The fam and I are on our way to the Wisconsin Dells today, and will be attending a couple days of training camp on our way home. Hopefully I can get some good clips to share at training camp, we’ll provide as much information as we can while we’re out there. I’m looking forward to seeing Addison and some of the other guys who have been making waves in camp.
As far as the Skoloholics site goes, we realize that it’s been languishing a bit. We haven’t drawn enough new users, and it’s something we need to do. We’ve discussed some of the issues, and one thing we realized is that we need to moderate a little better. A vast majority of discussions are fine, but some discussions do devolve to the point where the conversation drives many people away, and we can’t continue to have that. We don’t want to create a bunch of rules, so we’re just going to begin to moderate and remove conversations that cross the line. We’re all adults, I trust that we can behave that way. Our vision is that the comment threads will be similar to those of the old days at the DN, prior to the collie molesters from SB Nation taking over. We just want to clean the site up a bit so that we can take it to the next level. Moderation is part of that goal. Thanks everyone!

The Vikings are to honor legendary coach Bud Grant throughout the 2023 season, according to TwinCities.com.
The team will have patches on their jerseys in week one in honor of Bud Grant, according to Vikings.com.
From ESPN, Mark Wilf says the Vikings focus is 100% on the 2023 season and NOT on a Kirk Cousins contract. Also, the team released their first unofficial depth chart of the 2023 season.

So JR I think I have found my putter. The Taylormade Spider I bought like 10 yrs ago. I rebuilt the weights from 2.5 grams on each side on the back to 15 grams ea on each side. It was so feather light before now it is absolutely perfect. I also put a super stroke 2.0 pistol grip with a 25 gram counter weight under the grip to reduce putter face rotation.
Tested it out at the range today for about 30 mins and it immediately felt good the minute I looked down at it. Back an through it feels perfect and really reduces the fear factor of not striking the ball squarely. Instantly I felt comfortable and practicing with it my accuracy and feel was immediately better. From 10’ in putts feel much easier. I made more that a few long lag putt but more importantly was able to ease the ball up by the hole routinely for easy two putts. Can’t wait to try it. Going to play a round tomorrow morning.

Seems Addison is starting to get accolades from teammates now that he’s learning the playbook, making plays and getting more comfortable.

Well last nights practice was a dud per the beat writers there…no pads and guys just going through the motions. Outside of the N.K. Harry catch it was rather boring. Did hear that Davenport has really looked good as was stated below but our oline is not all that so….
I did read that post yes. Davenport being average to slightly above average and staying healthy would go a long way to making our D line okay, which helps our sketch secondary. Im hoping for a 49ers like defense build. They had a few big names, but other than that their secondary was made up of lower level rookies and UFDAs that they unlocked and turned into above average starters. Thats what we are going to need
Year before last, they lost three of their four starters and still played stout defense because of upfront pressure.
Yup! They had a great coach as well, so, hopefully we are on that same path. I expect improvement, but I would be shocked if our defense finished the season better than 20th. That would be amazing growth.
In the end and certainly against the better defenses, our guards are going to be an issue.
Yup….biggest weakness on the team. Now Ingram I’m holding hope out that year two he works his way to league average but Steamer I’m done with…he sucks.

The only part of the offense that was above average was the passing game, behind one of the worst pass blocking lines in the league. That really doesn’t make sense, but that’s the fact of the situation.
The tackles are both well above average, it’s the interior that sucks pass blocking, also perplexing is the oline overall graded well above average in run blocking, yet the tab efficiency metrics sucked.

My wife worked for a company that sold offsets (of course she did stupid lib).
I know the entire industry inside out although its likely changed some in the last 10 yrs I’ve been away from it. They did some really cool offset projects. Like like cow manure sequestration floors that take the manure down and through a system and turn the manure in to either bio fuel to run equipment or fertilizer. Then there was a large brick plant that converted the heat in to steam power generation for electricity that was a big one. Some really cool projects. Then the offsets in CO2 those products create you can sell to yes companies trying to offset their emissions. The money they pay pays for the projects to be built which in turn reduces CO2 that would otherwise be produced.
That sounds like some cool and worthwhile projects. I am not a pro Green agenda guy but I recycle and am anti-waste.
yes those are common sense projects to take wasted energy and convert in to usable energy. Millions of opportunities for such things.

