Vikings News

After a busy first week of free agency, it has been a little boring this week. I am glad the Aaron Rodgers rumors have cooled. I would have hated that. JJ is the QB. There are still some things to be done, but this roster already looks much better than last seasons.

So are the Vikings waiting on something like this?
Mayonnaise Boy aka Will Levis and a 6th to Minn for a 5th.
Evidently they are thinking drafting Ward and moving on from Levis.
So him with his 21 NFL starts to back up JJ (QB). he’s still on his rookie deal.
Thoughts? Better than Flacco or Tannehill?

Sorry, I missed it. I do hope folks understand that the Dem’s have been stacking the courts since the Clinton era, and Trump in his first term fought back on this hard. He appointed 239 judges, after Obama appointed 239 judges before him. Then Biden appointed 235 in his term. There are only 45 vacancies that Trump can appoint someone to now. Talk about “unelected officials” running the country.

Justin leaking oil a little, pulls his tee shot on 18 into the left rough. No way to get to the pin from there.

Yes we didn’t want The Douche and Tannehill (and Flacco) is a better option at this point to mentor JJ (QB).
But they do not even mention the cost and damage to our cap space involved if we brought in The Douche (or R. Wilson).

You read these far more than i do. Have the Vikings ‘officially’ announced, like KOC or KAM, that JJ is the starter next year. Most articles I see, are quite fuzzy with a fair amount of weasel wording on this. Heck, why would they even be talking to Rogers, he’s. not a backup.

KOC has not announced McCarthy as the starter, but by default he is, since he’s the only QB on the roster realistically speaking, vice Brett Rypien.

In any case we don’t need to be adding any high cost, long term contracts to dubious FAs. Maybe even roll some extra cash into next year.

Congressional Republicans are turning up the heat on Chinese influence in the U.S. with new legislation aimed at shutting down Chinese “police stations” operating across the country. These covert outposts, reportedly set up by the Chinese Communist Party, are part of a more significant effort to monitor and intimidate Chinese nationals and dissidents living in the U.S. The proposed bill seeks to counter these foreign operations, which many lawmakers consider a serious threat to American sovereignty and national security. The move underscores growing concerns over China’s expanding reach on U.S. soil and its efforts to interfere in American affairs.

Thanks Joe Biden.

The left will tell you If legislators were to impeach judges for purely political reasons, they would be tossing aside a centuries-old understanding that if the impeachment power is used to punish judges for their rulings, it undermines the vital independence of the judicial branch.

This is misguided though. When judges rule for purely political reasons, they must be removed for purely political reasons. Their “independence” must have checks and balances, especially in the political world. We are seeing up close exactly what happens, when there is no recourse or will to rein in activist, politically motivated judges.

This is a slippery slope. As soon as the roles are reversed, Dems will be impeaching conservative judges they “deem” are making political decisions.
Better for Roberts and his court step up right now and fix this situation. He’s the leader of that so called independent branch. So if he doesn’t want outside help, like from Congress, clean up his own backyard.

If a judge decides to intervene on Presidential powers, he should only do so based on fully evident and clear Constitutional compromise. Infringing on the Executive branch without said Constitutional compromise makes the judge the one violating the Constitution.

Appointed by Democrat presidents (504):

Joe Biden: 235
Barack Obama: 239
Bill Clinton: 30
Jimmy Carter: 0

Appointed by Republican presidents (374):

Donald Trump: 239
George W. Bush: 114
George H.W. Bush: 10

Gerald Ford: 0

Since Bush Jr gave us Roberts, I don’t trust him much to appoint.
This entire system is broken and needs to be fixed. I don’t know the answer, but this is mess. Go to a Dem appointed judge and you get this answer. Go to a Repub appointed judge and you get the opposite. That is ridiculous.

I think Bush miscalculated on Roberts for sure. He was a “moderate” conservative, and very much a Constitutional originalist. Bush was trying to get someone appointed with as little fuss as possible politically, and he succeeded. It seems though that as you mentioned, Roberts has been playing both sides against the middle, making him unreliable.

Hey JR, I watched the Levin show. I knew pretty much everything he discussed, but it was still an important show for most people. I was talking about the number of justices that were being posted by the left in the Clinton era. Back in 1998 I had a very good friend who was a History Professor, and we would talk about exactly what Levin was talking about tonight. Efforts to appoint liberal judges to federal courts intensified during the Clinton Administration and he said if this trend continues it will be the judiciary that runs the country.

During the Obama Administration the left continued to focus on filling judicial vacancies with progressive judges, especially after the 2010 midterms. This has been the strategy of the left all along; to rule the country via the judiciary. That way they can prosecute their political rivals and doom them, or jail them. Sound familiar?

He seems to play politics with his decisions often.
Doesn’t rule on the merits of the case but how the decision will be ‘perceived’. “A 6-3 decisions looks too political so lets make it 5-4”, “Oh voting for this decision will make the court look bad lets vote the other way” or “The Libs voted with us on one decision so we owe them one for ‘Their Team'”.

And his “There is no ‘Obama/Biden Judges’ or ‘Trump/Bush’ judges!” What a load of crap, he is not that stupid!

