Friday has finally arrived! We’ve trudged through another week and are at the doorstep of another summer weekend. I’m not sure exactly what we’re doing yet. My wife is out in Minnesota at a family reunion, and kiddo and I haven’t decided whether we’re driving out there or not. We have tickets to the Larks tonight, so we stayed back to attend the game. We may head out in the morning, or we may stick around home and do something else. I suppose we’ll make that decision in the morning. Why rush?

Minnesota Vikings News:
At SI.com, Rick Spielman thinks that the Vikings should sign free agent running back Kareem Hunt. If Spielman is saying we should do it, then it’s likely not a good idea.
At Vikings.com, David Carr thinks the Vikings will be a 10-win team in 2023.
Kevin Seifert at ESPN thinks the Vikings offense will remain potent despite the offseason turnover. The offense didn’t have much turnover, with the exception of Dalvin Cook. Thielen left, but losing 2022 Thielen won’t be very significant, IMO.
From NFL.com, Deandre Hopkins feels great and says that he’ll retire when he’s not a 1,000 yard receiver anymore. I guess OBJ should have retired several years ago, then.
Jared Dubin at CBS Sports looks at data to try to determine the optimal amount of ‘bench time’ a new QB should accumulate prior to starting.

Here’s a little Jimi to get your Friday rolling, this is All Along the Watchtower. Enjoy!
It’s Saturday morning, it’s raining, and apparently I’m the only one awake. Already went to IHOP and had breakfast, fed the cats, and I’m on my second cup of coffee here at home.
Rodgers the pedo.….

It’s Friday night….
The loyalty on this site is amazing, especially as it has a group that has stuck together over several sites. Do you develop that or do you Bud Light the core group?
Some people had a major stick up their butt today. Not too mention any names (cough, skolly, cough).
Naw just want the site to grow and more than 15 users commenting the same stuff everyday. Want some fresh blood with different opinions and takes but zero chance that happens with threads like earlier today
Fine.
I will stay away for awhile.
Sorry so many people love Kirk.
I don’t know about “loving” Cousins, Surly, but I certainly respect him. He plays behind one of the worst interior pass blocking groups in the league, and has for basically his entire career. Yet, he puts up big numbers every year. Takes big hits and keeps going. Never complains, or bad mouths anyone. Just comes to work, and does his job extremely well.
Agreed. People that don’t know football and just constantly say KAM sucks are the worst.
Brad, how about putting a mobile app on the developer todo list?

FTP. Only football news i know.
Just following the theme of Mjolnir’s nice tribute to his late mother’s life…
I am always surprised by how calmly people take bad news in life. Maybe it’s because before they get in to see me they have already processed that the outcome of the exam or biopsy could be bad. It almost seems like a relief to some. I’ve never (knock on wood) had someone cry out or (for example) smash a phone. I’m sure part of it is just shock but often they ask very appropriate questions afterward.
Of course I attended some end of life conferences as a medical student. The first time I remember giving bad news solo, though, was when the internal med service consulted GI to get an endoscopic biopsy of a mass in the pancreas seen on CT. A couple of days later when I showed up to round at 0630 the results were back (adenocarcinoma of course)…we were already planning to discharge the patient to home that day and I paged GI to ask if they were going to break the news, and he informed me (appropriately I might add) that he had just been consulted to obtain a specimen, giving the news could be done by his care team. I went in to see the patient (one rounds by oneself prior to group rounds with the team of interns and residents with staff), of course he asked if the results were back and I sat down and gave him the bad news. I remember he cried a bit, we exchanged a hug and he talked for a little while about his life, and then said well don’t let me keep you too long doc, I’m sure you have people to see.
It’s a humbling career.
That is where the rubber of real life meets the road. No conversations have the level of gravity as those. That is why gouger’s get paid the big bucks.
I’ll always have a soft spot for all the medical professionals, in particular the nurses, that were really amazing in that regard. The reality for me was that I had very much mourned my mother’s death while she was still alive – didn’t cry at the funeral, including during ‘Unchained Melody’ which now brings tears instantly. Was well over a year later, while walking in a grocery store that I smelled sample size garlic bread that reminded me of her and had a psychosomatic reaction that ended with me sobbing while running out of the store. It lasted 5 minutes and hasn’t happened since. I remember the day – same day Brett Favre returned to FTP as a Viking and lit them up.
Headed to St Pete to meet some old friends for dinner. Haven’t seen them for over 5 years now. It’s their anniversary so I’m buying. Place called Parkshore Grill.
I’ll wire you some money if you need it I know you’re on a fixed income.
I am on a fixed income….I take charity….
I spent way too much time on this Excel formula today because I am not an Excel expert.
=IF(C41=0,”0″,IF(65-(+C41+D41)/2>0,65-(C41+D41)/2,0))
As a database developer and Admin, Excel has been the bane of my existence for years. Too many smart people doing stupid shit with data.

Surly is also still salty about this, and also still hates the NHL for allowing the North Stars to move to the cesspool that is Texas.

This one got me lol…
MT could give a fuck about people not liking what he has to say
Solid as usual Benjammin. In my defense, I wanted to respond to the thumbs down on my comment, but those are still anonymous.
Holy smokes.
I can’t even fathom a $1,000 per month car payment.
To appease skolly, I think Vikings players could afford this payment, easy.
“I think Vikings players and could afford this payment, easy.”
Not that they would need to as they could just pay cash upfront.
Good times. My wife still likes to rib me from time to time that I had a car payment when we met, and it wasn’t $1000.
Not sure if “football talk” is still a thing around here, but on the topic of Mattison. I think I shared an analysis I did based on the premise of “if Mattison gets a work load similar to Cook 2022, what might it look like”. I was curious because a lot of folks were/are pointing to Mattison’s 3.8 Y/A rushing average in 2022 as a basis for concern. But the problem, in my mind, was that when you look at the game logs you realize Mattison had less than 5 carries in 11 of 17 games last year, and only 1 game where had had more than 9 carries (he had 10 carries in that game). Most RBs need touches to get into any sort of rhythm, especially a guy like Mattison who’s been known to get more efficient the more he’s involved in the game.
I won’t detail the analysis I did but it essentially projected that, based on Mattison’s career production at varying workloads, he should be a solid replacement for Cook circa 2022 (slightly less rushing yards but slightly more receiving). That said, this morning I decided to do one additional, simpler analysis.
Mattison has only started 6 games in his career (i.e. a small sample size): 2 in 2020 and 4 in 2021 (he didn’t have any starts in his 2019 rookie campaign or in 2022). In those 6 games, he averaged 116 yards from scrimmage per game compared to Cook 2022 who averaged 86 yards from scrimmage per game. This would equate to nearly 400 additional yards from scrimmage for Mattison in 2023 when compared to Cook 2022.
Am I saying this is going to happen? NO. But if Mattison can average 75% of his career scrimmage yards in games he starts, and assuming he’s healthy for 17 games, he’ll essentially replace Cook’s 2022 production. This should give us a lot of hope.
