Vikings/NFL News and Updates:

Looks like the team could get Cashman back tomorrow. Other than having a new holder and kicker for tomorrow, the team is relatively healthy. Vikings are a TD favorite. @What could go wrong?@

I saw someone ask about the schedule, with 3 road games in a row. Let’s just say that when a team has 3 road games in a row, that third game is one where you normally bet it all on the home team to cover. It’s even worse than Kirko in prime time for stats.

Thread Guidelines

  • Keep politics out. We are adults, news happens, and we can talk about it. What we don’t want is to go down the rabbit holes and turn a productive conversation into name calling and personal attacks.
  • Be cool to one another. Like it says above, just be civil. You don’t need to agree with everyone and that’s fine, you also don’t need to make it personal. Attack the argument not the poster.
  • Keep the NSFW to a minimum. We don’t need anyone getting in trouble at work for hanging out here.
  • All in all, be adults. Treat each other with respect and things will be fine. Mods will take out content they feel is pushing the boundary. If you want to reach out about something feel free to ask. We want to have robust discussions, that’s why we’re here, just be civil.

Great Trolling,
After raking in over $1B in donations the Cackles Campaign is broke and can’t pay all of it’s bills.
So DT steps up and offers to pay those bills because they have ‘lots of money left’ after raising about 1/3rd as much.

Game day. I think we’re in good shape. We’ll be facing Mac Jobes, as Trevor Lawrence has an A/C sprain. Flores should be able to handle that. KOC can handle their defense, so I think this will be a comfortable win.

A day after Trump won the election in a sweeping victory, NY Gov Kathy Hochul, along with New York Attorney General Letitia James, promised to fight back against any potential “revenge or retribution” now that the incoming 47th President is back in the White House.

However, Trump lawyer Mike Davis offered a grim warning before they violate “Trump’s constitutional rights or any other Americans Constitutional rights.” (and in doing so referred to James as a fatass).

After that, it took no time for Hochul to straighten up. She called Trump to have a “very cordial” talk and tell him she would work with him on issues facing her state.

“It was a very cordial call, and listen, I said I’ll work with anybody,” the Democrat governor said. “I basically just reaffirmed there are areas we can work together, like infrastructure, where we rely on federal money, and he seems to share my priorities.”

Money talks…

A lazy Saturday afternoon thought.
I always thought Trump was a good business man, smart and a fair amount of common sense, Never thought of him really one way or the other as a politician.
But was thinking. we have like one other time in our history where a defeated president then came back to win a second term. And then this was after 6 Jan, Impeachment proceedings, a Jan 6 commission that trashed him, and four or so federal and state civil and criminal court cases, And being convicted as a felon once. Then had to win an intense primary campaign.
Despite all that, he won a convincing victory.
Believes he’s become one hell of a politician.

Or not… maybe the Nation is sick and tired of politicians ruling them, and pushing a woke agenda. Maybe they want a businessman to fix the economy, who represents their core beliefs. You know, like he did the last time?

Perhaps. He is certainly a great business man, but I think he has also become a great politician.
Four years ago if Larry Hogan had trashed him like he has, Trump would have stomped him. This year he welcomes him to be an other republican senator (lost anyway).
I’m not sure anyone in our history could have endured and manuvered his way back to WH as well as Trump has. You have to be a lot more than a business guy to accomplish that.

Ursula von der Leyen, the president of the European Commission, told reporters on Friday that the European Union (EU) is now considering replacing Russian liquified natural gas (LNG) imports for American LNG imports, following Donald Trump’s 2024 presidential win.

In March of 2022, Biden signed an Executive Order (E.O.) to ban the import of Russian oil, liquefied natural gas, and coal to the United States. This was seen as a significant action to deprive Putin of the economic resources he needed to continue his war on Ukraine.

Biden also wanted the European Union to join him in his ban. Europe simply could not honor these restrictions though, because they had nowhere else to go. Thus Bidens efforts to impact Russia economically were a miserable failure.

Now, Trump is about to put real teeth into these policies, and actually cripple Russia’s oil and gas industry, dramatically affecting their economy. He’s going drill, drill, drill, and crush Russia.

The man knows what he’s doing.

Well they’ve pretty much finished the job of wrecking German economy on the pretext of their “green transformation” und unlimited import of illegals, so it’s time to replace them with a “conservative” government, most likely.

Goes without saying that that “conservative” government will play by the same playbook. Hint: that playbook is not written on European soil.

HUNViking

That could be a problem, we’d very much like to heat our homes over here during winter. In other words, we are dependent on Russian gas. Importing American LNG to Europe via cargo ships is a disaster financially even if the EU and especially the German government is pushing for it because Washington told them so. But it surely is nice for the American economy, while we over here are trying to somehow pay the ever increasing heating bills.

