Going under the knife is usually a last resort.
Won’t claim to know where that line is.
Make sure you have as much info as possible before deciding.
Medical Tech changes quickly so your results may vary.
Everyone is different and needs to find their own way. Two small thoughts. One, you may learn to tolerate and even live with arthritis, but arthritis is relentless and never goes away. Two, if you get to bone on bone, as I was, go get the operation as soon as possible. And find a great Doctor.
I have issues with the Patella on my right knee.
HS wrestling/jumping off stuff in the Army/walking on concrete and steel in prison will cause that.
It was bad for awhile but now that I am retired I mostly ignore it, (being a guy I am good at that).
I wear a support strap/brace around the knee if I know I am going to on it for a long time.
Never considered surgery, just use a heat pad when it aches on cold nights.
You’ll know when the time is right.
I was lucky and unlucky. Ran 25 – 30 miles a week for over 30 years. Seems I blew right thru stages 1, 2, and 3 of arthritis as I had no pain and just kept running – that’s good. Then literally all at once big pain – unlucky part, couldn’t modify behavior (running) at that point to do anything about it. But I’m OK with it all though – loved running.
You seem in a good spot to handle it..
The Army made us all runners.
Ran my marathon in Berlin in ’81.
My Patella was at its worse in prison, we had to do 30m checks on all cells. The night shift had 1 guy to do it, it took 15m to do it correctly. One 8hr shift = 35k steps, all up metal stairs, on concrete floors/tiers with lots of stops and turns.
Lots of young, fit, newbies tapped out after the first dozen shits or so.
Knew some guys that were Naval Aviators – did a lot on running on the hard metal decks of aircraft carriers. All now have bad knees.
I have heard that Aircraft Carriers are the worst place to run.
And that is before even considering that you must keep turning before you get to the edge.
I ran on a track for many years in the winter that was 12 laps to a mile…that was a lot of turning….
You start to feel like a hamster on a wheel after awhile.
There’s a YT channel by “Pail”/Growler Jams. I would piss my pants taxiing a multimillion dollar aircraft on the edge of the flight deck. Shoot I get nervous backing a boat trailer down the launch.

Exercise is bad…
The endorphin rush it pretty good.
We used to say that ‘running/jogging just means you will die tired’.
I kid…I exercise 5 or 6 days a week for 50 minutes cardio…either bike or eliptcal..joints won’t take running.
For me easy choice. Drink beer – keep running. Quite running – no beer.
Yes, I do about 300 minutes a week of cardio…doesn’t make me skinnier, I fear I would need to stop drinking beer for that.
Since I can’r run now, I do bike and eliptical. Swear neither compares to running for weight.
Now, at my age. I just say screw it I’m drinking beer no matter.
Running seems to mess up your knees. I just do it once or twice a week for 30 minutes and call it good.
I prefer lifting weights.
I sit in an office then go home and drink beer and am a solid 6’6″, 180
That reminds me of when Greg Childs simultaneously ruptured both patellar tensions in training camp, never played again, sucked for him.
Random thought – one thing I miss this time of year is seeing everyone wearing poppies.
No idea what that is/means.
The vast majority of Canadians wear poppies this time of year, including adolescents.
It is based on the poem by McRae, a Canadian wartime (WWI) physician. A significant portion of the military age population of Canada were casualties.
In Flanders Fields, the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie,
In Flanders fields.
Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.
Cool, thank you for the knowledge.
I would consider wearing poppies but not pansies.
Haha
Honoring veterans?
11/11 is in five more days.
I know, but what else does it means?
‘what else does it means?’
Unknown.
That guess is as good as any I have.
I can’t remember the last time I’ve even seen one. Used to be, volunteers for Veteran Affairs came around and sold them.
So they wear them the week before Veterans Day?
Few days before, few after.
Correct…I was watching a recap of the results of an in-flight emergency on CBC and felt just the tiniest pang of nostalgia on the lapel of the newscasters.

i mean i bet the nearest taco bell is billings….and that’s where all these laborers supposedly came from…
there is a chance…
I love Taco Bell. Sigh.
haha i do too.
i always feel disgusting after it, but i sure love it
You guys must be big fans of diarrhea
Now that I am old I get it pretty regularly.
Especially when I eat anything my ‘system’ isn’t used to.
No way, TB is solid.
There is a great Mexican restaurant here in GDV, run by real Mexican-Americans.
what’s your go to at TB?
Chalupa Supreme.
I had this burger at Bully Burgers on Friday night, the Cry Baby. I’ve had it before and should know better. Caramelized onions and jalapenos, some kind of flippin’ hot red sauce that is about 3x Tabasco hotness, lettuce tomatoes. Tears running down my face as I eat it.
90 minutes later I can feel it making its assault on my small intestine.
Middle of the night I wake up and sit on the throne for 30 minutes. Feels like a gerbil or three cleaning up my colon.
i’m a fan of the cheesy gordita crunch and the former beefy quesarito.
also, that burger sounds delicious minus the red hot sauce.
ooh I may have to have the cheesy gordita crunch some time when we are splurging on our dining out budget.
Concerned that you know this:
‘ Feels like a gerbil or three cleaning up my colon.’
