See some exercise talk below. Just got back from doing a very simple program a guy gave me. It’s simple and I’ve stuck. with it for about a month now. three exercise and a little cardio.
5 minutues cardio (bike, walk, eliptical, high knees in place). set of pushups (many as you like), pullups (same). farmers walk two weights (pick amount), then back to cardio for 5 minutes etc.
Do as much or as fast as you like. If pushups are too easy elevate your feet, pullups get me as they are. and Farmers carry – you can go as heavy. as you like.
Works pretty well,not to complicated and you can do it for cardio as well as strength/fitness
Anyway, just an idea for those who might care.
I’m down about 20-25 pounds since the beginning of November. DDPY in the morning. Running in the evening or assault bike. Cleaned up my eating too. Not perfect by any means but much better.
that’s great results. Think the secret is to find something that works, doesn’t make you miserable, and thus you will stay at it.
Eating is of course the key to weight control.
Agreed. I’m the lightest I’ve been in since like Jr year of high school. Still a ways to go but 270. My fatest was 330. I can’t imagine 60 more pounds right now.

Heard a pretty smart PT say WRT weight loss key was “slow and regular.” Said folks that lose a lot quickly almost always put it back on.
Don’t know if true or not. But do know with putting on muscle, if put on, or built up slowly, it will stay longer when training stops.

Just some random thoughts – with a little experience.
Going to ER has much higher deductible – like 500 or 1000.
If it’s “in network”, at the ER, maybe Ins may turn it down, but don’t believe hospital can charge you. It’s not like you can go shop for services.
As far as write offs. When I got my knee done, saw the surgeon charged 35k. Then saw the insurance gave him 7.5k – guess he just writes it off. Same with a lot of the hospital charges.
Last thought if you can’t get billing. Check your credit bureau and see if there are any bills on it.

It is Hela-confusing.
The denial only lists what they denied not what they covered.
The prices don’t say if they are standard costs or ‘in network’ costs or what they normally pay hospitals for’ so lots of ‘guesswork’ on our part.
I know what they get from insurance is much less then what they try to gouge patients for directly.
We got the first denial by mail two weeks after the fact but it was timed/dated while she was in the ER. Did the hospital know it was denied but not tell us?
While we were in the hospital they were waiting for the MRI scheduling issues to be resolved and they were looking at keeping her an extra day even though that had nothing to do with her original issue. I asked them if they were trying to drag out our stay for more $$ and their eyes got big and we were discharged within the hour.
Starting to think I was more right than I thought at the time.
Another thought. Hospitals usually have a pretty good idea what insurance will normally pay and what they won’t.
My wife recently had a stroke. We went to ER and they asked her insurance and I provided the info. Right then, they plugged the info into computer and knew exactly what was/would be covered by her policy. Since you were in network, I’d think they knew.
Again, your credit bureau might be insightful.

The Medical Insurance Discussion way down at the Bottom/Beginning of the tread reminded me of The Teachers Hospital Stay.
The insurance Co has notifed us 3X now that almost the entirety of the claim has been denied. So they are leaving $10s of thousands of tests/stays/Dr/Medicine/etc uncovered.
Now the Hospital, we are only able to leave a message at the billing office, they have yet to return a call or email. But we have yet to receive a bill. The insurance co has denying the claims for 2.5 months now, first time while she was in the ER per the date/time of the denial. But we have yet to receive any communication from the hospital.
So did the hospital ‘write it off’?
Are they still arguing with the Ins Co?
Did they accept what little was covered because they are ‘in network’?
Are they waiting until some ‘statute of limitations’ is up before they present the bill so that we can’t file an appeal?
Or are they just lulling us into a false sense of hope before they sucker punch us with a $40-50k Bill???
i would find it hard to believe they are just gonna “write it off”
in my experience with hospitals. they want their money and won’t leave you alone until they get it.
We are willing to talk to them, but they have yet to contact us since early Oct.
We figured that even if we knew we had to pay for it we probably would at least stayed over night, so we are willing to negotiate with them.

