I am the most optimistic and hopeful about the Vikings this time of the year, especially when they didn’t totally suck the previous year. I’ll probably feel more glass half empty after KAM sucks at the draft again, but until then I feel like the team is in better shape now that it was at the end of the season.

YES! I like the Flores hire, defense should be able to creep into the 20-25 range instead of 31. Offense should be better year 2 with KOC. They won’t likely win 13 games again, especially if they have a negative point differential again, but they’ll still likely be a better team and probably win the division, though I think Detroit will make the playoffs this year.
Just gotta keep this guy on our side and all will be fine.

-The way he plays, the style of person, the workout guy, eating bananas with the peel on them — he’s just a little tightly wound

-The way he plays the game is super mechanical. He has obvious arm talent. It’s just the release — you can see it in the pro day, there’s a certain I’m throwing the ball on this step on my rollout-type situation where it just doesn’t look natural. And then just the game tape, he doesn’t feel things as naturally as any of those other (top) guys. Pocket presence isn’t there
-It’s just his physical traits beyond his strong arm, athletic, probably a little too muscular so he has stiffness to him at times
Compared to Hooker:
-Hooker is maybe my favorite one out of everybody. He’s so cool. And he throws the ball. I thought I was just going to see a bunch of bubble screens and stuff that you normally see out of those types of offenses. He pushes the ball downfield (and) throws seam routes as well as anybody
-he’s a smooth thrower. He’s got a quick release. Liked all the elements of him throwing the ball
-It wouldn’t shock me if he ended up better than (Anthony Richardson and Will Levis)

24 games, 65.7 % completion, 5233 yards, 43 TDs, 23 Ints, 269 rushing yards, 11 rushing TDs (something about the rushing yards doesn’t look right, but that’s what ESPN says).

The wonderlic test is more like an intelligence test. The S2 Cognition test is about the speed with which your brain processes information.
Not sure about football, but in business the test was dropped years ago as it was considered discrimatory.
And if you check the scores up top, some will claim the same thing with the S2 Cognition test.

Apparently Cousins recently took this test and “crushed it”. This test (the test folks say) rates a QB’s ability to process information, specifically in playing the position of QB. No idea, but Cousins said he was nervous about taking the test because it might reveal weaknesses but in fact it showed it’s actually a strength.

Well actually to your point it measures decision making and according what I heard on the podcast Cousins decision making is exceptional. So Cousins decision to throw the ball to Hock on that play was the correct one.
For you, I’ll say this… he either gets sacked or gets the ball out on that play. He got the ball out to the only receiver available to him. You don’t think that was what he should have done, and you criticize him and even suggest he sucks because of your perspective. That’s your prerogative.

No KAM/KOC said they would never like to throw a rookie in year 1.
My guess is they overpay Kirk to stay another year (he would have the leverage at that point) or they get some no name loser bridge QB and pretty much suck in 2024.
Part of why they SHOULD absolutely draft a QB this year if they want to move on from Kirk. However, if they don’t I think it signals maybe Kirk around another year or two but we’ll see

Why not an Xbox Series X? Why the S?
S is cheaper. I can’t justify spending $500 on a video game system. I only upgrade when systems get in range of $200. Right now the S runs about $240, so this winter they should be close to $200. I don’t game much in the nice months.
I think the main difference between S and X is that X can run physical hardware. S is all cloud.
Plus, this means I am usually a couple years behind in video game technology, and all the games are much cheaper, too.

I’m still happy with my One X and haven’t finished playing all the $10-20 games I picked up a year or two after release.
My grandson saved all his money for a Series X and I asked him how it is better than mine…and I quote “uh it looks cool has a green glow…and I got the upgraded ______ controller that like you can program buttons and stuff”.

Glock 22 with an additional rubber grip. Even the stock Glock is too small for my long fingers. I end up locking the slide back mid-magazine or releasing it when it’s empty.
I did get a Walther 99 AS awhile back that is fairly comfortable to hold.
I have not shot it, though. I got it because it was the newer James Bond gun and wanted to have it because of that. They are discontinued now, and mine has never been shot, so I might just keep it in that condition. Maybe…

My best score on a nine-hole course was 45 on a par 36, so maybe I am actually great and don’t know it!
You would be surprised. Those have to be 40 years old. I moved from 20 year old clubs to current clubs (3 year old model). I gained 15 yds per club and hit them far straighter too. I shoot around 85 for 18.

Still playing 25 year old clubs. Upgrading this summer at some point. finally breaking 100 consistently.
Best score I ever had was an 18, as in I drank 18 beers and over the course of 18 holes, no clue what the score was, the final number was illegible on the score sheet.

Unless you are a low handicapper or spend a lot of time on the range and have a grooved in swing, I’d get the most forgiving irons I could stand looking down at at address.
Had a guy in my golf league w similar clubs 2 years ago. He bought a very inexpensive set of modern clubs and easily dropped 5 strokes off his 9 hole scores. Makes a huge difference.
I could hit a ball 180 yards with that.
I use a really ghetto putter. Probably made in 1990s. For some reason I like it and I play better with it than the new putters out there.
I haven’t found that new putters make much of a difference…I used an old old one until the paint started chipping off and every one gave me so much shit I bought a new one…The new one is fine, but my putting did not improve.
Forgiving irons make a difference though – even more so than high tech drivers.
This reminds me of a funny story. One of my friends had to go golfing for a work outing. He was not a golfer at all, so he went and bought a set of clubs at a rummage sale.
He shows up at the course, and one of his partners goes up to his bag and pulls out the nine iron.
“Oh, wow!” he exclaims. “Do you know what you have here?”
“No,” My friend says.
“This is a Sammy Snead nine iron. This is a collector’s item, one of the rarest clubs out there.”
“Really?” my friend asks.
“Oh yeah,” the guy says. “If you showed this to the guy in the club house, he’d give you $2,000 for it easy.”
“Really?”
“Definitely!”
And the guy went on and on until he had my friend firmly convinced. My friend then goes into the club house and tries to sell the nine iron to the guy there, who says, “I guess I could give you $3 maybe…”
My friend looks out the window, and all the guys in his group are laughing their buttocks off.
