Wow, Rodgers goes down at the beginning of the first game of the season. Yikes, I hope it isn’t serious. As of this writing, there has been no update, only that it is an achilles injury. I also heard ankle injury and foot injury from various sports news people, so who knows. Even without Rodgers, the Jets managed to beat the Buffalo Bills 22-16. Zach Wilson came in and did enough to help them get a win, as the Jets defense carried the bulk of the load.
Minnesota Vikings Discussion Topic of the Day
I wasn’t around yesterday, so I’m not sure how much this has been discussed already. I thought the Vikings’ O-line played fairly well on Sunday. They weren’t perfect, but the interior played a more consistently decent game than I remember seeing from them in quite a while.
Minnesota Vikings News:
TwinCities.com has a chronicle of the mistakes that led to the Vikings’ loss against the Buccanneers.
Sports Illustrated brings you Vikings snap counts from game one. Addison and Pace Jr. were both on the field a lot, as well they should be.
Jets rookie Xavier Gipson provided a walk-off punt return touchdown in ovetime to give the Jets a 22-16 victory over the Bills, from CBS Sports. Rodgers was knocked out of the game early, but Zach Wilson took the wheel and he at least kept it between the ditches so that the defense and special teams could do their thing. Wilson threw the touchdown pass that tied the game at 16. When a defense holds the Bills offense to 16, then they did their jobs.
After Aaron Rodgers’ injury, David Bakhtiari ripped into the NFL for using artificial turf, according to USA Today. Ummmm, they’ve been using that for decades there, Sparky.
Video of the Day:
Kevin O’Connell addressed the media yesterday, here it is!
Thread Guidelines
- Keep politics out. We are adults, news happens, and we can talk about it. What we don’t want is to go down the rabbit holes and turn a productive conversation into name calling and personal attacks.
- Be cool to one another. Like it says above, just be civil. You don’t need to agree with everyone and that’s fine, you also don’t need to make it personal. Attack the argument not the poster.
- Keep the NSFW to a minimum. We don’t need anyone getting in trouble at work for hanging out here.
- All in all, be adults. Treat each other with respect and things will be fine. Mods will take out content they feel is pushing the boundary. If you want to reach out about something feel free to ask. We want to have robust discussions, that’s why we’re here. Just be civil and cool to one another.
We need an intervention with our play caller.
…or the guy throwing the ball. Kevin calls the plays, Kirks job is to throw it to the open/ play makers. Come on man. Please see reality.
Former NFL wide receiver Mike Williams has died, his agent said Tuesday. He was 36.
Agent Hadley Engelhard said Williams died Tuesday morning at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Tampa, Florida.
Williams had been hospitalized in intensive care after an accident at a construction site in Hillsborough County, which includes Tampa, that left him partially paralyzed.
The Tampa Bay Times citing Tierney Lyle, the mother of Williams’ 8-year-old daughter, reported he was taken off a ventilator Thursday.
Tragic.
What an effing joke.
CDC recommends updated Covid vaccines for everyone ages 6 months and up, allowing shots to start within days
Thank God!!! There were so many healthy kids dying from Covid….
I think in North Dakota there were…….0….I think 2 kids died that had other severe health problems.
Just first of many things to come. Probably end up somewhere where candidates won’t(can”t) leave the house to campaign.
It’s bullshit, my kids pediatrician says recently that the cdc data shows no benefit for children getting the vaccine, he said when they do produce evidence it has benefits he will recommend it but until then he said skip it.
You have children?
I have children and grandchildren. Thanks for asking.
this question wasn’t directed at you
I know. I was being a smart alec.
Vikings rank 29th of 32 teams in Yards per Carry….
@For God’s sakes lets run it more@
Good blocking might help.
I don’t like the offense, I think that’s clear to everyone. All I can do is hope I’m wrong, and KOC proves to be the offensive guru he has been proclaimed to be.
I’d like some takes on this from the golf gang. 3 handicapper guy talking shit about a LPGA lass Charley Hull said he would make every cut on the LPGA and be a top 20 player lol….Charley had something to say…..
There is no doubt that female professional golfers can beat most men. They have spectacular short games, and putt like nobody’s business. They’re plenty long these days too.
My money would be on Hull kicking his ass.
That’s pretty racist that she’ll play off the whites
Here is one interesting article….
How would a scratch golfer fare against LPGA pros? Not well.
A joke – no way a 3 HC can play with an LPGA Pro.