The next question in my mind is can we be confident Mattison can hold up as the lead back over the course of a 17-game season? We won’t know until we know but, again, there’s hope. In college, Mattison averaged more than 21 and 25 touches per game in his junior (14 games) and senior (13 games) respectively. Last season Cook averaged just under 18 touches per game in 17 starts. College isn’t the pros but Mattison has shown he can be durable with a higher workload than Cook 2022.
Finally, just because I love this Mattison stat. Cook had 4 fumbles last season (which is his average per season the last 4 years) on 303 total touches. Mattison has 3 total fumbles over his college and pro career on 1,115 touches. To be fair, 2 of his fumbles are on his 474 touches in the NFL but, as much as I like Cook, I was getting tired of how often he was putting the ball on the ground. Mattison should give the Vikings much better ball security.
Different players for sure, but I’m optimistic about AM as top dog. Good read.
We have not won a Super Bowl since Mattison was brought in. Thus he sucks and we should get rid of him.
I have used sillier logic today.
This works for me.
We also never won an Owl with Moss or Peterson on the team. Ergo, they were ass too.
I think he will do well too. If he gets hurt though, our drop in talent is rather steep.
Spielman had this to say:
https://www.si.com/fannation/bringmethesports/vikings/rick-spielman-suggests-vikings-should-sign-kareem-hunt
Not too bad an idea. Would create a good RB tandem and insurance if Matty gets hurt.
Maybe they’ll just bring back Cook when he realizes he isn’t gonna get paid.
Cousins hinted at it a couple weeks ago.
I think his comment also might have implied his opinion of Mattison’s talent level – if Mattison was so good why would he be thinking about the possibility of re-signing Cook?
I wouldn’t read into Kirk’s comment. I think it was more of nod toward his respect for Cook than a subtle commentary on Mattison’s talent. In earlier, separate comments Kirk talked glowingly about how glad he was the Vikings re-signed Mattison and indicated Alex was one of a couple of guys (Bradbury being the other) that he really didn’t want to see go.
Cousins is a robot when it comes to the media. I take as comments as seriously as a wet fart while swimming in the lake.
I totally agree that’s the key question/concern. With Cook/Mattison, we had a known quantity at RB2. If Alex goes down, who knows what we’ve got.
That said, I remember 2017 when Cook blew out is ACL in game 4 and I thought our season was over. But Murray and McKinnon combined to create a solid RB duo. Obviously, they were both established veterans at the time compared to our current depth but I could see McBride and Chandler providing a similar, “thunder & lightening”, one-two punch.
In his limited opportunities, Mattison showed he was much more willing than Cook to try and run over tacklers, similar to Percy Harvin. It didn’t end well for Harvin.
Mattison may end up hurt more often than Cook was.
This guy liked to run people over. Didn’t get hurt a lot, but fumbles could be an issue.

me reading through all his injuries after bowbunch was an idiot
In fairness, I’d have to look at someone else’s injury history to see if that’s a lot, a little, or average.
Other than the ACL (and that one other non-injury incident) I don’t remember him missing large swaths of time. Maybe he was dinged, but I wouldn’t call that injured.
He’ll be ok. His is not and has never been explosive but if he can simply be an efficient runner the offense will be fine.
All I can say is, we will see.
I don’t think he will hold any linebackers in check with play action.
Until he proves it.
I don’t think he will have any dynamic that Cook had.
Cool opinion and I’m not saying you’re wrong. But would love to see some data to back up your concern. Until then, I’ll lean on the actual data I used to shape my view.
BTW, I agree he’s not going to “scare” defenses as much as Cook and I also agree (although you didn’t say it but I’m assuming you’re inferring it) he won’t be as explosive. But his history of production against those same linebackers you’re worried about suggests we’ll be just fine with him as RB1, as long as he doesn’t get hurt. If we were comparing him to Cook earlier in his career, then I’d be more concerned. But replacing Cook’s 2022 production isn’t a stretch, which is all I’m saying.
Production will likely be close to Cook 2022.
Since Mattison hasn’t been the starter, there won’t be a big enough data set to formulate any accurate assessment, IMO.
I won’t underestimate the loss of Cook.
I think it will matter the first few weeks of the year.
I didn’t see any plays with play action, but he shows a decent burst through open holes, ability to change direction, ability to power through tackles.
Yeah.
It’s reasonable.
Still “looks” a tad slower than Cook.
checks to see skoldiers response to actual football talk…
but….
crickets…..
Yep, baby skolly must have kept him up last night. He just came to complain, not contribute. Or he just needed a pretense to share something about his crush Brady.
i mean brady is my crush too…so i won’t hold that against him.
isn’t it interesting how we all (people who post on here) come from different walks of life, and we all have different factors that can, in a single moment, change our attitudes or how we act or react to things. could be a bad night sleep. sickness. bad day at work. traffic. covid booster #243 acting up, etc….
that’s why i always, like you did with skoldiers, cut a little slack and figure there must be something more going on.
that being said, go suck on a bag of rocks if you disagree with ANY of my takes or opinions
I never take anybody too serious, especially when they are acting out of character. I don’t know what’s going on in somebody’s life, especially with all of us spread across the world. Oh, and you’re wrong. Not sure on what yet, but you’re wrong.
Solid post, good info. I agree Cooks ball security was a concern for me going back to the end of 2019 and only got worse. Im fine with a slightly slower, but just as productive Mattison with the extra ball security. We do not need to be putting out defense on the field more than they need to be.
We will be fine at running back. All Mattison has to do is not suck and bruise people in between the ball getting spread to JJ, KJ, Adison and Hock.
Sooo jumped on, did a quick scroll and re cap. Wittle Skolly is slowly losing his mind and needs to get a job or a 2nd one because he spends WAY too much time on here and takes his dumb takes way too seriously. Lifer is still brain washed and wants the end of Western Civilization as we know is just so he can be “right”. (Lol at the COVID comments – get educated not brainwashed). Same shit different day. I feel like if we want more members we should reach out and spread the word on other sites until they ban us. Thats just me.
Are we going to get a summary today?
Benjamin is a lazy a-hole, so probably not.
I thought he was a cheating whore?
Why not both??
I kid because I care.
Depends who you ask
Probably. I have been busier than usual lately but more available today.
She was a colicky baby….
The first child of 5 born to a housewife and an Army veteran-turned-electrician, when she was about 6 months old her father, wanting to give his wife some relief from the constant crying, took his little girl down to the riverbank, tossed in a line and would let her howl at the moon, giving birth to her nickname: Moondoggie.
15 years later she’d save her uncle, a WWII veteran, from that same riverbank after a gas lantern exploded in his face. Dragging his 220 lbs up the road and flagging down help. He lost an eye, but lived another 30 years thanks to her.
2 years after that, ranked top 5 in her class, she walked into the principals office and took the GED equivalency test. When told that she was in the short running to be Valedictorian, she shrugged and said ‘I’m outta here’ with a smile on her face, never looking back.
