Happy everyone, and welcome to Skoloholics, your home for Minnesota Vikings Discussion! Every day you can join us for the latest Minnesota Vikings news, lots of Minnesota Vikings talk, also NFL news and updates, and most anything else you may have on your mind. At Skoloholics, the real action is in the comments, so if you haven’t checked out the comments section yet, sign up and join the conversation.

I’m sitting here watching the Steelers @ Browns Thursday Night Football game. Divisional games are always hard to predict, especially when you have crazy weather like the heavy snowfall they had in Cleveland for the game. Neither team is moving the ball much, as passing the ball seems rather difficult. The Browns are up 10-6 in the 4th quarter as of this writing, but the Browns are driving. If they get 7 here, it’ll be tough for the Steelers to come back. We’ll see by morning. I am happy to see Jameis Winston resurrecting his career, and it was pretty neat to see our old pal Cordarrelle Patterson still playing ball.

The Vikings are preparing for their next game, as they travel to Chicago to take on the Bears this weekend. On paper, the Vikings should be able to get a win, but we all know how difficult it is to win on the road in Chicago, especially for the Vikings. I expect another stressful game where the Vikings do their best to give us all heart attacks. Beyond that, it’s hard to say.

Vikings News

Vikings.com has a Vikings @ Bears week 12 preview, they also have the most recent Vikings @ Bears injury report.

NFL News

Fox Sports looks at the 2025 NFL draft order, and ponders what the Cowboys should do if they possess the first overall pick. I mainly chose to share this article because it mentions the Cowboys sucking so bad that they might land the first overall pick, it makes me happy.

From NFL.com, Kevin Stefanski is to remain the head coach of Cleveland in 2025. I’ll believe it when I see it. The Browns organization has a habit of ditching their head coach every couple years, I see no reason to expect them to deviate from their standard operating procedure.

The Seahawks are still without power after a ‘bomb cyclone’, per NFL.com. Weather people & their stupid names. Bomb cyclone, good grief.

Media Selection

Bomb cyclone.

Broncos-Chargers is replacing Browns-Bengals in Week 16 on Thursday Night Football.

My father-in-law told me last night that Wisconsin has lost a lot of hunters. I don’t know where he got his data and I didn’t look it up. It makes sense however. People aren’t having as many kids so it is hard to replace old hunters. For example, in my wife’s family most of the 6 kids hunted at least some of the time. Now, her oldest sister doesn’t hunt nor do her 2 girls. The next sister was an avid hunter until she got married. Now she does not hunt, nor do any of her 3 kids. One of my kids hunts. Her brother was an avid hunter until he got married and moved out west. Now he does not hunt nor do his 2 kids. The next sister does not hunt and she has no children. The youngest sister rarely hunted and she does not hunt now and her 2 girls are too young, but I expect that maybe only one would hunt, as the other is a girly girl. We need someone to shoot all of these deer.

I suspect that it is like that all over the country, some worse that others.
As the woke virus infects the education and the teach that ‘animals have feelings too’.
Therefore killing them is bad, even when they are overcrowded and starving to death.

I remember when driving on the AF Academy was hazardous due to too many deer. AF officials hired professionals hunters to cull the herd. The outrage and protests were fun to watch but kind of sad at the same time.

Animals are more important than people apparently.

Another issue is that if you don’t own hunting land, it is harder to find a place to hunt. While there is public land, I’ve heard horror stories about hunting around a bunch of people. One guy heard a bullet buzz past his ear. If my mother-in-law ever sells her land, I’m sure I will be done hunting.

i Won’t hunt public land. My buddy has about 150 acres here in minny. W hunt elevated stands and we know where everyone is. The elevation makes you shoot at a down angle.

PA has over 1.5 million acres of publicly owned state game lands. They provide roads, parking areas and trails. i use the slot in the spring to access nice fishing areas. While I never hear of issues during hunting season, not sure I would go fishing then!

I am currently arguing with liberal Christians online. This explains my drinking problem. The liberal Christian believes it is God’s will to take money from one set of people (the Wealthy) and give their money to the poor – thus, of course, absolving the liberal Christian of any responsibility of caring for the poor as Christ commanded…

To be fair, I admittingly could and should do more to care for the poor in my community…but I can’t stand the mindset that it is governments role to redistribute wealth and indeed it is mandated by Christ Himself…

Time to pour another Pendelton.

Worked with a couple lib IM docs a decade ago. Both in the $350K range, always argued that we should pay more in taxes for the poor etc. One day I overheard them discussing their taxes. One admitted with questionable write offs and his LLC’s that he only paid $25 in taxes for the year. He joked that he thought $0 was too little. The other doc freely admitted she had to pay $250.

Libs are libs for everyone but themselves.

Yeah, those folks are annoying.

God gives the church directives to care for the poor. He doesn’t give the government directives to care for the poor in the New Testament. Government is essentially there to keep law and order, protect the population and punish lawbreakers.

The scary thought, is I have seen people try similar. I passed a car on the interstate pulling a trailer and it looked like the receiver hitch was about to be pulled right out of the unibody construction. Just because a hitch was installed, doesn’t mean you pull anything with it.

But in your case; cut the car in half, weld the front half of the car to the front of the trailer. Self propelled dump trailer, or a dump truck to the laymen.

Thus, they’ll save no cash or cap space for 2024. For 2025, they’ll owe him nothing. Based on the original signing bonus ($36 million) and the restructuring of his 2023 base salary (which dropped the number from $9.5 million to $1.08 million and prorated the balance), the Giants will carry $22.21 million in dead money for Jones in 2025.

Dead Cap Hit for 2025 is $22 million.

Kirk’s dead cap hit for the Vikings in 2024 is $28.5 million

Happy everyone, and welcome to Skoloholics

Yeah thanks, I for one am pretty happy as it is Friday and I have the day off (Monday as well, so I’m looking at a nice extended weekend).

On our way to Sopron in the old country, day trip do some shopping for the upcoming holidays. Some things I want for the holidays can only be bought in Hungary, glad to spend a few hours at home.

Will you be having a turkey sandwich on Thursday, to help us celebrate the spreading of disease and stealing of land?

That has not happened anywhere in the world at any time except here. We should be ashamed of what someone did that we have only a tenuous connection to.

But if they make you feel guilty then they can get more money out of you, government, nation.

Of course I’ll help honor those old traditions, looking forward to the turkey sandwich.