He is full of shit.
Given that golf is a mental game at that level, there is no way he would make every cut. He would likely miss most cuts.
From what I can see a 3 handicapper isn’t going to make any cuts…
A male scratch golfer probably would make some.
Not sure. Most of the pros carry a plus five handicap or so. And it travels unlike most amateur handicaps.
Thank you all! Spot on takes, especially Ben’s 😂.
Lol
He sucks?
Is this an average figure? Would think the TD catch would provide a big number.
Was he the target on the last sideline pass? Wasn’t a lot of separation.
Myles Gaskin re-signed to the Vikings Roster
Minnesota Rushing
Alexander Mattison 11 rushes 34 yards
Kirk Cousins 3 rushes 7 yards
Ty Chandler 3 rushes 0 yards
Totals 17 rushes 41 yards
Going to have to pass to open up the run game. Then go to play action. Teams know the plan is play action, and they are prepared. Pass the damn ball, we have JJ, Addison, Hock and then good support. Loosen them up, start running more when they adjust. Then do play action.
They definitely needed to pass down field more.
That TE screen crap played right into TB’s defense.
I just don’t think any team is buying into PA for the Vikings until one of our RB’s proves it.
We threw the ball downfield the fourth most in the league last week.
Because we had too. Oliver was brought in specifically as they said to improve the run game and be a more physical run dominate team. Well I don’t remember one single sweep with Oliver and Ham leading Mattison around the end imposing their will. I mean damn is this a clear case of overthinking this?? Use the players for what they do well…don’t fucking send Oliver out on TE routes. Great he can catch…save that shit we need to show defenses we can run the ball at will….THEN that buys Kirk and the passing game some space and time to light it up down field. I really don’t understand why it so complicated. I will say, the Bucs have a top 5 defense so they and their two LB’s David and White are pro bowl level guys so to have them beat you down is not out of the question.
I think it’s because KOC runs a very complicated offense, thinking he’s clever. There are so many simple plays that TE’s can run and be wide open. There are timing routes that can get you 5 yards any time you want. He wants to run these long developing plays when his line can’t hold up. Then tries to run a screen when the defense knows that’s all that’s left in the barrel.
Well said. The Kirk//JJ show is only going so far. If we can’t line up with Oliver and Ham in there and NOT be able to run the ball, something is wrong. They have to respect JJ all the time with coverage which should allow an advantage to run.
Can we simply not block worth a shit?
I think it’s trust. I don’t think KOC believes they can commit to the run and not get continually behind the chains. Passing game is an easy sugar high and in reality has more protection (poor choice of words) for the offense via penalty rules protecting the QB and the WR’s right to the forward pass. So I think running the ball has lost its luster although I agree it’s the foundational essence of men moving the ball down the field by force. I think it dovetails in also to why RB’s have lost equity in the fight for positional pay.
He attempted 7 passes beyond 10 yards.
29 passes between 7-10 yards.
7-10 yards is not passing downfield IMO.
He threw TE screens into TB’s front seven all day.
He threw 5 passes beyond 20 yards and one pass beyond 40 yards. Only three other QB’s surpassed those numbers. Derek Carr, Matt Stafford, and Tua. Them’s the facts.
It’s sad how bad the run game was in the first game. KOC made improving our run game a point of emphasis in the off season. Total failure.
I think the whole “offensive guru” bit has been oversold to us at this point. He worked for Sean McVay… he isn’t Sean McVay.
I’ve said a number of times since he was hired, just because he sniffed McVays butt doesn’t mean he’ll be good. I think he’s a good HC as far as connecting with players, managing the game, TOs and clock management, but if he’s designing the offensive game plans and calling plays he’s ok not great at this point in that regard.
Sometimes it’s not about the Xs and the Os but the Jimmies and Joes.
Sometimes a good coach has to have the right X’s and O’s for his Jimmies and Joes.
Yeah, well on Sunday For the Vikings Jimmy was blowing joe
That is no way to talk about Kirk.
In the immortal word of John Madden – all plays must start with a good blocking scheme. And, of course, you then need to execute that by actually blocking
Should have hired Harbaugh. Yes, I will continue to beat this rotten, dead carcass of a horse.
LET IT GO…..
Has anybody checked on Joe Buck today?
LOL
No wind in the sails around here today. Guessing after beatdown Thursday will be worse.