2 years after that she was standing on 2nd base in the bottom of the last inning of a softball game down a run when the batter hit a soft bloop single into right field. She blew past the stop sign of the 3B coach and chugged for home, the ball beating her by a full 2 steps, she lowered her shoulder and railroaded the catcher. She was called out immediately, tossed by the umpire who cited a clear violation of league rules. She was furious, kicking dirt on the umpire and at the very end of her tirade she pulled the burly man down to her level, kissed him on the cheek and said ‘I’ll see you at home honey’ – the ump was her fiancée, the same man, who as a kid lived down the street from her, swam the lakes and rivers with her and started teasing her at a young age, and the next day became her husband.
Less than a decade later she found herself working as a waitress, but only part-time. So she started a 2nd job, also as a waitress. She’d work M/W/F at one place, T/Th/Sa at another. Both places noticed the ‘regulars’ weren’t there when she was gone. They’d follow her to wherever she worked, some going so far as to call her employers to find out what days she worked. From there she met a man who needed an office manager. She went to work for him for almost 25 years. Her final title was VP of Operations.
She raised 3 kids. 1 boy and 2 girls. She doted on them, was tough when she needed to be and taught them the value of family, good cheese and how to stand up for themselves. She taught her son that others may open doors, but it was on him to square his shoulders, hold his head up and walk thru them.
She was fearless, unafraid to speak her mind to whoever, whenever – including when she shoved the son of the CEO of her husband’s company into a pool after he’d grabbed her ass at a party. She did the man a favor, as her husband was unaware of what happened and most assuredly would’ve meted out a rough justice that would have both brutal and swift. A day later her husband was called in to meet the CEO and was certain he was to be fired. He wasn’t, the CEO apologized profusely and informed the husband that he had removed his son from the company. That removal stayed permanent.
She was an athlete as a youngster, and it carried into her adulthood until at the age of 33 she was diagnosed with degenerative arthritis. Softball and bowling and water skiing went away. So she took up golf, regularly attending ‘ladies night’ at a course a few miles from home. She was late to this course one day and in a hurry she stopped at home. Athletic as she was, she was also clumsy and she slipped on a rug in the entryway of the house and jammed her side into a half-wall. It hurt, but she was tough, and she went golfing. The pain increased over a few days and so she went in to get an X-ray, certain she had just a cracked rib.
That’s when they found the cancer.
Small cell carcinoma in the lung. They gave her 6 months. That was in March of 2007. By Veteran’s day she was in remission. She celebrated Thanksgiving and Christmas with family. She laughed and joked and cackled. She loved. She won, and she had more time.
In February of 2008 her husband received a call from one of her employees. She was making mistakes that weren’t like her – She could run a 10 key calculator while juggling two computer screens, talking on the phone and painting her nails. She was a perfectionist at work and her employees were worried. So her husband coaxed her into going to see the doctor, just to make sure everything was okay.
‘It’s spread to her hips, her stomach and her brain…’
Those were the words her son heard first hand from the doctor, he’d hear nothing else as he smashed the phone in a fit of rage.
2 months later she broke her hip, halting all chemo and radiation while having a replacement. She was hospitalized in Lincoln. The son would come see her every morning after work, bringing fresh fruit and they talked about everything. Life, death, love, loss, football, religion, the afterlife…. The list was endless. She was a devout Catholic, he a lifelong skeptic. It broke her heart when he told her he wouldn’t sneak her out for a smoke, it broke his telling her no.
15 years ago today she took her last breath. She was 70 pounds when she died, her eyes were closed but her mouth was open as if in awe, and while her son is still a skeptic, he’s certain in her final moments she saw God.
She was my mother.
RIP Moondoggie.
Skol!
Nice tribute.
Thanks brother, I know it’s not football related but I could care less. Not meant to be sad. I’m to a point where I celebrate what she was and what she meant.
I get it.
yesterday would have been my fathers 99th birthday…he has been gone 5 years now. He was a great man.
When my son is asked what person he has admired the most, he doesn’t pick me or his mom, he picks my dad. I don’t even feel badly about that.
That’s awesome. Also, 94 is a helluva run.
Yep.
That’s what we all do.
Celebrate the impact our loved ones had on us.
Nice! Not sure why you smashed the phone, though…none of us are getting out alive. I get that call sucks (I’ve had it) but that’s the only thing that surprised me from the little I know about you. Wonderful remembrance.
The hammer I was 15 years ago was impulsive and reckless and thought he could destroy all the bad with his bare hands. I’ve grown a bit.
That’s good to hear, Mjolnir. Two things I hate seeing are little kids suffering/dying and dogs suffering/dying. That really hits me in the feels.
Same.
RIP
Very nice tribute. RIP
thanks for the cry.
i wasn’t going to read, but glad i did.
What a moving, thoughtful story. Maybe I can say God Bless as she was a devout Catholic.
For you Gopher and B1G fans
Who cares, they suck
Agree and so do you.
There’s 4 posts to discuss your opinion on or comment on for those that are bored.
That’s more than the total daily posts for the site talking only football you crave.
yes! i can’t wait to comment on tom brady’s love life
well ok i kind of want to
Poor things…
Some other reports saying they didn’t loose that in cash
They make that much in a year.
Good football take
Involves an ex-football player 🙂
Holy crap
They lost what they were paid to be spokespeople
chump change for them
Shit, I thought married, 57 year old, overweight bald guys were more her type.
They want to share STD strains.
Even better football story.
Involves an ex-football player 🙂
Big whoop. You gonna post some of Favre’s dick pics or Wrangler commercials next and call it football content?
Now it’s a party
How’s this?
I remember when several of you gave me a hard time when I said Brady will probably bang her for awhile.
Agree with all of those.
all wrong doom
Lifer, what scares me is how much you and I agree on football stuff.
We’re not that different you & I. They just want us to believe we are.
D.J. Dozier
Troy Williamson.
For me, it was Jarvis Redwine, RB from Nebraska in the 1981 Draft. I thought he would be a good replacement for Chuck Foreman, but alas, he sucked…
Classic my favorite CFB team player sucking in NFL
Jarvis Redwine was a dude…. I had access to all the old NU tapes from a buddy who worked at NU media and we’d watch all the old games from that era. Crappy production but was fun to see those old guys I’d only heard of.
Teddy Bridgewater.
I has a sad.
Skolly: you guys are boring, why isn’t anybody talking about anything?
Skolly when people actually talk about something: NO, NO, NO, I only want you to talk about how dumb KAM is!!!!
News flash to everyone on here bc some have rocks for brains on here!
NOBODY IS CHANGING THERE POLTICAL OR RELIGIOUS BELIEFS BY SOME RANDOM PERSON THROUGH A COMPUTER OR PHONE SCREEN ON HERE.
Why do we have to go here at some point… every. single. day. Painful.
I’ll give 100 skolly bucks if they can give me an example where someone on here switched from being a stupid lib to a MAGA Trump lover (or vice versa) OR someone converting to a new religion or reverting their religious identity to become an atheist from a discussion they had on Skoloholics.
THE ANSWER IS NOBOOOOOOOOOOOOOODY, so why do we talk about it?
Heck I’ll take the debates on Kirk over this. And those are close to painful.
Why do we have to hear how bad you think KAM is non stop?
