The fam and I started watching the ‘Quarterback’ miniseries on Netflix last night. We watched the first episode, and so far, it’s been really good. You see the side of Cousins that makes you like the guy, as they show the real him as he navigates the NFL season as a player and as a husband and dad. I’m going to watch the rest of the series before commenting too much, but so far, it’s been really good.

Minnesota Vikings News:
Sports Illustrated has comments from Vikings fans on the Netlix Quarterback miniseries.
Vikings.com looks at running backs in their Minnesota Vikings training camp preview.
From the Dallas Morning News, “NFL execs” still consider Dak to be a top 10 quarterback.
Just for kfey, ESPN looks at the top 10 wide receivers during Madden ’24 week.
Hey, we can all be happy, the Braves and Twins are both sitting atop their respective divisions. I’m really hoping for a rematch of the ’91 series. Time for revenge.
Video of the Day:
Something football-related to watch, hopefully the greedy SOBs at the NFL will allow this to embed.
From an article on Vikings Territory:
According to Bleacher Report, Minnesota will need shootouts to get the job done this fall and winter. BR’s Gary Davenport analyzed each division this week, determining the ‘best and worst-case scenarios’ for each.
Regarding the NFC North, he wrote, “The Minnesota Vikings won the North last year with a 13-4 record, but a leaky defense did the team in in the postseason. Shore that defense up some, and Minnesota’s high-octane offense is capable of scoring in bunches.”
Makes more sense than most ‘expert’ analyst.
My only concern about the offense remains the interior O-line and KOC’s play calling.
Less worried and actually encouraged about KOC’s play calling. He’s a very very smart guy, understands what he see’s, knows how to use his assets and knows how to pivot to an effective counter. He’ll be a strength that I’m confident in.
The IOL is absolutely a major concern. If Flores can semi shore up the defense then the IOL is easily the biggest weakness of the team.
KOC has a good chance to get better.
IOL has a good chance not to get worse.
These look pretty badass…
Personally, I like the classic white jersey.
I am not a foreign policy expert….But why can’t the Russian Military win in Ukraine?
I mean, I kind of think if we were to invade Canada (which I am in favor of) we would make short work of it….
Part of the problem is there are a lot of Russians living in Ukraine in the towns and cities that need to be captured. Thus Putin cannot just bomb them into submission without killing his own people. He also expected these Russians to “rise up” and help overthrow the towns and cities. That hasn’t happened to the degree Putin thought it would because the Russians have lived with their Ukrainian neighbors for decades. You’re not just going to kill your neighbor because Putin tells you to.
This has greatly complicated the calculus of the war.
Thanks.
Yeah kinda like Trump thought everyone would rise up and keep him in the White House. Dictator mindset isn’t always reality but more narcissistic arrogance.
They did… actually. He got enough votes to win, but the Dems printed and stole enough ballots to steal the election. If you really believe 81M people voted for Biden, I have some ice in Alaska to sell you.
oh really….the most secure election in the history of our nation, mail ballots the most verified secure method of voting there is on the planet and you believe fake ballots were printed.
Say you can’t accept you lost without saying you can’t accept you lost.
The Trump republican appointed head of elections said it was the most secure election ever. Bill Barr said he lost, Trump admitted he lost and said he’ll try and get his brain dead dumb supporters to try and overthrow the results, NVF I really don’t understand the disconnect from reality but hey…it’s a crazy world out there kid.
No it wasn’t secure at all… lies of the Government to the people again, and again, and again.
Funny how when Trump is in office it’s all truths and above board but when Biden or even a trump appointee say what he is saying isn’t fact…lies…
I believe you and those that share your politics are simply neo nationalists and like Steve Bannon want to dismantle our government and rebuild an autocratic power structure where a few control all.
I’d ask yourself, after all your service to this great country how you ended up here?
The Dem’s are building the autocratic Government they control. The DOJ, the IRS, the Presidency… judges legislating from the bench… etc, etc, etc. Pushing socialism which is the ultimate control of the populace and removal of their rights and freedoms. Check the attitude at the door. The Dem’s are hell bent on ruling us, not representing us. You believe in them, but one day the light will come on.
Why is it when potential crimes have been committed and the governmental departments investigate and bring charges (with proof mind you) the GOP buzz word becomes weaponizing the government when in reality it’s just these departments doing their job.
You’re still defining socialism backwards, giving more people the same rights and a system of government and laws to follow is not a losing rights, it’s ensuring you have them.
The whole a “crime has been committed” scam is ridiculous in the extreme. This is exactly what I was talking about. The Dems using Government agencies to destroy political opponents and convincing the public they are only do it for the good of all. No crimes were committed. The DOJ was weaponized, Judges are weaponized too. You cheer this on. It’s a horrible mistake to support this.
Lifer thinks its about rights. In Minny i see taking away money from people who earned and giving it away. 17.5 billion surplus and figuring a way to raise taxes and give it away too.