I have a vivid imagination, plus a few conversations have gone down the gerbil hole when you are talking to someone under sedation (midazolam).
Ha.
Sure we will go with that.
Not that there is anything wrong from you learning from 1st hand experience.
For research purposes only of course. Wink-wink.
Lol, ok
I prefer Taco Johns.
Same
Thank you very much….
It’s been a while since I made the cut… is it because the pun on “scramble” with “eggslusher”? If so, well done!
I actually did not think of that, that is better, you must be too straight forward with your comments lately
Good news from NoDak – got my snowblower back from the 80 year old repair guy…only cost me 95 dollars I will take it…he also said I should start it and let it run a little twice a month, all year long, and I won’t have this problem.
Bad news from NoDak – been battling some sort of tendon/ligament issue in left elbow and fore-arm. Lifting that snow blower into the truck was NOT GOOD. Sharp, intense pain, I am sure it will take months to heal…
No news from NoDak – the Subaru is still missing…radio silence from the dealership.
None of that matters….SKOLLLLL!!!!!!
‘battling some sort of tendon/ligament issue in left elbow and fore-arm’
Probably Golfs fault.
NO!
At first I read Goff’s fault, and thought, well we can’t blame Cousins anymore.
I actually checked my spelling when I wrote is as ‘Goffs fault’ crossed my mind.
Thanks for the update. Great news on the snowblower.
I think he was hoping for medical guidance from our resident gouger…..
MT already gave me great medical advice on that. He said I should get an MRI, maybe a CT scan, possible an Ultrasound, and 3 or 4 X-rays just to be sure we have the complete picture.
It’s not every day you will get such valuable medical advice!
Ha! Love it.
The Teacher has her MRI Friday from the ‘smudge’ they noticed on her kidney when she went to the ER.
Funny we have yet to hear from either the Hospital or Insurance about the ‘denial’ of her hospital stay.
We assume that those two are battling it out in Medical/Insurance speak.
Likely.
We are hoping for a 3 way split.
Insurance covers what it can.
Hospital eats what it has too.
And we will cover the rest.
Upon discussion we figured it they had told us that the hospital stay would not be covered (while we were still in the ER) we would still have opted to stay the 1st night, but probably not the 2nd.
So we expect/are willing to pay out a bit more. Not telling them that anytime soon though.
Left arm issues?
i have been battling tendonitis in my achilles for years.
i still play bball 2 or 3 times a week.
i’m sure i will be put on the IR soon
Its only a matter of time till it snaps…then Mrs. Freezey will have to shovle the driveway.
I miss playing Basketball….but as the Bible says, there is a time for everything, and my time for playing basketball is long past.
do you really think it’s only a matter of time??
and she would absolutely KILL me if i tear my achilles.
No…You may be o.k. I played till 48 and never snapped my Achillies…dislocated a mess of fingers, did the MCL, sprained my ankle too many times to count, but never tore the Achillies….
You might be a conservative/nonoperative candidate. You could work on your crepe making skills on a stool in the kitchen.
just make sure you’re not shooting b-ball outside of the school.
increases your chances of running into a couple of guys….
who are up to no good.
and want to start trouble in your neighborhood.
Do the rehab exercises we talked about week or so ago.
Yes, I have been…and it was feeling better…but this was too much for it.
Normal. It will take time and once in a while you will get a shot like this.
Just keep doing the work and it will get better.
Questions:
groin. too much hanky panky the night before.
were they gassed or were the falcons just exploiting our obvious weakness
I believe the latter.
i do too…i think “Gassed” makes us feel better but our defense is still not great.
‘Much better than it was’ does not equal ‘the best/great’.
When is the couch eligible to return? Have we heard anything about his high ankle sprain rehab?
have heard anything on the couch front.
wrap him in plastic and put the biederlak on him, he’s done
‘biederlak’
Is that like a dustcover?
Never mind.
Google said it is a ‘high quality wool blanket made in Germany’.
Some of us have to look this ‘highbrow’ stuff up.
Jewish people disagree
Words have way too many meanings now a days and there are way too many people who’s feelings can be hurt.
I am not careful/thoughtful enough to be on social media.
IDK, I feel like comedians make jokes about literally everything including race, religion, etc. Offensive jokes are my favorite kind
I usually agree.
But ‘that topic’ feels over the line/out of bounds to me.
I have been on a few tours too many In Berlin/Auschwitz.
What your wife says to you when you lie down beside her
(for VP)
RIP
CD was designated as ‘questionable’ Sat afternoon so it mush have been from Friday night not the ‘night before’.
ohhhhhhhhhhhh ok yes friday night then.
that dog
You sound Jelly.
It was the night before Saturday
So the ‘night before’ the ‘night before’ the game??
most cross dressers are
What you did there.
I done seen it.
Dobbs is not what the Vikings need long-term. Is he a decent short term option? Best they have right now, no doubt. I have higher beliefs in Hall, but he’s not healthy. Just don’t fall in love, because the lipstick will come off the pig soon enough. When everyone is complaining about Dobbs in a week or two after he is today’s savior, I will say I told you to keep expectations in check.
No one is falling i love with Dobbs dude. No one here thinks he’s a long term answer. Why push a take that no one is even making?
