So, Jonathan Taylor wants out of Indy. The Colts allegedly expect a first-round pick in return for the 24-year old running back. In 3 seasons, Taylor has rushed for 3,841 yards (even though he missed 7 games last year) at a click of 5.1 yards per attempt. With running backs currently carrying as much value as a can of Spam, it’ll be interesting to see what the Colts get for Taylor.

Minnesota Vikings News:
The Vikings signed XFL standout QB Jordan Ta’amu, according to the Duluth News.
T.J. Hockenson stated that he WOULD be ready for the week one opener, according to the Star-Tribune.
Over at Vikings.com, they look at Vikings position battles as they head into the final stretch of the preseason, and U.S. Bank Stadium sits atop the Athletic’s list of best NFL stadiums.
The Colts have granted Jonathan Taylor permission to seek a trade, according to NFL.com. The Colts reportedly want a first round pick in return for Taylor. Hey, haven’t they heard about the running back recession we got goin’ on?
Video of the Day:
I’m drawing a blank tonight, I’ll just go with a can’t miss classic. Here’s One by Metallica.
Slow day or did a bunch of you get cancelled?
Heat got em all
Cardinals have a number of ex Vikings on their roster including DB’s Kris Boyd and Nate Hairston, QB David Blough and Center Pat Elflein.
Update: Executives don’t believe Jonathan Taylor will net the #Colts a 1st round pick/package that is worth that much, via @AlbertBreer
Breer asked multiple execs about how much Taylor is worth in a trade with the new contract involved:
AFC GM: 2nd round pick
AFC exec: 3rd and 5th
NFC exec: ‘Package in the value of 2nd or 3rd’
2nd AFC exec: 3rd or 4th
2nd NFC exec: 2nd or 3rd, ‘Less than the McCaffrey trade’
3rd NFC exec: ‘Maybe a day 2 pick’
3rd AFC exec: 3rd round pick
4th AFC exec: 2nd round pick
4th NFC exec: ”Possibly a day 2 pick’
5th NFC exec: A 4th that could turn into a 3rd under play-time conidiations.
The story by Breer is here:
si.com/nfl/2023/08/22…
The issue is the contract. He’s going to want $10MM a year. He’ll pitch a fit if he gets franchised.
GOLF BALLS?! We need a golf ball thread now?
What till we do tee’s! Wood or plastic oh my might get as contentious as the Cousins debates.
Rodgers will make his debut as the Jets QB on Saturday against the Giants. Big hype going on.
What in the world are the Browns up to? They just restructured the contract of TE David Njoku, creating $2.736M in 2023 cap space. Cleveland now has close to $37M in cap space.
There are “some guys” out there that could help them sustain a run to a title. They’re not as far off as people think. I think Christian Wilkins is a game changer and might be had for the right trade package. Chris Jones is still not reporting to KC and is a game changer. Browns don’t have any 1st rd picks to offer after the Watson trade so maybe they’re just shoring up the future books knowing the massive $63.9 mill cap hit Watson’s contract is going to bring each year in 24,25,26. Yikes.
Justin Jefferson averages 9.52 targets per game for his career. He averages 6.48 receptions per game. Think about that. A RB will average 15 or more touches a game. JJ will make fewer than 7 plays a game.
Not knocking JJ, but that’s really not a lot of plays for the kind of money he’s about to make.
BTW Cousins averages 34 pass attempts per game for his career.
Interesting. But he also draws a lot of attention from defenses that makes plays going elsewhere easier.
What’s the right amount of money for this, I have no idea.
Me either, but the Vikings averaged 65 plays a game last year. JJ was targeted on 14.6% of our plays. That means 85.4% of the time, JJ is not getting the ball thrown to him.
No idea what league averages are for WR’s.
That’s a lot of money for a decoy.
It matters more what JJ does with his 6.48 receptions compared to what the given RB does with his 15-20 touches.
Let’s examine JJ’s last 3 seasons and compare his stats to a pretty darn good RB.
……..Season…….Touches/Catches/game……Yards…..TDs
JJ…..2020………..5.5……………………………….1409…….7
DC….2020………..22………………………………..1557……16
JJ…..2021………..6.3……………………………….1616……10
DC….2021………..19………………………………..1159…….6
JJ…..2022…………7.5……………………………….1809…….8
DC….2022………..15…………………………………1175…….8
Who really cares about yards, anyway – at the end of the game they don’t crown the winning team based on yards gained. Dalvin slowing down? Yes, but last season only 5 RBs had more yards than he did, so he’s still relevant.