It’s a dimwitted concept that will destroy this country.
Unfortunately when PA was called the election was over.
If the republicans don’t come to grips with all this mail in and absentee ballots, they’re doomed again.
If you want to see some interesting takes on the current state of the Russian military, go check out Igor Girkin on twitter.
He’s the wonderful man that is a Former KGB officer and veteran that helped Russia take Crimea, and is blamed for shooting down the Malaysian airliner over Ukraine. He’s also a wanted war criminal. He wants Ukraine. Even lead one of the break away republics for a while.
Anyways, he posts all sorts of shit about the corruption that has rotted the Russian military.
He’s an interesting guy, and can be amusing for being a mass murder.
Brian O’Neill got engaged a couple of weeks ago.
That’s insider info.
Wasn’t there a Vikings player lots of people said dropped off on their production once they got married?
Was it Jared Allen maybe?
Dont recall Allen ever “dropping off”? Maybe being slightly less productive but he was always top starter material on the Vikes. I could be misremembering
I kind of remember that, but I think it was because his wife made him cut his hair and a la Sampson he lost some of his magic.
Man or woman, nevermind, those words are undefinable anymore
We have a Supreme Court Justice who can’t define what a woman is, because “she’s not a biologist”.
Video of Biden with Israeli President. Guy is losing it.
How so? Got a link?

I finished episode 3 of QB and my stance still has not changed, in fact it confirmed a lot of my reasons why Kirk can not be a SB QB aside from having a perfect team around him (which no team is).
Judd vocalizes a good point at 11:30 in this video.
I’ve watched all but the last episode so far. I agree with them.
It’s weird because after watching this whole thing I simultaneously have more respect for Kirk yet also question his ability even more to roll with the in-game punches mentally all the way to a SB.
It’s all the same arguments either way that have been said about him from the beginning. I hope it works out for a SB run with the Vikes–and it could–but I won’t be surprised if it never happens.
Correct.
I found it interesting the series focused on Kirk’s mental work ethic.
Yet when **it hits the fan, he seems to miss mentally in the most crucial game of the year.
I also dont recall either of the Mannings or Brady needing a psychiatrist. The fact he still stewed over missing a wide open KJ after the game was over that they WON, says something. As soon as the next drive, that play should have been erased from his mind, and it clearly wasnt.
Realty – “should have been erased”
I’ve pitched many a game and given up a homerun. But then you have about 40 seconds to get it out of your mind and get ready for the next pitch. And still, after the game, be pissed off as hell for giving up the HR.
Living in Florida (not DC) I’ve listened to a fair amount of Brady pressers the last couple of years and he’ll still be pissed about a bad throw he made in a game couple of days earlier. He’s a perfectionist.
You might want to talk to a few professional athletes.
Again, I played sports too and went through things mentally, you are not unique in that field so not sure why you keep bringing it up. You don’t talk to professional athletes either. My point is more so not letting it eat at you and degrade your mental focus and fortitude during games. Brady throws 3 picks, he still can come back and win a game. Cousins throws 3 picks, he folds mentally and gets rattled, there numerous examples of this every season he’s been here. Im not talking about an average dude playing sports as a kid, im talking about a Pro QB making millions. Brady isnt stewing over missed passes in games they won days after the fact.
-Stop with the excuses. Iv heard them all and im done
I’d think after just saying “oh fuck”, you just move on.
*frick
frack
Thats what the greats do. There’s time to dwell on shit when the game is over and you LOST. Not when its half way through the 3rd quarter and you still have time to get shit done and you need to focus. The Philly game, Dallas game, GB game. Just , done with him man.
I don’t dislike KC at all. Our problems go across the board. I dislike his contract. Now you got JJ who wants to be paid. The cap is not effective when you play position players a inordinate amount of money.
Don’t talk to professional athletes – I was one slick.
And I’m not talking about jackass JV ball or something..
And, where I live and some clubs I’m involved with, I talk to professional athletes all the time. I recently shared a locker with Case Keenun. And just last week stood on the driving range talking to Cousins as we hit balls. Was next to brian Urlacker on bikes in the gym for an hour just back
But oh yea, you know more no one could actually have more actual real information than you.
Oh, some free advise. If I couldn’t run a 10 minute mile, I’d leave the keyboard alone for a while and hit the bricks.
ouch.
Yea, shouldn’t have done that, but can only tolerate know it all assholes so much
I wasn’t being critical of you…it was a compliment of your burn.
Can Cousins hit a decent golf ball?
I watched video of a golf match last year between Adam Thielen and Cousins against Patrick Peterson and the Hitman. Cousins could hit the ball a fer piece, but mostly off yonder.
“The Woods are full of long hitters”
Harvey Pennick
He’s actually improved and hits it even better.