Meh, a beat down will not be unexpected so my mood will change very little. More losses = higher draft pick. I still haven’t watched the game or highlights. I got to listen to some of it and they said multiple times that Cousins looked “confused, unprepared and frantic.”
Colin Kaepernick’s agent has reached out to the Jets about his desire to make an NFL return. Kaepernick remains on the West Coast working out.
Maybe KAM goes after him next year.
Sign him. Morbid curiosity.
He’s perfect for the Vikings. In November he’ll be 36 years old, and next year it will have been 7 years since he last played in the NFL.
Doubt a owner will take a chance. I lost a brother, don’t kneel for the anthem MF’er.
I’m right there with you. Would hate to see him in Purple.
THIS!!!
Condolences. Freedom isn’t free.
That’s right, it costs folks like you and me, and if you don’t throw in your Buck o five who will
this is a joke right?
how long has he been out of the league? 5 years?
what a complete tool if he legit thinks he can still play in the NFL hahaha
He can go fuck himself, sincerely.
This cannot be said often enough or loudly enough.
That ani-American Mother Fucker can go fuck himself.
If Aaron Rodgers played 65% of the offensive snaps for the 2023 New York Jets, the Green Bay Packers would own the Jets 1st-Round draft pick in 2024.
Unfortunately for the Packers, now the Jets will owe them a second-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. Rodgers had to play 65 percent of the snaps this season for the Packers to get the Jets’ 2024 first-round pick.
2nd rounder for 4 snaps and a incompletion.
Yep. Both sides failed to garner what they expected from the trade.
Can we see more of Ty and put Brandel in for the traffic cone?
I do wish the reporters at the pressers would ask Wes Phillips and KOC just exactly what in the HELL they were thinking in the offseason regarding this O-line. I would stand there and say to Wes today “you told us Ingram was doing great and he was going to be very good this year, and he got rag-dolled again, just like every single game last year. What the actual fuck is wrong with you?”
Sneak peak at Dalton Risner’s application to join the Vikings:
1) Have you ever sacked your own QB?
YES___ NO___
2) Have you ever strip-sacked your own QB?
YES___ NO___
If you answered NO to all questions, welcome to the team.
What is a positive you bring to the O-line?
Ingram and Mattison couldn’t pick up a blitzing safety together.
Sign the man. Now.
Also, have you ever raped children?
That’s generous.
I thought it was about right.
You really can’t go bonkers after one week.
It’s hit or miss.
17.
Vikings getting owned by Baker Mayfield.🫤(sound on) I fucking hate this team.
Our CB really looked like a stud there!
So much for Peterson prediction that he’d intercept Purdy
Laughing… yep.
Smith will be injured here soon.
Smith shoots his wad early in the season and then disappears.
LOL.
Good.
FTP and their fans.
You know the next 3 hours after the local sheriffs department was flooded with calls about drunkards in FTP jerseys just pounding sheep….
Apparently, there is one smart person in Wisconsin, and he owns a bar.
*moved there from Minnesota…
I don’t hope for anyone to get injured.
Funny is different then hoping for an injury.
With that in mind:
Rogers 2023 highlights
That whole entrance thing was so overdone. So over the top. It was ridiculous in the extreme.
That said, I still don’t like seeing this kind of thing happen in a game. I accept it though because in the end, football is a physically violent game. It comes with territory.
https://www.dailynorseman.com/2023/9/12/23870083/nincompoop-of-the-week-week-1-2023
Why would I want to read something on the DN?
Lol…. Yup.
They have the z key
Do you need it there however?
Sheryl Crow has a theory about that……..
She’sa stupid lib
Excellent point.

Here’s how:
At least he didn’t swipe the ball away.
Maybe the Bills will be over Allen’s interceptions and the Vikings can trade for him this offseason.
What are the chances KAM trades Kirk to the Jets? Would Kirk waive his no trade clause?
Saw a post on Reddit about that last night. If we could get draft capitol for him instead of nothing, that would a win in my book. If the jets hang in there and are around .500 by week 5 or 6 and the Vikings are 1-5, pull the trigger man.
Kwesi’s definition of draft capital for Cousins – 6th rd pick.
Better than 0 picks.
Deal.
I’d say zero.
Jets have $9 million in cap space for 2023.
Jets have $23 million in cap space for 2024.
Kirk demands everything guaranteed.
Yep, as well he should, Don’t be stupid and let the GM fuck you over. Control your own destiny. Smart football player.
