My new Apple computer lists how many sites tried to track me that it blocked whenever I log on.
I have any possible tracking setting turned off, Apple allows that. Not all, of course, I’m not naive, but they are a hell of a lot more privacy conscious than Google/CIA.
I also use the anti-tracker on my Bitdefender subscription.
Least amount, they are still gathering it lol. But whatever helps you sleep at night. If one mega corp is doing it, its best to assume they all are. Or not.

I use my map a lot with all the traveling I do. I’m thinking of buying MapQuest.
I think OnX has direction capability now and it will work through Android Auto and Apple whatever they have. You also have the added benefit of property ownership and all sorts of layers for Forest Service, BLM, etc.
Buy a paper map.
I use Google for directions and OnX for most everything else, especially hunting.

For me the big change is when I no longer need a flashlight when walking my dogs after work.
Hey, that reminds me…my stepson drives way too fast from his house to the highway on our private road. I always keep an eye out for his headlights cresting the hill I walk to every morning with our dogs, and usually have a headlamp as the older Lab Tuck insists on me throwing a ball a dozen times while we walk and he sometimes can’t find it in the snow.
The other morning we had turned around and were heading back along the road, I had forgotten the headlamp. Tuck stops in “the usual spot” waiting for me to toss the ball across a little ravine of sorts so he can race down and up the ravine to find it. I say “nope no ball today I forgot the light” he still struggles with English…see the lights of the pickup coming over the hill and the dog is sitting on the side of the road just on a curve just out of sight of the headlights. Stupid dog sits there as I scream COME TUCK COME stepson had to be going 40 around the curve damn near hit the dog skidded off the side of the road. We both got a good scare there as the stupid Lab sat there with his tongue out and pleading eyes please throw the ball. Learned my lesson, I keep a spare headlamp in my jacket in case I forget to wear one.

Probably. His first words were “did I hit him? I only saw him the last second”, yeah of course you did cuz you were flying down the road. However, I take half the blame as I should have had my headlamp on and should have hit the e-collar hard the second I saw his headlights approaching, I didn’t start shocking Tuck until it was too late and even then it was only a mild tickle, he was too fixated on getting to chase the ball to worry about that tickle.

I have to say, Minnesota has the worst drivers on the planet. I thought Bismarck drivers were bad, but Minnesota’s drivers, especially those from Minneapolis, are far worse.
Do you guys have to take a drivers test and all that stuff? We have to here. You should look into incorporating that into your state’s plans.
I agree the overall ability of drivers around here is crap.
People forget how to drive in snow, and even panic with rain.
No blinkers, can’t maintain a constant speed on the highway, the vehicle just wanders aimlessly as if they are the only vehicle on the planet, absolutely no regard for anyone else on the road.
If you do use your turn signal to change lanes the car behind you will speed up to cut you off. “Minnesota nice” don’t ya know.

I actually was on the 694 in our little RV driving the speed limit and had a cement truck merging into my lane and he wasn’t gonna stop, had a couple of car lengths to move to the left and signaled, driver (you looked like a girl that day) sped up as I moved over and gave me a five second horn followed by a middle finger salute as I moved back over to the right. I always just smile and wave.

I think it was only like 30 or 40 bucks and does 4k video. It’s supposed to have motion detection for when you’re parked as well. I thought it had an internal battery so it wouldn’t have to be plugged in all the time but I think that was a lie. Definitely a Chinese thing but seems to work for a starter camera. I changed the camera from km/h to mph. That’s what it shows on the camera but if you open the app and see the live feed, everything is in km and there is no way to change it that I can find.
I need to get one too. We had them installed on all of our work trucks when I was at my corporate gig, they saved our us on several occasions
I’ve seen too many videos of people intentionally causing wrecks for insurance money. Not to mention the number of close calls I have had because somebody is too busy on their phone. This one is supposed to motion activate when you’re parked but I can’t get that to work. I’ll probably end up putting this in my wife’s rig and trying another one for mine.

I have heard that. Never driven there, only taken Uber. Worst city I’ve ever personally driven in is Seattle, followed closely by Portland.

Come to Orlando with all the tourists driving there rental cars, wife is giving them directions, and then there’a a shot from lane four. to an immediate exit.
I’ve always been shocked I’ve never seen in the news a fiery multicar pileup related to tourists leaving MCO. Inevitably for me it’s a day-long affair to get to MCO, I’m tired, it’s dark, and you’re in an unfamiliar vehicle fumbling with the wipers and headlights and climate control, while the stupid maps app struggles to give directions as you leave the rental car ramp. So many signs pointing to A/B terminal, I’ve cursed many a time missing a turn to the Beeline or 417…then there is navigating the toll booths I wonder how many tourists don’t see them until it’s too late and take the e-toll way or stand on their brakes. The merge from 528 to I-4 as the parks are closing …. don’t get me started.
This problem has become more acute as I have aged. I’m not sure if it’s cuz I’m an old fart at 55, if I have become too accustomed to zero traffic, or if Orlando traffic is that much worse than it was when I first encountered it in 1991.
BTW, off topic, but we got a letter today that we successfully surrendered our two consecutive time share weeks at Orange Lake outside Kissimmee. Thank goodness. I’ll probably never visit Orlando again, he says with a pang of nostalgia. Can’t say I’ll miss the flight delays at spring break or paying maintenance fees for two weeks when we haven’t stayed longer than 5 nights in ten years.
And there’s always the too and from flights to MCO. The jetways are full of strollers and the planes are packed with kids whose parents give them little attention.
You are correct, that swift left into the rental car return causes some extreme lane changes.
I have considered the same age vs accustom to no traffic. I hope it is the later but suspect a combination. Last I drove in a metro area was St Louis and I really did not like it.
Drove through St. Louis on our way to Nashville a few years ago. It was around midnight and the traffic was crazy. My daughter was following me and freaking out, we were cruising through there at about 80 MPH, with traffic in every direction.

I was reading some women takes on it, and they once again illustrate the divide between men and women thinking. They waxed orgasmic about how much of a powerful woman the lady character was in the movie.
And, as a guy, I couldn’t help notice how she invited a “bad boy” into her life, got all dramatic about it and cucked her nice guy husband in a way that everyone is supposed to applaud.
Meanwhile, the men could have taken care of the problem in like five minutes with a hammer and a really big nail…

I watched a few documentaries on the Zodiac, and have questioned whether it was my dad or not. He drove truck and had a steady run to that area. He kind of looks like the horrible sketch artist drawing as well.

Interesting that Steve McQueen modeled his ‘Bullit’ character on Dave Toschi – one of the main investigators in the Zodiac case. Eastwood’s ’Dirty Harry’ was also influenced by Toschi. Wild.

I’m a fan of the Dell latitude business computer, used them at my corporate gig and I love them.
We’ve never had good luck with Dell’s, but to each his own.
I got a new SP – 12 maybe? last month to replace my SP3. Holy cow did that make a big big difference. Starts up within a second.
