Vikings-Bears Recap
Man, that wasn’t a very pretty win. However, the Vikings DID get their second win of the season against the Bears…..on the road…..at Soldier Field. Any win against the Bears in Chicago is a good win, so there is reason to be happy today if you’re a Vikings fan.
When I said it wasn’t a pretty win, I was referring mainly to the Vikings offense. Holy cow, was that friggin’ ugly. The team finished with 220 total yards, 174 passing and 46 rushing. Yes, they missed JJ, but there was no reason to sputter and spit like the offense did yesterday. Hockenson added to his dropped passes stats again, as he dropped two catchable balls. Were they easy catches? No, but the highest paid tight end in the league should catch them. He led the team with 50 receiving yards. Mattison rushed the ball 18 times for 44 yards, a whopping 2.5 yards per carry. I’m still not sure why we aren’t seeing more Kam Akers, he had one rush for 8 yards. I just don’t think Mattison is a feature back, he’s a solid RB2.
The lone bright spot for the Vikings offense was a great TD throw from Cousins to Addison. That play was somewhat tarnished when on the following PAT, the Bears blocked it. Joseph also racked up his first missed FG of the year when he missed from 57. All in all, the Vikings offense was ugly to watch.
Twitter sized offense recap: The passers weren’t passing very well, the catchers weren’t catching well, and the runners weren’t running very well.
It’s been a long time since a Vikings fan has said this, but thank God for our defense. The defense scored as many touchdowns as the offense did yesterday. Jordan Hicks and Danielle Hunter both had phenomenal games. Hicks scooped and scored a touchdown in the third, and caught a Justin Fields interception. Byron Murphy all but sealed the game with an interception toward the end of the 4th. He fumbled at the end of the play, but thankfully, he recovered it himself.
There were a few REALLY bad calls in this game. Then I watched the end of the 49ers-Browns game after this game. Seeing the calls in both games convinces me further that the NFL instructs officals to keep games close and/or try to affect a game in one way or another. I’m not saying it’s rigged, but……..Things that make you go “hmmmm”.
Here’s a thought. The Vikings could conceivably beat the 49ers next week. I mean, they almost beat the Chiefs, so why not? If……IF they do beat the Niners, they have four very winnable games after that. I’m not saying it’ll happen, but one never knows!

We don’t get to play this song enough this year. STRIKE UP THE BAND!!!!!!
Minnesota Vikings Discussion Topic of the Day
The Vikings offense continues to be sluggish, especially the running game. What can the Vikings do differently in order to estabnlish a running game?

Aaron Rodgers threw in warmups without crutches yesterday, per ESPN. You might as well start cheering for him, you KNOW he’ll be the Vikings’ QB in 2024, it’s the natural order of things.
From NFL.com, Jimmy Garoppollo was taken to the hospital with a back injury and will be out against the Pats next week, and Christian McCaffrey suffered an oblique injury against the Browns.
Thread Guidelines
- Keep politics out. We are adults, news happens, and we can talk about it. What we don’t want is to go down the rabbit holes and turn a productive conversation into name calling and personal attacks.
- Be cool to one another. Like it says above, just be civil. You don’t need to agree with everyone and that’s fine, you also don’t need to make it personal. Attack the argument not the poster.
- Keep the NSFW to a minimum. We don’t need anyone getting in trouble at work for hanging out here.
- All in all, be adults. Treat each other with respect and things will be fine. Mods will take out content they feel is pushing the boundary. If you want to reach out about something feel free to ask. We want to have robust discussions, that’s why we’re here. Just be civil and cool to one another.
Good morning, SKOL!
FTP!
It’s Tuesday.
Chargers Cowboys could be a fun game tonight. I’m sure I will end up reading a book with it on in the background however.
I’ll be watching – Ekeler and Keenan Allen on a fantasy squad with the game in doubt. Should be fun.
Thats why I like fantasy, keeps me engaged in otherwise games I wouldn’t care about or when the Vikings are boring and out of it.
Same. I’d watch regardless as I just love football, but fantasy makes the mundane, meaningless game carry enough weight to make it fun – but again, I’d still watch. I’d rather watch ugly, bad football than no football.
This is for everyone today.
Is it pure??
How much does it weigh??
while i definitely don’t believe this…
it would be AMAZING if NLNVF has us all believing he’s some international man of mystery…
and he’s actually in his mom’s basement just messing around this whole time.
It’s called dedication to the illusion.

the prestige is a GREAT movie
OK guys… gotta drop off now. Don’t know when my next transmission will be. Take care and SKOL!
Praying for you, and everyone else over there.
Stay safe mystery man.
All, I’m fine, just very engaged with world events. I’m not in the U.S. at the moment. Won’t be on much as you might imagine. Glad the Vikings won, and I do think they can beat the Niners if KOC pulls his head out of his ass on offense. He has yet to accept the fact that his genius system sucks.
Good to hear.
Thanks Bow. Definitely not a fun place to be hanging out right now, but I’m safe.
Good to hear from you!!!
Thanks. Let’s go kick the Niners butt!
I am with you there man! Let’s get er done!
Stay safe, NVF. Get back home soon.
Thanks. Dunno how long I’ll be here. Wife is NOT pleased.
Nice to see you NVF.
Thanks VP… appreciate the support.
Good to see you.
Thanks… crazy days (and nights).
Keep up the good work.
Thanks. Back in a damn shooting war… again.
Make sure you dodge those rockets.
Oh and keep a look out for motorized gliders.
Thanks. This is ugly.
Wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy.
Glad to hear you are fine! Take care and all the best.
Thanks JR. The wife ain’t exactly happy with me right now.
Tell her it is easier to avoid the rich/high end/gouger food where you are.
@that will make her feel better@
She’ll get over it when you get safely home. Just watch your six!
Hope you’re well, thought of you the other day when my FIL deployed to that air force base overseas in the middle east you had mentioned (I still can’t remember the name of it).
i also miss fil
He had lots of decent takes.
Yeah, me too
fil is one of the good guys, supavike too
Al Udeid Air Base… helped establish it back in the day.
Yeah, that’s the one!
This guy… using world events to not have to watch the Vikings melt down this year! I’m kidding of course. Like others have said stay safe man.
Made me laugh Edge… thanks. Humor is good. Appreciate you!
i’m not even going to ask ANYTHING for fear of learning too much and thus needing to be killed.
I’m not gonna say anything either. Thanks freeze!
thanks for checking in with your 2nd family. or 3rd family.
or distant annoying relatives, whatever you want to call us.
All of thee above I suspect.
Welcome back……
Thanks DE, I have a little time before hitting the sack and just wanted to let folks know I’m not gonna be around much. Internet here is sketchy at best.
Tell Hamas they need to upgrade the WiFi in those tunnels.
Get Elon to move some Starlink satellites into place.
Not a bad idea
Lots of Starlink use these days.
They deployed you to Montanna??
I choked on my drink reading this.
Good Job!!
Yes! You guessed it! I’m in Montana. Grin. Made laugh Rube. Many thanks!
Like others have said, really appreciate what you do.
Stay safe.
Still better than Philadelphia!
JRobert are you in Philly? I lose track.
No, I live in Florida. Was thinking of the line Reagan said when he got shot.
Thanks for the update and for your service. Stay safe out there.
Kathy, many thanks. I’ll keep my head down. All will be well.
Are you in California?
chiraq
Ouch.
They should wait til we get to Idaho.
Don’t want to be an Illegal Alien sneaking across the border.
I only kid. I lived out in Monterey in the early 90s, it was beautiful out there.
Sweet – I lived at the Presidio ’86-’87, then again in ’91.