With the exception of his rookie year, JJ exceeded or met Dalvin’s TD and yardage production with fewer than half of the touches. Look at 2021 – JJ scored 4 more TDs but had 1/3 the touches.
Why is JJ not worth absurd money?
Just ate some spicy pad thai.
Good, but now I have to go help coach football practice and I’m sweating just standing in my garage.
No Bueno
I don’t think we’ve ever had the discussion on what golf balls people prefer here.
I’m usually a chrome soft x-LS (low spin) in the silver box, triple track if they have them.
Of course Pro-V1 are by far the best quality balls, I’ve done the research, seen their facilities, 1 out of every 11 million made is imperfect. That’s the gold standard.
Do you like high compression (hard) flies farther, spins less, less greenside feel?
Low compression, more spin and greenside feel, compresses off irons more?
2 layer (typically harder balls)
3 layer (softer but extra layer adds spin reduction)
5 layer (an abomination, it’s not a pastry from the Middle East, it’s a golf ball FCS)
Today I played a Bridgestone Tour-BX for about 13 holes straight, really liked it kept it the whole way through. Great off the tee, ok around the greens not quite as soft as a Chrome Soft LS but close enough. I ordered a 3 dz box to try them out further.
Titleist
There’s about 20 different kind. Care to elaborate?
True Feel is their softest ball and one I also like when I want a low compression ball in the winter.
Doesn’t matter much. Whatever is on sale.
As an amateur, a golf ball isn’t going to change my score.
Its just what I’ve used and what I’m used to.
Probably all mental.
Top flight XL
I don’t actually golf.
I just was informed one time that those balls suck.
Great balls if you find yourself in a rock fight on the course.
Bridgestone Tour B RX for the last ten years.
Great ball. Just ordered 3 dz Tour B-X today.
Pro-V1x
And if you’re going to play a good ball, might as well use Vokeys to spin it well around the greens.
I don’t create much spin on the ball, but I hit it high with my irons. Sort of control my “run out” with trajectory, rather than spin.
that strategy worked really well for both Nicklaus and Watson. You’re in pretty good company
Well, I WAS born on Jack’s birthday…
And I was born on Arnold’s.
I was born on Tony Finau’s or should I say he was born on mine lol…
I have ea 58, 56, 54, 52 Vokey SM-8 wedges. I bent them 2 degrees flatter to help promote less of a pull left which helped immensely with wedge shots. By far the best wedges and its not even close.
The V1-X is also my ball of choice with the pro v1 line. Less spin than a pro v1 regular. Pro v1 has 388 dimples, Pro V1x has 348 different sized dimples to reduce spin. Great ball, maybe the best and probably is.
White
That’s racist.
Kirkland golf balls. Pretty good price for what you get and amount.
word on the street there identical to pro v1s
Fyi…they’re not close to a pro v1 that is all bs. You get what you pay for with golf balls in both quality and performance.
The 3rd gen which is out now tests very similar to Pro V1. Harder cover vs G2 so more durable. I like them a lot.
Let me guess….Kirkland is doing the testing? Funny they pick far and away the best ball on the market and say theirs tests similarly. Why not pick the best 2nd tier ball?? Pretty simple, pick the best most expensive mainstream ball and say yours test similar. I’ve played them and they feel nothing like a pro v1 to me, much harder and not nearly as soft and responsive around the greens. Not terrible balls but the pro v1 claims are marketing strategy to people that don’t want to pay $55 a dozen for premium balls.
Nope. It was an independent reviewer. Compared it to a few different balls. Tested for distance, feel and durability.
Did something different today – watched the Little League World Series this afternoon. Some really good baseball. Tennessee beat Nevada 2-1. Very well played game
One thing struck me a little different – the kids are about a foot shorter than Major Leaguers but the strike zone is about a foot taller.
Good watch if your interested.
There was a kid from another country, he was throwing like 86 mph lol… that’s crazy as a young kid standing in against that kind of heat. LLWS is a fantastic watch, kids compete hard.
That’s the only thing I hate about LL – the ENORMOUS strike zone.
Might as well tell the kids “Swing. EVERYTHING is a strike.”
Here’s a cool pic to use for a daily thread, The Hunter and Agent Zero.
I hadn’t realized that they have the ends of the numbering scheme covered… 0 and 99.
Awesome!
I don’t think Cousins has ever done this in his career, but if he completes 438 passes this year, he’ll surpass Fran Tarkenton at 18th all time in pass completions. Cousins currently resides at #25 all time, one completion behind Alex Smith. Cousins will likely leap to #19 all time with an average year.
