According to Vegas, the Vikings are favored in only 3 games, Colts, Titans, and Cardinals, based mostly on the fact they are running out a guy at QB with nearly a 1:1 TD to Int ratio and under 60% completion percentage, or a 21 year old rookie who has potential but rookies are rookies. There are plenty of games where they are a minor underdog that they very well may win and the odds will change as the season goes along, but as of now, Vegas is not impressed with the Vikings. What’s weird to me is the Vikings are underdogs in every single divisional game, its incredibly rare for a team to be swept in the division. Apparently Vegas hates the Vikings QB situation that bad though.

The PGA Championship starts tomorrow. Tiger tees off at 8:04 a.m. Playing at Valhalla in Louisville Kentucky.
If there’s wet rough (and deep) believe Tiger will play worse than he did at Masters.
So will every other golfer though. Tiger didn’t play terribly, he just missed a lot of putts starting on Saturday. I think he still has the game to play tournament golf.
I really don’t. He got thru first two rounds at Masters because he got up and down like 15 out of 16 times. No way he or anyone can do that on a PGA (or Open) set up with high rough around greens.
It doesn’t affect other golfers as much simply because they hit more greens in regulation.
Give you he can still putt but you can onlt put so much pressure on your putter an d survive.
I think he hit plenty of fairways and greens at Augusta. He just started missing 6 footers (and shorter) a lot on the weekend. I agree he got up and down well the first two days, but he always has. His short game has been a strength for most of his career. I expect him to make the cut at the PGA, and do pretty well in the tournament overall. We’ll see.

Hunted my MIL place for almost 40 yrs as my inlaws did prior. Had a hand shake agreement, back when that meant something, that fam would always be able to hunt adjoining property, 1000’s of acres private, but also 1000’s of state and USFS. Well some out of state big money bullies bought it, locked us out and bought other strategic sections to close off the public land unless one corner crosses which is a legal grey area. The agreement had to do with an easement through MIL’s for specific use which is delineated in writing. They are violating the specific use agreement according to us. They told my MIL to pound sand, they’ll use the easement “however the fu#* we want”.
Our lawyer said cost $50k with a 50/50 chance of winning. These are big money people, donated $100M to one of the State Universities. Get this, they made their money in insurance business. Now I know why my premiums keep going up. Man this state is changing.

Agreed. Guy in Wyoming has posted plans on a corner cross ladder that is aluminum and articulates. My buddy is an expert welder of aluminum and my son a land surveyor has already found all the corner markers.

Picture a checker board, red squares private land, black public. Where the black corners meet one could step from a section of public land to another section of public land with out ever setting foot on the adjoining red, private land. Currently not legal or at least defined in MT. Read an article yesterday that there are over 8 million acres of public land tied up in western states like this.
That makes it easier to visualize.

It seems anytime big money (big city) people buy rural property, they are always jerks. Years ago some Chicago maroon bought land next to my in laws. They put up big fences and then during deer season, they actually had people sit in the woods to make sure no one came onto their land. Total tools.
Up in the northwoods, we have one of Jack Link’s asshat kids trying to buy up a lake. The whole lake.
He owns hunting land that the NE corner touches the SW corner of my 40. I feel dirty whenever I’m close to that corner.

It is variable, generally runs from after the honeymoon with special seasons around Christmas and other family gatherings.

Both could be legit teams but beatable in the early part of the season – especially with shorter preseason and less games.
Because of shorter preseason and personnel turnover I’m more concerned about us early in the season.
That’s fair – for whatever reason, I’m not concerned. I think we have a good young nucleus to build around. I think this season is shaping up to be a lot of fun. Most pundits picking is to finish 3rd or worse in the division. Expectations are low.

I don’t know if any of you healthy types are into kefir, but I have to say I have acquired a taste for it. We almost always have a jug of milk fermenting on the counter and a couple of bottles of completed kefir in the fridge. I dote upon my little kefir grain cultures.
I swear it has cut down on my farts by an order of magnitude, plus they no longer have any odor.
Took me awhile to tolerate the taste, now it tastes just fine to me.