Good to see you, by the way. I hope all is going well, sounds like you’re busy.
Public Service Announcement.
Those of you living in Calif today is the last day to file your 2022 Federal and State Taxes.
Just got back from the Post Office myself.
Well….that’s the rule for all taxpayers in any state.
Automatic 6 month extension deadline is today.
The whole state was extended.
After the floods they gave it to everyone.
We found out in Late March when The Teachers tax preparer used that as an excuse as to why her returns were not ready.
Hamas apparently now wants a ceasefire.
I wonder why?
I am going to go out on a limb and say its because they are about to get their assess handed to them in a big way.
Poked the bear…..lost their stick.
I like it.
they don’t want to be wiped off the face of the earth?
This is the right answer
Nobody told them that the line in their edict about going to war with the Jews could have an outcome other than all of the Jews be killed.
It seems to have been a miscalculation on their end..
I just hope we don’t go soft and start trying to tell Israel to take it easy.
I disagree with that.
They are doing exactly what they were planning to do.
Kill Jews. Then backtrack because they know Israel will over power them. And then the UN and the world will forget about their evil and blame Israel.
It’s been going on for 75 years.
True.
Absolutely correct. And Israel should say screw the UN and destroy them.
Iran said you are on your own…
They found out Pizza Hut was about to push an ad campaign supporting them, and they realized Pizza Hut sucks and is a dying company.
“Here at Pizza Hut, we stand with Hamas, show us your pro Hamas twitter posts and you get a free side order of Wings”
Ha!
the pentagon couldn’t come up with any more “accounting errors” to send??
Everyone is a winner !!
Unsolicited attack and atrocities, now they want to call it a day.
Have they released the hostages yet or do they get to keep them?
Heck they are still sending rockets daily.
Blinken had to go into a bomb shelter today. Great choice there Hamas. Send rockets at a US diplomat. That should end well for you.
I heard we are deploying a 2nd carrier group to the middle east….
Is it tranny approved?
I am sure the bathrooms are all gender neutral.
At my Portland conference I ran into that.
The lady leading the conference was like “The restrooms are not labeled by gender, but they are labeled ‘With Urinals’ or ‘Without Urinals’ so everyone can use the restroom they are most comfortable with”
I wanted to say “How about if you have the equipment to use the ‘With Urinals’ bathroom than you use that one, and if you don’t have the equipment than you should use the other one”
Instead I just smiled and waved….
LOL…
I thought I was joking.
Portland is a sewage plant and that is saying it nicely.
I just shit in the urinals and call it a day.
They saw the lasers that Israel is getting ready to unleash and realized they done f’ed up.
This might have changed their mind a little as well.
Sharks with laser beams attached to their heads.
Lol….
So the Woke will side with them when Israel refuses.
FT9ers. Think got a little dinged yesterday, including McCaffrey and Williams. Doubt we win, prob smoked on prime time.
Shocking… a Vikings forum where the hawt takes are there we lose… #Morbo
If McCaffrey can’t go that helps, dude is pretty good.
About the only RB worth a high end contract.
They are pissed they lost on a missed field goal, they are gonna take that out on our not so great roster. I expect an ass whoopin
Not gonna lie, this worry is exactly why I was hoping they won yesterday lol.
I think they’ll win and it’ll never be in serious doubt but not a blowout, especially if Deebo and McCaffrey don’t play.
27 – 10
That would be one heck of an upset if the Vikings beat them that bad.
Wow!! KFEY calling for the big upset!!
curious what some of your opinions would be….
mrs freeze and i enjoy having people over from time to time for dinner and hanging out.
what is the appropriate amount of time to hangout at someones house that has you over for dinner without it becoming “overstaying our welcome”?
we have noticed it’s VERY different for different couples, some buzz out around 7, some stay until 10.
I would say like 5:00-8:00 or 6:00-9:00. 3 hours-ish is probably limit to me.
i think 3 hours is a good amount of time as well, good or bad times, 3 is my go to.
3.5 hours is the high end, anything less than 2.25 hours is a little rude.
This is my subjective opinion.
Depends on how the evening is going.
Sometimes the host likes lively discussions and they prompt/encourage them to continue.
Sometimes they are done and starting ‘cleaning up’, always a good hint.
Though for T-day/Christmas/etc the family helps us clean up and the discussions continue, and then the board/card games come out. Some leave and some stay and participate.
Hopefully a good time is had by all.
yes we will pull out a board game or two if things are going good.
bonfires are always fun too.
What do you if the night is sucking?
Say good bye and tell them….
typically suck it up….
i have some friends who aren’t much for small talk…..still want to be in their lives though, don’t like board games or card games etc…
makes it pretty tough.
I have a good buddy who hates visiting & “hanging out”. Whenever we’re together, we’re either kayaking, hunting or fishing. One of my best friends, known him since junior high. He’s the guy who caught that 5 foot sturgeon that time, I put a picture on here one day.
Love the bonfires!!! My wife is actually allergic to them…..so that kind of sucks. I need to get a gas outdoor firepit.
Probably just easier to get a new wife.
Depends on how dinner went…..was conversation flowing, or sputtering?
Also, is there a fun room (bar, dart board, pool table, etc), fire pit outside, or just a living room with not enough chairs for everyone?
When the host sets out a box of cereal and says “If you’re still here in the morning, here’s breakfast…..”
…..it’s time to leave.
i did do the “hey kiddos, why don’t you go get your pj’s on and get ready for bed” not too long ago to kind of let the friends know…”LETS WRAP THIS UP PLEASE”
I will sometimes start intentionally yawning…seems to have the desired effect.
Of course if you are into the swinging scene than everyone just stays all night.
that sounds more like VP’s crowd….
Ha! you and VP…..more likely the post dinner Bible study might run a little long….
there is definitely bible talk no doubt about it
That’s all good…met up with my nephew at a Portland bar this past weekend after my conference was over, after our second Whiskey on the Rocks we explored many Biblical topics – chief amongst them was Believers Baptism vs Infant Baptism….really good discussion.
ohhhhhhh that is a good one..
curious as to which stance you take. and if anyone is offended by this convo, collapse the threadddddd
I was born and raised traditional Lutheran, so my upbringing was strong Pro-infant Baptism. In college I had to write a research paper for my religion class, I chose that topic. I came out of that pro-believers baptism. That continues to be my view.
Although I will say if it were 100 percent clear cut we would not have intelligent folks on each side of the issue.
What is your view?
i am 100% pro-believers baptism and feel there are many bible passages that back that up.
i’m always up for a biblical debate though haha
Yeah, the pro-infant side relies on the passage that says “He and his whole household believed and where baptized” they say there is no way there weren’t infants in his household since that is inclusive of his broader family and his slaves.
But to me, pretty much everything else goes pretty heavy to the believers baptism side.
I baptized my son when he was having issues as a newborn.
This was in Berlin so they were sending him to a German Hospital with an Infant Care Unit.
I had to follow the ambulance so I baptized him before they took him just to be on the safe side.
Nothing wrong with being on the safe-side!
How scary…Obviously he turned out O.K.
He did.
The next day we called to check on him and the german nurse said ‘we have no American babies here’.
Took a few minutes to figure out the mix up.
I still tease him about getting mixed up with a german infant and call him Gunther.
LOL!!! Funny ending to a no doubt stressful story.
Yeah, the US nurse kept kicking his incubator when he would flatline.
It would startle him and get things pumping again.
We got him back in a few days.
Wow for scary….
Strangely after a long difficult labor I was kind of numb to a lot of it at the time. Think I had been up more than 36hrs at that point.