It’s doable this year. His top mark in a season is 425 which he did twice, 2018 first year in MN and last year. With the way this offense is set up he could potentially come close. If the running game ends up being ineffective then I see a lot of pass to set up the run but hopefully the running game is good enough to run to set up his passing which makes this offense much more deadly.
I think it’s doable, but Cousins would have to throw the ball at least 645 times with a 68% completion percentage to do it.
That’s a bit of a different list. Some strange names above and below.
I think a lot of factors come into play
If Cousins were to play three more seasons after 2023, he could have a shot at getting close to the top ten, but every season is its own story.
Given our IOL blocking and the defense(?), don’t think it would be a bad thing for his to successfully run the ball more. Don’t kill me – I’m not saying Zimmer ball.
May have a playoff game in Philly in January and you can draw some cold, nasty weather. Being able to run the ball is a real plus under the conditions.
Cousins has played a lot of games in Philly late in the season in his career. He clinched the NFC East title in Philly in 2015 on December 26th. Cousins completed over 67% of his passes for 365 yards and 4 TD’s with a 120.3 passer rating, and the Redskins won 38-24. Cousins is from Michigan and now lives in Minnesota. He can play in cold, wet weather.
Remember that game. I’m not worried at all about him playing in nasty conditions. Some of his teammates …?
Also think having a good run game would be good for his ribs
Oh I totally agree that it would be awesome if the Vikings actually fielded a running game that could, you know, pick up third and one for once. Yes, yes, yes!!!! A running game that the opposing defense has to respect will save Cousins a lot of wear and tear.
And JJ will actually also get some better looks.
Too humid for me. Ick
Always thought he’d get trampled to death by a wounded animal.
Any chance the Vikings bring in Ibraham for a workout?
They love working guys out just not signing them. I feel he’s used up.
Was somewhat surprised that the Lions waived him, was a beast at Minny.
Cine dead
He’s having his captain patch sewn on.
-Mick
Lol
Man has his star fallen.
From starter with who looked like he may develop into a pro bowler to barely making a roster as depth.
For anyone going
and if there’s rain in the fucking forecast, they’ll cancel. Pansies.
Rain or snow, deal with it, but with this team’s history I am ok with them trying to avoid the heat.
I’m okay with avoiding the heat, but there is no way on earth that you cancel shit because of a forecast that’s accurate 1/3 of the time.
Same. RIP Korey….
One time I was working a football camp while I was in College and I think it was Marshall Faulk was the celebrity at the camp. It was raining out and he was under a tent signing autographs. My job was to make sure people only got 1 thing singed. But I tried giving him shit that all these little kids are out here in the rain playing football but all these grown ass men they’d cancel practice and go hide. He put me in my place and said, yeah and if the coach did continue practice and the QB got injured on shitty grass/turf due to the weather costing the owner millions that coach would be fired lol.
With Baker being named the starter for the Bucs game, does that give Flores some advantage when it comes to game planning and practice? Is there a “book” on Mayfield on how best to defend him?
Just have the DL stand up tall and he won’t be able to see his receivers.
Brilliant!!!
Mayfield is listed at 6’1″ but he looks like he’s 5’10” on the field.
He is probably 5’11” of 6’ even if I had to guess, no way is he 6’1”. I’m 6’1” and this is a guy I worked with at the balloon factory who is about a half inch shorter than me when he ran in to Baker in Charlotte, he lived in the same building downtown as Baker.
Man that balloon factory must have a generous retirement pension you look all of mid 30’s.
I misread the post duh I thought you were in the pic.
Cute couple
It was very obvious it was going to be Baker. Doubt they changed anything for prep.
Maybe 95% prep and 5% trask but now 100%
Tried to create an account on the DN, apparently Vox does not allow the profile name CousinsLovin’
Too triggering for southerners, gets them all in a lather.
Yep, just ask Lifer.
You know why a fella in the south won’t marry a virgin?
If she ain’t good enough for her family, she ain’t good enough for him.
Did someone say CousinsLovin’?
I think I’ll try KissinCousins tomorrow.
You know no amount of logic will sway many right? They have stated their position already and now they can’t sway from that position. Just dig their heals in more.
I can still give people things to read 🙂
They don’t know how to read lol
Mick… case and point?
I wish I had been around the DN when Rhodes was a rookie or even sophomore year. I can only imagine the comments about how bad he is.
Right?
Harry started slow too.
rmemeber the first round picks like Patterson and Treadwell buried behind
5th rounder Diggs and UDFA Thielen?