The only one that is really hurt by these sanctions is the European population, not Russia’s economy. They just sell their natural gas to other parts of the world, India for example, from where the EU is importing it to exorbitant prices. I’m afraid those sanctions are as much designed to hurt Europe as they are designed to hurt Russia, because they sure as hell don’t do shit to limit Putin’s economy or his ability to wage war in that shithole called Ukraine. Just my 2 cents concerning this problem.

Russian gas via pipeline is much cheaper than American LNG. Plus we don’t even have the infrastructure here to receive as much American LNG as would be needed to replace Russian gas. Would take years to build the necessary infrastructure. Those sanctions are a joke, honestly. Virtue signaling, mostly, and the European population is paying the price for them.

Problem is, those conservatives are mostly conservative in name only, like the RINOs. Not expecting much positive change from them on the EU level. The EU itself is a moloch that’s 100% dedicated to a “green new deal” and committed to change Europe into a China style dictatorship with social credit system etc etc, a few conservative victories here and there won’t and can’t change that institution.

Those parties that really could do good things for the people are kept out of positions of real power, like the Freedom Party in Austria. “Far right” and “Nazi” is what they label them (same playbook as with Trump), and despite winning the election in September they’re not allowed to govern. Not seeing much hope for change to the better over here, not even with Trump winning. He has a few political partners over here, like Orbán in Hungary, but that’s it. Most of the European political establishment is as commie as it gets, even if they call themselves “conservative”.

Yeah, sad state of affairs there, and of course this is exactly where the Dem’s want the U.S. to go. Thank God we voted them down.

It has always been good practice in Austria that, after an election, the party that managed to get the most votes is authorized by the federal president to try and build a coalition government. The Freedom Party – FPÖ – managed to do just that and win the election. Now, all other parties, even the other “conservative” party (ÖVP, who had ruled the last few years in coalition with the “Green” communists) declared they are not willing to cooperate, or even negotiate with the Freedom Party under their current leader because they are “Nazis” and “far right”.

So the current federal president, a card carrying marxist and freemason, member of the “Green” party who was installed in 2016 via an election coup not unlike the one in the US in 2020, decided to authorize the ÖVP, who came in 2nd place at the most recent election to build a coalition government.

Freedom Party is the only anti-globalist party in Austria. EU and the political establishment hate them. So it didn’t matter that they got the most votes and won the election, they were outmanoeuvred by the political establishment and the system.

So they ‘won’ but don’t have a majority?

Makes it tricky when they lock you out like that.

Exactly, system in most countries over here is designed to have more than 2 parties, so it’s actually very unlikely that one single party can get an actual majority.

Democrats are reportedly discussing whether to call on Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor to immediately resign in an effort to avoid her replacement potentially being made under President-elect Donald Trump.

This comes after Democrats lost their Senate majority to Republicans in the elections, which according to one Democrat Senator, caused discussion over whether to initiate an immediate replacement of Sotomayor, 70, during their remaining two months in control of their chamber.

The concerns have continued to grow after the possibility of Trump appointing someone to fill her seat, should it becomes vacant during his presidency, are becoming more of a reality.

However, with the former president set to take office in January, any supporters of a quick turnaround replacement have a short window to act.

“She can sort of resign conditionally on someone being appointed to replace her,” a Democrat senator told Politico Playbook. “But she can’t resign, conditioned on a specific person. What happens if she resigns and the nominee to replace her isn’t confirmed, and the next president fills the vacancy?”

The Democrat also said that there are two concerns about the idea. Confirming a new justice under Congress’ already packed schedule and whether any members would be willing to go on the record against Sotomayor.

The Supreme Court was a huge reason Trump was elected. Liberals want control of the Court to legislate from the bench in their favor, and undermine the Constitution based on politics. People are seeing this as a real threat to Democracy.

Managers at FEMA told staff to ignore helping people on hurricane relief efforts with homes that had Trump signs.
Shocked. Not shocked.

The government employees told The Daily Wire that at least 20 homes with Trump signs or flags were skipped from the end of October and into November due to the guidance, meaning they were not given the opportunity to qualify for FEMA assistance. Images shared with The Daily Wire show that houses were skipped over by the workers, who wrote in the government system messages such as: “Trump sign no entry per leadership.”

It is unclear whether the same guidance was issued elsewhere in the country. The employees were part of a Department of Homeland Security surge capacity force team, meaning they volunteered from other DHS agencies to help an understaffed FEMA as it dealt with a second major hurricane in a span of just a few weeks.

Just means that they moved her.

One of the points Ramaswamy brought up was it was almost impossible to fire a government employee.
That is why he is advocating for ‘realignment’ since that does not come with individual protections.

Having been in a position of hiring and firing Government officials, I can attest to the fact that getting rid of a Government employee, no matter how bad they are, is hard. That said, if someone does something unlawful, like withholding Government assistance for political reasons, they can and should be prosecuted.

They said that FEMA will have to testify to Congress on this in a couple of weeks.
I expect the same ducking and dodging that the Secret Service has done since the first assassination attempt. No one has been fired for that either.