The Ex was sedated after the C Section so by the time we ‘normalized’ he was back with us.
i don’t believe there are any specific verses or passages in the BIble that refers to what i will say next…
but i am 100% confident the Lord has extra mercy for babies/children who, while born sinners, have no bearing on right and wrong.
considering how many innocent babies have been murdered due to abortion, i think heaven will be filled with babies, if indeed we will even take on human form in heaven.
Correct.
They can’t even feed themselves and are totally dependent on another human to live.
yep absolutely and i think the bible is VERY open about how much God love children and finds them precious in his sight
It’s an interesting debate agreed. Infant Baptism if it is your belief that will save an infant’s soul then by all means, that Holy water really means something huh? But own it if that is your belief. That means you also believe god would not let an innocent soul into heaven, which is ridiculous in my view. I do not believe in any religion of any sort but to me it’s obvious that even if the god of Abraham Yaweh does exist and Jesus exist that the Bible was still written by flawed people who were sinners and not immune to their times. It’s why there are passages that are pro slavery, and awful. So I see this as either Yaweh is a tyrant who would damn an innocent child’s soul from never entering paradise… or that stuff was written to keep control because as any organization knows the keep in power and relevance you need to get the kids.
scripture was 100% written by sinners….
good thing it was inspired by a flawless and perfect God.
But not written by God, even when I was a Christian I always even at a young age when I learned God told man what to write I was like uh oh… People make a lot of mistakes even when well intended. Even when it’s a personal interview you hear about people being misquoted.
Not a bad take Edge, but again, you would be hard pressed to find a passage that proclaims infant baptism.
Right, which is why I think it’s one of those man made pieces to keep power and control. I hate what we do to kids. Help me understand because maybe I’m just jaded. Because we raise kids to tell them Jesus and god love you and will never forsake you and so on and so forth until they are conditioned to love the religion they’re brought up in. Then we pull the carper out from under them and go… Hey you better not fuck up or YOU’RE GOING TO HELL! Which in my studies and talking with others the fire pit of hell shit is also twisted scripture as well.
Paul, the guy who wrote 60% of the New Testament, was murdering Christians before he believed. So yeah, the Bible was written by sinners.
Hope for ALL!!!
There is really no discussion, if you truly read the bible. And I grew up Catholic.
oh DE, i’m digging this.
And further, I don’t think anybody needs to be physically baptized. It’s all personal and from the heart.
baptism does not save or keep one saved, you are correct.
it’s an outward proclamation of an inward change.
the change has already happened.
typically it’s just to show others as an outward confession.
We are in lock step with this.
That’s what confirmation is for.
True. But…..then that means the baby baptism wasn’t complete and therefore was not truly a baptism?????
10 points for DE
I’m fine with a dedication ceremony. We had one for all of our kids.
Anything with an infant is just a prayer for protection and direction over their life. Nothing wrong with it at all.
Yep, we did the dedication ceremony for our son.
Different sacrament, one of many to make the whole.
I get it.
I was Catholic.
i don’t know exactly every sacrament that the catholic church does and what they all stand for. so i can’t speak to that WHOLLY.
one thing i am not a fan of is the lack of accountability. IN THE SENSE OF, it seems MANY go through the motions of infant baptism, first communion, confirmation yet still live their live according to however they want.
that’s not how a true believer should live, if it’s up to us, we would never live a righteous life.
That’s humans, not just Catholics. I doubt that’s how you meant it, but some of the worst people I’ve met have been the ones that put off a persona of being the most devout.
yes correct.
you are right, i think those types of people are why lots of “non religious” people are wary of “religion”
I witnessed a certain church shun my wife and I because we lived together at the time and weren’t yet married yet they were perfectly fine with and accepting of somebody who created multiple gruesome murders. I’m sure their line that he had repented was why and not because his family had lots of money and were higher ups in said church.
The only time a church should shun someone is if they openly proclaim Christ is not their savior – in which case they wouldn’t be going to church anyway.
That being said if a church has expectations of their flock they are certainly free to express them. I know if I were in the paper for Multiple DUIs I would get a visit from someone….but shunning doesn’t seem like a good approach – nor is it Biblical.
I have seen countless examples of this particular church having double standards. I was not and am not and have never desired to be part of that church and know more people who have ran from it than who stay. If it were not for my job at the time the members of the church I knew would have had nothing to do with me. They had no problem talking about me behind my back though as I found out from multiple people.
Talking about you behind your back…
@That is very Christian@
They would openly bash us to friends and coworkers. I bet at least half of the members I knew were having affairs too. Oh and they were all on drugs. Mostly overused prescriptions but that’s ok. Dareth you live in the same house as a member of the opposite sex you are not married too though…
“Judge not lest you be judged”
Mathew 7.1, I believe…
You should have printed shirts for them with this verse on it.
Crazy right? Old testament there are 2 things that are repeated most that upset god. No false gods before me and take care of the weak and vulnerable… New testament is the biggest repeated issue is judging from others unless you yourself are god. So it’s blasphemous to damn and judge others because it’s thinking you’re god.
Then that’s the wrong church.
Any church worth their salt would not do that.
Yeah. Most Churches have their own rules.
While I think the rules are biblical, I ultimately come down on what did Jesus do to the prostitute? Stone her or forgive her?
Zactly.
It is interesting where some people draw the line. I had someone tell me that their pastor basically said that if you are racist, you aren’t welcome here. So if you murder someone or commit adultery, or have issues with addiction, we want you to come, be forgiven and we will help you to become a better person. However, if you hate people, we can’t help you or forgive you?
Yep.
And no doubt there is merit to publicly stating it.
Dinner at 6pm, finish sometime around 9pm.
But I’m old. 9:30 is my usual bedtime.
Depends on what you’re doing after dinner and what time you eat, generally speaking an hour or so of fellowship after dinner is enough for me, also depends on how often you see each other and how much catching up you have to do.
i just find it funny how different things are with different couples.
always good conversation, having a good time, one couple stayed well past 11pm on a thursday night (couldn’t believe it) one couple left at 7:30 on a saturday night (they were the type to have plans made after i’m sure)
One thing in the midwest is universal though, when someone slaps their knees and says “welp”, that means its time to go but the conversation will inevitably continue until at least 3 people have done so.
CORRECTTTTTT
Ha Ha, how true. Welp…
We’ve learned that if we’re serving an actual meal we need to serve at 8 as people will be gone soon after the meal is finished. Usually drinks/conversation for an hour or two before hand.
Most of the time when hosting we serve appetizers/finger foods. We tend to play a lot of cards/board games and munchie foods work better and keep guests around longer
dinner at 8?!?!?! i got 3 little kids, i can’t do that haha.
Yeah, if I don’t feed my kids by 6 they basically turn into gremlins
Ditto. Don’t throw water on them at that point either. Not sure what affect holy water would have though.
Funny, my kids were gremlins until we fed them.
3 hours and then get the F out…
An half hour if they are fast eaters, 45 min if they are slow eaters.
VP, you may not like people, this is why you work in the Salt Mines.
Could be, could be.
next time i’m near the…..eau claire? area…..i’m inviting myself over.
I’m sure I’ve got 30 minutes for you.
During the week I think around 9ish is a good time to call it. Weekend its whenever the drinking stops.
Get out by 9 p.m. whether it is fun or horrible. People have bedtimes!
I keep it under 2 hours, but I’m in bed by 9:00
am
@GO BRAVES@
PFF loves oliver
Risner and Ingram were about the same 🙁
Risner has to be rusty still, very small sample size too.
True…
Translation….he sucks….