yeah that does sound pretty stressful.
i stopped paying my hospital bill when i THOUGHT i hit my deductible. kept getting calls from unknown number (the hospital) and finally answered after like 2 months of it only to find out it was the hospital wanting the final payments. had to dig into my health insurance fine prints to see that i had actually NOT hit my deductible. So they HOUNDED me.
Oh man, that has to nerve racking! Sorry man. Had a teacher friend who had a heart attack, hellicopter ride… I think hundreds of thousands if not over a million… and it just disappeared.

Yeah, that’s the last I heard and it was months and months since happening but I haven’t asked since.
Since we have not heard from the hospital since we were discharged we have hope.
But since they have not even answered our messages has us worried.
We are not dodging them, they are the ones to refuse to communicate.
Can you go in to the business office in person? That’s what I would do at this point.
Business office is 40 miles away.
We used that hospital because her Dr recommended it.
The Teacher can only go on weekend/holidays due to work while their office is closed those days.
Guess i’d go, can’t keep cringing going to mail box everyday.
It is The Teachers call. Her insurance from the School district and bills are all in her name.
She tried for weeks to contact them and now she is in ‘it is up to them’ mode now.
Well she will have time off over the Christmas break. Based on the lack of response I personally would go in.
We already have a trip to Boise planned.
Meeting with property manager to take back the retirement house.
Leaving this weekend and back just before Christmas.
Maybe after Christmas if we have not heard from them by then.
My buddy was like… Um… Do I ask or just let it be because the worst case scenario is they tell me I owe so might as well wait for them to tell me I owe lol.
That is where we are.
Once we get a ‘bill’ we can deal with that. Open a dialog, contact and attorney, pay the bill (if it is reasonable).
The Teacher did the math on what was denied and she figures it could max out a 100k worst case.
I wouldn’t count on the charges disappearing.
I think the total bill for my wife’s robotic girl part – ectomy was close to $60K gross and after insurance adjustments etc our out of pocket was a small fraction of that, but we got another EOB with some additional small charge waiting for insurance letter a couple of weeks ago, and the surgery was just over a year ago. My wife used to do insurance billing and there is a lot of complexity behind the scenes.
I guess it becomes a ‘how long’ before we hear from them thing.
The ‘Hope for the best but expect the worst’ thing is getting old in this case.
We never saw a medical bill for my daughters 3 month stay last year.
Id bet it was over a $1,000,000 with all the drs in and out of her room.
Her 2 day IV treatments done every month are $100,000.
Medical industry is just ridiculous.

Fun fact, Just donated $100 to St Jude for my mom’s Christmas Gift. She doesn’t have room at the retirement home for more stuff so she prefers donations in her name.

This probably isn’t like me, but I’m going with no. I have faith in our defense, but I do not have faith in our backup qbs. Detroit is going to stumble just long enough that when they play us, they will get their mojo back and squeak past us. Green Bay will be listening to Joe Buck and will have a few flashes, just enough to embarrass us. Last week we had everyone lose that we needed to lose, so now our luck has all been used up. The last week of the season, everyone that needs to lose for us to get in will win.

I’m leaning towards this outcome as well, for the same reasons. The Vikings might surprise us and the Football Gods might favor us for a bit to get in (and then crush our souls in a new and inventive way), but a LOT of things will have to go our way for the Vikes to qualify.
Wondering if Detroit/Minnesota gets moved to the 325 slot next week.
SNF is slated for Patriots/Broncos – no way that holds, Dolphins/Cowboys likely to get flexed to SNF. Don’t know if Pats/Broncos will then drop to 325 or if they move it to noon and move Det/Minny to 325 (remaining options for 325 would be Jags/Bucs, Bears/Cards and Pats/Broncos – should they drop it to 325) not a great slate of games for Christmas Eve Afternoon – which the NFL considers primetime. Moving Det/Minny to 325 would at least give them a feature game.
Think it depends. We need to have better offensive production than 10 and 3 points. After the Bears game, a lot of national talk about a “crap game.” Can’t imagine what was said after 3-0.
I agree we’re not exactly a primetime worthy team by any measure – but the Detroit game has more riding on it, even with a loss to Cincy, than the other games listed do. Jags/Bucs has some intrigue as both teams are very much in the hunt. I just think a divisional game would get the nod. Maybe not.