Lmao at least it’s football related and I don’t complain about him everyday like some on here with political crap
You ding dongs get into a pissing match over crap that’s so freaking dumb like this everyday
You’re right. We should discuss all of the nothing happening in the NFL world right now and turn this place into the DN.
Maybe we’d get some new blood if that happened.
You’re ding dong stupid shit over politics detours 95% of the population
This could be true…
100% true. 1 new user in 6 months.
Quality over quantity.
Yup.
Stupid Lib
you rang?
Ha!
*Your
And yeah, that worked really well over there
Got a edge today Skolly?
No, just sick of the same old crap everyday when nobody is going to change. Just detours new users where we could get some new blood for a change of scenery and football takes.
95% or more of potential new users scroll through this and they’d be like WTF is going on. Screw this place.
And those same people don’t start commenting at the DN which is doing exactly what you propose. SCoraldiers
I myself was actually lurking on the DN for years and would have joined had it not been for the over-moderating. I really enjoy the football talk, when there is football things to talk about.
I also enjoy the other discussions when there is no football stuff to talk about. That is the reason I joined here and not the DN.
That can’t be.
Same here. I always disliked the over-moderation on the DN, very glad that we can have all kinds of discussions in this place.
And you think people are going to flop on the Kirk position following debate
No but at least it’s football related
I’m pretty new here. Love to talk football but this time of year is pretty tough. And the Kirk stuff back and forth is pretty old.
The politics stuff is just sort of funny to me.
We’ve had one new user in the last 6 months and that’s you.
Nobody wants to talk about this crap except the 12 of you that come on here everyday.
I think it will swing back to more football talk once there is more football to talk about.
I have some Cousins opinions I need to discuss further.
Exactly
Excuse me – one of the 12. I sparingly get into the politics but do comment at times. AND I in fact came here after lurking in response to a political comment based on my 40 plus years living in DC. I could care if I ever talked politicas again in my life.
Now since this bothers you so much. I will completely reframe from ever talking politics again here. And for that matter, not sure I need to comment at all.Lot of places to go and get football information.
Looking at some stats…. let’s see.
We average ~15 active users a day.
1 new active user in over 6 months actually. Looks closer to ~8 months.
I don’t care what people talk about. It’s free for all. My point is its the same shit everyday and nobody is changing their idealogy. All it does is detours 95+% of potential new users.
I care about new users and fun discussions on football, grilling, food, etc. Literally anything outside politics.
Also, as you said there’s lots of places to go and get football information… I can say the same thing about political stuff. Alot out there to talk stictly that.
I come from a world where you don’t talk in public about politics, religion, and sex. And I’m still good about that
You mention food – I can watch the food network for that and my wife does the cooking.
I come here for football. I live far away and come here for fresh or inside football (Viking) information. I have come to realize I am the only guy here that actually talks to actual players and even a Viking starter. I’d love to hear some “fresh real Viking” information.
Don’t get much.
I don’t know about your “detour 95 plus %, but you stand a good chance of losing the “1” given your shot today.
Sounds like this website is pointless then and GF should just shut it down. Or, hear me out, maybe the combination of the two and the myriad of other topics discussed here is what makes Skoloholics special. The political talks are amusing and are spurned by actual current events, not just some opinion piece about which QB some talking head thinks is the best.I’m not trying to change anybody’s mind and I’m pretty sure about 95% of what Lifer posts is bs and a front to get a rise out of people. He might be a dem, but I don’t think he’s the crazy lib he plays.
Ditto on Lifer. He used to bug me but now I actually think I could have a beer with him and laugh our asses off.
For sure we could and would….I’m politically between the moderate liberals and the batshit crazy progressives.
Somedays I’m this guy tho…..
This tracks…. I’ve never thought of you as crazy. Just passionate. And like anyone I think passion can cloud vision. Certainly has for me.
I’d golf 18 with ya. We might have to have separate carts, but it would still be fun.
See Skoldiers!! Now look what you have done…there will only be 11 of us here now.
In all honesty, I get what you are saying..and perhaps the conversation has drifted a little to far down the non football paths…
BUT I find people who are interested in politics, religion, philosophy etc. interesting. Especially if they can make coherent points defending their positions, even if I disagree with them.
*refrain
Brad says virtually any other topic. If i don’t like or not knowledgeable about subject i just move on. No big deal. If we talk about Purple there’s probably 7 comments.
Who’s Brad? Who are you? Who is Skoldiers? I can talk football or I can talk many other subjects.
But I object to someone “lecturing me” after offering a comment on a subject that I didn’t start. I really don’t need or will accept that.
Now, this guy wants to talk football – then get some content, much better content.Like this or not, and I’m rather unbiased on this, DN has better content. So, want more football talk, get better content to talk about.
Now, norseman 1, you are a very thoughtful person and I have enjoyed talking with you. But in all honesty, I’m more than a little pissed at this Skoldiers guy right now. Maybe it will pass, maybe it won’t. But lecturing just never works well with me.
GF has some rules up top, he mainly says be civil. Think you had a issue with kyfey or something. I’m not one to tell people what to talk about.
I did have a big issue with fkey some back – thought he had a vulgar mouth and didn’t consider that civil. Today someone named Skoldiers comes on here and lectures us (me) about talking about politics. Who is he?
I read ya. I think name calling is the worst. I’ve done once or twice but only i thought someone did it to me first.
My advice is don’t take things personally. In my early days back on the DN there were times I would get mentally “worked up” over some issue or another (the one I remember was some “mind the gap” comment about someone preferring really skinny girls) and, in addition, there were a notable few people that annoyed the piss out of me and I just had to avoid having convos. As time has passed I realize that we are all pretty similar here as if we all knew each other in real life – there are some people you just naturally have a fun conversation with and others where the convo is awkward and stilted because you aren’t on the same page.
The DN used to be amazing and we all know what happened when Coral and moderation stepped up.
As for newbies on the site, I usually don’t interact with them for awhile, waiting to see if they will stick around, unless they comment on something we share an interest in (are you a member of Bachelor nation?)
TL;DR version I could GAF about people not liking what I have to say, and if people are put off by convos in the OFFSEASON for Pete’s sake that aren’t about football so be it. Says more about them than about me.
Now if we had KOC on here daily telling us about his playcalls for the upcoming season I am sure a lot more lurkers would join in the daily chat. The offseasons past also benefited from some very proliferative posters ie filbert PPB Cane Supra etc
Good advice. I simply don;t understand someone coming on here today and lecturing us about talking about politics.
That’s like going to a swimming pool and bitching about people being wet.
Since this guy has some black sign under his name. am I suppose to listen to him? More so than you or norseman 1?
I wouldn’t worry about listening to anybody. Well maybe GF since this is his site I guess, but you have to push pretty hard to get on his bad side.
Well for, what, years Brad was the only moderator on the DN and I don’t know how he oops edit NEVER went batshit crazy, then Rob stepped in to take some of the moderator load. I’ve met them both IRL and if either of them told me to calm down (I think it happened once) I would definitely take it to heart.