He did well with pass blocking. Not so well with run blocking.
That has been his historical profile…could we just send him in when we are going to pass, and take him out when we are going to run? Do you think anyone would catch on?
Who needs JJ when we have Oliver!!!
How is Hicks not on this? Interception, fumble recovery TD, other plays. Did he just screw up a bunch?
he is at #16 at 67 grade.
JRo Dum Dum….
Haha thanks. Just wondering why not in top 10 pictured above? I would have thought he was a 75+ on their arbitrary rating scale.
Yes…PFF can be criticized for sure….just funnin ya
Superbowl here we come!!!
.
I don’t think we can beat the 49ers. But the rest of schedule is favorable. With our better line play and defense, and our skill guys get there act together, the rest of season can getting interesting.
Yes, our line play is better…I know its a team thing, but hard for me to see the Vikes making a push with JJ hobbled.
Some guys need to step up, Kirk – throw just a little bit better. And our WR’s, catch everything you get your mits on. That’s TE’s and backs too.
And maybe just run the ball a little more effectively.
Nothing real big here and quite possible.
If KOC can pull his head out of his you-know-what and play Chandler, maybe we can do it. Mattison is just brutal to watch make the wrong cut over and over.
Touting that all year, he has a love affair with Mattison. Inordinate amount of touches.
Although Mattison is averaging 3.9 yards per carry, Cook is averaging 2.8 yards…yuk
Haha yeah, it was time to let him go. And for reference, Chandler is averaging 5.3 rushing and 7.8 per catch. But let’s keep playing Mattison or trade for somebody who is effective…
I do not disagree with this take.
Yep, catch the damn ball!
Hock needs to step up.
Love it!
We gonna get sucked in………only to get spit out again.
Always cheer but we will just diminish draft capital.
I had bear for lunch. My second son shot a bear last year so he brought some to our family gathering last Saturday. He did a roast in the crockpot, shredded it and added bbq sauce.
Yummy.
Sounds excellent. That’s my second favorite way to prepare bear.
The last one I shot we turned the whole thing into breakfast sausage.
That must have been A LOT of breakfast sausage.
Sure was. That bear got me into Pope & Young. Dressed at 350#.
I found this awesome little gem of a restaurant in Beach ND. Cafe 60
Slow lunch rush.
Small town Cafes can be the best…I will have to check it out.
I haven’t seen MT much lately. Is he too busy building his Shansion (shed mansion)?
Yup,
He is posted a few times, not much though.
Him and NLNVF I miss and hope they return full time.
Stay classy Chicago.
Holy shit! Seems like all Bears fans, Walter is either really drunk, has a concussion or both lol.
If you were half way sober you were going to kick ass in that brawl.
This just seems like a collection of your average law abiding Chicago citizens.
Really makes me want to go visit there sometime.
Did NLNVF leave too?
Probably. You guys are the WORST
I haven’t seen him in awhile. He had a big blow up with a couple of guys, but didn’t leave immediately after that, he just posted less and less and then disappeared.
Maybe he’s in Gaza taking out Hamas.
Or he was an FBI plant, finally had enough and is turning his case over to the DOJ and some here will be getting knocks on their doors soon.
I wouldn’t be too surprised if that was true. I should lock my doors.
Seriously, wonder what happened to him and Lifer.
Both were willing to take on minority positions, against a hell of a lot of opposition, and hold their own. Thoughtful discussions usually require folks on both sides of issues.
Site seems a little bit less without these guys.
Just wonder?
Lifer was not surprising. He was losing at fantasy football and we ribbed him. Nothing new there, but it’s not the first time he has blown a gasket over something seemingly innocuous.
He is exactly the reason you require people pay before the draft for fantasy
The funny thing is he’s the only one that was worried about anybody paying before the season started.
Lifer seems to have caught a boat load of crap just about daily and hardly ever faltered. FF wold seem like small stuff.
NLVF – have some ideas but wonder what others thought.
NVF has disappeared before for a while. Lifer, he seemed to hit a breaking point even before his ff team was a huge embarrassment of a failure when he went full on doomer after the 0-3 start.
The Vikings actually winning the game against Carolina was too much for him too handle since he had just accepted losing.
Just concerned maybe health issues. Both have caught more than their fair share of crap and seemed to always hang tough.
Found both to be positive contributors here and added a lot.
Yeah I like both those guys, though I disagreed with them on certain subjects. They’ll both be back eventually I’m guessing, especially Lifer, even after being banned several times on the old DN days he’d still come back with a new account.
I hope you’re right that they both will be back.
GF mentioned last week wanting to grow – always easier to retain customers than grow new ones.
Yeah, me too, a little worried about health issues, especially Lifer, he seemed a little emotionally unstable sometimes, I hope he didn’t suffer some sort real breakdown.
I think NVF gets sick of the vitriol, people who can’t disagree without being an ass. I’m with him there.
Brad, I was going to send you a personal e-mail to vent, even though I know you are to busy too listen to us whine. However, I feel a little better after venting some on the thread today.
I’m never too busy to listen to feedback. I drive a lot, gives me lots of time to read emails (only kidding).
Like you always say, “Drive fast…”. Ok, I forgot the rest of it.
Drive fast and take chances.
There, I finally remembered it.
I’m old and forgetful. Who are you again?
I thought so too, just didn’t want to say so. Thought he had balls of steel to endure some of the crap thrown his way.
Did Lifer’s FF meltdown come with a commentary from his end? Or was it just drop players and ghost? None of my business really, but he took/talked shit here with the best of them, so his absence feels peculiar.
He yelled that his team would be awesome if it didn’t suck. We laughed, he dropped his team and that was it. Most of that was here, or at least some of it.
Wow. Odd reaction. Considering the back and forth vitriol I’ve seen between him and 5 back when I first logged on here that feels pretty tame.
That’s what I thought.
Maybe I missed something, but it seemed mild compared to some of what I’ve seen fly around.
All anyone did was point out he was the worst manager according to the app.
I did beat him and he said my team was the worst. It must have felt like losing to the Bears.
I don’t think I’ve played him yet
I am still in first so that’s pretty cool.
Yeah I wasn’t shocked he threw a fit and quit, he did the same thing a couple years ago on the DN ff league
@And this is why fantasy football should not be allowed on a fan blog site…causes way too much divisiveness.@
Lifer started to go downhill when they started the Admin/No Politics stuff.
He would post a passive/agressive ‘Current/Political Event Post’ and when anyone replied he would scream and rant like a 12 drama queen until Barny Fife or the Mall Cop would ride in on their Segway and delete the offending post.
Once he was made Admin he ignored the rule (Fuck Ronald Reagan, etc) and when called on it he would just say ‘I never asked to be an Admin.’
I wrote him off and took some time away and ignored him after that.
Was not shocked/surprised when i came back and found he had flamed out.
His football posts were sometimes decent until his meltdown, his golf posts were boring (to me at least), his political/woke posts showed his mental/emotional instability.
IMHO of course.
I actually disagreed with him on just about every political issue. In fact my very first post was a disagreement over a political issue. But, I did respect that many times he held his own against a heavy barrage of opponents. Not sure many guys would do that.
I like golf and found his many problems on the golf course funny. On the weekends, there wasn’t much else to talk about. In fact, without him and NLVF there wan’t much else happening on the weekends.
I made fun of you guys for talking golf, but I was just being silly. If a few guys want to chat about golf, feel free. At least you were enjoying yourself and not being obnoxious.
I didn’t mind them, just ignored them as I don’t golf.
My brother/uncles/grandfather would have been interested.
