Our old pal, Nick Vigil, came up big for the Bengals last night. With the score tied at 20 toward the end of regulation, Vigil blocked a Cowboys punt to give the Bengals the ball back. A long TD to Chase put the Bengals ahead and they won the game 27-20, preserving the Bengals’ slim playoff hopes, if only for one more week.

The Raiders are having bad luck with quarterbacks. They already lost Derek Carr for the year, and Carr’s replacement, Aiden O’Connell, was diagnosed with a bone bruise he suffered in the same game, story from NFL.com.

Looks like communication over physical ability was the issue, especially early in the game. Not picking up on stunts/ blocking the wrong guy to let someone come in untouched is not a physical, its mental break downs. Those should be correctable. They seemed to get their shit figured out half way into the 3rd same as the week before.
They are “correctable”, but they seem to never get corrected consistently, unfortunately.

a. Sam is signed by KAM to a two year $90 contract with $75 guaranteed, JMac learns in the shadows.
b. Sam departs before TC, DJones is the insurance policy, JMac and DJ work side by side in TC. DJ is named the starter and JMac comes in at end of game garbage time.
c. Sam departs before TC, DJ is named the starter, JMac has learned the intellectual side and works his way to the starting slot during the season.
d. Sam departs before TC, DJ departs during TC, JMac is the starter, Mullens QB2.
I’m of course in the b or c category, as I’m sure most are…barring Sam bringing in the Lombardi.

Takes a 3 year (2 guaranteed) $90ish million dollar deal to stay with some fancy guarantees/incentives and we let JJ heal and learn with and under him. I take E.
F. ) Sam takes his one chance to get paid and lands a 35 + mill a year deal where he is the next Baker/Geno and is serviceable but never great. JJ takes over next year with Jones as his backup on a cheap deal so Jones can be re-invented by the QB guru and is subsequently traded. JJ brings multiple championships to MN, statues are built, babies are named Jonathon James, streets are renamed.

G.) Sam loses in the NFCCG, we let him go after the season, JJ gets a year to adjust and the Vikings become the next Chiefs, Jets steals Swift from Kelsey and start winning superb owl after superb owl.

Its an exciting time and a good problem to have. Fun being a fan of this team again.
I just think with the DJ signing, the FO is not going to be looking to sign Sam. If he makes a deep run in the playoffs, and is willing to take a team friendly deal with incentives, he could be back.
I view DJ as an insurance policy, for the next 12-14 months. There if you need it but hopefully wont have to use. I could be very wrong though.
I can see DJ being our starter week 1 next year. If for no other reason, to make him look good and trade him before the deadline if JJ is ready.

After much thought on this matter I have decided I don’t care. Whatever KOC thinks is best is what I want us to do.
Honestly, that is my take as well.
Things are so much better since Rick got fired, and I trust this coach/GM more than any in the history of this franchise.
There have been a few head-scratchers for sure (2022 draft anyone?), but some good hits, particularly on free agency this year. And 2023 draft hasn’t been particularly notable (save for Addison), but he’s used a lot of picks for trades and such. So overall, I would say better than Rick, but maybe not as good as some think.
I cannot think of a GM that has done better for this team.
Yes, some of his picks have been terrible. 2022 sucked. Hamilton would have been nice. He was a short-timer during that draft, so I will cut him some slack.
My take was always 3-5 seasons. Here we are, year 3, and the team is outperforming expectations. That is winning.
I expect next year should be good, although there could be a few less wins if things do not break their way.
2026 I expect the team to contend for the championship. At least be in the mix.
What GM did a better job for the Vikings?

Jeff Diamond did well with some things, but also gave Denny too much control since he was scared.
The gang of 12 was a shit show yet somehow made some very decent decisions.

It is telling that the guy cannot get another job doing what he did here.
I’m not saying any other GM did better – I just think some might be giving him more credit than he deserves, given his drafts have been pretty poor so far (and some pick trades he’s made have not been good). And we have like no picks next year. But yes, outperforming win-wise, which is partly due to other factors as well. Happy to see improvement over time, though!

I purchased an air compressor with the sole needed purpose being to inflate car tires in my garage vs having to use the things at the gas station in -20 temps.
I am 61 years old
I am very stupid for living here(obv), yet waiting this long to make a $40 purchase that severely improves my happiness while living in this frozen wasteland.
My garage is not heated, but is insulated and usually is at least 20 degrees even in brutal temps.
Welcome to the club, I used to be there as well. Now I have a small pancake compressor to run my pneumatic stapler, etc…a 5 gallon one that I can carry out to the tractor or mowers or other places I don’t have power if needed…and a monstrous one that attaches to pneumatic lines and rolled up hose reel in my shop. I check tire pressures on my cars at least once every two months and especially before a long highway trip.
Just topped of the air in both cars, without freezing, or having to drive.
Amazing.
I still hate living here because of the cold. I used to say that at least the cold kept the riff raff out, but that no longer applies thanks to the freebies to everyone.
My wife also hates the cold. She if oft heard saying, “we just need to get a place in Sedona and spend the coldest months there”. Myself I love the seasons, coming from the Edmonton area and having spent four years in Grand Forks I find eastern MT winters fairly mild, and I love love love that I can walk for a mile in any direction with my dogs without needing to put on a leash or interact with some doofus with a teacup doggy.
I think eventually I will either go to an extended stay hotel in February each year, or we downsize and get a smaller place here and a second place in AZ or FL
That’s essentially what my wife is “threatening” to do. I can stay home and work and she can enjoy the warm weather. Fortunately I think she would miss my smoking bod too much to do so (I hate being alone).
That is what we are thinking. Rent a place for Jan and/or Feb and skip the worst months up here.
Also, Sedona is amazing. I cannot afford that place though. It’s perfect for gougers.

I have a dual tank compressor to run my bigger tools & what not. I also have a 20V DeWalt that I absolutely LOVE, very handy machine, especially for me because I do work in some homes that have no power.

They do. I got the Ryobi 18v set with multiple tools about a decade ago for Fathers day, and just stuck with that brand. There are certainly better quality tools out there, but other than the drill and occasional use of the circular saw, I really do not use power tools often.

Im like, my guy, what are you doing with your life? Im getting up at 7am to barely pass Statistics class and you’re wasting your money at a private college.
I was a C+ student in high school, with the distinction of having 30+ absences in my afternoon classes while having zero in missed classes in the morning. Beer over lunch was a thing.
Once I went to college and had to pay, I was never late, took notes, did the reading ahead of time by purchasing the books early, and was an A student.

So I looked it up, M is the highest Roman Numeral. I also noticed on the interwebs, they have 8 as VIII. I was always taught to use the fewest Roman numerals, so shouldn’t it be IIX? or are you only allowed 1 Roman numeral before?
Anyway, the Romans were smart enough to know that their numbering system was stupid and knew it would be replaced since they only go to 1000 (M).
True story, the day my third grade class learned Roman numerals I was moved to a solo math enrichment class. In other words, I never learned Roman numerals in school. Makes me chuckle as I am always dictating things like “small low attenuation lesion in segment VII of the liver” or T4acN2bM0 stage IVa tongue cancer.
The Teacher says that Roman Numerals are not taught any more.