No, not at all. He offers his services at below market value. He is just smart in ensuring the GM can’t fuck him by signing a contract that isn’t worth the paper it’s printed on. Very wise.
Kirk is a family man first. He won’t move his kids mid-school year.
I don’t know why you think he wouldn’t take his home life into account.
He might.
But it’s not really that difficult in today’s world to have the wife and kids stay in Minny while he were to play one year somewhere else.
If a team offered $50 million a year guaranteed he would take the job in a heartbeat.
Did football outsiders (DVOA) go away?
Hopefully
Yes, please.
Just reported – Rogers out for season, torn achilles.
4 Plays – Amazing how fast the Hype Train can go off the rails. I do feel for Jets fans though.
I feel really, really bad for Jets fans. Got to know them when Teddy was there briefly. Good bunch over there.
Maybe. They still have a stud defense and a strong running game. May not be over for them just yet.
Injury though, just sucks.
That defense is a thing of beauty.
Their defense is SB worthy, im jealous. But they will need a QB to get them over the hump.
Guess they were trying to save money by only keeping Wilson as a back up. Slim pickings out there now.
Ouch, this seriously sucks for the Jets. Feel bad for Rodgers as well, wonder if he even wants to come back from this.
40 year olds with achilles tear is pretty tough.
Yup, I think his career ended with that snap.
Ditto
Part way through last night’s game I get a notification that Ty Bass scored a FG for me. Yay.
But he’s not on my team…………..
……so I thought. I apparently am on another league I didn’t know about, didn’t participate in the draft, and my autodrafted team scored 145 points…….for the loss to some dude with the All-Madden team who scored 149.
Or maybe I was sleep-drafting?
“Power Rankings”
21. Vikings (0-1, No. 18): This could quickly go off the rails.
But we have a top 10 D and O!!!!
According to…? Someone with out eye balls?
On Twitter people like to use yards allowed of ESPN.
Where our ranks are
Offense is at 6
Defense is at 7.
Last year when we were winning games this was an important stat since our D was dead last most of the year.
Anyways, I don’t really care about the stats, as long as we are winning.
I was being sarcastic
Actually, several here think that if the D and O stats improve, the team will win more.
It would make sense if our D gave up less yards, we should win more.
I never liked the rankings thing.
If the offense continually gives the other team a short field, yards are going to be less.
Yes in theory.
But it is never a static If x then y.
Way too many variables.
If the “terrible OL” improves, it won’t translate into a better offense. It might. It might not.
Crazy I know.
I tried pointing this out before the season started and was called nuts for saying so.
Yeah. I think PFF had our dumpster fire D ranked in the top 5 or some crazy shit in 2022.
Sometimes stats are revealing and relevant and sometimes not. Context is usually important.
AT and Cook had very underwhelming games.
Looking like the right decision to let him walk.
Correct, overpriced and underperforming
I think anyone with a critical eye knew they had to go and werent worth the money. They wouldnt help the problems with this roster anyway.
What about just posting “They suck, cut them” over and over?
That gets about as old as watching them 1-2 yard gains and getting hurt
Think blocking had anything to do with Cook’s up and down runs?
No, he 100% lost a step or two even before last year. He looked exactly the same last night. Obviously if the O line can make a giant hole, any RB can run through that so, to a point yes, but he’s far from a bell cow, game changing back. And nearing 30 if not there already? No thanks.
Don’t know for sure. I didn’t think he had lost a step, but didn’t seem to want to lower his shoulder any more, and not much of a tackle would knock him down.
Kfey sucks, ban him
Vikes win on Thursday, I can sense it
Would be a wild upset. I can see a repeat of last season week 2 being more likely.
This is a game of brute physicality – not usually our strength. Too many slackers up front.
Still, not ready to give up on the season if we lose.
I have a feeling that vikes win also. Did vikes have any back to back stinkers last year? I think KOC will have them playing well.
(Of course my feels don’t amount to squat, every time I go out elk hunting I have the ‘feeling’ I am going to shoot one).
I’m enjoying this empty nest lifestyle
checks blog…..Vikings…they suck and will start 2-4
Who are their 2 wins? Chargers gonna rock us too man. 1-5, tank this mofo baby!
Most likely panthers and bears
You forgot the Vikings innate ability to make rookie QBs look All Pro. They will lose to the Panthers after Thielen catches 3 TDs and 175 yards.