I appreciated your comments below. Golf just seemed to fill the air when nothing else was going on. And Lifers troubles where a bit of a story in and of themselves.
I just make fun of everyone & everything, mostly myself.
I don’t mind a discussion on politics.
I often followed and appreciated his and NLNVF discussions.
Not so much the rants/spewing and Cackle worthy word salads.
Difficult to have a meaning full discussion with those.
Kind of like the current UACNKIAs as discussed below.
Uh, oh. Call Webster, I created a word.
Analogy was spot on so I will have to remember and continue to use it.
Wouldn’t be bad if it were an actual discussion.
Personal insults because of one’s upbringing and value system is what it always amounted to.
That’s why most places of employment frown upon discussing religion, race, and politics.
FTFY
That’s why most places of employment frown upon discussing Kirk Cousins, religion, race, and politics.
I see you were cute a child Brad.
It explains how your kid got his looks.
@we were wondering@
Lifer was unhinged. I, for one, don’t miss him.
Good football takes.
Unhinged on everything else, but good football takes.
Found him…
He’s currently working undercover as a tree in a park somewhere in Florida. Lots of glue and bark… but he pulled it off.
Ha!
NFCN holds 3 in the top 10 haha.
Our division plays quality football.
But it does make the NFL interesting as it keeps cycling through the different phases. I remember years where there were 2 or 3 teams from our division that were in the playoff or right on the edge.
Its actually 4
True.
Yep, false hope is what this team does.
So you are sayin there is a chance???
Well, we did beat the two worst teams, and looked like shit doing it.
Anything is possible.
And we’ve looked pretty good against two of the best.
They’ll be like 5-8 coming out of that stretch
I like how our only two wins required a defensive TD, and our offense looked like shit, but somehow we prevail over arguably the two worst teams in football.
Ben Dum Dum, I am going with 6 and 7…Likely finish at 7 and 10. I sure hope I am wrong, and will cheer hard for them to finish 10 and 7.
They are capable of winning all of those games.
They are also capable of losing any or all of those games.
It is what makes the NFL interesting and frustrating.
For those of you who have somehow missed this, it is hilarious.
Weekend Update: Deion Sanders on Coaching at University of Colorado Boulder – SNL – YouTube
That was funny.
SNL is still a thing?
I never watch it live, cause I am always asleep by then. But sometimes they have good clips.
Interesting.
Offense really had a tough time.
Bears had 8 in the box on close to 40% of the run plays according to ESPN.
Seemed like the game plan was to do shorter routes and get the ball out quickly.
Doesn’t help that Addison and Hock dropped a pass or two.
Always a shit show in Chicago.
i would LOVE to see Akers get the start and around 15-20 touches
Mattison had 18 carries and 7 passes thrown his way. Basically half our plays went to him.
Akers has looked decent out there.
Would like to see him get more reps.
Its a mystery why Akers isn’t getting more touches, he’s much more productive than Mattison so far.
Might still not get the system? Seems unlikely considering where he came from. More likely that they paid Mattison a bunch of money and don’t want to admit it was a mistake.
They paid him RBBC money, which means he is not an everydown back and should be splitting carries, I haven’t seen Chandler much either.
Well, he’s more productive not knowing the system than Mattison who knows the system.
Plug him in and let him learn as he goes.
Chandler is better than both, IMO. Why he no play?
Would worry about the 49ers. Their secondary is very physical and will push our receivers around a lot. And they may only need seven in box to stop our running attack.
Not trying to start a huge fight, just think its interesting.
Kirk is 6th in QB rating, 10th in PFF, and 12th in QBR….
Seems like he is playing at an above average to good level.
He usually does
Not into stats all that much. Problem is we have pissed away a few games with all the turnovers.
This is exactly right.
Apparently, you have missed the never ending stat parade posted here and elsewhere the last 6 years.
I agree with that. Problem is, his first two contracts for the Vikings paid him like he is one of the best. Average to good is where he is.
Average to good gets you 1 playoff win in 6 seasons. Meh
Teams will pressure up the middle and Kirk will fold like a wet blanket.
He just needs an above average offensive line and he would be elite.
This is the first time I’ve ever seen stats that say Kirk is good.
I’ve never seen any that say he’s bad
Pass on Williams after seeing this.
small hands
Plus he sucked horribly in that game against ND.
yeah he didn’t look great.
i want jj mccarthy more anyways, and he won’t require a top 5 pick
Imagine……
JJ to JJ for the TD !!!
i’m really into it.
I could make a bet that JJ was going to be the MVP of the game and have even better odds of being correct.
Do not care who they draft. I just want them to pick a QB and let kirky go away.
Watched Cincy highlights today, anyone notice Irv dropping a perfectly fine pass from Burrow? I chuckled.
Well he’s due for a breakout season… next year.
He isn’t injured yet?
https://twitter.com/shannonsharpeee/status/1713618991170879499?s=20
If only someone else shared this first. That person would be considered REALLY COOL!
I don’t follow links that don’t embed.
Rip Chris Farley. I loved his humor.
Nor do I
That you Skolly?
Welcome back !!
Nice.
Queasy got a pick right, yay!
What’s the saying? One out of like 18 ain’t bad?
LOL, yup.
Even a stopped clock is right twice a day.
I saw Booth get on the field some Sunday, not that he was particularly good or anything, but at least he got on the field.
Cine remains to be seen on the field.
i don’t know if i have ever given him this title, but i’m gonna crown him….BUST
Any first round pick that is taken at a position that isnt typically taken in the first round and DOES NOT START or impact the game in anyway is automatically a bust. He was bust when healthy, and hes a mega bust now injured.
but i said it first
Any day now…
He’s due to breakout any game now.
We took him with the 50th pick that year. Next pick was 102 – Alexander Mattison. In between those picks went:
AJ Brown
DK Metcalf
Terry McLaurin
Bobby Okereke
Josh Oliver
David Montgomery
Diontae Johnson
Would’ve rather had any of the above over Irv.
That was a big miss. Taking a TE in round 2 is quite an investment. (Although Tight Ends are the best athletes on the field).
Could be worse. Look at Pitts.
He was supposed to be the next great thing..Just goes to show you, no pick is a certainty.
Unless it’s Kwesi picking a QB high in 2024. That’ll be guaranteed.
Ryan Leaf on line 1.
JaMarcas Russel on line 2.
Joe Burrow, Josh Allen, Mahomes, Stroud are waiting on the line as well. STOP BEING AFRAID OF CHANGE!
Stroud does not belong amongst those names.
LOL stroud
CROWN HIM!
Irv is the Creed of TEs.
Enough about the Vikings, lets talk about my golf game.
Played for the 1st time in 2 weeks yesterday.
Shot an 87, 1 double, 4 pars, 13 bogeys.
I will take it.
I have come to the realization that I have to play some over the winter, I am going to have to try to do the simulators at least twice a month so I don’t end up starting all over again next spring. It took me 2 months to break 90 this year, unacceptable.
Yep!
I’ve learned the secret to life in the Midwest is to somehow not let winter set you back because it sets back EVERYTHING!
My last round about 10 days ago was an ugly 95.
Probably going to try Friday or Saturday this week.
If nothing else, swing s club at least twice a week or 15 – 20 minutes. Putt some on the carpet when you have chance. No substitute for retaining the feeling of having a golf club in your hand.
Kirk’s reasoning for the win. This song played in the locker room.
SMH
Play it every game then.
Not a personal favorite, but if it gets the job done play the damn song on repeat in the locker room.
Creed should be played as punishment for losses.
