VIKINGS NEWS- Preseason game today with the dynamic duo of Nick Mullens and Jaren Hall. I will try to watch but will end up taking a nap probably.

Laughing… my sister wants the Packers to win. She also likes the Vikings. She’s a little mixed up.
Pablo pitches 6 shutout innings and the bull pen promptly gives up 5 runs in the 7th and the Twinkies lose 6-5 in 10 innings. grrrr
Still a mystery to me, how the sack in the end zone around the beginning of the second quarter wasn’t a safety.
This guy was ranting that the final score should have been 27-5 if there had been decent officiating.
His takes can be interesting occasionally.
Yeah, I agree. Not only did they not award a safety, they marked the ball at the 2 yard line. No way was that right. Really atrocious call.
While I am happy to see the Vikings bring Gilmore in, it pains me to remember all the draft capitol the team invested in defensive backs over the last few years, only to have to bring in a free agent. Trae Waynes, Mike Hughes, Jeff Gladney, Jay Ward, Mekhi Blackmon, Andrew Booth, Lewis Cine, Harrison Hand, Brian Cole, Kris Boyd, etc.
Even more ‘painful’ is Khyree Jackson, RIP.
Definitely RIP. Very sad.

Happy about the Gilmore signing. Cant help but think this was a done deal before he left Minny and he chose to delay to minimize his time in camp. He’s a pro, likely staying shape year-round and has experience in BFlo’s system. His health and availability long-term are more important than reps in the heat at this point.
Was impressed again yesterday by Trishton Jackson. I think he’s a better WR4 option than Powell.
Don’t expect to see any starters next week, but I could be wrong. Should get feature looks at Rouse, Jurgens, LDR, Bo Richter and Cine – who finally did something of note. I think it’s still likely he gets cut.
Wasn’t impressed that they threw Coral out there at the end to get smacked around. Dude just hit town, Hall could’ve finished just fine. Now we’ve taken a QB ‘reclamation’ project and embarrassed him in his first few snaps as a Viking. Not expecting much from Coral at all – he’s likely just a camp arm, but that was a bad look imo.
Move-in this week at the University. Several thousand of these little bastards are hitting town as I type this. Most of them ignored the dozen or so emails about the need to take care of parking before coming to campus. Long lines out the door, pissed parents with sticker shock, and small-town, podunk freshman who ‘was the first in the family to go to college’ – so they bring in Mom, Dad, MeeMaw, PeePaw, Cousins Jack and Joe and Jill and Jane (all with their kids) – and cram ALL of them into our tiny (by design) vestibule that has no seating whatsoever. Fixing to be a long, stressful week.

Maintaining a sense of humor is a great way to survive hoards of ‘stupidity’, it worked for me in prison for the most part.
Inmates do a lot of ‘funny things’ sometimes on purpose.
I get the whole “bring the whole family” because it is a big event. However, I don’t get
“bring the whole family” to every little thing, like getting the parking pass. I think MeeMaw could stay in the car during this exercise.
The Vikings are are making a major free agent acquisition at a time when they rarely happen: Former Pro Bowl CB Stephon Gilmore is signing in Minnesota on a 1-year, $10M deal.
Strong move. Hope he still has something in the tank.

And Cine played like an all star yesterday…Secondary is stacked.
Basically, depending on the quality of QB play we get, the team could contend.
Against the 2s and 3s he did well for one day.
I will temper my expectations at this point.
His salary is a sunk cost at this point, so if we get something out of him fine.
If he suddenly displays competence and makes the roster it will only make our secondary stronger.
I assume Coach Flo was part of the decision make process therefore I am perfectly fine with it.
Initially a depth piece I assume.
Good move, should help the secondary.

Tua’s in his 3rd year in Mike McDaniels offense, and he’s looking strong.
Consistency in a system is when QB’s with talent shine. Changing OC’s every year is very hard to overcome.

If this was a preseason game in Lewis Cine’s rookie year, I’d be encouraged. But it’s year 3, so…
