Watched this clip. Might be the most poignant expression of what the Democrats are about, and what Trump is facing, I’ve ever heard. I wish every American could hear this message, and see the reality of our political world today. Wake up and smell the coffee liberals. You are not progressive hero’s defending the Constitution. Just read that MSNBC viewership has fallen well behind Fox News. Nielsen Media Research indicated a 53 percent drop in primetime viewership since Trump’s election.
I don’t watch much news on TV, so I don’t follow Fox or MSNBC.
Yep they even had to fire Joy Reid.

I have to say Joy Reid absolutely epitomized TDS over the years.
I could see her/it/they moving to The View.

Yeah, I have only seen a few clips of the view so I don’t know much about it, other than it features Whoopi Goldberg and Joy Behar. They are huge anti Trump haters, and everything I’ve ever heard from them was wrong.
So adding more “Joy” to that show would probably be a natural call.
But they did do us a ‘Solid’ when they asked Cackles what she would have done differently than what FJB did.
Her answer was worth a few $100M in advertising for DJT.
It is a sad statement on our country that she was ever in the White House as Vice President. Even sadder that she was in the running to be the President, based on her immensely limited intellectual capacity, and inability to lead anything. It is absolutely disgraceful, and shocking, that Kamala Harris won 74,999,166 votes or 48.3 percent of the votes cast.
How could we have that many people voting, who are that stupid?

Yeah… Joe Biden got over 81M votes… that election was stolen without a doubt. Rigged as rigged could be.
Even sadder, in 2020 every democrat knew what they had in Biden. Remember him campaigning in Iowa and NH – fourth and fifth. Then the machine took over.
And certainly everyone knew what they had in 24 even before the debate.

The Democruds are more interesting in The Brand then they are any nebulas ideals like ‘policy’ or ‘good of the country’.
Beating DJT is their guiding light and everything is justified to achieve that goal.

Tomorrow’s forecast is for heavy rain, so the wife is driving my car to the gym. Her Challenger is always polished and clean, and in the garage. She’s OCD about “Black Betty” too.
Yea, going to be a beautiful day here in Orlando too. Tomorrow a lot of rain, but we need it. Hit some balls this morning, pleased with contact and trajectory. Putting and chipping later.

Hey JR, great to hear from you. I shot 44 the other day on a crowded course. Took 3 hours to play 9 holes. I hit the ball pretty well, chipped OK, and putted poorly. Missed at least 5 putts inside 8 feet. Se la vie. If bad putting is all I have to complain about, I got it pretty damn good.
Nice to talk with you. For sure, slow play just kills the fun of playing. And I can never play well when it’s real slow.
What do think about all the three and four stars getting the boot?
As a former senior leader, I will tell you over the last 25 years, the military has grown steadily more liberal, and woke. I was really an outlier, much like in Hollywood. The 3 and 4 stars were raging liberals, who were all academics. They were promoted as much on their backing and belief of liberal narratives and initiatives as “merit”. I was an exception to the rule, promoted fundamentally on what I accomplished. I resigned my position shortly after Biden was elected, because all I saw on the horizon was this circumstance worsening exponentially. Trump is taking on an overly woke military, and returning it to a fighting force the world fears and respects.
Hegseth was an excellent pick in that regard.
I admit I was wary of his selection. Yes, he’s a Princeton graduate, and yes he’s a conservative, but I saw him as a TV celebrity, not a SECDEF. I understand the full scope of the military from a policy perspective, as well as the length and breadth of the mission requirements around the globe. I learned all this over almost 50 years of service. I didn’t think he had that requisite level of understanding to really be effective. So far I see him doing great things though and couldn’t be more pleased.

I feel that this is true of most nominees for SecDef. They work in the system and understand the bureaucracy or they are war fighters who understand accomplishing the mission. Seldom both.

A story you might enjoy. One of my best friends was a retired Marine and during Viet Nam had been a company commander and one of his Platoon Leaders was James Jones who wold go on to be the Chairman, JCS.
So one day, my friend says you want to go to lunch with Jones who had just retired – i jumped at it.
At lunch, Jones told this story. He claimed Rumsfeld completely screwed the military and their method of selecting flags. He said previously, all three and four stars were recommended by the respective service chiefs and SECDEF just rubber stamped it. But Rumsfeld changed the rules. He personally demanded every selectee had to be personally interviewed by him. And if they didn’t agree “completely” with the way he was running the war, they didn’t get promoted.
Well, Bush left and Obama came along and the precedent set was continued. Only the new administration had a different agenda – DE, wokeness etc.
Let the service chiefs select their flags.
Politics is going to play into it no matter what. That is what happens when humans get involved.
DEI/Wokeness ‘screwed up’ the selection process. Rumsfeld’s system works fine now that Trump is using it.