I was there, and there was some chatter of Rhodes sucking after year one. He didn’t really flourish until 2014 when Zim got here. He had some really good years before age caught up.
I saw him in person at the 49ers game last year.
He could close on a play very quickly. Just seems to take him a bit longer to learn the playbook.
I’m giving him another year. D-backs have a lot of info to digest.
I think Flores is going to help his development a ton with his style of play from college
MT, did you get that water drained without making a huge mess or giving yourself a hernia?
Speaking of hernia, what does it feel like? Can you simply pull a muscle and produce similar symptoms such as pain right above and around the testicle? Asking for a friend.
Depends. Some are basically painless but it would be pretty obvious. When I had one it was a smaller hole/tear I guess so any lifting felt like I was getting kicked in the gut and made me want to throw up. Mine was between belt and groin, almost right in the hip joint area.
Sounds unpleasant, I’ve hear of people being able to deal with it for long periods of time without surgery, but the person I know of was a college buddy, his was down right by the scrotum and he thoroughly enjoyed showing off his softball sized black/blue/purple sack to anyone and everyone.
The doctor I had, for whatever it’s worth, said mine hurt more than some because it was smaller and any tensioning of the abdominal muscles was forcing fat chunks through the tear. A bigger tear doesn’t have the tension and restriction but can lead to pretty bad outcomes with the intestines.
I’ve had five and three different operations. At first you get a burning in the inguinal canal area – not the testicle are, although pain may shoot down there. You also will get a bulge to varying degrees that may get larger with time.
Lifting in a way to creates abdominal pressure will usually bring on pain. May not always though.
Just enrich your local imaging department by getting an inguinal ultrasound. A radiologist has got to eat!
LOL, ok.
It feels like a hernia
DUH
Well it went smoothly all things considered but not completely painless. The contractor had borrowed my 25 gallon compressor so I was using a smaller 5 gallon pancake style. I didn’t want to get rust stains on my pristine driveway so ran a 25 foot hose to the gravel. Ran the compressor empty holding the air stream next to the hose end and no prime, I kinked the hose and since it was taking too long for the compressor to refill went ahead and took a suck, got an almost instantaneous mouthful of water tasting like washing soda (the electrolyte) and rust. Cough cough spit spit my wife ran the fresh water hose and I flushed out my mouth. Pail emptied. We dragged the pail over to the gravel and dumped the hydrant out, I stood it up and sprayed all the sludge off and it looked pretty darn pristine. The cathode-anode relationship is pretty line of sight and it looks like one of the iron rods failed to work for some reason so I just needed to wire brush one quadrant of the hydrant. On to painting this weekend.
Zero mess in the shop or on the driveway.
Oh I did the hauling and spraying in my tighty whiteys much to my wife’s chagrin but I knew I was going to get covered with flecks of rust and paint. Fortunately the neighbors would have to be using good binoculars to see me.
Man doing mans work in his briefs……doesn’t get any more serious than that….
Some Packer blogger once stated that Watson has a higher ceiling than JJ.
What are they lacing those cheese curds with? Wasn’t it GF who found a tweeter guy claiming Love was gonna be MVP this year?
People are blowing off the Packers, but I wonder. They have good backs and line. Coach is known for putting together good running game. May be a little Shanahan Lite offense not requiring too much of the QB. May be tougher than folks think.
I also think the Packers won’t be a dumpster fire, if for no other reason than to be a continual thorn in the side of the Vikings fans.
They’ll be a total dumpster fire this year and draft Williams.
I think they win 6 games.
Probably once against the Vikings.
they’ll be a middling team, good run game, good defense, scrub QB.
Considering Rodgers couldn’t get them to the playoffs, how is Love going to? I’d say middling is the best they (and us) can hope for. 6ish wins, not a great draft pick, but still basically irrelevant. I expect domestic abuse cases on Sunday nights to be pretty high in cheese land this fall.
Yeah, those women in WI are tough……
Yeah, I think 6-8 wins is what they are.
I’m most interested in seeing how LeFluer is without Rodgers. Like did he have to submit to Rodgers, and he has maybe been holding his true brilliance back? Or did Rodgers totally make him? Now we will find out…
Well, the evidence at hand is Rodgers has never had a bad season, not by normal QB standards at least, and has won MVPs with different HCs. I’d say cramholes job was made much easier having Rodgers when it came to x’s and o’s but much more difficult in every other aspect.
The Pack is going to suck again, and I am going to love it.
Oh, the refs will still manage to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat when the Vikings play them.
You forgot to mention they’ll have a stud rookie TE and I ain’t talking Musgrave lol.