Maybe, though all the rookie QBs looked very meh or just bad
Been putting in some LONG-assed days, a couple 15 hour days in the past week. Business is taking off, hoping to have it running like a well-oiled machine, then hire someone to do the work.
In the chaos, I forgot to submit my picks in time and ajust my fantasy roster. Kiddo was a little mad at his dad, especially about the fantasy lineup.
Then, the Cowboys defense decided to get me 88 points, and we destroyed kfey by fiddy. Kiddo and I had a good laugh about it last night.
@lazy ass bum@
I didn’t figure you got a golfer
I only play real golf. Miniature golf.
Meh, thats the way fantasy goes, I can only start who I got, lots of luck involved. Had they had a normal night I woulda shit on you by 50+ so. Its all good.
Didn’t realize he was into OBJ kinks
You should see his Fridge
Flying out to DC here in a while, spam and egg sandwich and a surly axe man at the airport restaurant for breakfast, morning beers at the airport are the best!
Safe travels. I’ve consumed weird food and drink at weird hours of the day in airports as well. One of the “perks” of business travel.
Yeah, I probably should have left yesterday, but I don’t fly in 9.11. Also, I’m one of the quirky people that like spam.
Going to DC – hold on to your wallet National or Dulles?
Reagan of course!
Nice airport. I still can’t get used to calling Nation Reagan – it’s only been 25 tears or so.
Still, be safe out there. Downtown area of DC is pretty scetchy in spots.
Yeah, idk what you’d call the area but it’s right by the Washington channel, staying at National mall or something like that. Might go play the east Potomac 9 hole par 3 course while I’m there.
National Mall is a pretty area. East Potomac has it’s ups and downs. Course is OK but at times some of the golfers are kind of rough. But, it’s pretty and right on the Potomac.
Good to know, thanks!
This MF’r never had a chance, I know surly will appreciate this
I am so so hungry now…
I have a banana, though, so that’s almost as good as nothing!
I can’t look at or think about a banana without thinking of Mitch Hedberg’s bit comparing them to street lights being the opposite, “green means not yet, yellow means go ahead, red means where the fuck did you get a red banana?”
That reminds me of Chris Rock’s America’s got to much food; We got to much food in America. They say don’t eat red meat, it’s not good for you. No, don’t eat green meat.
RIP….. Hedburg was one of my favorites.
’Diet Dr. Pepper tastes more like regular Dr. Pepper…. well, then they FUCKED UP!…’
Yeah, king of the one liners, heroin is a helluva drug, RIP
That looks amazing, and even better that they served Axe Man there.
It was a great breakfast
My favorite breakfast is a double order of scattered, smothered, covered, chunked, and topped.
I gotta be honest, I’m not sure what that is, but it still sounds delicious
Well, unless you’re a Southern guy and Waffle House aficionado, you wouldn’t…
Where’s the gravy?
Laughing… this is the most complete meal I have ever found. All the basic food groups; fat, salt, cholesterol, and red dye #6. Only thing lacking is beer.
Yep, never had the chance to go, hope to someday.
Man, back when I drank, I used to LOVE morning beers at the airport.
Spam and egg sandwich, that’s typically what I take to the stand to eat while I’m hunting
If you’re feeling ennui, don’t worry…we’ll get jobbed by a pisspoor DPI call in the 4th by the refs in Philly and lose on a last second FG and all our faith will be restored that despite being 0-2 we have potential to be world beaters. Of course we will forget the bone headed mistakes and inability to execute that happened for the 58 minutes before the call…because…Vikings fans.
Lol Vikes will be out of it half way through the 2nd. Not to worry.
Bridgewater…easily…we were so fucked that we single-handedly vaulted another rival to a SB.
I don’t know about worst, but Kevin Love’s “knuckle pushups” has to be the stupidest.
Thumbs up, and most confounding was mauers “bilateral leg weakness”
cough roids cough cough
Mauer never to roids, he played in the era where they tested for them and he’s way to wholesome and milquetoast for that tomfoolery!
if i have to explain it to you, you’re already lost. keep your head in the sand, brah
Just happened to hit 30 home runs in a contract year, and never came close any others.
He is the greatest hitting catcher in history though
Yeah he could hit, but that year was crazy.
Yeah, the dome was much more conducive to him hitting home runs than target, then all the injury stuff, I still wonder what would have been had he and morneau never had concussion problems
Stringer….
Although is that an injury?