Wife bought me a Mendo Mulcher grinder a few years ago – and I love it. Pretty large keef catch. I’ll dump it into a Pyrex and sprinkle on bowls (when I use glass) or I like to sprinkle some in the cones that I use. Have used it to make brownies before once but it was kind of a waste. Occasionally (maybe once a year) I’ll break out my little 1-foot bubbler and smoke a keef bowl (last year on my birthday) – can’t handle those like I used to.

I should get some Kefir at work. Someone has been destroying the bathroom on a daily basis for the past week. The smell has incredible staying power. I open the door to go number one, say, “nope,” come back an hour later, and it is still gag-worthy.

I don’t know what that person has been eating. Maybe demons.
There was a guy on my dorm floor first year of college, let’s call him Wade, that had the foulest stench in the bathroom of any living human. In fact, I would think he was undead but I see he is still a practicing pharmacist in the Okanagan valley. We had two stalls and it wasn’t uncommon to strike up a conversation with the guy or gal in the next stall if someone came in while one was reading, but if it was him I would zip up trou and GTFO. Stench clung for an hour, I would usually go down to one of the girl’s restrooms and see if they were vacant rather than use the guys.

Oilers knotted the series at 2 games apiece last night. Now it is down to a 3 game series with Vancouver having home ice advantage. Edmonton really needs to put it all on the line tomorrow night in Vancouver, can play much looser coming back home up 3-2. If they lose tomorrow they will lose the series. If they win they will win the series on Saturday at home, simple as that.
I’m not sure either team has the depth to carry the Cup. Of the two I favor Edmonton to do it…but Vancouver checks all the boxes as a team built to defeat the Oilers.
Man I would love to see some good old fashioned playoff hockey tomorrow, big hits and pressure by the third and fourth lines.

QotD: I believe it will be coaching. Like in the past, if we have a bad week of running, due to run blocking, the coaches will emphasize run blocking the next week. Then will have issues with the passing game, due to all of the extra effort put on run blocking. Now we can’t pass block.
Same with defense; we will have issues in coverage, so we will emphasize DB play and rushing the passer, and then we won’t be able to stop the run.
And then special teams will fail at the most opportune times costing us a game or two.
More a talent issue than coaching, the IOL sucks.

I have found myself doing this occasionally, but I try not to.
Sometimes there is just one point of contention though and that is the point I want to make not argue the entire blob of stuff that they are slinging against the wall.

Pretty east to tell who’s the honest brokers and who’s the spin/bs artists.
We all have opinions, it is easier to see others opinions as BS/Spin.
I have also heard my own logical conclusions referred to here as ‘MAGA talking points’.
So evidently you can’t have views that corresponds with a certain Orange Haired Man because that just proves you are brainwashed.
Some self reflection is a good thing since when you point a finger 3 are pointed back at you.
Does seem the rules go out the window when talking about a certain QB and a former President.
And for the most part honest brokers don’t pull random phrases out of context and then spin their narrative.
The argument about a ‘certain QB’ seem almost like habit to me. Kind of like you get between the old people at a family reunion.
The Presidential one just seems like people want to believe what they want to believe and anything else be damned.
I can see both sides of an argument, examine it using my own logic, knowledge, and experences and make my own decision what to believe or support.
Both sides are wrong sometimes, but I believe (like you do) that I can tell the difference.

It’s been like that for a few years. Nobody took advantage of it until about 3 years ago though. Teams just automatically took the bye thinking that was best for their team.

I just call it Wed-Nes-Day so that I can remember to spell it.

Yup, I listened to a couple of courses from The Teaching Company on my commute to and from work.
The reason we have so many seeming strange spellings in English is because we ‘borrowed’ so many words from other languages. The spelling often comes from that original language.

I have heard that dyslexics are better at assembling 3-D projects in their mind, like they don’t need no stinking instructions, instead they can glance at a carburetor disassembled and put it back together by instinct. That true?

I am not mechanically gifted, struggle with it in fact. So if that is true I didn’t get that gene.
I am good at visualizing things, just not mechanical things. Although I can change a tire or a battery pretty well.

I normally get up around 5:30,but Tuesdays and Thursdays I have meetings with Europe at 4 a.m. This morning I awoke at 5 a.m. and just got up.