As I type this I know that as a Vikings fan, it is stupid to post. But Love was the FBS leader in interceptions for the juggernaut that is Utah State. Let’s see how he performs with pressure.
Wonder how many those other guys might have had with an additional game.
Calvin Johnson had one game with 1492 yards
Torry Holt did not have any other season over 1400 yards
Brown had two possible years, 1499 and 1533 yards
Jones would likely have had at least one with 1593 yards, 2 seasons over 1400
Harrison with 1524 and 1413 yards
So potentially 3-4, but what JJ has done in 3 years stands apart.
I didn’t mean to diminish what JJ has accomplished, I was curious how close those others would have been, particularly Johnson, thanks for the stats!
And Calvin only had Stafford throwing him the ball. Imagine if he had a real QB like Kirk.
Yeah, so true
One game with over 1492… holy shit. haha
Probably against the Vikings
Well in addition to his 2 games over 1600
He’s so different too. He isn’t a physical freak where he is longer, faster etc… than everybody guarding him. He has those tools too but I really think what sets him apart is how fluid he is in his movements and his attention to detail and concentration.
What sets JJ apart are two things. First he wants the ball and isn’t bothered by contested space. He will fight for the ball and take big hits in the process of catching it. Second is his drive to finish. He wants to get as many yards as possible on every catch, and score if he can. He pushes the limit on every play.
A lot of people are getting their clicks right now trying to say X pLayer better than JJ.
kknda funny to me… because it works.
LOL
Get a garage losers
I used to help my brother and his wife with their painting and cleaning business in the summer. (Iowa great lakes area) We cleaned a multi million dollar house weekly, I asked my brother what the owner did for a living, and he told me he folds boxes. I laughed, he said he started out in his garage folding boxes and now has contracts with Anheiser Busch, Pepsico and many other companies.
Imagine your in-laws reaction when you tell them you are quitting your job and folding boxes in your garage for a living.
A buddy of mine started out helping her mother package quilting patterns and mail them. That is a multimillion dollar business today and she no longer has to work.
I started out selling polaroid pics of my B-hole, and now I have a website!
Skolly right now….
Levis just opened the floodgates. Watch draft candidates start to do all kinds of weird things now like put olives on cereal, ketchup on ice cream and mustard on cinnamon roles to let those sweet, sweet endorsement deals roll in.
Oh yeah, you know it’ll happen.
If you’re digging so far to the bottom that you get mayo on your hand its time for a new jar.
That’s not mayo…
Toothpaste?
Assuming a scaphoid fracture, that is nothing to mess around with. I don’t know off the top of my head what the recommendation is for return to contact sports after ORIF with an accutrak.
I could give an estimate……if he was an 80-year-old
Yeah, I fractured my scaphoid in my early 20s playing hockey on rollerblades. I was surprised they put me in a full arm cast for the first 4 weeks because you can’t risk any rotation in the wrist during the early phase of healing. Then a short arm cast for another 4-6 weeks after that.
I broke 3 in my wrist one time, only broken bone I’ve ever had that I’m aware of. I can’t remember the names of them. Now I’m curious.
@I always forget the names of those bones, to@
There are 8 carpal/wrist bones, to remember them we used the mnemonic, “Some Lovers Try Positions That They Can’t Handle,” corresponding to the scaphoid, lunate, triquetrum, pisiform, trapezium, trapezoid, capitate and hamate bones.
@Stupid KAM@
Zach Snyder’s Justice League is the perfect 2.5 star movie. It is a splitter film for sure. One could easily argue it is better than that. One could easy argue it is worse than that. It’s just a big Rorschach movie. I review it at The Last Movie Outpost.
2.5 stars out of 10. Agreed.
LOL, sex panther >>>>>>>> black panther and rolling stone sucks.
Well the new Black Panther was bad. The first one was good.
Meh, I am generally unimpressed with superhero movies, but the best imo is Birdman.
Birdman was great. Agreed.
I also feel like Michael Keaton is an underrated actor. It was bullshit he didn’t win the oscar that year, though I though Steve Carrel was also deserving for a riveting job as that creepy freak in Foxcatcher. Either way, of course they gave it to the guy who played a cripple.
Keaton is pretty great. He is way more than a comedic actor. He’s got this weird edge to him that is always there even in his purely comedic roles.
Absolutely one of my favorite stupid movies. Did you realize they never say Fuck, not once in that movie?
Agreed on both. It’s truly incredible during Fox Catcher you would forget that was Steve Carrel.
Never seen it.
Michael Keaton is a great actor, he’s been in some really good movies.