The “other” newer mods on here are just good folk that stepped up to help post this thread and moderate the content but I don’t take the message as back off, just the tone of the post comes off sour. If lurkers are put off by the varied comments of the open thread there are always the main page articles to comment on.
The DN also had a rule pre Coral of no politics or religion as well as no content that would get someone fired, I understand that prohibition but it was only loosely enforced. And remember, there were some pretty vitriolic posts back in those days.
I was a lurker on the DN for years and you’re right about the vitriol. As an outsider looking in I found it entertaining – where I first learned of 5 and Kodiak, Lifer and the like. I’d go on the site and just immediately scroll to the comments. Then I found out about this place and did the same. Then I thought ‘I have opinions that nobody needs to hear’ and decided to toss my hat in the ring, hardest part was picking a good handle.
funny, and accurate.
I can promise that the football talk will improve as soon as the preseason starts and we have practice games to watch. For now, I have zero football insights so golf is what I talk about most.
Brad is GF – he created this place. Skoldiers, or Skolly is an Admin here. As is Mick and a few others (Lifer) Lecturing happens. I understand the discourse being troublesome but it’s no different anywhere else – unless it’s over-moderated and that just lends to the stifling of opinions and the silencing of speech, which this site rarely does, and I’m damn grateful we have it.
Well, the alternative is to have 12 total comments a day on the open thread like the DN….
All the way up to 3 today. Someday maybe we can strive to be that great.
Because its fun and there isn’t enough Viking stuff to talk about.
Not true. I used to just hate Libs, but now I hate everyone. I used to believe in God, but now…
Who was the person that convinced you on here to change?
Yeah!!! more free time on Sundays!!! 🙂
I enjoy talking about things other than football in the offseason. No Bachelorette fans or I might try that topic.
Oh the Elks lost to the Roughriders 11-12 last night. Are the Elks destined to have zero wins (0-5 currently)? I don’t know if the Elks/Eskimos (GASP RACIST) have ever had zero wins in a season.
AFAIK scouring through the seasons back to 1954 the Eskimos/Elks have never had a winless season. I doubt any team has. Something to aspire towards.
So the Lions are the worst team in 2 leagues?
I believe so.
Freezy trying to post a gif
Five converted and became Lifer, you can keep your Skolly bucks.
They have always been simply two personalities of the same person.
Yikes this thread
Ugly it is.
https://vikingswire.usatoday.com/lists/ranking-all-32-starting-qbs-patrick-mahomes-kirk-cousins-josh-allen-joe-burrow/
9
I will go with 9 as well…somewhere between 8 and 12 is acceptable.
12-15ish most weeks. 6-8 one to two weeks a season against scrub competition. Not a consistent top 10
That sentence perfectly explains why I want them to move on. For what they have paid him, he should be able to carry the team.
I totally disagree… without Cousins the Vikings wouldn’t have won 10 games the last three years with that defense. It was only because the offense, and specifically the passing offense and yes even more specifically Cousins, that they had any chance at all in any game.
Absolutely agree…which now that I think about it we may today be better off if Cousins wasn’t so damn good.
Always amazes me that “wins aren’t a QB stat”, unless Cousins is off the team.
And then you still claim you didn’t claim it.
Wins aren’t a QB stat. That’s just an invention of the media, which for some reason, people buy into. BUT, not having a good QB means you’re really in trouble when it comes to having a chance to win, because, you know, if you don’t score points, you can’t win. So our Ying (the passing offense) has been carrying our Yang (the rest of the team) for the last three years. It seems odd this dynamic is lost on some folks.
Maybe, had they not brought in Cousins they would have had an opportunity to draft somebody like Burrow and be competing for SBs. Unlikely but you’re better than such a simple hypothetical.
Burrow, or anyone else would not have brought more wins in my opinion, especially with Zimmerball being the order of the day. He built the offense around Cook and was only interested in shortening the game and protecting his defense. We’ll see how different the offense looks this year in their second year, but now the defense will start over with a new DC bringing in a new scheme. How long it take for them to be good? Usually the first year in any new system is all learning curve. I predict the only good piece of the team this year (again) will be Cousins and the passing offense.
The Bengals went from the worst team in the league to the SB in 2 years with Burrow. That is a crazy take. Cincy’s defense isn’t world beaters. Hell, their secondary was so stellar that they signed Trae Waynes to start for them.
The Bengals improved in every single measurable in going from worst to first. Their offense improved but so did everything else. In a word, they got better as a team. The passing offense for the Vikings got MUCH better when Cousins came in. Nothing else got better.
So you don’t think they would have improved any other part of the team with the added cap space and that Burrow would be an upgrade over Kirk? Other than Burrow, the Vikings have been better off at most positions that the Bengals the last few years yet the Bengals are going to conference championships and SBs in a much more competitive AFC and the Vikings are simply hoping to make the playoffs.
Ummm… you DO realize they drafted a lot of players who they expected to be good but weren’t right?
Which of these looks better? Only thing I’d say the Bengals were better at was QB and HC. Vikings didn’t make the playoffs and the Bengals went to the SB

Bengals roster is definitely better than the Vikings.
We’re gonna have to agree to disagree on that one. I don’t see a position group other than QB where the Bengals were better. The Bengals may have an all around better roster now, but they didn’t when they went to the SB.
OK… good with disagreeing. Maybe we can agree on this though. The Bengals went 10-7 in the regular season. Good not great record. They beat the Raiders in the WC game 26-19, and then beat the Titans 19-16 in the next playoff game. They played the game of their season to beat the Chiefs in the Conference finals 27-24 in overtime, then lost to the Rams in the Super Bowl 23-20. I don’t see a great offensive output in any of those games, but the defense did hold the opposition 24 or less points in every single game.
Yeah, the defense did their job when needed. I’ve never said Cousins is bad, but given the chance I would take Burrow in a heartbeat. My main point was you can’t say if Kirk never came to MN they never would have won 10 games because it could have put them in line for a top tier rookie. They could have went 2-15 also, unknown hypotheticals. Kirk is what he is and if they keep him around, fine, but he is close enough to the end of his career the Vikings should be looking at options for life after Kirk. Worst case he plays as long as you think and you either trade him or the young guy in a couple years.
They aren’t keeping him. He is gone after this season.
Then they should have tried to have a succession plan in place this year and BYU boy ain’t it.
True
Correct.
Cousins isn’t changing his excellent robotic stats to a guy who makes things happens when SHTF.
He led more come from behind scoring drives to win games than any other QB in the league last year and the biggest come from behind victory in NFL history. Facts do not support your position.
LOL Game winning drives…
The one game that mattered.
3 & out
4th & 8.
“it’s the defense, OL, playcaller, kickers fault…..”
Wins aren’t a QB stat, so just stop using this for Cousins.
Ummm I pointed out reality in specific games. You said he can’t make things happen when SHTF. Clearly he can though based on his individual performance when needed to come from behind and win. If the defense had been better we wouldn’t have needed his late game heroics, but when they were required, he executed. That’s my point pure and simple.