Haha really? I’ve heard on the radio, seen it here (maybe he just didn’t have weapons, maybe he’s like Kurt Warner…)
Not “love.” He’s just got to be good enough to get us 4 or 5 more wins.
I’ll praise him when he does good things and pulls out wins like yesterday. I don’t care if the pig has lipstick or not – it’s still enough to feed the fanbase wins. There aren’t any illusions about what we’re getting. It’s okay to be excited about a win, regardless of who the QB was and their NFL pedigree.
Boom
Who here thinks Dobbs is the long term answer?
The absolute best case scenario is he plays like Case Keenum, then goes somewhere else next year.
Dobbs somehow found a way to win.
Just enjoy the win.
Hopefully he can repeat it.
If your plan is to wait until Dobbs fucks up, then gloat about it, do us all a favor and just delete your account now.
Haha oooooookay then. I, for one, did enjoy the victory. But many people are crowning him some sort of diamond in the rough and making him out to be waaaaaaay better than he is. I think this is a magical victory, but not the norm for him. Realist, in this situation, not expecting magic every week, but will hopefully enjoy watching.
ben, have you ever added a gif in your summary?
yes
you should post a good gif about what stu looks like when he’s taking his nappy today
Hey asswipe B, from the video of Kirk’s injury can you tell if its a rupture or just a tear?
Rupture.
A ‘rupture’ is a complete tear correct?
So a rupture is a tear but a tear might not be a rupture??
Rupture = complete tear (what I dictate in my report is complete tear with the frayed end retracted by blah blah)
Tear = partial tear or complete tear.
So a Rupture is a messy complete tear?
And a neat/clean complete tear is just a tear??
What if he washed the complete tear?
Would it then be downgraded from a Rupture to a Tear?
And I thought that Legal did not equal Logical.
why yes, i do think kirk would be apart of the rapture
Hmmm
Rapture would take all of the ‘goody two shoes’ out and the rest of us could just have fun Right??
On 2nd thought.
The Teacher would go and I would be stuck here by myself with the skanks.
Fuck that!
this made me laugh
Thanks, wondering if Rodgers was just a tear, I remember O’neills was only a partial tear and the timeline was less than 6 months.
So the crew of “Mexicans” showed up at 0845 Saturday (they were actually from Killings as it turns out), and worked absolutely non stop until 2215. Amazing watching them work, no wasted movement no breaks no one standing around. It was ruff cuz it was constant noise but man they worked hard.
That’s the good news.
Bad news the GC underestimated the amount of drywall needed…14 sheets short. I had a titanic outburst on the Sabbath, f’ing this and f’ing that how does someone come up that short. This being Glendive he gave the excuse he couldn’t get more drywall I said so drive to Dickinson dumbass. Anyhow he is doing the rest himself today as the perfotaper whiz comes tomorrow (was originally scheduled for today but dumbass had to put him off for a day jeopardizing my build schedule).
I blame Cousins.
why is it typed “mexicans”? like are they not actually mexican but some of some other latin descent?
i think they are taco bell workers, and MT just labels them as “mexicans” then
Because, if you put it in quotations, it’s not racist.
I say that because the GC called them Mexicans, but I have no way of telling if they are Salvadoran, Honduran, Guatemalen, or what have you. They spoke as much English as I speak Spanish.
They can tell and it is important to them.
When working with my Brother and his crew this often confused me.
“why do you care that he is ‘Savladorian’??
Because Hispanics have cultural divides just that same as Europeans. What respectable Swede wants to work with a Dane?
‘What respectable Swede wants to work with a Dane?’
Will take your word for that.
But even The Mexicans were divided, Foreman brought in family/cousins and we had two smaller groups that had a different Jefe.
They only worked together on big jobs and needed a overall foreman which is why brother hired me, to keep the internal drama to a minimum.
When you have a society that is much more family based, I can see that happening.
Yup,
Me being the Boss/Owners brother trumped the squabbles even though I was new to the job having just retired from the Army.
Somewhere on the interweb, there’s a “crew of ‘Mexicans'” commenting on a futbol blog about the “Gringo” who sat around on Saturday from 0845 to 2215 watching them work their ass off then bitching about a drywall shortage, and laughing their ass off about his “1st world problems”.
Si quieres ganar mucho dinero, deberías ir a la universidad.
Si tu veux gagner beaucoup d’argent, tu devrais aller à l’université.
See, the French rolls off the tongue easier, I wish my brain worked well enough to click and speak a little Spanish.
‘poco trabajo por poco salario’
I heard that one a lot.
‘Little work for little pay’
I was just thinking (dangerous I know), but I don’t think the Vikings got called for offensive holding yesterday, that is just bananas with some of the scrambling Dobbs/smooth criminal did.
you’re adopting mjolner’s moniker as well! good!
also yes, good for us! go us!