Agreed. I worked security for a Creed show about 25 years ago. He was a complete ass. I’ve worked a lot of shows over the years and he was easily the worst ‘celebrity’ I’ve ever met. The best? A tie between Jackyl lead singer Jesse James Dupree and Shooter Jennings. Those guys were awesome. Ron White the comedian is also an incredibly nice guy.
Yeah, that too, but his music also sucks.
That was implied.
The coolest celebrity I ever met was Sean Connery, he ate at a restaurant I worked at in Deadwood, he was super nice and came and introduced himself to everyone after he ate. Ironically enough the guy that owned the restaurant was the biggest douche celebrity I ever met, Kevin Costner.
I met Todd Bauman and Bob Lurtsema once.
I met Wally the beer man
i have his autographed card
That’s awesome.
Tater Salad is a funny guy. While I’m not a dog person, I love his bit where he says, “I like dog, not dogs. I like my dog. I hate your dog.”
I have a buddy who has booked bands since the early 90s started small basement shows with the likes of Green Day and stuff but has also done huge events. I asked him one time who were the worst people he dealt with. Without missing a beat he said KoRn when they were still all super drugged out. Just the worst people ever. He said Trent Reznor was the best and most surprising. He said he wasn’t even a NIN fan until after he booked their show in Sioux Falls and said Trent was such a good dude. After the show it was all about hanging with the fans and being all about being there for the fans.
I actually saw Korn in Sioux Falls in 1995.
The guitarist looked so fried he could barely stand up.
They put on a great show, though, have to admit!
That would have been the guy I know Terry Taylor that booked that show. Pomp Room right? Said they were despicable humans.
Corn?
I’ve heard that about Reznor before.
^^THIS^^
Did you consider yesterday getting the job done from our QB?
Like it worked….
So I guess even Kirk doesn’t think stats wins games?
i’m surprised he doesn’t prefer with arms wide opennnnn
Such a talented guitarist… but this song and band is the highest level of butt rock there is… it can’t go higher than this lol.
Creed is just Nickelback in disguise
really good disguise I’d say
Check this out hahah!
Just a reminder, better Vikings teams than the one that played sunday have lost to worse bears teams than the one that played on sunday.
Ok. That can only mean one thing…
Superb owl, probably…
This statement is full of truthiness….
I vividly remember this one. McMahon coming in and immediate bomb to Willie Gualt.
Stupid Youtube Censors. It was the game from 1985.
the year i was born….YOU OLD
Secret confession: I kind of like being old!
so in reality, you have been praising hitman this whole time?!?!?!?!
MIND BLOWN
I said I like being “old,” not “antediluvian ancient.”
i laughed
From one study….
There are other studies that indicate people are happiest in their early thirties. I like this study better because it indicates my “happiest” time may yet be ahead of me. Although I am pretty happy right now. Livin the dream baby.
My goodness, VP, I expect more from you! You are supposed to be the moral compass for the site. 🙂
Really? Hello darkness my old friend… I’ll be 52 in January.
If 44 is old then me too….
Anyone know how many snaps Risner got? How did he look?
Following the game thread I heard about two after Cleveland was dinged up.
One third down when I was told he handled his assigned man well.
One fourth down punt. He might have been if for the kneel down at the end?
Thanks, it would be great if he could improve our guard play, fingers crossed.
I don’t recall anything one way or the other about his play but he got 10 snaps
Thanks
He looked pretty good. I don’t recall his guy getting any pressures on Cousins.
I’d also like to point out to those who were wondering if Kirk is making JJ or if JJ is making Kirk, I think we got our answer. Against THE WORST STATISTICAL PASSING DEFENSE IN THE LEAGUE Kirk couldn’t get it done with out JJ, hell he barely threw past the sticks and converted ZERO passing first downs in the entire second half. And is no responsible for 9 turnover in 6 games. WHAT MORE DO I NEED TO PRESENT OR DO YOU NEED TO SEE, TO SEE THE LIGHT!
It was a stinker of an offensive game to be sure. 220 total yards was BAD BAD BAD.
but to be fair, Kirk was pretty good before JJ, I don’t think JJ was in Washington when he made the pro-bowl. JJ for sure makes Kirk better, and the offense better, but might be a stretch to say JJ MAKES Kirk.
He’s always had top WR talent at every stage in his NFL career, ALWAYS. Yesterday he showed he cant carry an average offense that STILL has weapons against the WORST DEFENSE in the league. Good lord that NOT GOOD
Sometimes watching games in revealing. I got to watch the Lions Bucs yesterday. I don’t know who the Lions OC is, but it’s been a while since I’ve seen WR’s that open down the field.
The Lions look like they are going to be a problem.
I keep waiting for them to start doing Lions things but so far they really haven’t. Their OC may indeed be really good, I don’t think their head coach is very intelligent though. He will cost them a couple of games at some point this season.
Agree about coaching. I was just surprised. Don’t know that Lions have great receivers, but there were wide open – no one even around. At the NFL level, pretty surprising.
LOL one game decisions are always the best to make.
also, yep, we miss JJ, i bet EVERYONE IS SHOCKED at that
9 turnovers in 6 game are on him. Thats a 6 game pool to pull from. Whats the excuse next week freezy, “iT wAs AgAinSt tHe 49ers” spare me
who is him? JJ? i think only 1 MAYBE 2 were on him…
Him is Kirk…Freezy…pay attention
i wasn’t even talking about kirk? i was talking about JJ….
man kirk owns so much real estate in your head…
of course the offense misses JJ, how was that ever in question?
Yes but you replied to my comment which was about Kirk. So thats what im on. We all know JJs good, and is more valuable than Kirk, thats not what im discussing.
Are you trying to tell me that when the best player in the NFL at a position gets hurt, it also hurts the team he plays for? You have to be kidding me.
No duh, but other QBs manage to get it done with lesser WR talent , especially AGAINST THE WORST PASS D in the league. Come on Brad.
Mr. Irrelevant managed to drive his team down the field missing Deebo and CMC.
BOOM! My point exactly.
And year before last, Kirk drove team down the field against Cardinals (much less time and no TO’s0) and our kicker missed a PT FG – folks around here said, shit, Kirk’s fault he should have went for a FG.
That has nothing to do with the overall point of this thread. At all.
Who was the reference to Mr Irrelevant talking about – driving for a winning FG
Wild right?
Did you watch the game? There were SO many dropped passes that he rocketed in there and I am no Kirk apologist but Kirk looked sharp on a lot of throws that we dropped.
Havent missed a game in 11 years and I plan to keep it that way, so yes. Excuses abound. Its the WRs fault…got it. Moving on.
all dropped passes, if kirk is the qb, are on kirk and kirk only, silly edge
Right, and dropped passes and pressure ONLY happen to Kirk. No other QBs. Just like no other QBs lose their #1 weapon and perform well. Freezy your argument is poor.
i’m not the one that looks at ONLY KIRKS MISTAKES as if no one else makes them in the league, my friend…. that be you.
kirk makes some really dumb mistakes. SO DOES EVERY SINGLE QB IN THE HISTORY OF THE NFL.
It seems that vests are making a comeback, & I don’t really like that at all. Vests get on my nerves, they don’t make much sense to me.
Fishing vests?
No, I see a lot of dudes wearing vests around town now.
Do you see any dudes wearing scarves around town? When I travel to the coasts, like Portland, I am treated to that metro-sexual fashion statement.
I’m seeing them a lot around here. They must sell them at Scheels or something, that seems to be where most guys get their fashion
I love wearing a vest. I don’t like wearing coats. I would much rather wear a hoodie or flannel shirt with an Under Armor shirt and a vest. My favorite for hunting is a Filson wool vest I have. Keeps your core warm without the baggy restrictiveness of a coat. I am good without a coat hunting to at least 0 F with a good vest on.