But oh. I don’t talk to professional athletes
This is just typical KFEY brow beating BS. Irrational and just anti Cousins no matter how congenial you are trying to present data to him. If you don’t hate Cousins, he hates on you. The end.
Typical beligenerent, arrogant wokester!
And the nerve to question us earlier today because of where we lived.
When it gets down that shit, you know what you’re dealing with… and there’s no reason to deal with that at all.
Catholic U Cards?
Exactly. I want him to prove me wrong. I will be yelling at my TV to prove me wrong this entire season. But until it happens, I have zero faith in him to get over his mental hurdles. Hes smart, tough as nails, but ultimately, like Golf, its a mental sport too, and it goes beyond game day prep.
That is the biggest crock of BS to ever come down the pike and of course you swallowed it like a porn star needing to pay the rent. WTF…now Cousins is a pouting headcase that has to get talked off the ledge lol….how fucking stupid and desperate is Judd the dork to come up with that crap. Oh….so Cousins gets upset, vocal, complains or gets quite because HE’s COMPETITIVE!! So he doesn’t you fucking haters would say he doesn’t care…you know what….
You stupid fucks.
By the way who are those guys in the video? I thought espn was bad
They’re some local Minny rubes, Judd’s written for a few of the rags up there but has been relegated to a shitty podcast now.
Moe larry and Curlly Joe
We doing Fantasy this season again? Id like to take your money once more. Need a new snow blower.
I’ll beat you guys again. Which QB do we want injured this year first?
Mahomes would be great.
I’m in.
But Mick said he was changing some rules.
Not sure what the rule changes are…..
If its auction league again I might be out, that format was dog shit. Snake draft with a keeper for next season would be preferred. But im probably in the minority.
I’m good either way. That was the first time I’ve done an auction style so i messed that up a couple times.
Same…plus they want to do one keeper…fuck that, that takes the best 12 players off the board. I’m not gifting $50 to these fucks.
Vegas has the odds of the Vikings winning the super bowl at identical to the odds of the Twins winning the World series…both at about +3,500 (35 to 1).
If you had to place a 100 dollar bet on one or the other, which would you choose?
I’d take that 100 bucks and buy some hunting gear.
well yes, I would spend it on booze and coke…but lets say you HAD to bet it…
Vikes
MN sports teams, house always wins.
Better chance you hitting a 59.
totally agree…I’m close!
I’ve shot 59 many times…
Don’t ask on how many holes…
Did it on a 9 hole par 3 couple times.
I mean, statistically speaking, the Vikings have less games to play to get there than the Twins. So Vikings. Neither are going to happen.
I would take the Twins.
Buxton came to plate 5x last night. Men on each time. 0-5 with 3 SO’s. He can’t even play center. .196 for a DH with a big contract. Minny sports.
I got ripped on the Twins subreddit before I was banned for mocking the Buxton extension instead of trading him. And once again, father time shows me right once again. He hits a few homers in April and everyone thinks all is well, meanwhile he has Todd Gurley knees and will more than likely never see the field again. Your DH cant be hitting under .200. IL him for the year, and seriously consider a way to move him.
Think he has a no trade thru 2026. Prob couldn’t get a bucket of balls for him anyways.
Yup, once again, a sub par player fleecing a Twins sports franchise. Name a more iconic duo.
I can think of another team and player.
I meant Minnesota lol.
I’d take the Vikings. They occasionally win a playoff game, and it is easier to get lucky in the NFL because you don’t have to go through series.
If I had to, I’d take the Vikings since I’m so used to being let down.
I have very little emotional attachment to the Twins.

Correct she should wear a thong

Any uniform post-1940 is new to Harrison Smith…
Wren, you sure like to rail on this guy.
Harry either stole his girlfriend or slept with his sister is still my guess.
Not true. A man’s testosterone levels start dropping 1-3 percent per year once they hit 40 years of age. Ergo, Harry has not felt desire for a woman in a long, long time…
I can’t help myself. 🙂
Railin’ guys is his thing, I guess.
Always liked Harry, maybe losing a step. It happens.
Harry agrees

Wife’s cat looks like that…
There’s an easy joke right here.
Laughing… yeah thought about that after I posted… grin.
That cat is hungry right now go feed it.
This is how I feel today…no ambition for much of anything
Biking into work today I saw one of the drug addicts/homeless guys that are so high they look like they are frozen in time.
Minneapolis is neat.
Nice…..
Did you see the homeless lady that was either passed out or dead in a field of tall grass in California? Guy with I’m guessing a brush hog type mower behind a tractor ran her over.
That’s messed up.
Hope the lawn is ok.
I’d call it methed up.