In support of DE’s point, it IS much easier to make things happen against a team like the ’22 Colts than it is to make things happen against a playoff caliber team.
In support of your point, he would likely be able to make enough things happen against playoff caliber teams if our defense didn’t create such a high number of things that needed to happen.
Well if he doesn´t have those game winning drives the Vikes never get to “the one game that mattered”. Right?
True.
I think wins are a product of the QB.
Kirk improved a lot on 4th quarter comebacks over the last year and a half.
But Kirk going 3 & out, and short on 4th and 8 are on Kirk. He had not one, but two chances for the 4th quarter comeback and he failed.
When it mattered the most.
Ya’ll good a triggered up this morning? Trying my hardest…..
Only emotionally charged leftists get triggered. Conservatives, not so much.
Unfortunately there’s enough in our camp that we lost the high ground for this argument.
lol…boy you are full on full of shit today fella.
Laughing… yeah right… take a look in the mirror.
You’re doing pretty well this morning.
We need a White House/Hunter Biden version:
Imagine it’s 2.5 yrs later and you still can’t accept you lost.
Uh, her being a total moron has nothing to do with anything other than she is a total moron and unqualified for government office, especially one as high as the VP.
Yeah, this is not at all about “winning and losing”. To say that is shallow to the extreme. It’s about the whole country being led by this moronic person and a senile, corrupt, lying President.
Says the loser lol….
Again shallow and really ridiculous in the extreme. That you think this and focus on it, is sad. The country is being wrecked by these jerk off’s and you’re harping on “winning and losing”. Time for you wake up son.
That’s as deep as a liberal brain can think or they wouldn’t be liberals.
How’d covid work out for you wingers? Lot more of you dumb sob’s died than us. Which is a good thing.
Nope, and covid came from Czar Fauci and the other socialists in China and the source has been corruptly covered up to hide Fauci and the other dems ties to the Wuhan lab.
Heard Fauci mixed it up himself and his 40 yrs and NIH was all a front to get to that Wuhan lab to
This is correct. The President aggressively acted based on Fauci’s input. He sent Navy medical ships to New York and championed efforts to control the virus based on the shit information he was provided. He did realize this though, and began telling people that we needed to normalize our lives and get back to living. Of course the left and the media crucified him for this, even though in the end he was 100% right across the board.
LOL…wow the level of delusion and shit spinning here is impressive. His “Played it Down” cost hundreds of thousands of lives. He did it for one and one reason only, his poll numbers and winning reelection. Only after his staff yelled at him to even acknowledge what was happening did he face what was happening and then it was to late.
He was -100% wrong at every step and he and any of his supporters who propagated his lies should be in prison for life..
How about the people that funded the creation of the virus and then hid and lied about the origin?
Ummm nothing the President did, or didn’t do cost hundreds of thousands of lives. That’s just total BS.
That reminds me a letter to the editor from one of the local liberals made me chuckle, I can’t remember what her precise point was but it was something about COVID and being godless and she cited that 840 million people died of COVID, many in godless countries. Umm OK I wonder where she grabbed that stat from?
We are all losers with this Resident and VP.
imagine it’s 2.5 years later and you think a walking zombie and this broad garnered the most votes in the history of presidential elections…..
Or 6.5 years in the case of Hilary
She lost, admitted it and had her staffer concede. Won the popular vote unlike the crying tangerine.
She is still going on tv saying she didn’t lose.
The popular vote she didn’t. The electoral college she did and admits it. He won with a foreign enemies disinformation campaign and his campaign manager meeting with foreign assets.
The Russia hoax was perpetrated and paid for by Clinton. The only person who got any information from a Russian spy was Clinton. Popular vote means nothing. This is America.
Wow the farts in your bubble must really be rank today.
??? This is all proven and indisputable by the special counsel the democrats demanded. Trump did not collude with Russia. The DOJ illegally investigated Trump based on information received in part from the Clinton campaign that they both knew was lies. And now we have a crack head and his dad who are compromised by China in the White House.
Yep
Oh for God’s sake Lifer… you’re still pushing that narrative all these years later, and you say we’re mad about losing? No, it’s the overly emotional left who are always crying, whining, angry, upset, scared, etc about everything then they project that on others. This irritates normal people and they are getting very sick of it.
Um…Hilary and the dems STILL say the 2016 election was stolen.
She lost, went into a bedroom and cried all night, and left it to her campaign manager to address her supporters. THIS is the person who wanted to be, and indeed demanded to be, the President of the United States. A person so weak she couldn’t stand up and take defeat graciously and address her own supporters. Yeah, we really needed that in the White House.
Instead we got a serial narcist who lied, grifted and broke more laws and norms than any president in history.
Pretty rich you call out Hillary for not being able to handle a loss….at least she didn’t try to burn down our nations capital.
This is true. But unfortunately, and this is a very very sad thing to say, I’d take her over Joe.
Neither are great I’ll admit that. I hated Hillary, wanted Bernie so the moderate left and right could completely freak the fuck out.
“Neither are great” that’s kind. Both are about one step above pond scum, and Trump ain’t to far ahead of them. But if ethics is an issue, we’d have to clean out all of Washington.
Sounds like a good plan to me.
You mean “drain the swamp?”
She conceded, but she continued and still continues to push the Russian hoax theory. Tangerine turd acted like a 2 year old who had their binky taken away.
The Bud Light of VP’s. Cackles, otherwise known as word salad.
I honestly feel like this is a failure and travesty to the public. Cocaine is discovered in the White House, and it’s not a concern or even addressed by the President? He has made no comment? Has not said “we’ll get to the bottom of this?” No outrage on his part that this happened on “his watch?” He lets a deputy press secretary come out and highlight the Hatch Act? That has no bearing on this at all.
Now that said, Trump probably snuck into the White House using his old keys and planted the cocaine.
can you imagine the absolute feast the media would have if trump was president and cocaine was found in the white house?
it would be like blood in the water with lifer around (get it lifer? because you are jaws….)
The fact that they won’t deny that it is Hunter’s says something. The story of where it was found keeps changing too trying to make it sound like it could be anybody’s, but the last I heard it was in a location that it basically has to be a family member. If only there was a known crackhead that could be looked into. It might put a bit of a hamper on his pending cases though. Gotta hide it until they can coerce the judge to accept the plea agreement and then they’ll secretly send him to rehab or just hide him at one of the mansions purchased on Biden’s “senate salary.”
They could always send him back to South America to lick psychedelic toads to get over his cocaine addiction.
They’re afraid to admit it was his because he might snap like he did on the Chinese guy that wouldn’t pay up and admit to everything he and his dad have done. The delay in admitting the coke is Hunter’s is to get him locked away in a secret location first where he can’t spill the beans.
It has to be a family member. I’ve been to the White House (as a tourist) and everyone not a family member gets screened up the wazoo. You would have to be insane to think to yourself gee I hope I can get this cocaine white powdery substance past the screening and watchful eyes of the Secret Service. Ergo it follows that the only people not screened are the family members and the Secret Service themselves, and I guarantee the latter ain’t bringing in a couple of lines of coke.