He played QB at Nebraska back in the 00’s, never made it in the NFL so he became a coach and is the Cin. HC now.
One of the toughest QB’s to ever play at NU. Played during the Callahan years – terrible offensive lines and he was constantly getting picked up off the ground. One of the few bright spots from that era as a lifelong Husker fan.

I know because I had nieces and nephews that I was co-parenting that were of an age that we wanted to encourage to read, HP and SW were the easiest/best for that at the time.

I have a life time of experience, some education and a bit of common sense. So they will never be able to convince me that a man can have babies no matter what their feelings tell them. So arguing about it infinitum is a waste of air, not to mention bad for my blood pressure.

Agreed. I don’t think it’s any secret that Hollywood or the entertainment industry is left-leaning in general. It doesn’t stop me from watching movies or enjoying music from all genres/walks of life. And I identify as neither liberal nor conservative. I think people get cornered in these ways and many times party stances are not reflective of various individuals who identify with one particular party or the other. Too many people, too many issues for them all to fit inside of 2 or 3 boxes.

Hollywood has been left leaning since it started. Part of that comes with the “entertaining” mindset.
People do identify differently. My father almost starved in the depression and believed FDR saved his family, thus he voted democrat.
Yet, he didn’t believe in gun control, didn’t believe in abortion. thought unemployment should stop at 12 weeks (period). Strong defense etc.
I can relate.
My mom is a strong Catholic, goes to church every Sunday and follows the teachings as closely as possible.
So when I asked if she was anti-abortion she said ‘of course’. Then I asked why then would she only support/vote for people (Dems) who support abortion in all its forms.
She gave me the perfect Liberal answer of all time.

The fix and the solution is to not have a political identity that you adhere to. Are you kidding me? Have I not been obvious enough about that? One of the best fixes is to not always seek echo chambers in your life and to not identify with party lines that dictate your thinking.

I have changed my stance so many times based on other people swaying with good data and reasoning etc… So I just really value open dialogues which don’t happen in echo chambers. I hate echo chambers and this place keeps getting more and more echo-y. So it’s more of a fight against that.

It had a rotten tomatoes score of around 60 last I checked, which isn’t terrible, isn’t great, but certainly isn’t respective of the audience score of 99 or 250 million at the box office. It seems like the most negative people screamed the loudest and of course for political biases. Some hated it, most reviews were in the good not great range, and some loved it. However it appears those that watched it loved it.
I’ll be honest, I get tired of some of that agenda pushing as well as cowing down to China at times as well. Also I have no idea the answer to your question. I don’t really care tbh. I watch and either like the movie or I don’t. I don’t really get up in arms about movies like I do music lol.

But daily there are usually multiple things pointing out crap with the left… Again my defense is not that the left doesn’t deserve it, fuck that trash party with their rigged systems in place. But, when stuff gets to be very one sided when the other side also has plenty wrong with them it’s an issue in my mind. One of the biggest issues in our country that breeds corruption. Unlike Dobby, Browning has been getting better every start. This is concerning. My thought was that as teams get tape on him they could take away the things he does well – like defenses started doing with Dobby, keep your rush wide and keep him in the pocket – but that doesn’t seem to have happened.
The Bungals just haven’t face a defense as talented and well coached as the Vikings yet.

we are extremely well coached on defense, not sure where I would rank us “talent-wise” though…If we had a lot of talent we would have overcome the shitty coaching last year.
It’s nice to see guys develop and make plays. Wonnum, Metellus and Pace all were late round or UDFA and have turned into pretty decent players making plays. Metellus’s impact in particular in forcing turnovers and Pace has really started to come on – he’s got the green dot now, so Flores must trust him.