Ended up golfing this course over the weekend when I was in Deadwood for a bachelor party. We had 4 people, 2 team scramble best ball. Each player gets a mulligan per 9. They recently had 25in of rain in the area, so the last 3 holes in the valley were basically a giant sponge/swamp with a creek running through the middle. A good fairway shot could end up in the water or mud. Buddy and I had terrible follow up shots to our drives and I couldnt hit my 3 wood straight all day. We were about 130ish yards from the pin, buddy used his mully and it went straight into the water. I had to use mine, grabbed that same 3 wood, relaxed, and hit it, not straight, but more straight than it had been all day and laid it up on the fringe on the right side of the green. That, and a good put and a few good chips and drives keeps you coming back.
Exactly!! it only takes a few good ones!
It looks like a nice 9 holer….
That’s no way to talk about someone’s wife
I knew someone would go there….
It was! Beautiful weather, only sound was the wind in the pines for most of the course. We thought it was 18, so we just bought another 9 and went around.
Wait…I think I’ve figured it out. Jrobert and NLNVF are former Washington residents that left the area or bailed on the team (or both) when Cousins left, and are basically following him around and cheering for HIM and not specifically the team he is on.
This explains the constant comparisons to the Redskins (Im still calling them that) even though comparing that franchise, ownership over the past 20 years to the Vikings is one of the dumbest things you can do and also explains the fear of wanting a young stud QB. It makes so munch sense now. You all better save up for new jerseys once Kirky is gone, also, I dont think other teams have as well as ran blogs as this one so you might have to start your own, probably a 49ers themed one. Brad can help you out im sure.
My assumption is that they are Cousins fans first.
I might be wrong though.
They will correct me if I am wrong but I recall seeing both of them state “when I was in Washington”. And thats when it all made sense to me. They are 100% Cousins fans first, Vikings getting a SB second. They are fine with the Vikes getting a bowl but only if Kirk is here. Id be fine with that too, but I already know thats not going to happen simply how our cap and roster is constructed.
They are both from the DC/Baltimore area.
No doubt. So am I. But I grew up in the Twin Cities.
That sounds terrible
It is.
believe they’re both from Illinois.
I am, born in Belleville… but I’ve lived in 26 countries so what difference does it make where I’m from? Appears this is just some irrational excuse for someone to hate on me and do so very personally.
Ridiculous in the extreme and clearly evident to all.
I wasn’t hating on anyone, just hating on the DC/Baltimore area, Baltimore is especially crummy.
The Wire was great though…
True
So deep down you’re a democrat. Welcome back.
I think he’s actually an old East German Stasi officer.
How many many countries made up the USSR and the Warsaw pact?
I’m just going to randomly say 26…… which is exactly how many countries Comrade NLNVF has lived in!
Oh Great! Another Commie!
@Maybe they’re the same person@
That would seem like a lot of work to bounce between two accounts.
Why would you say something like this? Perhaps to impune things we might say?
Now as I recall, I am from Illinois and I believe NLV is too. Believe Bill Brown was the fullback when I first started to follow the Vikings.
We both lived in the DC area for years. So. we have some common ground talking about the screwed up Redskiins, but also remember when it was one of the best run organizations. We also both live in Florida now and talk about Brady and the Bucs some.
I could say more, but are we required to provide our credits to talk here. If so, I’ll be glad to – my football and baseball background for instance
Thank you for correcting me, so I was half right, you were in DC, both around the time when Cousins was there? Im just trying to get to the bottom of worshiping status of one specific player in the NFL you both seem to share is all. It just seems you are Kirk fans not Vikings fans so when the inevitable comes that he is no longer here, I am curious if you will stay or go is all. I played sports too, doesn’t mean much when we talk about the NFL.
No worships Cousins…
No one…
i worship who cousins worships
Profound…
And true in Freezey case…
I think many of us do….
JRobert has had many discussions on here that lead me to believe he bleeds purple and isn’t a standalone Cousins fan. NVF as well. They’re definitely old (😁) but I appreciate their perspectives….
Definitely old… for sure. Grin.
Just a subtle jab. I mean zero harm.
No harm, no foul Mjolnir… I’m self-aware… grin. We’re always good.
I assumed a shot across your bow would make you reach past the life jackets and grab another beer…
Perhaps you might browse a few threads. Don’t think you will find ONE post where I started a discussion about Cousins. I have responded, but not initiated.
Now, if you want to talk about other players, I’ll be more than glad to. I talk to a lot of players, get a fair amount of information, and would love to discuss. Love to talk about LB play.
Now when it comes to worship, I worship the way Brady played and I love the way Marino threw the ball. I also thought Dan Fouts was great the way he ran an offense.
Why are you so curious about me?
And what does it matter where I’m from? I don’t know where you are from and don’t really care..
It doesn’t matter… irrational hate is what it is.
No kidding about Fouts. Air Coryell was something to watch. Great pure thrower of the football – Fouts and Marino both. One of my favorite stats is that Marino had 87 career rushing yards. Still the quickest release I’ve ever seen.
KFEY has “us” figured out from his own jaded and skewed perspective. I still follow the Redskins, my wife was a Bucs fan when we were in Tampa during Jon Gruden’s Super Bowl run, and she’s a Ravens for the time being. Big Lamar Jackson supporter.
