Thread Guidelines

  • Keep politics out. We are adults, news happens, and we can talk about it. What we don’t want is to go down the rabbit holes and turn a productive conversation into name calling and personal attacks.
  • Be cool to one another. Like it says above, just be civil. You don’t need to agree with everyone and that’s fine, you also don’t need to make it personal. Attack the argument not the poster.
  • Keep the NSFW to a minimum. We don’t need anyone getting in trouble at work for hanging out here.
  • All in all, be adults. Treat each other with respect and things will be fine. Mods will take out content they feel is pushing the boundary. If you want to reach out about something feel free to ask. We want to have robust discussions, that’s why we’re here. Just be civil and cool to one another.

Be careful everyone. Brad is going to start an exit tax. The only way you can leave the Skoloholics is to buy your way out. Kind of sounds like the Mafia or California, not that there is much difference between the Mafia and California.

Well they care about the feelings of those who agree with them, the rest are just deplorable so they get whatever they get.

Therefore per the ‘experts’ in those things he has no choice but to be racist.
Ergo he is racist.

Oh he’s a racist old fart as much as any old fart from that era. Just like Biden. Just like most of our grandpa’s. That’s my point with Trump. Difference is Biden has literally legislated his racist BS. If you can’t even see that side of Trump then you really are brain washed. I’m not saying he truly thinks whites are better than blacks but I’d bet everything I own he’s believed in some racist stereotypes just like most old guys his age. That’s why I say he’s your typical racist old man. Not that he’s a flat our racist.

I swear, Trump could get caught literally little red handed and you’d all be like, “nope red’s not a real color, Trump said it wasn’t, so it’s not and if red isn’t a color how could he be caught red handed?” 🤣

I remember some DEI advocate was testifying in front some committee and made the comment that all people are racist.
So a Senator, think it was Tom Cotton, asked her who she was racist against if that was true, She spent the rest of his 5 minutes ducking and dodging the question.

Even gave the example of racist things I tell Dems that Trump said and get them angry and then tell them it was Biden. It’s the talking points one side REPEATS over and over that I fight to show the other side does it too. It just so happens this area of the internet is a Red echo chamber so that’s the one sided and blind narrative I fight around these parts more so than what I try to get across to my dumb dumb dem friends lol.

Broke up the monotony of my runs last weekend. Had only been doing 5Ks for about 2 weeks. Saturday did my fastest 2 mile ever, 9:15 average mile pace. Then Sunday, I wanted to do my furthest run. Which anytime I up the distance I do a very slow pace haha but I did 3.5 miles.

Band has it’s first gig Friday. Little social media promo from practice on Sunday we put out.

Helped me get to Marathon distance. 4hr 11m but the first 8 minutes didn’t count as it took me 8m to get to the starting line due to the 22k morons in front of me. Berlin 1991, yes I am old but that just equals more good war-stories.

Yeah I can see that.
Being in the Army at the time and being forced to run a lot made it easier.
I started training for a 2nd one with a co-worker who wanted to do the Oprah Winfrey Marathon in ’94 and I couldn’t keep it up. I just had zero interest in being that uncomfortable for that long.
The Army still had me running constantly but the pull of Berlin in ’91 after being stationed there in the early 80s with the wall still up wasn’t there. Plus ‘marathon’ had already been taken off my bucket list.

The stories you hear about the wall don’t come close.

The West Berliners would put a white cross up on the wall for every person who got shot by East Germans when they tried to cross at the point they died.

There were portions of the wall that were covered by dozens of white crosses.

*Disclaimer: I don’t like watching Parker Valby for any creepy reasons. I simply admire her dominant, Terminator-like approach to racing. I also like to watch Jacob Ingebritsen for the same reason. I’m curious how he will return from injury. Think Josh Kerr will take him later this month at Prefontaine.

What a great time to get out of Calif.
They are adding a ‘Carbon Tax’ to gas that will increase the price about 50c a gallon.
It is already the highest in the nation currently.
Great way to drive people out of gas vehicles and into EVs since common sense it’s working for them.

I’ve probably mentioned before, but a great neurologist worked at my shop for a couple of years, I reviewed dozens of cases with him. His wife had a good job with 3M, could do a lot of work from home in Billings.

They moved to Santa Barbara after Billings. He came back and did a week of locums about a year later, said that they had saved zero dollars since moving, it took both their salaries to pay the mortgage, etc.

Same reason I’d never move to Bozeman. Easily 5x the cost of living there, combination of home prices and keeping up with the Joneses.

Something I thought you guys would find interesting.

Quincy Jones said That the Beatles were ‘The worst musicians in the World’.

Now this guy breaks down a lot of music and it is easy to fall down the Rabbit Hole with his Videos (his breakdown of Bobby Hatfield’s Unchained Melody is a much watch IMHO). He breaks down both sides of the discussion, it is about 12m long.

Of course we all know Civilization would not exist without the Beatles.

Nobody ever said they were the best musicians ever… They were though without question one of if not the most influential band of the last 100 years. It’s just like Kurt Cobain was not a great guitarist, Yngwie Malmsteen could wipe the floor from a technical standpoint of almost any guitarist you put out there… yet almost everyone can hum some Nirvana guitar parts and almost nobody knows anything from Yngwie. BTW one time Sir Paul was asked one time if Ringo was the best drummer in the world and his reply was, “He’s not even the best drummer in the Beatles” ha!

Sounds like Kwesi is at least pushing for something to be done.
I doubt much happens though.

Well, last weekend, Pioneer Press‘ Charley Walters claimed the Vikings were right in the mix monitoring and appealing TamperingGate. Walters explained, “There’s whispering that the Vikings have strongly appealed a Falcons tampering charge in the signing of Kirk Cousins that’s expected to end up in arbitration.”

Before the Walters reporting, many believed the Falcons would ultimately be docked a draft pick or something of the sort, and that would be that. However, if Minnesota is “strongly appealing” the fiasco, perhaps it legitimately believes it could achieve an extra pick or at least a pick swap.

I think in the Matrix he was given a choice between 2 pills. One that would keep him in the dark and one that would open his eyes to the truth about the Matrix. So, being “JJ-Pilled” means he has had his eyes opened to the truth that JJ is going to be a stud and will bring multiple trophies to MN.

You do not get rid of the best WR in the league when you have a rookie QB. After JJ proves himself, then maybe you move him in 4 years, but Jets and JJ may be happy to work deals that keep them both on the team too so they can go after their 3rd SB ring together.

We still walk – just a short walk in the morning and I take him for a longer one at night. Still gonna hit the dog park on the weekends so he can run.

Sometimes. He’s much older and smaller and it’s hard for him to keep up. Usually when I walk him and Goose at the same time (rare) I’ll have to pick up and carry Marls about halfway thru

Pretty much – lots of little details regarding who can park what where and when. Violations, appeals, illegal/fraudulent permits. P&T brought in almost 7 million dollars revenue in violation money alone last year. Almost 12 million in total revenue after including event parking.

A decent chunk of change especially considering not a lot of outlay to rake it in.

I’ve learned in the last few days that P&T is self sufficient. We get zero funding from the university – that’s why every parking space available on campus (and some off but nearby) have a charge on them. No such thing as free parking.

I hate that about Vegas now a days, almost no ‘free parking’ even at casino’s.

Last time we went they added parking as a ‘free perk’ when they ‘upgraded our room’ to a smaller one.
