Whew, that was close. Dalvin Cook finally found a new home, at least for one year, and he’ll be co-habitating with A-a-ron and playing in New Jersey for the Jets. On paper, the Jets appear to be a very strong team. Then again, A-a-ron is 130 years old and is 3/4 insane. Who knows what’ll happen. It should be entertaining at the very least.
As far as our new moderation goes, I really doubt anyone is going to notice a difference. We’re not going to become Nazis or anything, we’re just going to remove comments that may devolve the conversations, so there’s really not much to worry about. I guess you’ll just have to trust our judgement, and to be honest, we’re more laid back than most any mod you’re going to find.

Minnesota Vikings News:
Dalvin Cook signed a one-year deal with the New York Jets, according to CBS Sports. I still haven’t seen all the details, including guaranteed money, but the deal is reportedly worth $7 million.
The Star-Tribune thinks that the Vikings should say no to Kareem Hunt, even though they need depth at RB.
From Vikings.com, Ty Chandler finds harmony in training horses and in country settings. My kind of dude there. Also, the Vikings signed Chim Okorafor and waived Jacky Chen. Man, you’d think it would be helpful to have a martial artist actor on the roster, but I guess they thought differently.
T.J. Hockenson took part in practice yesterday, and has reportedly missed much of camp due to an ear infection, according to ESPN. Hmmmmm, call me cynical, but I think the contract has more to do with it than an ear infection. Meh, whatever they want to say, I suppose.
ESPN ranks the top 10 quarterbacks by specific traits. This is an interesting read, I don’t agree with all of it, but it’s an interesting subject to explore.

You gear heads need to check out Liqui Moly oil if you haven’t already. I first tried it about 4 or 5 months ago, changed my wife’s Outback oil and used it. Well the odd thing, she’s put probably 2k miles on it since and when I check the oil it literally is still clear with the light ting of yellow like when you first put it in and check the level. It hasn’t worn AT ALL. I was always reading comments about it on gear head blogs saying the same about how great it is and when mechanics find out someone uses it they say that guy knows what the good oil is. Anyway…I’m in the process of switching all my engines, small and large, to it and can’t say enough how good it seems to be.

Lifer, with your carbon credits experience, curious on how something would work. Let’s say I had a system that would scrub CO2 and I hook it up to a plant or facility of some kind, effectively cutting their emissions in half. As a private, separate entity, I should be able to get carbon credits for the CO2 I have removed, right? Could I then sell those credits to the same plant/company, therefore technically offsetting their remaining carbon emissions and making them carbon neutral?
You could. They (carbon credits) have to be certified, mean the process inspected, volume capture capacity and certified by an approved vendor or broker that sales them on the carbon credit market. I have a company in Vermont that does this if you need assistance. Scale of the project matters can’t be small beans. It starts with a conversation with an engineer who does feasibility studies.
Oh, this is all hypothetical brain wheel turning. Carbon credits came up in a meeting about something completely unrelated the day after you talked about it. I’m working from my patio today and the wheels got rolling. In my extremely hypothetical thought, the scale would be large, but if you introduce an outside entity to the carbon reduction, with a functioning system, you could have power plants and refineries for example to “carbon neutral”. The real reduction would be 50%, but for a power plant owner to say they are “carbon neutral” I think would be a pretty good thing for them while also being able to show a substantial actual reduction and working towards further reductions while simultaneously producing biofuels that would offset fossil fuel use. Like I said, I have 0 experience, knowledge or plans on anything, just me at the end of a hot day going through crazy ideas. With that being said, if you hear about someone starting a CO2 cleaning business called BowBunch Industries based in Montana, don’t ask any questions.
Brad and you quitting your jobs has motivated me to find a money making scheme to retire early. Gotta figure out a way to be one of those evil millionaires that doesn’t pay their fair share in taxes. Hell, maybe in 10 or 20 years I’ll run for office.

Hell yeah. I might know a source or 2 around Billings for CO2 and other emissions. Time for some testing. I’ve actually watched some videos on a couple of methods similar to what I have envisioned, but I think they have a couple of fatal flaws that a university professor or student wouldn’t realize. Time to order some algae, do some small scale testing, calculate the Cost/Benefit of up scaling it and then I’ll save the world. I’ll invite ya over when Greta comes by to thank me. I’m predicting a Presidential Medal within 10 years.

When I was running a large healthcare company in MI, where Amway is from, good god those MI are the most business oriented people second to Mormons I’ve ever met. There were more pyramid schemes running, I went to few meetings my in-laws dragged me too for another household food and cleaning products scheme that was sweeping MI. Basically you buy all your household goods from their company, sign up other people you get a cut of their spend and if they sign people up you get a percentage of that and so on. Well it grew pretty big, some that got in early where making some residual coin, thinking about retiring early and then the whole damn thing imploded with the owners embezzled a bunch of the profits. Needless to say I didn’t sign up but knew that was coming.
Ya, I went to a meeting or two. Not for me, I didn’t buy into the sales pitch. That MLM shit is for the birds.