I think in general KFEY is projecting his irrational Cousins hate on me and you at this point.
Actually, I think it’s an old cheap lawyer defense. Try to impune the integrity of others’ so as make their arguments look weaker or biased.
It is exactly that, but with irrational reasoning.
And you assume I hate him. I dont, never have, never stated I do. I just dont want him on this team because I want a SB, that is all. If you recall when you joined here, I tried rational debate with you and it went off the rails because you refuse to acknowledge ANY flaw in Kirk what so ever. So you only have yourself to blame for how I interact with you on here at this point. We are both calling each other irrational, Im sure that will get somewhere productive.
It could if both of you use your irrationality for a common cause. Like fighting rashes. Or radishes. Or radishes with rashes – but don’t be too quick about it. Don’t want to be too rash when using irrationality to eradicate radish rashes….
Perhaps our hatred for the Packers, that usually brings everyone here together.
So why did you try to undercut my integrity?
Im not trying to do anything. I point out what I observe and perhaps lay it out tongue and cheek. Number one rule on this website is to assume everything is sarcasm.
Nothing I say is a personal attack, I know no one here personally, and assume all here and good people in the real world and I like to think I can get along with anyone. If you feel attacked on here, im attacking your internet persona, more than likely to a sarcastic level. Just let it flow.
That’s a copout KFEY.. you are over the top personal with folks who don’t hate on Cousins day in and day out. You get very worked up insulting them.
Eh, maybe. But my point stands, its the internet. If you cant stand the heat then get out of the kitchen. Again, idk your name, what you look like, how you sound. If you take attacks at your name on your screen made up of pixels, as an attack on your physical person, thats on you. I say you take things here too personally and need to step back. I do it myself from time to time because im self aware enough for that. Also why Im not on here on the weekends and only use it as an escape from work.
OK fine. but if you want to argue. let’s argue. But where I come from, or even my motives or yours for that matter, should not be an issue.
And might we stop the “God authority” thing to argue —— I just want to win a SB so therefore everything I say must be better than yours because I’m coming from a higher calling.
Lol there is no God complex. At all. Thats in your own head. But, I would think all Vikings fans would want a SB win above players personal gain. Or am I wrong?
No – but only if one thinks his point of view is better than the next guy’s envoking some higher calling – like I just want to win a SB.
Others can have a different way and still want a SB win also.
And again another false narrative – “I would think all Vikings fans would want a SB win above players personal gains.” Oh gosh, do I still beat my wife?
Cook to the Patriots?
Via DraftKings Sportsbook, The Draft Network’s Jaime Eisner tweeted the live odds for Cook’s next team on Monday:
Heard that a couple times. Wish he would just sign, getting tired of Cook crap.
Idk why we still care here, he’s not a Viking anymore, idc where he goes or what he does. Im a Viking fan.
Overall yes.
He still a former Viking.
And many are interested in what he signs for.
Im curious where he goes, I think he has one more good year left before he really bottoms out. But Idc about the betting odds of where he lands.
Vikings are not even listed?
Thought that they had put an offer on the table.
That was never confirmed, that was coming from his agent who was just trying to push teams to make an offer.
Rainy day here in Lincoln, USA….
Not much longer until training camp.
My training camp dreams:
Zero injuries
Calvin Pace & Andre Carter show enough to make the roster and make an impact. I love Pace’s college tape – he’s undersized but doesn’t play like it (reminds me of Sam Mills) Carter’s potential is also intriguing.
Jordan Addison. Be worth the 1st rounder.
OL – Be nasty, Be aggressive
DL – See OL
Lewis Cine – make the comeback complete by earning the starting spot and salvage an awful draft by KAM
Skol
There was an article about our new TE Josh Oliver and his effectiveness in the red zone during OTA’s. The commentary went something like this… “he’s so big none of our linebackers could cover him or stop him in the end zone”.
I worry about our inside linebacking corps. Undersized, and overmatched does not bode well for us I fear.
Make him a RB on 3rd and short.
You need studs for ILB on a 3 -4 defense
Undersized for certain. And in a traditional 3/4 I’d agree that a thumper is usually coveted at the ILB spots. Not certain if Flores intends on a traditional 3/4 with players that meet those height/weight requirements or more of a hybrid given the current roster. The undersized ILB trend is odd to me – Arizona deployed Deon Bucannon that way and he was effective for a time but fizzled out.
Calvin Pace hasn’t played in like what, 10 years?
*Jr….
Sorry, I get it now, you meant Ivan Pace Jr., yeah I hope he makes the team too.
Lol… just realized I did that. Was talking to my buddy about Calvin Ridley while I was typing that. Hammer dum dum…
LOL, yeah IDK why but it didn’t register for me at first and for some reason the old Jets player Calvin Pace came to mind.