Kinda creepy
realllllllllllllllllllllllly weird. if i did that to my wife she would know exactlyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy what i was wanting
Double Stuf Oreo?
name of your sex tape
reeses peanut butter cup
A quick anecdote:
While watching the game yesterday I was bemoaning and lamenting KOC’s play calling, thought he was calling a poor game (wrongly perhaps) but I couldn’t understand his Mattison calls etc and blah, blah, blah. Even threatened to turn it off. Anyhow went duck hunting after the game with my youngest daughter had 3 flocks of 30 -100 mallards come into the decoy spread throughout the afternoon. I usually call when to shoot. I called the shooting so poorly that I went 0 for 9, and my daughter went 0 for 5. I did not put here in position to succeed. Bottom line KOC>SkolfromMT. I called a pathetic, panicked afternoon. If I were a HC I would have been fired this morning.
now imagine if your gun had broken the week before, so you were going to use an old unproven sling shot….and as you pulled the slingshot back, it broke, so all you had was a case of tennis balls to kill the ducks….AND you killed one.
that’s what it would have been like if you were KOC
Amen.
I guess I was using my “starting” .
Josh Dubbs is the starter.
Minion the back up?
dobbs DO NOT GET HURT FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT IS GOOD IN THIS WORLD
You beat me to it.
lol
Amen.
For the love of all things good, please don’t get hurt Dobbs.
That’s a dumb plan.
Watch Dobbs get hurt at Thursday’s practice…..
Hopefully Hall or Mullins will be healthy in time to back up Dobbs on Sunday.
Anything it better than Mannion.
Sean Mannion szn
@but, he is Kirk’s best friend and supporter, how bad could he be?@
then he should be at Kirk’s house helping with the rehab.
LOL!
Maybe he can give foot rubs, as well…
Important context….
Over the last 2 games the QBs Blackmon has faced are Fields and Heineke.
What happened to the 49ers game?
Or the Packers game?
My Bad,
I just got the Packers and the Bears mixed up…I really do need to stop drinking alcohol during the games…
BTW, I had 0 drinks on Sunday! Good for me! and I still enjoyed the game.
Nice!
Bears and Packers both suck ass
Let’s make sure we don’t give our GM credit we he gets it right…
Problem is he does just as many stupid things as good things, or almost always negates the good stuff within a short time period. Like that trade with the Lions to get Cine. Or getting Dobbs but then trading away Cleveland for nothing. Or thinking the O-line will be fine and waiting a super long time to get Risner. He seems to be unable to string a few good decisions together without doing something dumb.
No, the real problem is people having an agenda or already staked their position. He should be put on blast for his mistakes, but also commended for getting shit right. It’s really not a hard concept.
to be fair, it could have been flores yelling to draft blackmon and if he hadn’t been, we would have completely passed on him.
there are so many nuances involved in the draft, i rarely blame anyone but satan for bad players
What a wonderful organization
They said on the radio broadcast yesterday that there has never been a score of 10-11 every in the NFL. I wonder if that is really true?
A ‘halftime score’.
https://twitter.com/HumansNoContext/status/1720833869828575617?t=LVDjPEll3pkx03gauPf7Rg&s=19
So, did it explode or not?
Yes
lol that was good
This is good
i don’t think i’m taking this any further than some of you already are…
is it possible Dobbs is the best #15 to play qb EVER?
Let’s see what KOC thinks
His inability to grow a superb stache and lack of SB win puts him behind at least Jeff Hostetler
dobbs can’t help the fact that he can’t grow hair at all!
no….
No.
Gary Cuozzo was absolutely the best ever. Hands down.
i’m still going with Smooth Criminal.
^^that was mine!
i know!
Someone should tell Dobbs to stop fumbling.
Not his fault though
Someone needs to block better so he can loosely hold the ball away from his body.
Correct.
Nothing is the QB’s fault.
That’s what we’ve been told for 6 years now.
Has it really been that long you’ve been reminding us of that? Seems like it’s been longer…
True, its Kirk’s fault
Eyebrows?
Hey BSF, what’s the name of that packer blogger who fornicates his dog?
Pete Bukowski
Yeah him, I could swear I saw him at church sunday, if it wasn’t him that guy is the greatest doppleganger in history. Anyway when I saw him I was like, “yeah if anyone needs Jesus its a dog fucker, that guys got a lot to repent for.” Then I thought someone should photshop his face on that guy with the horse and the dogs face on the horse in that video you talked about the other day, then I felt bad for thinking that in the lords house.
i’ve done similar, my mind wanders and all of a sudden i look up and the pastor is looking directly at me as if some divine knowledge of where my mind just was…
i keep waiting for him to stop mid sermon and ask me to repeat what he just said and make me look a fool
Stop thinking about porn in church Freezey and your pastor will stop looking at you like that….he does know.
Interesting
to be honest, it’s RARELY about porn.
my thoughts usually go to:
i wonder who all has guns on them this morning.
i think i could take a wolf on
i need more coffee
I have similar thoughts in church….Ha!
my money is on the wolf….
perhaps.
but PERHAPS NOT
My Money is on Freezey….opposable thumbs are a huge advantage. If he can keep the wolf from getting to his throat he will win that fight.
THANK YOU
i think my will to survive and also adrenaline will make it a closer fight than most think.
also. i might want it more
what if the wolf is standing in front of an ‘89 Caravan with a dead battery?
Then all bets are off.
