Which is a good thing in general. They’re both under contract through 2025 so why would you worry about extending them now, especially after eating multiple years of the Zim and Spielman contracts.
I would expect 2 year extensions after the season.
They would want to avoid another situation like what happened in 2009 – 2010. When they extended Childress in Nov of 09 when everything was happy and fun extended him through 2013, and then he was immediately fired the next year. Its OK to wait.
Not sure. But look at it like this (just an opinion).
They inherited a team that underperformed some and immediately won 12 games and the division. Maybe good coaching but GM didn’t do much.
Then fell off and won seven games. To be fair, at least one major injury played a big part in the results. So sort of a push on coaching, GM still wait and see.
Now, we have a rebuilding type year, so could be two straight down years. But if there is enough positive signs, owner probably feels good. Now, if this is a dogshit years while the Lions and Packers shine, and the Bears start to take off, there will be a lot of pressure.
So, think this year is pretty important.

Let’s see, we have a former Marine who was on the ground, and in the fight in Iraq, and a guy who quit and ran, when he was supposed to go to Iraq.

Winning is always nice. But a great many coaches use preseason to try different plays and schemes that they might not otherwise use. And there’s always evaluating talent in certain types of situations.
Growing up seemed the Yankees used to come in last in the Grapefruit League and then would win the World Series every year.
Yeah, we all get the “we’re playing chess while everyone else is playing checkers” perspective. Gotta be smart, can’t give away too much “intel” on what the team will look like in the real games, etc. Just always better when you can do all that and still post a “W”.

I have learned to appreciate running events. I used to scoff at the sport, but now I like seeing them dig deep on the kick in the distance stuff.
I think Jared Nguse could have even picked off Kerr if he had a few more meters.
I also look forward to the men’s 5000m. Jacob Ingebrigsen will also run that.
And the women’s 10000m to see how Parker Valby can hang with the elites. She likely won’t do well, but she is super young.
I guess the women’s 1500m will be okay, too. I like Elle St. Pierre. She is like a dairy farmer in Vermont when she doesn’t run in the Olympics.

I kind of got started with Jacob Ingebrigsen. Not sure why exactly. I think I was looking for running tips on YouTube.
Kind of sad to watch Jacob fall off (but he is arrogant). He used to grind people down to dust with pace and take away their kick. The Norwegians developed new training methods that gave them an edge for awhile, but now everyone has caught back up it seems.
Parker Valby kind of runs the same way. Her kick is not good, but she would kill everyone with pace. That won’t work in the Olympics, though. Athletes got pace and kick at that level. I think she will get dropped pretty easy. Might just be a college phenom that can’t make the leap. Have to see. It is something to watch.
I don’t care about the sprints as much. 1500-10000 is what I like to watch. Marathons are too long, but the 2018 Boston Marathon has kind of a neat story. A 9-5 Japanese guy came out of nowhere to beat everyone on a crappy, rainy day. It is fun to watch the recap. Guy started out like he was on fire, and the announcers are goofing on him, “Who is this wacky fellow? No way he is going to last…”
Then by like mile 20, they are going, “What is going on? He’s still there!”

Since 2021, the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH), an agency of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), has pumped over $3 million into the study.

I am aware they have done similar studies in the Military which did not produce the results they wanted so they just ignored them.
(The suicide rate among tranny military persons and veterans who undergo gender reassignment procedures is the same as the trannies who don’t – because these people are all sick)
But you could be right, they may just lie about the results.
Usually they latch on to one particular segment of the data that allows them to push a narrative. They know that most people don’t read too closely and instead focus on the headline of the article. If someone debunks the findings, the “damage” is already done in publishing it and the narrative is created. Then they’ll continue to point to that particular study despite people calling it out.
I know, it’s a super downer of a take, but it’s been done a number of times.
Yeah, it’s infuriating. Scientific research is supposed to simply test a theory or be a source of discovery, not to push a preconceived narrative.

There were a lot of folks who felt Harris should have picked Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro as her running mate, but his Jewish faith and pro-Israel stances were seen as liabilities. On CNN, host Audrie Cornish noted that if Shapiro had been selected, it would’ve been a “slap in the face” to the activist wing of the Democratic Party.
He was seen as the face of the campus crackdowns, with Shapiro labeling them antisemitic, and they were. Jake Tapper interjected, noting that the campus protests over the war that Gov. Shapiro did call out were indeed promoting anti-Jewish bigotry.
Did Cornish expose the activist wing of the Democratic Party as anti-semitic? I think she did.
This is why nothing gets done in DC. To many times the moderates allow the extremists to run the parties.