Thats a good sign. I didn’t sign up for youtubetv, which you get the preseason games with that. I already have spectrum for cable so that would be redundant and an extra $70 a month. I went with youtube NFL with redzone but you don’t get preseason games with that and no monthly fee.

I skipped out of the draft chat yesterday. Did you draw your goat tag MT? They’ve got to be fairly high draw odds over there. Or do you get a landowner tag with all the land around the compound?
I was unsuccessful in the draw. Sigh. Then one of my buddies who drew a tag said oh I sincerely hope you didn’t actually apply (as I didn’t fill my tag two years ago so now I am labeled an antihunter). Much dickery towards each other ensued and when I got home my wife said wow you and S really went at it and I said yeah he’s crazy and she said well I think he’s right you’re acting like your father.
Had to go for a walk around the compound after that.
Bummer. I usually just get the archery only tag. I think this is the first year I applied for a rifle antelope tag. For sure in Montana and maybe ever. I put my wife in to but she didn’t draw. I was hoping she’d get it as I think she would enjoy shooting an antelope more than me. I’ve never gotten that excited about them, especially after some previous career experiences. They all look the same and hunting them with a rifle isn’t that exciting to me.

Nice. I don’t have a particular one I’m looking at yet but I know a couple I would not buy. Rock River Arms was surprisingly trash when I shot one a few years ago. I think the Sig was pretty nice. The DPMS was actually pretty good. Got to shoot an LMT and a couple others I don’t remember. These were all AR10s and I don’t think the results in that shooting are indicative of the AR15s. The Rock River Arms was actually a big surprise as their 15s are rock solid. If I decide to spend the money I’ll probably just end up getting the first decent one I can actually get my hands on before they are outlawed. Gonna suck if it falls in the Yellowstone shortly after I purchase it.
Looks like the Sig above is about $1800 now. That’s about $300 more than 5 yrs ago but you can still get them. I need to build “shits gone sideways” emergency bag, clips, ammo, two way radio and other shit. I need to find a good list of what one should have in it.
Quick off the top of my head list:
Mountain House meals, water filter, first aid kit, water purification tablets, p-cord, knives, hatchet, flares, water proof matches, fire striker, fire starters (easy to make with Vaseline, cotton balls and egg cartons, don’t use knock off brand petroleum jelly), tent, emergency blankets, sleeping bag if you want extra comfort. Probably a couple things I’m missing, but pretty much if I just grab my hunting pack, guns and ammo, I’d be good for quite awhile.
Need a couple good b-proof vests also.
Probably a good plan. If things have went that sideways, I’ll be in the mountains. In reality, Montana would weed out a few “bad apples” (you know what I mean), close the borders down and be a bastion of peace and freedom.

If the Vikings cut Reagor, is there offset language in his contract to recoup some of the cap hit of the guaranteed rookie contract? I doubt anybody would trade for him, but somebody will give him a look.
I believe you only get the offset on a signing bonus.
So if Reagor is cut, it’s all dead cap, since he was fully guaranteed.
The offset should be a negation of future guaranteed salary. If he is due 1 million this year and somebody signs him for 500k then the Vikings would gain 500k in salary cap and only pay him the remaining 500k. That sort of offset was what held up one of the Bosa’s coming out of college. Basically the player is getting nothing extra other than the opportunity to keep playing.

I think thats fair all things considered. You were negligent and killed someone dude, and nothing can change that or bring them back or take the pain away from their family. That being said, he deserves the chance to change, grow, learn from his mistake and maybe some day, get forgiveness as well. Thats the only way we as society can move forward.

My heart says CMC but my brain says Eckler…Eckler has had better stats and health over the past 3 years. But this will be CMCs first full season in 49ers land. But he’s also going to be sharing snaps…UGH!!!!
It won’t be a 50/50 split though. The 49er offense was made for CMC – he’s literally a perfect fit. Only thing to fear is his injury history, but he seems to be past that – played the majority of the last two seasons IIRC.
The Charger offense is actually built around Eckler, San Fran sorta did that with CMC. Either would be fine but this year with Eckler on a prove it deal for a LTC…I’d go with him.
I also have them both in my Dynasty but we’ve got 15 keepers in that. 25 man roster with a 10 round rookie/FA draft every year – it’s tough, but I’d keep CMC.