The horn should still work………
Depends if freezey had a gun on him
guaranteed if i am anywhere that i might get attacked by a wolf, i would also have my gun on me
My daughter texted me while she was in church and asked for my chili recipe (they are going to have a chili cook off at her church). I missed the first part of the pastor’s sermon because I was thinking about my chili recipe.
This will sound super spiritual, but on occasion the pastor will make a point and my mind takes of on a different tangent creating a different sermon. Then I miss most or part of his sermon. Oops.
i wonder how often other pastors, while listening to someone else preach, think “i would have actually gone this way with that point etc”
I know that on occasion they borrow a sermon. I remember one time being at our church camp and hearing a visiting minister preach a good sermon. Later that summer I was at another church camp and the guest speaker was someone that was at the first camp. He stole the sermon from the first camp, and he did not do anywhere near as good of presenting it.
The Lord had not spoken it to him…thats why.
Could be. But then again, I don’t think there were any other people at the second camp that heard the original sermon, so who knows, they may have thought it was great.
Yeah, mine has been doing a series on David recently and a couple weeks ago it was about his friendship with Jonathon and I got really off track thinking of how I’d kick Saul’s ass for trying to kill my best friend if I were Jonathon.
and i have also thought, “do i have a friend that is my jonathan” and i don’t think so. maybe. maybe 1, but they were BROS and yeah saul HATED david
Wouldn’t it be better to hit Saul instead of his beast of burden. What did that donkey ever do to you?
That donkey was talking mad shit tho
That would be funny if he went to your church.
I’d make all sorts of dog comments whenever he was around
Well, this guy is completely wrong on the Vikings 2024 cap space.
The Vikings have 39 players and 2 players with dead cap totaling $196 million.
2024 Cap is expected to be $256 million.
Basic math says the Vikings currently have $56 million in 2024 cap space.
Over the cap says the Vikings have $51 million in 2024 cap space.
So this dude is a moran.
I would say that he was referring to the 2023 cap space before the offseason started since he tweeted in january of 2023
LOL.
Well yeah, that makes sense I guess.
My bad.
I would say he’s a dog fucker.
I mean, both are apparently true
He also fucks dogs.
I want this line to be at the end of every political add I see:
’Joe Jerkemoff is a tax and spend democrat with a weak voting record and a history of left wing politics…
….and he also fucks dogs.
..Vote Dave Dickemround..’
The Vikings kept trying to run to the right even though that side and the C sucked horribly, I’m used to seeing Bradbury and Ingram suck dog balls, but I don’t think I’ve seen O’neill play that bad since his rookie season. PFF sucks and molests collies though.
Regarding the Falcons playing dirty football.
yes.
it’s what they do – Teddy B’s first start they were doing the same thing (totally different coaching regime then, obviously. It’s in their blood) I remember Hitman snagging a pick late in the 1st half and Minny stole a field goal and Zimmer was furious coming off the sideline – ATL special teams just diving at the knees of our long snapper, crashing the holder well after the kick and no flag.
Several no call cheap shots clear back to ‘98 NFCCG iirc…
dirty birds indeed…
A rules question. Know the face mask rule which is called pretty tightly against defenders
But see Rb’s and even QB’s straight arm the crap out of defenders right in the face mask. You can actually see defenders heads pop back. But no call.
Is face mask only a one way call.
Basically yes.
Another rules question. Grabbing the ball carrier by the top of the shoulder pads (horsecollar) is a penalty because “it’s dangerous.”
But tackling by one’s hair extensions is perfectly fine……..
Don’t have extensions, problem solved
Zactly…cut your Damn hair and you do not have to worry about it.
When is it appropriate to start listening to Christmas music? I will hang up and check back in at lunch time to see how many of you are correct.
anytime is appropriate for christmas music, imo
Freezey wins.
Doesn’t go with the ‘Post T-Day’ moratorium like Christmas Decorations?
Friday November 24th
Day after Thanksgiving.
This is America.
Listen to whatever you please, whenever you please.
More important to define ‘Christmas’ music. I refuse to go the PC route and say ‘holiday’ music.
But I quite enjoy the musical talents of Mr. Adam Sandler, in particular his ‘Thanksgiving’ and ‘Hanukkah’ songs – neither are about Christmas, but I call them Christmas music.
Mordor also wins.
I do not believe anything Christmas related should begin until after thanksgiving. I was abhorred the retailers being open on Thanksgiving day for christmas shopping, it was shameful and I’m glad they stopped doing it. I’ve been highly criticized for my anti christman pre thanksgiving stance, but I will die on this hill.
Lol…. My wife loves Christmas and I’m home today with the dogs and probably going to surprise her by putting up the tree.
don’t judge me
We still have our Halloween tree up, we put up the christmas stuff after Thanksgiving, usually on black friday, this year it will have to be later as we’re going to Disney World the week of thanksgiving
Huh… I always thought of a Vikings fan being in the ‘happiest place on Earth’ meant me standing in a burning Lambeau Field while watching Sean Payton get nut-kicked relentlessly by a donkey hopped up on meth at the 50 yard line….
LOL, I don’t know about that, we’re surprising the 4 y/o
a halloween tree? ok SATAN
It is black with, I think you call them sugar skulls, decorations.
I am with Ben Dum Dum on this……NO CHRISTMAS STUFF UNITL AFTER THANKSGIVING
Always.