As it should. I’ve got too much football stuff in my brain and sometimes it just sprays into word salad.
Haha! I do stuff like that all the time now.
Yep… I do as well… comes with the territory unfortunately.
Twins suck. I don’t have to watch them.
SO 14 times last night, thats over half the game if you do math.
All the other division leaders have a better record.
There are 10 other clubs fighting for wild card with a better record.
Did i say the Twins suck?
Bring on football.
First victim of the year.

Not the woman attacked.
These are the same people allowed to vote. Think about that.
Correct.
Not much common sense.
Yeah, I think they should take the signs down warning people to stay away and just natural selection do it’s thing. I’ve seen people getting within 50 yards of a griz sow and cubs to get their pictures. These people are dumb and it wouldn’t hurt the populace to cull a few.
Natural Selection at work.
This from the Manhattan Institute regarding electric cars…..
“I think it’s morally consequential. It’s geopolitically consequential and socially, economically consequential, The subsidies and the mandates run the risk of causing maybe the biggest misallocation of capital in modern times in the industrial markets. Hundreds of billions of dollars are going to be spent chasing these mandates, requirements.”
“And it won’t, as the report shows, it won’t achieve the goals intended and the attempt to do so will have enormous economic and social costs because the underlying premises are either incorrect, too poorly understood or too difficult to quantify in order to take the actions that are being taken”
Study casts doubt on electric vehicles’ climate, cost benefits: ‘Won’t achieve the goals intended’ | Fox News
But hey, it feels good so let’s ruin peoples lives in a misguided effort to save the world.
I saw that story as well.
We all know that we should do the opposite of what the “smart government” people want.
Gotta be some crazy right wing organization that conducted the “study” and it’s simply full of lies.
Lifer is cutting and pasting from his list of comebacks right now…..
Just right wing propaganda meant to destroy the earth, especially neighborhoods and countries of colored people. Just racist right wing indoctrination.
Yep. right wingers are so smart that they can direct climate change to kill certain neighborhoods.
Keeping that one DE… nice.
This is what we will all be driving someday…well, those of us that are left…
i still have yet to watch the quarterback show.
but i find it shocking there are disagreements about cousins still.
I’m ready for Cousins to retire just so everybody here agrees on everything. No Cousins debate = no Skoloholics debate, right?
until he takes over as head coach!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
LOL.
You maroon.
The ring of honor and HOF debate will rage forever.
Here is the common ground.
Cousins is a good QB.
Cousins is a great person.
Cousins is tough.
The uncommon ground is when some people want everyone to worship Cousins and thinks only Cousins has to deal with tough conditions being an NFL QB.
i would agree with your “good qb, great person, tough”
but i don’t understand how you don’t understand who cousins is the only qb who faces opponents who are trying to sack him. how is that lost on you.
LOL….
That’s blasphemy right there Freeze.
but no one has ever said that… just DE going off Freeze…
i enjoy playing both sides of the argument.
Laughing
If you are able to play both sides you double your odds on a Friday night!
But as Margaret Thacher said – if you walk down the middle oft the road , you get hit from cars going both ways.
DE… seriously, no one has ever proclaimed we should worship Cousins. Stop with that BS hyperbole. Also, no one has ever said he is the only one to deal with tough conditions being an NFL QB, so stop with this false narrative as well.
Cousins was the most hit QB in the NFL in 2020 and 2022, and 5th most in 2021. Overall since joining the Vikings in 2018, no other QB in the league has been hit, knocked down, sacked, and pressured more than Cousins. In that time frame Cousins has the 4th most passing TD’s and 5th most passing yards in the NFL.
I just like putting things in context, which you in turn, create fantastic and false claims about.
Just accept the reality that Cousins HAS been hit more than any other QB in the league over the last 5 years while also being one of the most productive QB’s in the league. That’s the point I have made. Don’t extrapolate on it.
In return, it would be nice to not get treated to the “you hate Cousins” no matter what hyperbole.I doubt that happens.
The random postings of Cousins stats to show he is top 5 and compared to Brady, Mahomes, etc…. is hyperbowl.
We agree on most things about Cousins.
DE HATES COUSINSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
LOL…
He hasn’t though, you are pushing false statements as facts. Russel Wilson, Carson Wentz and Watson have been hit MORE than him in that time frame, and Watson missed a full year! So fact check your feelings before you say bs like
When that’s not statistically true.
It is statistically true…
You can state it’s not, but the stats are there that show it. It’s been detailed a lot. I sent you proof in a link, and yet here you are saying things that aren’t true.
Over the last 5 years, Cousins is the most, hit, sacked, knocked down, and pressured QB in the league.
Go compile the actual data over the last 5 years that proves me wrong.
Cousins is also handsome, but I wouldn’t put him in a supermodel category. When he smiles, he looks a little too predatory.
He could probable model for JC Penny. Not Kohl’s level, though.