There are clearly politically motivated, “progressive” judges, attacking President Trump. The American people see it clearly. To pretend that all judges are fair and impartial, is angering. These judges must be removed from the bench for exceeding their authority, and ruling against the President, because they’re Democrats.

Ummm the Dem’s are already using the judicial system as a weapon against their political rivals. The Judiciary must be cleaned up. Any judge who is using his bench to politically attack anyone, including the President, needs to sent packing. These are lifetime appointments. Only the Judiciary can remove them. They are not answerable to anyone. VERY dangerous when they are weaponized politically.

The Titans let Tannehill go after the 2023 season. He sat out 2024, stating he would only consider coming back for a team that was a contender, with a good O-line, and good receivers. All the good teams had their starter signed though. He basically was “available” if a starter went down that allowed him to play for a good team. That didn’t happen.

Well he didn’t play anywhere last year, makes it less likely he will get a starting gig.

Read that since he didn’t play last year he won’t figure into Comp Pick calculations so that is why Vikings are interested. Flacco would but after the draft they could sign him and the Comp Pick calculations are closed for 2026.
We are currently in place for 2 picks and supposedly the Vikings don’t want to mess that up. Seems like getting the right guy now would be more important. Maybe Flacco if he is still available after the draft if not then Tannehill?

Seems we have a SB ready roster. But we have a rookie QB who hasn’t played a down and coming off a season ending injury. Think the QB2 position might be a little more important than it usually is this year.
Getting it right might be well worth a comp picket.

Laughing. My wife is immensely “different” and anyone who knows us clearly sees we are the “odd” couple. She is gym rat, and biker chic, and I’m classic James Bond. She has tattoos, and often dresses in leather, and I wear suits and ties. She is very muscular, and fit, I have let myself go a bit at 70. I can still fit into my uniform after all these years, just can’t do 60 push-ups like I once could, and run a mile and a half in 8 and a half minutes.

Read that 60-70 year olds should be able to do 10 pushups so I tried it. I could only do 6 correct ones, I need to work on that.
Of course if I did Air Force pushups I could get away with 20 or so but doing correct ‘meet the 45 degrees with the arms’ pushups not so much.
I have not done any since I got out in ’98 and I am more concerned with cardiovascular work outs since heart conditions are still the greatest killer around.

I don’t understand couples ‘fighting’. In a fight you are trying to hurt the other person, why would you do that with some one you love?

A trick a friend told me.
After my knee and shoulder injuries I was a physical mess. Pushups were really hard and hurt.
Friend told me just start doing one or two every hour. Started at one every hour. Gradually worked up.
Now do 12 every hour and it feels good.

Pushups are great for upper body and core strength. I have been working out with a bow building that but it doesn’t seem to translate to pushups.
200 draw and holds with a bow (in a day) does not seem to equate to 10 correct pushups. Like I said I need to work on that.

Congrats on the pushup workout, 12 an hour is impressive.

If you just start at one perfect pushup an hour ( just 8 a day) to start. Then just proceed as you ‘feel’ it. You will be amazed how good you get at pushups, and fairly quickly.

That may work. But the idea is you are really training your nervous system to make your muscles work better. You should never feel tired or spent and it should not affect any other activity you. might want to do.Thus you can do it all the time.

When I work with the bow I feel it from my upper arms/shoulders to my stomach, including my upper back. Pushup may not effect the bow but I suspect the bow will effect my pushups.

So, the country has been subjected to the Dem’s insistent position on transgender issues for many years now. It was so weird to most people, and really, you had to wonder why they went “all in” on this supremely fringe issue.

Well I read a comment that sort of rang a bell on what this was about. The comment I saw said the reasoning behind it was to take the mantle of the new civil rights era. Democrats wanted a “Rosa Parks” moment. Put in those terms, all their vacillations actually make sense.

Unfortunately, this hugely misguided sentiment only resulted in at least two-thirds of the country viewing their stance as weird, along with communication breakdowns and overall strangeness regarding accepting biological men pretending to be women.

Now, they have to try extricate themselves from this wrong headed initiative, but will they?

They don’t have to. You have some take an extreme position so you push the middle over slowly. There are enough people that will still vote for the extreme lefties. It’s all about shifting where the middle is. They literally wrote it down like a century ago and nobody listens. Bernie Sanders isn’t even a radical anymore. That’s how far they’ve pushed the last bar of extremism. A gut who was the most extreme of the party not long ago is really now a moderate.

Hmmm… very true. I guess it boils down to how “bad” the extreme takes are for the citizens in the end. I’m hoping this past election was really a reflection of the “normal” people rising up to say “OK you guys are wrecking everything, and destroying the country”. Maybe a “I’m mad as hell, and I’m not going to take it anymore” moment.

The somewhat insidious “insider network” of the left is actually being confronted and exposed. Hillary should have had her clearance revoked for life, banned from working in the Government ever again, and gone to jail when she sent emails with Top Secret/SAP information in them, to people with no clearance and no “need to know. She sent these emails through her personal server, that was not secure, and really not authorized to transit U.S. Government data.