I think I’m actually going to have all Christmas hymns at my funeral. I think that would be pretty fun and uplifting for attendees.
December 1
After Thanksgiving.
One of my boys is also adamant about that also. It is fun to annoy him with earlier Christmas music.
Never
I actually like Christmas songs, but our local station, driving to Thanksgiving dinner, no Christmas songs, driving home nothing but Christmas songs.
RIP
@Not true, Kirk got Covid once@
Kirk Cousins would have NEVER tried getting into the endzone there… so it begs the question… is that smart on Kirks part or weak sauce that he would have probably just given himself up…?
IDK, neither smart or weak, Kirk just isn’t wired that way, he likely throws the ball away or takes a sack.
Yup, agreed.
I’d guess he be sacked before the hole opens to run through it.
Nothing wrong with scrambling if play blows up. But there’s a difference between scrambling and taking on defenders.
I bet if you told Kirk there were free Creed tickets in the endzone he’d take on defenders to get there! And it’s not ever that he loves Creed that much that he would be willing to put himself in harms way it’s saving that $100 on the ticket that really motivates that Minivan Man!
He might!
But Hall is not going to last very long doing this.
Agree here. Scrambling is fine in Open space.
Goal line you need to know how to protect yourself.
You never want to be in a position where you stop running and turn away from a hit. If you are going to run in the goal line, better know how to protect yourself.
Hall should have just went for the pylon I think he could have made it, less risk of that hit.
agreed!
also, welcome!!!
Welcome!
Fun fact, Daunte Culpepper hold the record for most fumbles in a season with 23. Dobbs is on pace for 20ish, it would be really something if he tied Culpepper.
that is so many fumbles, holy smokes.
What’s worse is Daunte hold three season in the top ten all time, and a whopping 55 in his first three season, but yeah, he was sooooo much better than any other Vikings QB ever according to libman55
He was. At fumbling.
I looked up some additional stats, he actually had 102 fumbles in 104 career games, which is the highest fumble rate in NFL history for anyone who played like more than a couple seasons, wow, he was awful.
that’s honestly mind blowing.
Yeah, but libman55 will certainly just ignore this information in his blissful ignorance, he must be tired of getting owned because he’s barely commented today.
being owned by 2 people must be downright depressing
Libman55 this morning
Yup. Crazy to wonder what might’ve been considering the ‘never-seen-before’ physical talents he possessed. Clean up that part of his game and takeaway the shredded knee and who knows?
libman55 after seeing those stats and his argument of daunte being the best ripped to shreds…….
Is this what it looks like when the refs are “just letting them play”? Between the KJ hit, the head shot to Hall’s ear hole and this play, seems like the NFL may want to consider issuing some fines/suspensions this week.
Agreed, there were a LOT of cheap shots from the Falcons.
Yeah Falcons were head hunting yesterday, they must be taking notes from the Saints
That was simply a dirty play – throwing a forearm to the face of the receiver. Should have been 15 right there.
Was he going for the face punch or punching the ball? IT DOESN’T MATTER. Ya know? It’s just like a face mask where you weren’t trying to grab their face mast but it’s still a penalty!
There was nothing wrong with the hit on Karen, the defender actually went to hit him in the midsection but Hall is short and lower his head and body, and a QB running the ball has no protections as at that point he’s considered an RB, also not defenseless like WRs. It wasn’t the hit that knocked him out either, it was when his head hit the ground that did it, otherwise he’d have fumbled. That addison play should have been penalized, the defender is obviously trying to punch the ball but it still should have been penalized. The KJ was rightly flagged, if the defender kept his head up he’d have seen Osborn was going down but you can’t see shit when you lead with the crown of your helmet.
It looks to me like the first defender led with his head…you can see how his body is positioned in the still shot at the beginning of this video. I agree the concussion was due to hitting his head on the turf when he was tackled by the LB. But that doesn’t make the initial contact OK. The fact he was at that point out of the pocket and running the ball doesn’t change the rules about leading with the head, especially when it results in head-to-head contact.
If you pause it right before the hit, the guy hit hall with the crown of the helmet.
However, it happens so fast I was not surprised it wasn’t flagged, and it is hard to see in real time.
Plus, it does seem like the ground knocks him out.
It doesn’t seem, its evident the ground knocks him out. As far as leading with the crown, its rarely called on a run play when a defender does it, and never gets called when the ball carrier does it.
Hall didn’t lead with his head…he was facing the sideline when the defender hits his ear hole with the crown of his helmet. I didn’t think it was a big miss when no penalty was called because it happened so fast. But, per my original post, it wouldn’t surprise me if the NFL issues a fine on the play after their weekly review of game tapes.
No suspensions until the week before the Falcons play the Packers, oh wait they already beat the Pack week 2.
I believe I had a conversation last week/week before about how defenses were playing to hurt people more recently.
I was told I was wrong, that that’s just football.
i remember this conversation….fwiw
The thing I liked most about yesterdays game, was the sidelines. Offense celebrating the defense and defense celebrating the offense. High fives from both sides, that’s how you know you have a team. Most of the time it looks like a middle school dance with the girls on one side of the gym and boys on the other side.