LOL….
JCP>>>>>>>Kohls, I will die on this hill. Kirk couldn’t model for either, maybe TJ Maxx, Ross, or Marshalls though.
Scheels is probably looking for a new spokesperson since Wentz is pretty much out of the league.
I love Scheels, great store.
I’ll die with you. The next time I walk thru a Kohl’s will be with a flamethrower.
False, saying Kirk is good triggers the Kirk lovers and they’ll respond with bulk stats to portray him as better than good, it used to also trigger 5 and Kodiak and they’d come back with super eloquent things like, diaper boy and pants shitter.
Fair point.
Skol and good morning
Skol!
I have watched the first 2 episodes of Quarterbacks, I know everyone says it is about an elite QB, a middle of the road QB and a bad QB. But, I see it as a very confident QB, who is not afraid to show it, a confident QB, who still shows his humility, and a QB that has completely lost his confidence.
I’d agree.
Good assessment.
I thought this take by a Vikings fan was spot on when asked how watching the series has changed his opinion of Cousins.
“I left the show thinking, man, it doesn’t matter the circumstances, Kirk Cousins is always going to be ready to play,” Ben said. “Nobody talks about a player’s availability, we talk about how well he can perform on the field but he can’t perform if he’s not on the field. That’s the most underrated part of Kirk Cousins’s game. He’s always available. I was watching like, ‘How is he getting up after getting whacked right there?’ Every other play he was getting pounded into the ground and he keeps getting up.”
Well, you know, every NFL QB does this.
Maybe not getting hit as much as Cousins, but they all get ready to play.
This concept is not unique to Cousins.
That’s completely spinning the meaning of the comment. He’s not speaking about general basic pre game prep, he’s talking about after taking a beating how the next game he’s ready to go. To play in Buffalo after the absolute beating he took in Washington and to perform the way he did there was not a better turnaround by any QB in the league last yr if not in the last 10 yrs. It was amazing.
So no other QB in the NFL takes a beating and gets ready to play the next game? That’s a false narrative by you to assume it only applies to Cousins.
As a broader point, it is amazing how NFL players take a beating and continue to play the game week in and week out. Some get hurt. Some don’t. Cousins has been fortunate to not get hurt badly.
So it is amazing Cousins hasn’t missed a game due to injury yet.
Again spinning the actual to minimize the individual because you’ve branded yourself a Cousins criticizer. We’re not talking about every QB, you are. We’re talking specifically about what COUSINS did last year. You just want to wash it as nothing to see here and Cousins is just FORTUNATE to have not missed a game due to injury. Forget the commitment he takes off the field to be sooooo fortunate.
You’re such a fucking tool.
“so no other QB…..” – got to hand it to you. You work really hard to deflect any type of favorable comment towards Cousins.
To assume only Cousins gets hit, takes a beating, and plays the next week is terrible.
Every QB gets hit, takes a beating and plays the next week. Mahomes played on one leg for 2 games.
It’s not unique to Cousins, at all.
Stafford dislocated his finger, popped it back into place and finished the game.
@no way. only Cousins has these issues@
That one still stands out to me because it was so ridiculous. Russell Wilson dislocated his finger in the same game, missed the rest of the game and the announcers wouldn’t stop talking about how Wilson was one of the toughest QBs in the game.
Yeah.
I mean you have to be tough to be an NFL player.
And just the dichotomy that game of saying how tough the guy on the sideline is while the other guy is playing after having almost an identical injury.
It would have been hilarious if the TV commentators called him a pansy for not playing.
Philip Rivers tore his ACL and meniscus, finished the game, then went out and played the entire game the next week.
Must you misstate or take things out of context to make your points. Feels like I’m back in DC dealing with bunch of democrats.
It’s simple anatomy! Take a guy who gets hit 6 times a game and a guy who gets hit 16. Who has tougher recovery? Compound that week after week?
Now, I’ve pitched baseballs right after having a dislocated finger set. But throwing with a broken rib – give it a try and let me know.
Broken ribs are no joke on the pain/discomfort level. Cracked aren’t any better. Broke one when I was a teenager falling off an ATV and cracked a couple doing a hostile patient extraction at the mental hospital – breathing hurt, couldn’t sleep, couldn’t stand too long, had to walk gingerly for what seemed like weeks. No bueno.
It is for sure the real deal!
One Flew Over The Coo Coo’s Nest reference.
That’s exactly what I think when people claim it’s not Cousins fault ad nauseum.
Except no one has ever claimed that at all, much less ad nauseum…
Come on – Who has ever said that here? I have never read that. but I’m new.
Now, I know full well about folks creating false narratives and then arguing against the strawman they created.
Think we had a former president that was particularly good at that
Nobody has ever come out and said exactly that, but there are people here who will literally make an excuse for every bad play Kirk has ever made and they will do it ad nauseum.