Clean & Sober is a great show, he knocks that one out of the park.
That was a good one, he is also my favorite Batman.
I’ve never seen any ot the Batman movies.
We are at home, so we should probably win, but if our defense still sucks and Baker plays out of his butt, it could be closer.
Baker shouldn’t play that well. The only way he will is if he is in some sort of honeymoon phase with his new team.
Baker is a bit of a cocky front runner. If he has early success against us, he’ll get stronger. Jump on him early and keep him down, then he’ll make mistakes.
Yeah this game is all about our offense vs the Bucs defense. If we can get a few scores early we should be able to grind out a win.
The Bucs offense is hardly a juggernaut. Would be encouraging to see our defense shut it down.
That said, the Bucs defense was not their main issue a season ago. They have two outstanding cornerbacks, a Pro Bowl-caliber safety, and one of the best linebackers in the NFL. Vita Vea, Greg Gaines, and Shaquil Barrett are a very strong defensive front.
They also have young players like YaYa Diaby and Logan Hall, who could play a significant role for them as well.
They like to stuff the run and pressure the passer up the middle.
Their defense is legit no doubt about it. That’s why I said that’s where the game will be won or loss.
Their defense is legit – time for us to expect more of our defense.
It’s kind of a soft must-win game for the Vikings. They likely won’t beat the Eagles in week 2 unless weird early season stuff happens.
It wouldn’t be any fun being 0-2 with the Chargers on deck.
Week 1 is a must win. Lose that… I won’t feel great about the season.
Eagles week 2
Chargers week 3
Panthers week 4
Chiefs week 5
Bucs and Panthers have to be must win games… otherwise were 1-4 or worse.
70 passer rating incoming…..
Don’t see a loss on the schedule
This lying about an ear issue is a joke. Hold out if you want to but lying to circumvent the CBA fines is shady as fuck. Yes, I think he and the team are lying.
I think he’s milking it for a contract now too. At first i thought it was legit… but how long does it take to recover from ear infection
MT is still whining about the ear infection he had back in 1992.
Was actually New Year’s Eve 1988 but otherwise accurate.
That was a rear infection.
IIRC, it involved:
a jar of old mustard
a poodle
a bunch of hobos
a strangers car with talk radio playing really loud
He doesn’t need to lie to circumvent fines. If this is truly about his contract, he just needs to continue doing what he is doing……holding in.
I know you don’t have a medical background, but WebMD fills in in a pinch. Ear infections can last several weeks to months. Many are caused by seasonal allergies. A great deal of your balance comes from the inner ear – infections can mess with make you feel like a sailor on dry land.
He has no reason to lie.
That inner ear stuff can be weird. I spent about about a year having dizzy spells after inner ear trouble. At its worst, I would barf as soon as I laid flat. Otherwise, there was always a slight spinning in the back of my head.
It is finally tapering off but still present.
I’ve never had an issue with ear infections, but I DID have a bad reaction to tequila.
Nothing is worse than the feeling that you’re gonna fall while laying spread eagle on the ground and holding on.
I actually have 30 yrs of healthcare experience, was an RRT back in the day. Sure you can have inner ear issues that linger but I’m not buying it with this situation. Just so happens he wants a new deal at the same time…convenient. Of course the medical staff knows they can milk an inner ear issue, just like you can with a back issue, but they are required to fine a player not participating in practice without a medical reason.
So Watson lied about it in Houston now Hock is doing the same thing. It’s shady but if the teams are going to condone it then if I was a player that was fined I would file a discrimination suit.
Lol
guys get hangnails and blisters and don’t play.
I’m not concerned about him missing camp.
I am reminded of a mantra from Basic Training that Drill Sergeants would yell to mock someone complaining about being tired or hurting, it goes like this, “waa, waa, waa, my pussy hurts”, repeat until person stops complaining, the end.
“Drill Sergeant, that is a mysogynistic statement”
LOL, yeah, I went to Ft. Benning, where its all male for Basic, that comment would have been met with a vulgar response questioning ones sexual orientation. I can’t even imagine what its like today 24 years later.
Don’t you think it would be hard to stay in character as a DS or DI? I would crack in an instant.
Not that it is anywhere near an equivalence, but I was reminiscing with a buddy about our training and he mentioned standing at a workstation noodling a case with the attending rad. My buddy had a concern about a finding and the attending wasn’t seeing it…he pointed to the finding and touched the screen of the monitor with the (capped) end of his pen.