Addison does not suck.
We should not cut him.
I believe it also cost the Falcons a timeout, because of the challenge.
ehhh
They still had a timeout left when the final whistle sounded.
Your are coming up with some good takes today.
Did the wife or someone steal your log in?
I got a bunch of 20mg gummies. Been taking those. Usually cut in half. 20 is a bit much.
I take 3 of those and go shopping….
That’s a lot.
20 is fine if I’m not drinking.
Or if I’m just going to stay in.
3 I would be a mess.
It was for me too at one point. I rarely drink. Occasionally a few beers in the summer, but still rare.
I’ve done a lot of work to build my tolerance.
I’m envious that you only need 20.
Wow, I used to have to cut 10 mg gummies in half or I wouldn’t be able to function.
mrs freeze was worried he would get whiplash on that play
That catch was filthy. PA and Bercich were going nuts
Dat toe drag SWAG
This WAS an amazing catch. Makes up for 2 or 3 of his drops.
stu this morning
I thought KJ was ded yesterday. Was very happy to see him giving a thumbs up and looking positive. Will be back in a couple games max
I thought he was ded too, then all of a sudden he popped up like
Yep, that was a scary hit.
Fantasy football guys I would like to get a real #1 WR like Jefferson or Chase. Willing to trade the Saints defense for it. Hit me up.
Skolly is that you?
LOL, I’m sure you would go for that.
I have JJ, ain’t getting him unless you knock my socks off with an offer.
Has the Dobbs era began?
Nah.
He sucks.
Cut him.
OK!
He is pretty big for a QB.
Photoshopped?
lol…. Yep
You definitely do not “hang out” in the same neck of the Internet I do.
Trade him for a boatload of picks in the offseason and sign Kirk for 5 years $200M guaranteed.
MT isn’t a serious person today…
I would say 250 million for 5 is perfect
Falcons D:
6th in yards/game
14th in EPA.
1st in league EPA against rush.
They seem to be an average D overall that is very good at stopping the run.
And we insisted on trying to run the ball on every first down yesterday lol. I realize that thats because of who we had under center and how they basically had no idea how to run the offense, but still. Man what a fun one.
It was awful that we tried to keep running on 1st down…Consistently put us in a bad situation.
Yeah I saw that in the first half they ran on first down 8 times and gained -14 yards, that sucks, cut it.
Regardless of all those PFF grades, our run blocking is very poor. We consistently allow penetration at or near the point of attack. No back will do well with this.
We give KOC so much credit for coaching a good game, yet there are head-scratchers like that, consistently…. I just don’t know what to think sometimes.
That, and constantly playing Mattison over Akers and Chandler, who are both better.
Do we think they’ll add to the RB room in FA and if so, who? Hard to see them going with Matty, Chandler & Kene as our RB room.
trade for cook? i mean cook is better than what we have and if he’s fairly cheap, he knows the system….WHY NOT
Because the trade deadline has come and gone?
THAT would hinder a trade…..
Lol freeze so stoopid
Have the Jets cut him, we pick him up and just give the Jets a late round pick… That’s totally not a trade lol.
Dobbs
Right?!? I said yesterday whoever the starter is going forward won’t have a running game to play with – they will be the running game essentially. I see a lot of scheming to that effect going forward – lots of rollouts, bootlegs – get them in space with open throwing lanes, running options. Could be a lot of fun to watch.
Probably bring that rookie who sucks up from the PS
could see that – too bad Playoff Lenny is in Buffalo. I like him – good pass catcher, runs hard.
I’m not sure who that is, Murray?
Fournette
Ah yes, I don’t remember seeing him play last night though.
Just on the ps this week.
Was wondering that too, is Kene fully healthy?
AP is still looking to sign!
Do it! I suggested this last week – but not until after the bye week.
I’m all for it
Smith and AD walking to practice
Yeah, that’s about how fast he is nowadays…….
thought the vikings goaline stand after Dobb’s first fumble was pretty spectacular.
Sure was. Imagine last year’s defense in that position. Yikes.
In the above narrative:(he did have 2 fumbles, but he just wanted to fit in with the 2023 Vikings offense).
Made me LOL.
Wow, I looked up shit eating grin & that was the first image.
Is this how you are supposed to tackle?
They would have thrown Smith out of the game for this.
the falcons play dirty.
i would be curious how many helmet to helmet hits they have had recently, but i feel like every time i have seen them play, someone in their secondary is doing stuff like this.
He’s gonna get a hefty fine for sure. This is exactly the type of play the NFL is trying to stop.
Guys trying to secure the ball and the defender launches himself at a guy with the crown of the helmet.
Dangerous for all involved.
Boot his ass for 4 games if they really want to end that crap.
Fine and suspend the DC for allowing it as well.
It happened so fast in real time it was hard to see how bad this was but that still shot is really damning. Looks to me like he should have been ejected.
can the league review stuff and then radio to the head official “btw throw him out”
Yes, the announcers said something to that affect yesterday when KJ was lying on the ground. They said New York could still step in and have him ejected. I guess the idiots in New York hate the Vikings too.
Smith got ejected for far less in 2020 in Houston.
Yes, yes he did.