Had an interesting work issue yesterday….we are in the process of switching 401k vendors, the new company just finished the process of mapping all of our investments from the old company into matching accounts in the new portfolio.
I logged in to check my account balance at the end of the day after the process was complete and I was missing $200,000+….so I emailed the rep late yesterday and said WTF??? He got back to me and indicated they had evidently missed transitioning our real estate investment accounts. I checked this morning ant the money isn’t there yet…I won’t feel good until it is.
I guess if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it, probably should have just stayed with our original company.
For $200k I’d make another call.
I’d be calling/emailing daily for a week and then ramp it up to hourly until every dime is back in that account. Guy works his ass off for years and stays loyal – it isn’t too much to ask that they don’t fuck around with your money….

My wife is notoriously budget conscious (i.e. cheap) when it comes to clothes but our daughters love Lululemon and my wife is happy to buy them for them because they last forever. And I don’t mind because it’s proven to be true.

Not just the middle of the field either. His off target screen pass to Mattison was bad too and you could argue Dobbs contributed to both JJ and Mattison getting injured on their respective plays.

I,agree. Given our offense scheme and WR talent, it never made sense to me the Dobbs type pickup. Maybe he was always going to be the backup/ insurance in Mullens got hurt.
There were…. And he was. The drops weren’t helping him for sure. Neither were the balls thrown high and wide, which was most of them. Also clearly missing reads and not taking shots that KOC that he should make & take. Dobbs was awful. Appreciate the 2 wins he got us, and the win in ATL was huge considering how new he was, but he’s been awful since the Saints game.

I think the receivers lack of confidence in him, especially after watching JJ almost get murdered, significantly contributed to the drops. After watching JJ get cut in 2, I’d be watching the defenders out of the corner of my eye as well.

True, but I think the bigger issues for receivers was the play BSF showed a day or so ago. Great playcall again the defense. man coverage no safety over the top and WR is wide open for like an80 yard TD. Ball wasn’t even thrown.
That will piss receivers and coaches off. And there are a lot of those. type plays.
I think the missed opportunities/reads are the biggest issue, even more so than his lack of accuracy.

I think that’s a huge part of it. KOC sticks with Dobbs when the media and fans are calling for him to be benched and gets rewarded by a QB who won’t pull the trigger on designed shot plays when it’s there.
Just run the offense. Bengals backup doesn’t run their’s as well as Burrows does, but he gets the ball to his playmakers enough for them to still win games.

oh yeah, I’m fully versed on all of that stuff. I know nothing about this exchange, what it entails, or anything about it. I’ve been using cobra through the end of the year, since we were already on our out-of-pocket maximum for the year.

but i had a non-embedded plan last year and so i had to pay the full family deductible rather than my own deductible. when i asked the person at my work in charge of the health insurance plans etc why i kept getting billed after i had paid enough to hit my deductible, she researched and found out we are all on a non-embedded, which SHE HERSELF DIDN”T KNOW THE DIFFERENCE along with me since we have always had embdedded. So i forked out an extra 4k from HSA. thanks so much company i work for….

Question – I’ve been optimistic all year, even after 0 – 3 start. But man, those last two games were so poor from an offensive standpoint. You just have to be able to score (some) in the NFL.

Yeah, Lions defense was playing well earlier in the year, don’t know if its injuries but they haven’t been good lately. I still don’t think the Vikings end up winning the division but its not impossible. Packers likely go 2-2 down the stretch one way or another. Its crazy, there are six teams in the AFC sitting at 7-6 and six teams in the NFC sitting at 6-7. My guess is the Vikings are one WC team and either the Rams or Falcons in the other.