Now on occasion I have people put their finger on my monitors and that annoys me as I am OCD so I have to clean the monitor or I will see that fingerprint all day. I ask those people to please not touch the screen with their finger, use a blunt object or just let me highlight it with the electronic tools I have.
In this case, the attending just stopped and froze for literally ten seconds. Weird. Then he slowly said, “I…cannot…believe…you…just…poked…a…$30000 monitor…with…a…pen.”
My buddy apologized, said I won’t do that again.
“I…cannot…believe…you…just…”
Five minutes later, “I…cannot…believe…”
Talk about odd personality.
I often wonder what little quirks my technologists discuss about me…but it ain’t freaking out cuz someone touched a screen with the end of a pen.
I’ve been described as quirky more than once, I embrace it just like the suck.
Amen
LOL, fucking hospitals. $100 for a Tylenol, $30,000 for a monitor. They need to learn to shop at Wal:Mart.
I suppose in addition to the cost of producing a 26 inch 6 megapixel monitor you have to factor in that if a white dot appears where a black dot should be that means I call it cancer and that could be a pricey error for the monitor company.
Hock is on his rookie contract. Players on rookie contracts can still have fines waived or reduced.
Correct
Stupid fucking rules…these guy can, these guys can’t….fuck it I’m tired of talking about these millionaire shitheads walking around in shorts playing a fucking game.
CBA is getting as complicated as tax law.
Vertigo sucks.
IMO its Hitchcock’s best film.
Fun fact for the Kirk haters
Ask him what happened in 2018 & 2019 then.
Obviously Super Bowl. He’s the GOAT
Top 10 defense, they had to have won it. I can’t believe I don’t remember. I was knee deep in a 7 year relapse at the time, so I guess it isn’t shocking that I don’t remember.
you relapsed for 7 years or relapsed after being sober for 7 years, I feel like there’s a difference there.
Nope, you read it right. My relapse lasted 7 years. Damn near killed me.
Relapsed in 2014, didn’t come out of it until 2021.
Ok, yeah, holy shit, that’s a bender
Was not fun. If it wasn’t for my son, I wouldn’t be here. Knowing he needed me to be here kept me from going down the drain.
Well be thankful for him I suppose, also Mrs. GF must be very patient.
She is. I also was never a bad drunk. I didn’t get mean, and I didn’t go out and get wild and crazy when I was married. I did that during my first drinking career, but that was when I was single.
Kirk was 20/33 for 1 TD and a glorious 132 yards in the last game I attended.
Chicago, week 17, 2018.
He also screamed at his WRs and tried to teach them route running on the sidelines
Hey, GF, are you going to have survival and pick em leagues again this season?
Yes.
I’m also getting prizes made for last year’s winners. Should be resdy to ship soon. It took a while. Sorry. Been a crazy year for me.
Nice. I want to participate in those leagues, so if I miss the announcement, remember this post!
Not sure when the Fantasy league starts. Hopefully soon.
Will the pickem and survival be on the same app as the Fantasy league?
I think they were Yahoo last year.
@not his fault.@
Also had a top 5 defense in 2018 and shit his pants the last game of the year in a win and in game, it is what it is.
LOL.
You have to dig deep to make Kirk sound like a winner.
Its pathetic at the end of the day. Any other fan base of a winning franchise wouldn’t be posting this trash.
Fun fact, haters want to do more than just make a WC game. Talk about low standards to drive a narrative.
So the Redskins ended Baltimore’s record pre-season game win streak last night. They were celebrating like they won the Super Bowl and flashing “L” signs with their fingers to the Ravens bench after the game winning field goal sailed through the uprights.
For me, that was little boorish and overstated. The Ravens sat their top two quarterbacks — Lamar Jackson and Tyler Huntley — and played their other second- and third-string players for the entire game. The Commanders went with their starting quarterback and their first-team offense for the whole first half. I think they played their starting defense the whole first half as well. In the end, they needed a pass interference call on 4th and 11 to sustain their game winning drive too. So in the end, I think they put way too much emphasis on beating Baltimore in a pre-season game, and then over celebrated it. Might slow your roll there Redskins. You have a pretty good team, but wait to you win some games in the real season before you start acting out. Even then, maybe show some class.
Just my opinion…
Might be one of the few wins the Redskins get this season…let them have their moment.
Commanders acting like they won the SB lol
LOL, what a crock of shit, its preseason, nobody cares.
How dumb. A team that hasn’t won shit since Reagan was in office, & in a meaningless preseson game. The only ones who seemed to care about the winning streak was the media, nobody else talked about it.