Really? I’ve never seen a single instance of this Ben.
You do it every single day
I’ve never once done it.
LOL
Since I do it every day (in your words) it will be easy for you provide an actual commentary I’ve made where I have made an excuse for every bad play Kirk has ever made.
I’ve never done anything of the sort.
Fair. But I’ve also noticed when he does something really well, there is another group that is fairly light with praise.
Kirk didn’t have a broken rib
Not sure what “rib injury” he had… bruised, cracked, broken, whatever. He did have a rib injury though and it was clearly illustrated in the “Quarterback” series.
Yeah, he definitely had an injury bruised for sure.
He did. He told me
I reviewed a Nazi-zombie-vampire movie with famous actors before they became famous, directed by a fallen A-list director.
Cousins’ toughness is unquestioned. But Joe Nelson of Bring Me The News did question how sustainable it is, urging the Vikings to consider the risks of signing him to a long-term deal considering his age and the amount of damage he’s sustained as the Vikings quarterback.
“You want to sign a guy who you just watched on TV get obliterated? It was brutal,” Nelson said on the “Purple Insider” podcast, referring to Cousins’ rib injury throughout the 2022 season. “He’s 35 years old. it’s not going to be sore, it’s going to be injured eventually. You can only be durable for so long. I would not risk signing him to anything beyond this year.”
Vikings OL ranking.
Not terrible at all.
15. MINNESOTA VIKINGS (DOWN 2)Projected Starting LineupLT Christian Darrisaw
LG Ezra Cleveland
C Garrett Bradbury
RG Ed Ingram
RT Brian O’Neill
Yeah they were way worse than 15 last year BUT this ranking may be close or a little on the high side. Probably fall somewhere between 20-25 in reality but our tackles bump up our ranking because of how good they are.
That was the adjustment the Giants made in the follow up game they played us in the playoffs last yr, they focused their stunts and pressure through the interior line and we had zero answers for it. I don’t think that changes much this year as this group can’t get it done and are only so talented.
I don’t know if anyone noticed in the Netflix series in that second Giants game there was one pressure on Cousins they showed and at the snap all the stunts by the DL was happening and our own interior guys tripped over each other and fell down lol…I mean fuck these turds are pathetic. Maybe they improve but honestly I think they’re just not very good.
PFF has a pay wall to get their OL rankings for 2022.
A different website had the Vikings at 19.
I don’t think the OL is the only issue though.
Cousins historically has had one of the slowest release times in the NFL.
I’d bet if the Vikings had a 10th ranked OL, Cousins will still get hit a lot. Likely not as much as 2022, but still significant.
Thought KOC was brought in here to get the ball to JJ like the Rams did for Kupp. JJ gets doubled all the time, so it takes time for him to beat that and get open. The QB must wait for that the play to develop. Cousins does that and as a result takes hits.
Still, our OL doesn’t pass the eyeball test, esp. at guard – regardless of what PFF says.
And his release is as good as anyones. hardly slow.
He’s ranked at the bottom of the NFL in release time in the past. I think it was better in 2022. It matters.
Did you know that Cousins time to throw is actually in the middle of the pack of starting QB’s for 2022?
You would think that with a “terrible OL”, he would have the least time to throw. But he doesn’t.
Where did all these wonderful stats come from. Have you watched our guards block? Aren’t they two worst in the league?
Now, another little stat – Mahomes is number 1 in completed passes thrown beyond 10 yards. And Cousins you guessed it is number 2 in the league. You may not have not noticed, but you can flick your wrist for a 10 yard pass, but some wind up is required for 30 – 35 air yards.
Time to throw stats aren’t the end all be all you would like to make them. When Cousins executes a play action pass, that play takes around 4 seconds in “time to throw”. Those plays when averaged in with the rest of the throws tend to make the average a little higher.
What one should look for is the number of times the QB is pressured in 2 seconds or less, and then develop a percentage off that data.
I also would like to see data on throw aways. Cousins does hold on to the ball as long as he can in the pocket, waiting for routes to develop downfield. That also counts as “time to throw”. How often to we see Cousins getting blasted as he throws the ball? A lot.
I’ve never seen this data anywhere.
LOL….get the fuck out of here…release time lol. Viking linemen tripping each other and getting carried in to the QB’s lap and the documentation that from the time of the snap to pressure in his face is the shortest in the league over the past few seasons you come up with…..slow release. Tool.
LOL.
So if Cousins holds on to the ball too long and takes a sack, it’s not Cousins fault?
Got it.
Cleveland Bradbury Ingram are a pile of shit. Darrisaw and O’neill are very good players.
I agree, to date they have been singularly bad. DE is posting someone’s projection here. It’s important to note this is a hope, and we’ll see if the projection pans out. If so, I’d think our offense could be amongst the best in the league.
Love that stat…he is a tough som’ bitch..
Post it often.
Good Morning. We have a great LT so at least we have that.