Interesting. I usually stay warm as long as I have good boots and gloves. I don’t like bulky jackets either.
My favorite is this one. Super thin but warm, especially with Under Armor and a flannel. If I’m working or hiking with some good gloves, hat and boots I’m good to negative temps.

That’s the one.
That would look good on Wyatt Earp
Unless I’m wearing my orange one, I combine it with one of these

I wear a filson as well, often over a wool shirt. If I am sitting a spell I’ll add a shell over top (shell over top, sounds like a Donatell D)
The fellow Montanan understands. Those North Dakotans just don’t get it. To be fair he’s probably seeing puffy Back to the Future vests running around Bismark on guys with man buns that are sipping pumpkin spice lattes.
No, that’s Fargo
Fargo, Bismark, basically the same thing aren’t they?
Oh NOOOOO….Fargo is getting more and more like Minneapolis each day, do not insult Bismarck like that.
Sweater vests are always in fashion
It’s come to this, on Skoloholics, a discussion of men’s fashion, and bad fashion at that.
Well, the vikes did play fashionably bad yesterday.
Ha! well done.
I can rail you for being wrong about Kirk above if youd rather discuss that?
anytime i think of vests….i think of these guys
PPB would appreciate this…
i miss him
Yeah, same, if the Vikings keep sucking maybe he’ll come back to gloat about how bad they are.
he won’t even respond to my emails, i think he is just GONE
sad.
He reminded me of myself at that age. Overly emotional invested in the team. Hopefully he can adjust and come back for some fun talks.
They add warmth without adding bulk to the arms, so you can do things easily and not be cold.
Perfect recap of the game
https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZT8hDfJWQ/
There was a lot of memes crammed into that 90s but that made me chuckle.
I do have a question.
That throw by Cousins that was intercepted, didn’t count as an interception, in the box score.
Anybody know why?
the kirk lovers have a lot of pull…..
Good question – sure seemed like one,
Was the ball knocked out before his arm was moving forward?
Was it counted as a fumble? His arm got hit. It should have been called an interception as the arm was going forward.
I believe they scored that as a fumble. I was a little confused myself.
It was scored as a fumble.
But, realistically, Kirks arm had to be going forward for the ball to travel 10 yards in the air, don’t you think?
LOL, no kidding.
He just volleyball spiked it after it was loose.
Lol
what’s with the lady randomly tossing jugs around?
The question isn’t whether they can win some of these up coming games, its if they SHOULD or not. If yesterdays game inspired you or or gave you hope that they can “compete” then we watched two VERY different games. Barely beating two of the worst teams in the league is NOT a good thing (well, it is when you need a new QB). If Fields isnt hurt on that last Bears drive , were 1-5. Lets no lose track of the larger picture and the future of this team past December of this year and the opportunity that lies before the team and the fanbase.
Agree that it was an uninspiring win…Disagree completely with your “Lets Tank” philosophy.
It’s the NFL and all wins are worthwhile. That worthless Bears team beat the crap out of the Commanders and the Commanders took the Eagles into OT. Just last night the Giants should have beaten the Bills. Style points don’t count.
And agree that there a numerous ways to put together a championship team.
As for me, I enjoy seeing the Vikings win. My disagreement with the “Let’s Tank” philosophy is that I don’t necessarily believe that it will be our salvation. In business, if I have a great team of people that has a few glaring deficiencies that is not performing the best, I’m not going to destroy the moral of my good workers by asking them to work subpar for awhile so the boss will let us hire a new person. Plus in sports just like in business, hiring the next best guaranteed winner is still mostly a crapshoot.
Zactly. A++ commentary.
well stated. And try going to your boss and telling him you are going to tank your business for a few years as you build your dream team.
as you build your HOPEFULLY dream team, but have a chance it won’t work at all and could really crash and burn
We at least we would have tried. Trying and failing is better than not trying at all and being mid for an eternity.
And if that doesn’t work, then try to fail again just for a long-shot gamble, so we can maybe try to fail in the future for the same shot at a high-draft player. Terrible philosophy and strategy. Unless you’re mathematically eliminated from playoffs, win games when you can.
this one is better…
I don’t think business philosophy can be applied to professional sports teams on a one-to-one basis. Professional sports teams world is an insane world of groupies, drugs, fame and money pouring out of everyone’s butt no matter how good or bad a team is playing.
Professional sports can maybe be applied to business as it is portrayed in the Wolf of Wall Street.
Also, NFL fans have proven over and over again that they will continue to fork over money no matter what.
NFL really can’t lose as a business.
Maybe not one to one, but football is a business. And while there are fans that will consistently fork out money, there are some that will not. Just look around here when the Vikings start to suck, there are more than one that says they stop watching the game. Teams that “tank” may still make money (especially because of the lucrative TV contracts), but the team will make more money if they are winning than if they are losing. And you can’t tell me that the morale of the players is not damaged if they can see that the ownership, gm and coaches are willing to forgo a season.
“Barely beating two of the worst teams in the league is NOT a good thing”
We also barely lost to two of the best teams in the League, Chief/Eagles, welcome to the NFL.
Officials have their thumb on the scale as Brad alluded to in the ‘mystical words up top’.
no no, even though they were one score games, garbage time, empty stats, blah blah blah blah
You can accept the above or just complain incessantly about everything.
That gif looks like the clip of JJ during the game broadcast yesterday.
Saw that…….WTF?
I had a major crush on her back in the day.
Lol Eagles game was not close at all. And the Chiefs were playing with their food. You play both those games again we lost by two scores, again.
NFL teams don’t tank. Either inspire a winning culture or a losing culture. High draft picks don’t equal future success.
They do equal future success, they just dont guarantee it, but theres no guarantees in life thats why you gamble and play the game. This is looking like the Andrew luck draft where the Vikes were primed to draft him and decided to win a couple meaningless games and miss out on him.
Again, there is no valid statistical evidence to back up your assertion. I have looked, but if you find some please present it.
I won’t hope for the team to lose, period. That being said, yesterdays game inspires nothing for me. The Bears are terrible and the Vikings managed to beat them, nothing special at all about it.
Yeah, it was a shitty game, but still a road win vs Chicago.
But I was laughing while watching it, so I was entertained.
I laughed too.
Nice game write up up top.
Seems OK to me to win some games with defense – kind of refreshing. OK with me also if special teams wins a game once in a while
Probably did lose the TES and GOE scores yesterday though.
May take a little time to adjust the offense some playing without JJ. We’ll see.
‘Seems OK to me to win some games with defense – kind of refreshing…’
damn straight….
Lot of ways to win games – all are acceptable.
Yes.
Just win, baby!
-Al Davis
Gooooose morning!
Victory Monday!
Ugly win better than a sexy loss.
Skol!
depends on how sexy the loss is, imo…
Ha! I read “Ugly win better than a sexy boss”, I was like wait a minute, maybe not…
Although I agree with you, that was an exceptionally uninspiring win.
Completely. But I go game by game anyway – so I’ll just be happy with the W.
Until you become the owner, gm or coach, that really is the only way you can do it. Enjoy the win.
Yes, I am enjoying it.
I keep reminding myself that it’s a win in Chicago at soldier Field. That’s never easy, regardless of how shitty the Bears are.
I’ve been around the Vikings for a long time and it seems a lot of times when we go to Chicago it ends up being and old style NFC Central type of game. It was 6 to 6 at half time.
Thanks for saying that Brad. I’m not sure it will make any difference to some people however.
And…..
let me be the first to remind everyone here….