Have been told that one and two stars “earn” it but three and four stars have a fair amount of politics.
An example, and I’m not sure if it good or bad.
Mike Mullins was selected as Charman, JCS as he was the most liberal four star in all the services and as such selected because the WH wanted him to integrate women on ships and as aviators.
Not sure this is the best reason for picking a Chairman, but it happened.
The Air Force wrote into their official policy that reducing the number of white males in the force was a primary objective in their personnel plan for 2025.

Well, I was part of that era, so I am well versed on it. Rumsfeld and I didn’t agree on a lot of things, but I was promoted, because he felt my accomplishments, and rationality met his standards.
I do want Trump’s “merit based” selection process implemented, as it is reasonable and rational, compared to the woke, DEI process that grew over the years.
Merit not DEI is again the ‘Law of the Land’.

As I recall you were AF. If Rumsfeld hadn’t been there, wouldn’t you have been selected based on your abilities and accomplishments by Chairman of the AF?
Yes, I served under the AF Chief of Staff in my early years when he was a Colonel. He and I disagreed politically, but he could not deny that everything I was ever in charge of achieved its mission in an exemplary manner.
BTW, Dick Meyers was the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs at that time, and I knew him very well.

I understand the OCD thing – I am OCD as well. I like things orderly, neat and clean. I have a firm, unfounded belief that if everything isn’t in its proper place WE’RE ALL GONNA DIE!!!!! I know it isn’t rational, but goddamn it helps me get shit done. About once every six weeks I get manic and will stay up for 36 hours cleaning and organizing, dusting and vacuuming.
Need batteries? Top drawer of my office desk.
Stamps? Kitchen ‘junk drawer’ along with an assortment of chargers (organized by size and style) twist ties, safety pins and a dozen Bic lighters.
Nails? Screws? Push Pins? – all neatly placed in jars and old pill bottles, labeled and organized, sitting on a shelf above my workbench.
It’s good that you embrace your wife’s OCD – I’m guessing she’s whip smart, organized and rarely caught off guard. All good things.

I am OCD about avoiding things like cleaning and organizing.
Actually when I notice something small that needs picking/straightening I usually take care of it then and there. Usually.
Moving was a great opportunity to organize things, we reduced our ‘stuff’ by about 1/3rd and pretty much organized the rest. Still more to do but have we kind of hit a lull. I blame election, holidays, gym and winter weather. See I am organizing my excuses for not doing more organizing.

We went out to a Mexican Restaurant last night after our appointment with the Tax Preparer and a bit of shopping.
We picked the place because it was close and we had a $20 off coupon. Once we sat down we learned that the place was voted the Best Mexican Restaurant in Idaho. It was a relatively small place and at one point during our meal there were 11 people standing near the entrance waiting for a seat and some more just outside.
The food was excellent, the service even better and only 4 miles from us. It felt like it was a real find. Bonus; the portions were large enough to bring enough home for a couple of lunches for me. I am looking forward to it already!
Hey SoCal, that sounds great. Finding a quality place to eat, close to home is awesome. We just recently located a Chinese place that is only a mile from us, and rated very highly. Their food and service are excellent. Need to find a good mexican place closer to us. There’s a place we like, but it’s about 12 miles away.
We have noticed a few Chinese places in the area but have not tried any of them yet.
We don’t eat Chinese often, unless you count Panda Express, but we enjoy it when we do.

For whatever reason we have many very good Mexican places around but hardly any good Chinese. Like you, Panda Express is about as good as it gets.
This Panda is pretty good, fresh and they pack their bowls and plates pretty good.
Same with Chipotle, in SoCal you never knew what you were going to get.
I live in the Near South neighborhood of Lincoln, Nebraska. In the shadow of the state capital. Very lucky that I’ve got Chinese, Mexican and Cuban places – including an amazing and cheap Mexican bakery – all within a stones throw of my home. Couple of food trucks in the area too.
Have not seen any Cuban places around here. Does Mark make some good food?