Heinicke’s drunken mishap at home with glass.
That’s probably the most humorous and accurate
Gus Frerotte running into wall and getting a concussion.
He was a redskin at that time though
That’s right, how about Kevin Love claiming he broke his hand doing knuckle push-ups, when he really hit a wall.
Yeah that’s up there
Not Minnesota, not soul crushing….
But the funniest injury to me was Bill Gramatica tearing his ACL while jumping in the air to celebrate a made field goal.
I was thinking of that one and the guy that got hurt mocking Rodgers’ championship belt thing.
That was hilarious
LOL.
Yup. I remember….
The most soul crushing was when Puckett had to hang it up – then years later the SI article came out and he went from hero to zero….
Since it’s Rodgers, we need to now ban artifical turf, according to Bacteria.
Pre-Vikings AP breaking his collar bone doing a flip into the end zone for Sooners. Probably why we were able to pick him up in the draft.
And they’re STILL not going to sign Risner.
FO is stupid if they don’t do something about Ingram
The reality is they’re not going to do anything. The competitive rebuild was all BS. The priority was and is reducing and strengthening the future cap to leverage building the roster they want. They didn’t care about winning now. They do want to sign the core young talented players but beyond that we’re waiting for a contender to be built.
If you are just realizing this now, I got an uncle in Nigeria who has an investment that guarantees a 1,000% return in 6 months.
http://www.nigeriaBS.com
I miss raaaacist
Is it Raaaacist if its true though?
You’d have to ask raa
Where do I send my personal information?
TL;DR, they suck.
No team has signed him. There has to be a reason. I’m guessing that there’s some issue or information that the GMs are aware of, but we fans are not aware of.
Food for thought.
The 2014 Super Bowl Champion New England Patriots got their asses kicked by a shitty Miami team 20 to 33 in their first game.
Its a long haul boys, one game does not a season make.
We have to read the writing on the wall….
Food for thought, they had a combination of the goat QB/HC combo, a good oline, and and a great defense, this team isn’t sniffing the SB, will be lucky just to make the playoffs.
So then we shouldn’t sign Risner…and we should save the dollars and do a more complete rebuild next year.
Or they could sign him to solidify at least one iol pass blocker and cut Ingram to at least give themselves some semblance of competence inside.
You’re saying there’s a chance?
Amen, brother!
Get your eyes checked, you’re blind. Ingram did everything possible to give the ball to the other team and get Kirk killed.
Yes, because we should evaluate an entire game based on one play. I forgot.
One play? Ingram had at least 5 plays where he absolutely fucked the play up
One year and one game’s worth of evidence really.
Is it just me, or last night did EVERY tackle seem like there was potential for season-ending injury or concussion?
It looked like every defender put unnecessary force into the tackle – whipping the guy to the ground – intentionally letting their bodies land on and roll over legs/feet and head – several hits out of bounds that weren’t called – blows to the head – helmet contact.
Both defenses were vicious. Our D isn’t even close to that level.
Vikings have a bunch of pussies on defense, need more dogs!
I feel better already. Was great reading material at top and learning offense line played
Fairly well yesterday.
Lifer, quite showing me all those ole blocks.
Get Ready……
Brady ain’t going anywhere with a poor oline.
Get ready for Rodgers in a Viking uniform next year
I’d go for it… Rogers, JJ, Hock, Addison… fuck yeah!
The parallels to Favre are uncanny
You typed “Dick Pic” in the search too huh? Haha! Because I saw that one as well.
i actually just typed in “that’s a penis” since i knew i wanted to use the gif.
You would know foreskinface
if only I could will this into existence
I’m either Grumpy or Sleepy. Or maybe both.
Well, we certainly know who MT is
There’s a horny dwarf?
Yes, the much lesser known dwarf Randy
Ha!
Slumpy?
Maybe you will transfer from the Salt mines to the Lithium mines.
Sign me up, comrade.
I’ve got to get all my posts in now before I head off to the salt mines.
From GF’s words up top.
I’m trying to decide if I should fix it to say, the past month, or if I should say we didn’t notice. Either way, I’m sure I’m in trouble. Unless of course he doesn’t come around again today.
My how things have changed since going 114 mph down the freeway. Listen to the quite maturity of the young rookie. He may be the lone bright spot in this entire season.
Sometimes doing something incredibly stupid gives you that push to realize you need to grow up.