YOU ARE ALL IDIOTS
how i picture you most the time, tbh
It will get better.
I hope so. There were a few days where I just walked away, which disappoints me, because there are so many guys on here that I like and I enjoy hanging out with them, just not when someone is being a jerk.
(That probably could have been more than one really long sentence.)
“There were a few days where I just walked away”
More like a few weeks for me.
I come back for the good guys and do my best to ignore the Keyboard warriors.
Perfect.
I don’t think their ‘Keyboard’ is that big, they only think it is.
Unless it is the elder/partially blind version.
My trouble is that around here, it is not like going to a party or family gathering. In that case, when you get to the event, you go and find the room or table where your friends or tolerable family are sitting and you enjoy a good time chatting until Uncle or Aunt Consistently Negative Know-It-All (UACNKIA) shows up and heads directly for your group. Then they tell you how everything you have said is wrong, tell you what is right and then let you know that because of what you believe you have always been and will always be a loser.
At least in those situations you can excuse yourself to go to the bathroom and then find another room or table with more enjoyable people and hang out with them.
In here, there is one room and so UACNKIA will always insert themselves into every conversation and there is no real way to avoid them.
Great analogy!
I learned with ‘Mr Mentally and Emotionally Unstable Admin’ that I don’t have to respond to their rants/passive aggressive posts/lectures/etc.
I am going to do the same with the UACNKIAs here. It is not like engaging them is going to accomplish anything other than getting my blood pressure up.
whatever happened to that guy?
I wasn’t here but I heard he melted down, dropped his FF team and disappeared.
I was shocked, shocked I say.
Still in Chicago?
Yep – have stopped and feel better. Leave for a few days or so and then see what’s happening.
When you walk through a barn you don’t have to step in the poop, but you still smell it.
If you mean guys that are fun to hang around with, then yes.
For the record, the NFL IS MOST CERTAINLY RIGGED. There is no question. Perhaps they don’t rig every game (I don’t think they do, especially ones that don’t matter for the grand script of what they want), but they absolutely rig several games per week at minimum, particularly if they’re not going the way they want. Look no further than the NFC championship game vs the Saints (about 10 bad/made-up/missed calls maybe in the 4th quarter and overtime alone).
My big comment, before I read the intro, was going to be that it looked like the NFL wanted the Vikings to win yesterday with that non-fumble recovery by the bears (clearly wrong call, even with slow-mo), but then they made up for it with the fake PI call and the “intentional grounding” with Ham right there. I think I can recall 2 games I’ve seen in my life where the Vikings were (+) in the terrible calls department. Usually they are working against 2 or 3+ game-changing critical calls. The refs have helped the Packers win about 88 games in the last 15 years I’ve been watching, so there’s that. I don’t know how anyone questions if the NFL is rigged at this point. IT IS.
For the record, I watch because it is entertaining (which is what the NFL is meant to be, and classified as). I like the plays, I like to root for the underdog against the game-scripts (most often the Vikings).
That intentional grounding call was one of the worse calls I’ve seen in a long time. How does NY not call the ref and tell him he is an idiot?
Because the game script changed at that point – the rookie comes in and beats the Vikings, heroically, with gritty play (except he ruined it with a terrible interception). The NFL was okay with (or wanted) that outcome. More Fields drama then, too, which gets clicks.
They have how many refs on the field, and every one of them missed it? Ham isn’t exactly a little dude.
How many refs relatives bet on games??…..just wondering.
is it rigged by the NFL? by the refs? both?
Jerry. Jerry rigged it….
Jerry the mouse?
most krauts would be offended by this ya know….
Friggin Jerry, it’s always Jerry
The NFL is telling the refs what to do, I believe. They want certain matchups/outcomes.
It’s rigged – How else do they get slow-mo reviewed calls wrong so much? Or we see made-up calls out of nowhere? I can’t believe it’s just incompetence.
JRo_42, I was pissed about that intentional grounding call, but yeah that non-fumble was awful.

It was a fun day of football yesterday. The Vikings won, the 49er and Eagles lost with exciting (ref assisted) endings and the Bills barely beat the Giants. Any given Sunday some crazy stuff can happen in the NFL which makes it fun. Also, with all the other games besides the Vikings, I don’t have to listen to one of my fellow fans rip me a new one for being entertained.
Did you see the clock management by the Giants at the end of the first half? Woof
How can it be so bad? Even as a rookie, a player has been most likely playing football for 15 years or more. How can you not have any clue about the clock?
Sounds like it was on the offensive coordinator
Which is even worse, because that person has been around football a lot longer. I was reading a book when that happened, but I looked up during the play and was kind of astonished by the stupidity.
Ya, I was laughing hard. I thought the Vikings were the only team that did dumb shit like that. I’m glad to see we aren’t the only ones.
i very much appreciated the gross, boring game yesterday…
it allowed me to get my garage all cleaned out and ready for winter. got the snowblower running. the attic filled etc.
I still gotta get all that done. I just rented a heated shop for our business, so working on equipment is going to be a joy this winter..
Freezey, how can you fix your snowblower when you can’t change a battery in your van? Are you sure you didn’t pay for someone to do that?
Disclaimer: This is not a personal attack, just having fun.
I woke up last night in the middle of the night and realize that I need to turn off the outside water and put the water hose back up in the shed. I have been slacking apparently.
I just drained my sprinkler system yesterday. I am slacking as well.
The Vikings are undefeated when JJ doesn’t play. He sucks, cut him.
Also undefeated when they have fewer than 300 yards of offense and a defensive TD. Stop trying to get yards and just have the defense score.
also undefeated when kirk is about to get sacked and chucks the ball backwards randomly and we get lucky the refs decided to be on our side for once
LOL, what a poop of a game. It looked like the Bears were going to come back and win with their D2 rookie QB, like the game where the Vikings hurt Trubisky and Chase “the butcher” Daniel came in and led them to a win, but alas that Badger guy threw a stupid pick and the Vikings somehow managed to win.

I vividly remember Chase Daniel carving us up. And Cooper Rush, and Kyle Boller, and Todd Collins, and….
Vikes lose if Fields was healthy on that last drive.
Oh I don’t know about that, Fields sucks.
Did you see the way that Purdy and Hurts played yesterday? Talk about a suck fest. Fields wasn’t playing great before he got hurt either.
I doubt it, that D2 rookie played way better than Fields had been playing.
So lifer would’ve won his 2nd game in a row in fantasy football after ditching his team if only his lineup was set.
LOL
Is it better to lose when not trying or when trying?
I gotta say, it’s not fun to lose when I’m trying.
The 9ers are hurt. Can we beat them?
I wonder how many Browns fans said that yesterday?
One score gsme.
Coin flip for W or L
There’s one thing I’ve learned as a Vikings fan, it’s “don’t let anything surprise you”
Can..or Should? I say no to both
Good teams don’t lose 2 games in a row. The 9ers will come out to prove a point, be up by at least 3 TDs at some point and then the Vikings will come back in the second half, never really be in it but do enough to make the final score look like it was a close game.
Vikings win and poop eaters lose. It’s gonna be a good week.
Yessir!
The Vikings are back in the playoff hunt after demolishing the Chicago Bears. The Vikings sent undrafted rookie Bears QB Tyson Bagent a fruit basket for throwing an ill-advised interception to end the game after Bagent gashed the defense and was on the verge of leading his team down the field for the go-ahead score.
Kirk Cousins also had some helpful advice for the rookie:
“Check down, son. Check down…”
Yep, the Vikes were on the verge of making another rookie backup QB look like Joe Montana. WTF? How does that always happen?