We watch the Ravens because of Lamar’s Louisville connection. I got sick of the media talking about the ridiculous pre-season record, so I’m glad that’s over. Maybe they’ll shut up about a meaningless record now.
Lamar is my wife’s favorite player. We lived in the Baltimore area for 10 years, about 15 minutes from M&T Bank Stadium and of course Camden Yards where the Orioles play. She loves live football and baseball, so we went to a lot of games. She’s a hoot with a few beers in her at the games.
I’ve had to half carry her to the car a few times… grin.
Awesome! Your wife sounds like a true blessing. Lucky guy!
My wife is awesome. We have a great time when we’re out. Of course I’m the designated driver, she’s the designated drinker… grin. I’ve never been a heavy drinker though, so it works out well.
Loved Camden and the Inner Harbor. I lived in Glen Burnie for a few years
After an Orioles’ game we’d hit the Cheesecake Factory. There used to be a comedy club near there, can’t remember the name. Saw Jeff Dunham there once. Another trip there my parents flew out to visit us, we got in line early and got front row seats – wife hit the bathroom just before the opener – she came back to the table red as a beet. “I accidentally walked into the men’s room.” Opener came on, said “I was in the 3rd stall, writing down my final material for the show and I hear someone come in, a very feminine giggle, and the door slammed…….WHERE ARE YOU HONEY??” I caught his eye and pointed at her sitting beside me. “NO F’N WAY – the FRONT ROW? I can’t BE that lucky!” He went off on her for about 10 minutes, crowd roaring. Luckily she took it well.
When I was in college at Towson I bartended at The Black Eyed Pea, we catered the O’s home games. Random guy would show up to pick up the food, he’d hand out a hat or 2, a t-shirt. One time a waiter was given a broken bat.
The Comedy Factory is down there on Light St, my wife and I have been there many times. We’ve never been to the Black Eyed Pea though. We had a lot of fun at games and in a few bars before and after.
I left in 2000. Not even sure the Pea exists anymore.
I also worked at Kaufmann’s Tavern near Gambrills for a stint. Fun place.
I know right where Kaufmann’s is, but never stopped in.
I don’t see them keeping Hall. I think that’s a waste of a spot given the right spots at safety, CB, and WR.
Hall can make PS. Done nothing in preseason to flash and get snatched by another team
Skoldiers hates Hall, but he is right…I think he is a PS candidate.
Hall sucks and likely clears waivers, PS for sure.
The third RB isn’t currently on the team, Dyke isn’t going to make the roster no matter what happens with wang, who also will be cut. Reagor will be on the roster as well over powell or Jackson. Otomewo probably makes the roster over Bullard. Interesting that Reeder is cut considering what a total stud you said he is, kinda sad if he can’t beat out Troy Dye.
Big trading week before roster cutdowns begin.
Does anyone see KAM making a move? What position or player?
Got Mullens Reagor and Blacklock around this time last year.
what an impact they had last year
I actually do think Mullens is a MASSIVE upgrade from what we had. Remember watching Minion against the Peckers in 2021? I’ve been trying to forget, too. He didn’t have an impact because he didn’t play, so you’re correct.
Mullens is much better, still had zero impact but if Kirk goes down he will. But the overall point is you’re not getting anything but depth guys at this point. I like the young TEs, especially Muse, maybe they could trade Mundt for equally scrub level IOL or something.
Yeah, they’ll need to trade big if they want to make an impact.
Good point…he likes going through the neighborhood trash on garbage day to see what treasures he can find.
KAM RN
Kirk Cousins for Johnny Manziel
Dalvin Cook is the owner of Manziel’s team.
FUCKING BOLSTER THE INTERIOR LINE!!!!!!!! please.
Yep, make it happen, KAM.
About three OL guys, a DL and a secondary should do it.
Maybe KJ and a third for Zach Martin
Morning skolholes!
Gm.
FTP
Going to be a hot one today! Hot like…
Does your wife know of your Bi tendencies?? Not that there is anything wrong with that…..
She encourages them. Anything that draws my attention away from her is a win in her book.
Stop posting GIFs of my wife, please…
Well, we better cool off then!!!
Going to head out to the course this morning. Play a round solo which I enjoy as a change of pace and work on pre shot routine.
So you’re saying Foot Wedge season is now open……..
Good luck. Hit ’em long and straight.
I need to utilize the foot wedge more often…I did use it once in yesterday’s round when I was playing solo…ball was under a tree but hittable but I would have had all kinds of branches clawing at my back…foot wedge to the rescue!
I prefer to try the really hard shot and then after I miss it take a drop and pretend like it is still shot #2.
this is the way.
Have fun!