Somebody is speaking from experience…
If that’s true I should be the most mature person on earth
Yet here we are.
Yeah, I’m about as juvenile as it gets
The operative word is “sometimes”
Now you did it.
He will be in Jail by the end of the year.
I thought itt was 144?
Josh Allen has become a turnover machine. Is the lovefest done?
He serves up more turnovers than a NY pastry shop. At what point does their coaching staff say hey bro…this free wheeling Superman bullshit is costing us games. Stick to the play and protect the ball. He won’t though…they’ve created a Broseph monster who thinks he can do anything he wants.
He kind of reminds me of Favre, except not anyway near as good.
So folks are seeing that the QB protecting the ball is a very necessary thing. People raved about Josh Allen and his swashbuckling play. Now all of a sudden they’re saying… reign it in son. You can’t just keep chucking the ball up for grabs.
KOC needs to also pay attention here. He inherited a QB who was good with not throwing the ball into bad places, and encouraged him to stop doing that. In fact, he designed and implemented an offense that facilitates turnovers with the receivers deciding where they are running their routes in mid-flight. We have seen many instances where Cousins threw the ball one place, and the receiver went a different direction.
Protecting the ball is job one for your QB. It’s a simple rule. Follow it.
Not his fault.
OL and receivers suck.
I believe I mentioned here once, that Daboll was the reason Josh Allen was good and he would regress without him.
He had 5k+ yards last year and 42 TDs with the same amount of turnovers as Kirk, if that’s regressing sign me up
I reviewed Cobweb. It had the right idea but couldn’t overcome some of its mistakes. It is basically the Minnesota Vikings in movie form…

So utterly disappointing and always leaving with an emotional kick in the nuts? Think I’ll pass.
You aren’t missing much.
They are reporting from the Jets medical team Rodgers suffered some level of Achilles injury last night as I astutely called immediately after seeing the replay and seeing Rodgers carted off.
I believe it’s an Achilles tear based on the zoomed in shot below and full dorsiflexion of his foot, toes / cleats set in the ground and the weight of the defender in his lower back pushing him forward. That is a recipe for a full achilles tear and he knew it because he stood there processing and then sat down because he felt it pop on the play and he knows what it is.
All the hype, all the fanfare and it was 4 plays and done for the year.
He is your full on confirmation that Rodgers is done for the season and likely his career.
In the below video you can see his calf pop and ball up which is the classic sign it was a complete achilles tear. He. Is. Done. We no longer have to deal with his smug shit, the media fawning over him for an entire offseason and regular season. Starfucked refs giving him calls because he whines. It’s finally over with this guy. Buh Bye👋
Agree that he is a smug douche, but, I hate to see that happen.
The poor Jets fans – really snake bit, aren’t they?
at least they have one championship
True…sigh….
I have also thought of Rodgers like Kobe Byrant. I like cheering against them, but I liked having them in the league, too.
Now Rodgers goes out just like Kobe. Weird.
If it tore off the calf that’s a full rupture not just a tear like Spuds had
Well…that sucks.
Painful to watch. Guess Rodgers is really done for the season, and the Jest are fucked. Just bad luck.
Well Rodgers is playing on a three-year $112.5 million deal. He has $75 million fully guaranteed on his contract. If this injury ends his career, he’ll still be on the books with the Jets, and have $75M to play around with.
Yeah I don’t see him coming back from this at his age especially after this disastrous result from all the build up. Jets owner / GM are already looking to see how they can get out of this contract which they cannot. They have dead hits of:
2023- $74 mill
2024- $66 mill
2025- $49 mill
They may force his hand to rehab, maybe he will feeling obligated to after signing this deal but I know he does not want to go through all of this just to have another injury. We’ll see but I hope he calls it a career. He should.
The ONLY positive for the Jets in this situation is Rodgers needed to play 65% of the snaps for their pick to be a 1st. It’s a 2nd now. So if they need a QB if moving on from Rodgers they will have a pick to do so in next yrs draft. Packers got lucky and fucked at the same time.
I feel bad for the Jets as I think they were thinking that all they needed was a qb. I don’t feel bad for Rodgers as I’m sure he will be able to pay his rent. Plus he will go on and do some sort of broadcasting and make a ton of more money in his life.
@he’s fine@
rub some dirt on it
I was going to come on this morning and say that you were right last night. However, you have already told everyone that you are right, so I don’t need to add that you were right.
All right?
But he was “immunized”, how can that be?