Yeah. I think Bongino talked about that yesterday as well. There’s no way it was some random tourist or other visitor. That will be the story but it will be a lie as per usual with the Bidens.
That whole main floor is just crawling with Secret Service and there are cameras everywhere during tourist visitation days. I can’t remember the precise wording of the whole invitation as pertains to bringing in contraband but I’m pretty sure it wouldn’t just be a excuse me sir but drugs aren’t allowed in here, more of a hey let’s do a Chinese fire drill on this guy’s ass while we give him a gonch pull to his shoulder blades and frog march him into the basement for some enhanced interrogation techniques.
hey let’s do a Chinese fire drill on this guy’s ass while we give him a gonch pull to his shoulder blades and frog march him into the basement for some enhanced interrogation techniques.

so i have a dilemma and would appreciate some advice.
went to a 4th of july party, at least 3 different families that were there, are now sick with either fevers or throwing up. seems like some sort of virus.
last night, my youngest was up all night throwing up.
we leave for Montana tomorrow. debating postponing trip just to ensure no one else gets sick for the grandparents (not really the type that are totally fine with sick kids and would encourage us to go and not worry)
or cancel kalispell/glacier portion of trip, and hang around the grandparents a day or two to make sure kids are ok and go to bozeman for 2 days (2nd half of our trip we were going to go from kalispell to bozeman, so part of our trip would still happen)
hard to know what to do when multiple full day drives are a part of the equation.
Today is the 7th of July. If your kids contracted a virus at the 4th of July event, they’ll likely be sick and contagious another 48 to 72 hours.
i would be less worried if multiple families haven’t gotten sick. but the fact that it seems to have hit them yesterday, like my youngest, worries me.
That’s a tough one. I would play it by ear and see if kiddo gets better today. Hopefully it’s a quick virus. My kids will get sick like that, but a morning of rest and sleep and they’ll be full speed by afternoon. I’ve been stuck in the vehicle with a puking kid though too and that is not fun. If the grandparents don’t want to watch some sick kids, see if you can find a medical professional with a compound that will allow them to run around outside maybe?
unfortunately montana is too conservative a state to have such compounds.
i’m sure i could find a few covid camps still happening in minnesota or chicago, but not montana
I’m pretty sure he meant Asswipe B
ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
GENIUS
hey MT viking, wanna take my kids for a few days?!?!?
Nope
I wouldn’t take any chances with kids potentially throwing up during a long car ride, err on the side of caution, especially if you don’t want to get the grandparents sick. You should definitely get out there for some of those sloppy joes with green peppers in them though.
Risky freeze. I’d err on the side of caution.
TLDR
My advice – NEVER eat the potato salad.
Solid advice.
Damn Freezey leaving the burgers bloody in the middle and setting the salads out in the hot sun for a few hours.
an early synopsis of the mornings comment outcomes thus far….
Lifer to Mick: “I eat pieces of shit like you for breakfast…”
Mick: “You eat shit for breakfast?”
He’s practicing for life in his socialist dystopia when all the food is gone and the world is burning.
Thanks to wingers that’s how it will be.
And thanks to the leftist’s you won’t have a gun to protect yourself from the rampant crime and social destruction.
Yes…the leftists are responsible for our societal fabric unraveling with all the inclusion and desire to help the underprivileged. terrible those leftists.
Absolutely true… ruining our moral social fabric and forcing things down our throat we disagree with which creates immense discord. You’re right. I agree with you.
I just feed you want you want to hear and believe. Easier than trying to educate you with facts. Your ideology is baked in, as is mine.
I have no ideology Lifer. I only believe in Liberty and Justice for all. Not just fringe groups of society. Also, I am against any form of Government hell bent on taking rights and freedoms away in the name of some “just” cause.
Mick making chicken salad out of chicken shit today.
We could argue about golf instead of Kirk…
Surly you jest…
I can’t even read the text on this, whoever made this has terrible skills
interesting to me that lifer identifies with the “bad guy” who terrorizes and feeds off of fear………
And provides nothing of value and merely takes from others.
and in the end, gets blown up
1…It’s a fish not a “guy” or “terrorist'” but not surprised you guys struggle with species identification. 2. It won with the over confident winger 3. not recognizing the contributions in the biological eco chain of species is winger chapter 101 because, you’re idiots.
this you?
Yeah, not surprising he identifies with the terrorist
ok boomer
Pffff….I’m so sick of graphs and guys wanting to act like there’s something to glean from that abstract jumble of lines.
If you need someone to read it to you, you could just ask nicely.
I don’t because I watched every game over the past five years that’s the point.
There is something we can learn from the abstract jumble of lines. We can learn that some people have too much time on their hands.
It was a good read.
Agree, especially since it supports a more simple analysis I did earlier that came to the same conclusion…
There is no support that you have to suck to get better.
Yep. I used my fire pit 4 times last fall and there were no hurricanes in Alaska.
Laughing… think I’m gonna keep this one JR.
lol!
This is so effing wrong.
The Minnesota fan base loves being around .500, compete for a playoff spot, and lose in round 1. In fact, they want to keep paying guaranteed money to a QB who guarantees mediocrity year in and year out.
Well, except he’s the most productive QB over 5 seasons in Vikings history, and only three QB’s in the league have thrown more TD’s than him over those 5 seasons. You know, like he’s really a great QB…
Yet the team, any team, still finishes around .500 over that five year span, and his entire career. Even with this dominant QB performance.
Dude can’t win when it counts. You know it. I know it. We all know it.
It’s who he is. A robotic stat machine. Nothing more. Nothing less.
Stupid child state memes as an argument aside, your position is a really great QB is the reason the team is not winning. This is really narrow minded in my perspective. Cousins has played great for his five seasons with the Vikings.
I will say this, KAM isn’t going to re-sign Cousins. He actually can’t. He’s in the hole for $28.5M already next year. First rule of holes… when you’re in one, stop digging. The Vikings will have someone else under center next year.
He’ll resign with the Vikings.
They may or may not re-sign Cousins but, if they don’t re-sign him, it won’t be because of the $28.5M. That can be addressed if/when they do an extension. It’s only guaranteed to be a $28.5M “hole” in 2024 if they don’t re-sign him and they get charged for paying a QB that is no longer on the team.
Yet if he was the QB of the 49ers last year they easily could have won the SB and would be one of the favorites this year.
“Around .500” – Curious – how far away from true .500 does he have to get before you stop saying that?
Because he’s darn close to .600 with the Vikings.
He suxs
-GM’s
Undersized for the NFL, and needs to learn the LB position, but at least he’s a normal rookie age and not 25 with no clue how to play like Surratt was, I hope Pace develops.
lol
Likely won’t make the team or PS only.
This would be quite the pickup if the situation was right. From what I can see… the acquiring team would be responsible for the rest of ‘23 which is abojt half of 13.5m and ‘24 is 10m base with a option that guarantees on the 5th day of the league year
Maybe KAM could call Zim and get his take before he makes this deal.
“I’d resign Barr if it was me”
-Zim
Old, washed up players on other teams are good. Old, washed up players on our team should have been gone years ago.
