I’m a bit incognito this week, busy between work and moving from one shop to another. But, after this week, I’ll be fairly clear until the end of the month, so I’ll have time to work on my shop space and do other things that need to be done but I never have time to do them. Kiddo will be off next Monday & Tuesday, so we’re hoping to get the pop-up out & do some ice fishing. It’s supposed to be colder than a well digger’s ass in the Klondike, so it’s a good time to sit in a nice, warm ice house to catch some fish & play some cards.
I see that the Steelers are likely moving on from Russell Wilson, which should come to the surprise of no one. He’s not the quarterback he once was, it seems like he hasn’t been the same since his last year or so in Seattle.
I also see that there is a lot of buzz that there is tensionj between the Vikings and Kevin O’Connell. I hope this is just the media blowing something out of proportion, which is likely the case. Keep in mind that this is the same organization that kept Rick Spielman at the helm for a decade. It seems that KOC and KAM have the ship headed in the right direction. They far exceeded expectations this year where the head coach was a significant contributing factor to their success. The season did end on a bad note, but a lot of that was due to the performance of Sam Darnold. I think it would be a mistake to ship Kevin O’Connell anywhere, as he is a rising star in the NFL. I may grab a torch & pitchfork if they trade him.

From Vikings.com, the Vikings QB options ar key to the team’s future. I’m curious to see what they do for next year. I don’t expect Darnold to be back, so do they sign Daniel Jones or bring in somebody else? I know they hope that JJ McCarthy is 100% healthy and ready to lead the team to the promised land, but neither of those are guaranteed, so they’ll want a better plan B than Brett Rypien.

Dec 2018 it was 56, weekly average.
After getting the crud, then retirement, then the pandemic, then Plantar Fasciitis it ballooned up to the high 60s.
The last two weeks it has been 59 per my fitbit. I consider RHR a significant indication of my heart health. Especially when MT is not here to contradict me.

Such as how long is too long to have your Christmas tree up after Christmas, or is acting a legitimate profession, or if you build a lego city, does that make you a contractor. Solid stuff like that should get us a few months down the road.

The Twins are likely to announce who the new owner is going to be by opening day. I read it may take until end of may for the transfer of power to take place. That would mean the new owner would be in place before the trade deadline.
Tree should come down the weekend following Christmas, at the latest.

Before The Teacher I put a small, fake tree up and didn’t take it down until after the next Christmas.
Seemed easier that way. Nephews and Nieces that that was funny.
Works for me. I actually just like looking at the tree all decorated with lights on. Sort of like looking at a nice picture on the wall.
My sister had one that took hours to set up, so she just left it up and decorated it for each holiday.

Vikings have re-signed DL Jalen Redmond. I like Redmond. Solid player for the future in my opinion.

Well, I kind of feel like Snyder came in thinking he was Jerry Jones, and he did spend big money on big names, trying to build a winner. Albert Haynesworth, Bruce Smith, Deion Sanders, Jeremiah Trotter, Trent Williams, Adam Archuleta, Jeff George, Brandon Lloyd, Donovan McNabb, Antwaan Randle El, and Mark Carrier to name a few. Obviously Trent Williams was a great player, as was Brandon Scherff. But pretty much every “big name signing was a flop.