Can we not say that although the guy coming in from our left launched leading with the crown of his helmet he actually hit Osborn in the shoulder? Therefore he shouldn’t be suspended.
The Vikings scored more than 30 points yesterday for the first time this season.
Most accurate rankings I’ve seen ever
https://twitter.com/thebetterluke/status/1721281936075686041?t=zLrGaKYqFdHSVL004Xr6gg&s=19
Lol… I think 10 is the funniest.
Hall is WAY too low on this list. if he didn’t get hurt he was on pace for 20/24 312 and PROBABLY 7td’s
I heard 15 TD’s….. 11 throwing and 4 rushing.
Brandon Powell has come up with some important catches when needed.
He was a good pick up.
I love the hopium after a big win like this. Backups playing like superstars, new guys coming up big, all are cool. Everyone thinking that Dobbs, the perennial backup, will have a Keenum type of year. Or maybe he will be the next Kurt Warner that just gets his opportunity at the right time on the right team. Enjoy it today.
Enjoy it today… sounds like a threat haha.
Yup.
We know how it is around here. Next week may very well be Doomsville.
Every week is Doomsville for some of these turds… then they will go… “See told ya so!”
Kodiak would have been insufferable with the 1-4 start.
I remember last year pressing someone last year to admit that before they played that if the Vikings beat the Bills that would prove they aren’t some fluke. They agreed… then of course backed out and it was all a fluke and luck but they took the terms because they knew there was NO WAY, the Vikings could possibly win.
We are! Fun stuff.
Goooooose Morning Skolhomies!
We have a winning football team.
I want to see more of Jaren Hall (The Latter Day Launcher)
But it’ll have to be in mop up duty – this is Josh Dobbs team now.
Stuff to clean up, gotta protect the ball.
Also need to give him a nickname….
Since he absolutely stole that win (and Vikings fans hearts, amirite?) and he’s hairless, I’m gonna go with:
Smooth Criminal
SKOL!
i REALLLLLLLLY like the latter day launcher. that’s good.
My opinion: Great win by the team/Dobbs, but don’t fall in love. He will crap the bed soon enough and we will see why he has been a journeyman. I will cheer for the Vikings to do well, but Hall has bigger upside and potential than Dobbs at this point, and likely better ball security. Hall will be starting before long, I think (or maybe wish, to see what we have).
Very likely, and I agree with your take on Hall too.
It will be interesting to see what Dobbs can do. Can he pull a Case Keenum?
Tune in each week to find out.
Hall – don’t know his real size, but he won’t last very long trying to run over defenders in the NFL.
6 foot, 205
With cowboy boots on?
There was an asterisk
*While standing on the backs of three wives.
Now that makes sense.
For comparison
Dalvin cook 5’10” 210.
Akers is 5’10” 217
Mattison is 5’11” 216.
Basically comes down to knowing how to deliver a hit.
Hall may turn out to be great – have only seem him for like 3 series ever.
Height is nice to have when throwing from the pocket.
It is – but it’s not a deal breaker. Drew Brees needed a step ladder to see 6 feet, but he did fine throwing from inside the pocket – he perfected the head tilt while on top of his toes to see over the OL to throw.
I agree, but Brees is a HOF QB. More of an exception.
Hall may well be just fine, but a little height doesn’t hurt either.
Hall just looks really small and fragile.
I kind of joked on Friday that he looked too small to last long.
That was a very rookie thing to do. Hopefully he now understands that it is not a good idea.
He’s 6’0″ and 207 pounds.
Average NFL RB is just under 6′ and 215….then again they know how to deliver a hit instead of taking one.
It was a good decision to run, and he tried to cut back inside and sneak in the endzone instead of just sprinting and diving for the corner, which would have probably worked. But he got double-teamed and slammed backwards into the turf by a secondary hit that had nothing to do with him “trying to run someone over” and was just bad luck and timing.
Might as well learn early. Even guys like Jackson and Hurts are learning to temper their taking off and running.
My point was that he is not small, and if you are going to run you better know how to deliver a hit.
Watch the clip. He turns away from the hit and gets smoked. Bad decision. Bad angle. Either cut for the sideline and go down fast, or turn up field and position yourself to properly hit someone. Those are your options to keep yourself safe.
Instead he stopped his momentum and turned away from the hit, and got absolutely lit up. No team would ever teach that as the proper thing to do here.
Dumb, bad, rookie fuck up that I bet KOC will explain to him in depth.
Nah, I think he tried to tuck and turn inside and sneak past the defender (thinking the defender was believing he was going outside). He was trying to split the defense or cut inside hoping the defender would keep running towards the sideline. It had nothing to do with “turning away from the hit” IMO.
anyone watch the dallas/eagles game?
there were many “vikings-esqu” plays that seemed to happen to the cowboys that makes me think i guess it’s not only the vikings that have weird/dumb/super close calls/plays go against them at the most inopportune times….
dang though, was pulling for the cowboys which is gross to say.
Same, always cheer against the Eagles.
yep, my kids even ask me…
“Dad, if the packers were playing against the eagles, who would you cheer for”
i mean 99% of the time, i’d cheer for packers, unless a playoff spot was on the line then i wouldn’t watch at all