For a one year rental? I don’t know how old and washed up he is.
And for 6-7m I’d pay Donald than 14m for Cook or 19m for AT.
If this is a true story, take him in a heartbeat! That would put a true stud in our front seven!
Gotta wait til the trade deadline…
whats he worth?
What’s he worth – well? Watched a training video of him recently. He was benching over 500 pounds, several times, and squatting over a 1000. There’s a reason he wold throw around both our center and a guard at the same time.
I’d pay him what it takes to get ONE stud on our defense. There is no BS with this guy, he brings it and brings it every play!
I meant pick wise in a trade.
You had indicated we could have a top 5 offense and the defense maybe 15 to 20. Add Donald and we could easily get to 12 – he’s a force.
5 and 12, we can go places with that.
I’d go big, how about you?
I would take him if we thought we really had a shot a making it past the divisional round. He would be a massive boost for the defense and if we were in a nip and tuck playoff game I still believe he could close out stops like he did in their SB win.
Biggest issue is his contract this year and he’d probably want a couple year deal to sweeten the pot for a trade.
What’s wrong with his contract? And what does it have to do with the Vikings?
LOL…
Gaining momentum????
So it’s just a repost of a story from a month ago?
This was a moment..that game was unbelievable. How it did not instantly make every Vikings fan a Kirk Cousins fan is a testament to the biased triggered BS humans will go through to keep an unwarranted opinion of a player. Cousins went 30 for 50, 357, 1 td, 2 ints, 60 pct. Battled in harsh elements, overcame a little adversity and got the W in a game likely any other QB in Vikings history loses. Yet Kirk is not a good QB. Fraud haters all of you.
uhhh ok.
Chicken boi at a loss for words.
My favorite was when Kirk knocked the ball out of Allen’s hands from
the sidelines AND recovered it.
That play was the never-say-die attitude we’ve come to expect from him personified.
He sipped the Gatorade and it was over for Buffalo.
Your face right now making a weak self created slight.
Yeah and my favorite was how Kirk gave up all those receptions against the Giants in that playoff loss. Cluck Cluck MF’er.
Why do you stupid libs always lie to make a point?
Kirk is good. Can have great stretches.
But winning in the playoffs is what matters to the “haters”
But what we get is 3 & out AND 4th and 8 when it matters most.
FYI…wins aren’t a QB stat. remember?
Lie??? There’s no lies there except the ones you’re manufacturing now to try and make a point. Fail. Kirk had us in that Giants game, KOC admitted he put Cousins in a bad position on that 4th & 8. Nobody said Kirk was perfect he wasn’t and the team wins and loses together. It’s the haters that want to put every “L” on Cousins so take that chicken shit argument and make chicken salad and have it for lunch boi.
This is the lie by you.
99% of the “haters” say Kirk is a good QB. As I stated.
You re correct – Kirk is good not great and is streaky. But you ain’t beating anybody in the playoffs, no matter who is the QB, with a 31st rank defense.
And this is neither hate nor love.
Finally…someone who recognizes what complimentary football is like in reverse, like as a QB when your defense sucks ass.
Fair statement. Not always his fault. I agree.
I still expect more when the shit hits the fan. Especially for the % of the cap he makes.
2018 vs Buffalo
2018 vs Chicago
Kirk was terrible. Paid for both games. Show me all the highlights you want. I spent hard earned real money to see a guy play worse than Ponder.
I will attend another game once he is no longer the QB
This is not about you, what games YOU paid to see. That’s the thing with Kirk haters…they personalize it about them…”Oh god I had to watch a qb have a bad game now I hate him forever”
Kirk is nowhere near the same QB he was then, he’s improved in every facet of his game and has this offense one of the top 5 or 6 in the league.
@It’s always about me@
Sorry, but 4th and 8 matters. His career prime time and playoff records matter. He tends to fold when the play goes off script.
He is a very good QB. Top 15, maybe even top 10 of the current starting QBs.
Unless he wins a superbowl, he will be known as the QB that wets the bed when it matters.
PREACH!!!!
PEACH!!!!
then maybe you should have paid to go to last year’s colts game, or the packers game, or the patriots game, or the detroit games, or ………..
True, but I am boycotting spending any money on this team until there is a QB change or a Lombardi trophy.
Works for me… Spock says “logical”.
Works for me, and the Wilfs do not care about one less person since the games all sell out.
I never want to pay to watch a team play and have the team, and especially the highest paid player on that team, mail it in or look so bad.
At home, I can turn off the TV and do something else with my time.
You’re talking to a guy who watched a lot of Orioles games live…
I do the same with the Twins. I know the team is useless in the playoffs. I am there to have a daytime beer while sitting outside with a ballgame to distract me.
Looks like Bally Sports is toast. Not paying for a subscription.
Well, not all of us…
I’ve always maintained Kirk is a good QB. He didn’t play his best that game but made plays in key moments late, and unlike the playoffs, just said fuck it, and chucked it into double coverage to JJ on 4th down.
but when he chucked it to JJ in that game, he realized it was a must win game….
vs the playoff game, which wasn’t.
Yeah, IDK Freezey, if I’m in that position I do the same thing both times.
i’m obviously being sarcastic. he was an idiot the 2nd time.
i would throw up a prayer and hope JJ does his job
He had zero chance going to JJ on that play though. None, zip, nada… he got the ball out to the only option he had that had a chance… very little chance, but A chance.
i will stand behind this: reallllyyyyy bad play calling that entire “drive”
Difference is in the facts here Ben. As they were breaking the huddle in the Buffalo game, Cousins told JJ we was probably coming to him, even if he was doubled, so JJ was looking for the ball. In the playoff game, JJ was bracketed and had a safety over the top and he never looked back for the ball the whole route. Cousins was forced to get the ball out to his only option as he was getting hit.
357, 1 td, 2 ints, 60 pct and then posts a play of the Bills fucking up what shoulda be their W. Not a good sales pitch there dumb dumb. Show the play of him throwing directly to a Bills CB lmao. If those stats get you excited then you need to look up what actual TOP QBs do against good defenses. It usually involves more than 1 TD.
Burrow only went 23 of 36 (64%), 2 TDs and 0 ints in the playoffs against the same Bills in a 27-10 victory.
But NLNVF thinks Cousins is better than Burrow and we wouldnt be better off with Burrow. Fucking wild the mental gymnastics the Kirk Gobblers do
Never said that… did I? Stop lying.
Not a lie. You dance around the question presented to you and give excuses. Im just on to your Kirk bs. Not lying.
“Burrow, or anyone else would not have brought more wins in my opinion, especially with Zimmerball being the order of the day. He built the offense around Cook and was only interested in shortening the game and protecting his defense.”
Or did I misread where you said Burrow wouldnt have brought more wins lol. Unreal. Burrow would have gotten more wins in 18 and 19 and we would have actually had a chance against the 49ers in 19
That is exactly what I said. You interpreted that (incorrectly) to mean “Cousins is better than Burrow”.
So you stated something that was in fact incorrect and of course, personally aimed at me. You lied and that’s that. Stop lying.
