Vikings Discussion

Aloha from the frozen plains of North Dakota. Hey, it’s only supposed to stay below zero for another 48 hours or so, it’s supposed to creep above the 0 mark around noon on Thursday. They’re talking 35 by Friday, I’ll probably be outside in a t-shirt.

I posted this comment late yesterday, but wanted to repeat it here because it’s funny. The 2025 salary cap hits for Dak Prescott & Cee Dee Lamb are $89 million & $35 million, respectively. For those of us who went to public school, that adds up to $124 million (I had to use my fingers and toes). The salary cap for 2025 is projected to be $265 million to $275 million, which means the Cowboys are spending almost half of their 2025 salary cap on two players.

The Cowboys are probably gonna suck, and I can’t wait.

Vikings News

Thread Guidelines

  • Keep politics to a minimum. We are adults, news happens, and we can talk about it. What we don’t want is to go down rabbit holes and turn a productive conversation into name calling and personal attacks.
  • Be respectful and civil. You don’t need to agree with everyone, you also don’t need to make it personal. Attack the argument, not the poster.
  • Keep the NSFW language/pictures to a minimum. We don’t want anyone getting in trouble at work for hanging out here.
  • To summarize, behave like adults. Treat each other with respect, and things will be fine. Mods will take out content they feel is pushing the boundary. If you want to reach out about something, please do. We want to have robust discussions, that’s why we’re here, just be civil.

Lots of news today…

  1. Trump signs EO making IVF more available…regardless of how you feel about IVF it is noteworthy because the libitards and their fear campaign were sure Trump would outlaw IVF.
  2. The federal judge refused to support the 14 liberal states and their AGs suit to stop DOGE and Musk – the waste cutting will continue.
  3. The 8th Circuit court of appeals said Biden’s last effort to ‘forgive’ 500,000,000 in student loans was unconstitutional…500 million isn’t much but it is the principal of the thing….

winning is fun.

New York GOP Representative Claudia Tenney has introduced a new bill that would make President Donald Trump’s birthday a public holiday — if it successfully passes.

Tenney (R-N.Y.) introduced the bill, which is named the Trump’s Birthday and Flag Day Holiday Establishment Act.

It would recognize Trump’s birthday and Flag Day, June 14th, as a legal public holiday.

I like Trump, but this is just dumb.

Per the discussion down below about the naming of an Acting Commissioner of the SSA.

Trump appointed Leland Dudek to lead the agency on an acting basis while Bisignano, the CEO of financial software giant Fiserv, awaits Senate confirmation. Selecting Dudek means Trump bypassed several other senior executives who were higher ranking, causing concern among employees, The Washington Post reported.
“To pick an acting commissioner that is not in the senior executive service sends a message that professional people should leave that beleaguered public agency,” Martin O’Malley, the Social Security commissioner under the Biden administration, said, according to the Post.

Democrat lawmakers are reportedly working to pass a bill in the hopes of “designing a new state flag” that “better reflects the diversity and values of all Washingtonians.”

The lawmakers recently introduced House Bill 1938, which aims to create a committee that would take on the job of designing a new flag for the “Evergreen State.”

They argued that the current Washington flag “often faces criticism for its poor design and lack of relevance to the state’s identity.”

“The flag features a detailed portrait of George Washington, making it overly complex and difficult to reproduce which is a violation of key flag design principles that prioritize simplicity. Additionally, while George Washington is an important national figure, he has limited historical connection to the state itself. This makes his image less meaningful as a symbol for the state,” the bill states.

So the State of Washington, was named after our first President, but its flag lacks relevance to the state’s identity? Are these people just stupid?

Good for him. Teams sign players to worthless contracts they never intend to honor, and trade or cut them when it’s to their advantage. Players are just pieces of meat to a team. Nothing more. Cousins was the first player in NFL history to get a fully guaranteed contract, and he has never let a team GM get the best of him. If you hate him for being smart, and tough, in his own defense, then so be it.

This struck me as a bit odd.

The acting Social Security Administration’s chief stepped down from her role after multiple requests from the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) to access recipient data, according to multiple reports.

Acting Commissioner Michelle King left the agency after over 30 years of service. According to The Associated Press, she allegedly refused to provide DOGE employees with sensitive information that was requested.

Michelle King will be replaced by Leland Dudek, who will be the acting commissioner until the Trump administration nominee Frank Bisignano is confirmed.

White House spokesperson Harrison Fields spoke about the move on Monday, saying, “President Trump has nominated the highly qualified and talented Frank Bisignano to lead the Social Security Administration, and we expect him to be swiftly confirmed in the coming weeks. In the meantime, the agency will be led by a career Social Security anti-fraud expert as the acting commissioner.”

This is the part I don’t get. A “career anti-fraud expert” who couldn’t figure out we had 20 Million folks on the rolls, who were likely deceased, has been put in charge. I mean Musk found this in one day. This guy is a career anti-fraud expert? Please…

Trump didn’t appoint him, the White House simply announced his placement into the position. When a head of an Agency steps down, it’s natural for a replacement from within the ranks to be named as their stand-in. My point was simply a person from the Social Security Administration, who is a career expert in anti-fraud, never addressed the 20 million folks on the rolls, who are over 100 years old, according to their own data. It’s emblematic of what’s wrong inside the Beltway.

I was considering identifying as a ‘lesbian trapped in a man’s body’ when I worked at the prison.
I was ready to play that card if I got in trouble so that they would back off and give me those ‘special rights’ that they give to alphabet people.

Because he could turn left really fast?

Not the most but he was tied for the most championships and was dominant. There’s more to NASCAR than just turn left. Earnhardt was particularly skilled at restrictor plate races (Daytona and Talladega). The other drivers said he drove like he could see the wind around his car. While aggressive on the track, sounded like a pretty good guy off the track as well. When he was killed, he was blocking cars so Michael Waltrip and Dale Jr. could win the race. Because of his crash all drivers are mandated to wear a Hans device.

When I got my new computer delivered I was sent an e-mail that it was going to be delivered by UPS that afternoon.
I heard the truck, went out side, saw the truck park next door and the delivery guy come out of the truck with my computer and proceed to walk up the neighbors walk with it.
I asked him why he was delivering my computer to the wrong address which was on the box and clearing showing on my house.
He got all defensive and said ‘well I was going to check the address’. I said ‘sure, just like yesterday when you delivered our packages there’. It has escalated to the point that The Teacher contacted UPS about the guy since he seems to have made it personal delivering our packages next door weekly.
Hope you have better luck.

Information on Social Security for anyone interested.
From the New York Post. Yes a tabloid but can have some good reporting.
Elon Musk cries ‘fraud’ on 20 million in Social Security database over age 100
And the Govt report referenced in the article.
https://oig.ssa.gov/assets/uploads/a-06-21-51022.pdf
Reading it might make your eyes glaze over.
So Musk didn’t “find it” as it’s been known.
However my quick perusal of the report suggests, sloppy or antiquated systems which certainly could lead to abuse and fraud.
Since my SS check makes up a large part of my income, hopefully it does get looked at.
