Apparently, a congressman from NJ wants to use a nuclear sub to “rescue” the tourists in the sub. How much would that cost to move a nuclear sub ?

You’d have to find it. Deepest sub rescue was 1,500 ft. My gut tells me the hull breached and imploded. Oddly enough, they can’t open from inside so even if on surface oxygen will be a issue.

I’ve been watching episodes of I Shouldn’t Be Alive lately. Crazy the stuff people survive. This missing sub thing has a hard time limit, though.
One of the episodes was about a yacht called the Trashman that capsized. Sounded like a horrible experience. Five people in a raft with sharks all around. They got sores from sitting in polluted water in the raft. Two of the guys started drinking seawater and went nuts. They went in the water and the sharks got them. Another one died because she had wounds that go infected. The last two got picked up by a Russian ship. It sounds like the ordeal was traumatic enough that one of the survivors eventually committed suicide.
I probably would have went for a swim and the let the sharks get me after a certain amount of time.
Getting eaten is one of my fears, but I suppose if you were trying to fight something off, you’d be full of adrenaline and not feeling much for bites. Probably bleed out pretty quickly with shark bites.

DE, and all, that nuclear sub is not capable of reaching the Titanic… it’s 2.3 miles down. This idiot Congressman is wasting time and holding up a British rescue submersible insisting the U.S. Navy should handle it. The U.S. (as of this morning) has withheld permission for the U.K. to go search for the lost sub. In the meantime every second counts. This started on Sunday and the sub had 96 hours of emergency oxygen.
That’s what I was thinking, but I wasn’t sure about the technicals on that.

Think they are designed for attack depth. Hulls are not that thick.
You are correct, there are many factors such as stealth materials, maneuverability, emergency ascension functionality, weapons systems, etc that make it impractical for a submarine to be operating beyond 1,500 feet or so.
At 2.3 miles under the water, the pressure is equivalent of a building the size of the Empire State Building made out of solid lead on a vessel. Nuclear submarines dive depths are classified, but they are well above this depth range, and I mean very well above it.
If Fievel Mousekewitz can find his family the Vikings can win the SB, even with Kirk at QB, never say never.

Working around operating aircraft on a flight line is dangerous work. Most folks who work in these environments are acutely aware of the dangers and the safety training programs are extensive. I don’t know the details here, but getting sucked into a jet engine would require someone to violate the “no go” zone in front of the engine.

Absolutely. Brady is truly one of the greatest QB’s of all time, but he was never on a bad team until last year. He put up huge numbers last year, and the team went 8-9 (but still won the NFC South). The Bucs put up 32 TD’s to the their opponents 41 TD’s.
Watched most of Bucs games last year. Could tell he wasn’t a happy camper. I don’t think he ever recovered (or quite forgave) from the Rams playoff game where after bringing them back the defense gave up a cheap score to lose.
