When I was in Mississippi, I worked on a home in a swanky neighborhood. The house next door was owned by an NFL player (can’t remember name). It went into foreclosure a year or 2 after he retired.

Spent $300 in November to get a snow blower that I bought off my brother in law last year looked at. I think the carb is shot, but the guy I took it too knows his stuff, he cleaned out the carb, replaced the auger belt, spark plug, changed the oil, leveled the bucket, tightened all the handles and pulley controls etc. I picked it up, thing started like it should ran great. Well its sat in my garage since then, We got a few inches of wind blown snow and the city clogged up the drive way, figured good time to use it for the first time, could NOT get the SOB to start, pulled and pulled, finally it ran, for under a minute then died on me again. I was pissed, and didn’t have time to mess around with it anymore, shoveled 90% of the drive way then made supper. Trying to think what else I can do with out spending more money or what might be wrong. The gas is treated, dont think moisture got in there.
Damn snow blowers are the worst for that shit…Don’t know what to telll ya, as soon as I win my bet on the Vikings winning the SB I am buying a big expensive all electric snow blower then I will be done with that crap – LOVE my electric lawn mower.
Hopefully the manly men who know how to fix shit can give you some advice.

I do have a lot of electric stuff, weedeater, shop, vac, air compressor, all kinds of stuff. Dewalt makes some awesome shit.
Our accountant told me to buy lots of tools this year, so I listened like I always do.
We don’t get much snow in our parts – I suspect you’re in the same boat – so I bet a battery powered would work well assuming you don’t have a lot of terrain to cover.
I have a little single stage Toro and it works great with our snowfall – in Rochester it would not have been so great.
I LOVE my battery chainsaws. No more of that mixing gas BS.
Have not used the snow thrower this year. Fingers crossed it will start – I have last year’s gas with StaBil in it, it started in November and just enough petrol for one snowfall. Then I can fill with fresh gas.
My only tip for kfey is always use 91 octane in small engines.
Battery chainsaws are awesome. My next purchase is gonna be one of those 60 V Dewalt chainsaws.
I have the 20 V, works great on small stuff, but often need something bigger.
I have two Makitas, the bigger one takes two batteries, whatever the voltage is, will saw up a pretty good sized tree on two sets of batteries.

Well, I had gas in there from the spring before, but it was at like..half a tank. Then when I got it back from the shop it was full…soo im not sure if he emptied it and refilled it or just topped it up. I might be giving him a call to clarify.

He told me around October gas stations in cold weather places change gases out in gas stations, Idk if its synthesized differently but it burns differently than gas thats there in the spring and summer. Idk the guys worked on engines his entire life. I just rolled with it.

Makes sense. So yes the stuff in my little tank was from Sep or Oct so im going to put that in my truck and just refill non ethanol in the tank and go from there I think. I really need this thing to work when we do get slapped with a storm.
Non- ethanol is key, that shit sucks, I don’t use it. Period.
I use it in my truck and just use de gum additives and add that to the tank to clean out that gunk every 3000 miles. I dont see the sense in spending an extra $1 a gallon on fuel.

Most modern vehicles will actually run better on regular ethanol gasoline. Newer vehicles are not designed to run on higher octane gas. Regular gas out here is actually a lower octane than what you have back there to compensate for the higher elevation too.
Unless you’re running a classic vehicle, it’s a waste to put higher octane gas in most vehicles.
I use 91 in everything.
Total waste of money. I only worry about ethanol free in small engines. My four wheelers, auger, mower, chainsaw, etc. If you look in your owners manual it will say what octane gas is recommended and I would bet it’s not 91.
My wife’s recommends 91.

Modern fuels already have those same additives. Running some sta-bil through once in awhile isn’t a bad idea, but probably isn’t necessary unless your vehicle idles a lot.
Do they store the summer gas in a heated shop?
Maybe just light a bonfire next to the tank, keep it warm.

I don’t need/own a snow blower, but I have seen many at auctions that are in mint condition that sell for half of the new price. I’ve come very close to buying, just to re-sell.
After reading all of the comments, after you try new gas, my next step would be to replace the spark plug. It’s easy and cheap and they tend to foul easily.
You could also try shooting a little starter fluid into the carb and let it sit. If there is any moisture in the carb the starter fluid should dry it up.
Can even take out the plug, and then just use an Emery cloth to clean off the lead.

Still wouldn’t hurt to pull it and make sure it is clean.
When you have the plug out pull it over a few times. We would always try that when we fouled the plugs on a snowmobile.

Lee Trevino, Gary Player, Matt Kuchar, Steve Stricker, Tiger Woods, Mark O’Meara, Stewart Cink, Fred Couples, John Daly, Annika Sorenstam, etc. Gary Player is 89 years old, is 5’6″ tall, weighs 150 lbs, and can still hit a golf ball with authority, and play at a high level. Amazing. Trevino is 85 years old. Glad these guys are still able to come out and entertain us.

The Chargers defense looked like a sieve the first half of the game. They seemed to get it figured out in the second half. It was an entertaining game and the Denver Paytons lost, so that’s cool.

Yup, Mahomes and Allen are the only ones who deserve 50+ million a year, imo. Maybe Burrow also. Eventually some of these teams are not going to keep doing it. Just because you’re the next man up, doesn’t mean you deserve more than the last guy that got paid.
