Watching the Packers play against the practice squad. Oh wait, that isn’t the practice squad, it’s the Saints. The Saints offense is a very poor offense, but luckily for me, I have the Packers defense on my fantasy team and they have 19 points so far. I’m in a close match in the semi-finals, and the winner takes on my son in the championship game. I was down by 32 or so prior to this game, and I had Jacobs and the Packers defense left to play, and they came through for me with a combined 40+. As long as the Saints don’t score 14, I’ll win.

Depends on how many teams want to sign Sam and how much they are willing to pay him.
If he is tagged then they would have to trade with the Vikings to get him. We might not get a kings ransom for him but even a case of beer would be better than nothing.
It would have to be a cold case of beer of course, we do have standards after all.

Trade for a 7th, when you can let him walk and get 3rd round comp pick.
A 3rd rounder in ’26 is equal to a 4th rounder in ’25.
And since the ‘tag price’ for a QB should be about $45M (not ‘max contract’) getting that should not be a problem.
KAM can judge the market value and act accordingly.
Sounds like a reasonable plan. I sincerely hope that we’ll find out what they do if they have a SB winning stop gap QB on their hand, and their handpicked QBOTF waiting in the wings.

Just watched this movie (again) last night, we have a Clearplay® dvd player which “jumps” past questionable content, it is now broken so we watched the whole movie, my kids (one of which is 28) were amazed at how much we missed (especially the department store scene, which we tried to skip ahead on). Still a great movie.

I have learned this lesson well.

Vikes are 1.5 favorites, I am nervous already.
I am in ‘hope for the best and expect the worst’ mode.
Doing my best to ‘enjoy the ride’ while it lasts.
So I expect it all to come crashing down at some point but hoping it doesn’t. Wearing a smile almost every day this season has been nice.

Ahhh Have to do two presents at a time? Christmas and Birthday?
My daughters birthday was the 20th and I have always tried to not roll the two together and minimize her Birthday.
We agreed many years ago, not to buy each other gifts. We just purchase what we want when we want it, or can afford it.
We have agreed with family to minimize gifts this year.
Moving drove home the point that we have too much ‘stuff’ in dramatic fashion.
I did send her a gift card to the ‘Idaho Store’ so she can get herself some swag this year. As much a gag gift as anything else.

We are going to Rec Center early today as it closes, about 1pm, thereby keeping our exercise schedule intact.
Then we will cook the ham and do Christmas Eve dinner so that we can be lazy tomorrow.

I agree with the take/twitter above that says let Sam go, and roll with JJ. As I mentioned yesterday, I am good with whatever the current brain trust decides, since they are a playoff team again. This “competitive rebuild” bullshit is working, even though it sounded like Corporate Buzzword Bingo, they are on to something.

Why would be play for league minimum? Remember, it’s not about the dollars, but what the dollars represent. If somebody were to offer him league minimum, that would obviously be rude and disrespectful to s QB as accomplished as Kirk.
They should just keep him. They are paying him either way. I think the Raiders would pay.
You said that yesterday – what the current brain trust decides – and it confused me. so went bacj and reread some material. Seems KOC wanted to keep Cousins and even suggested to him that they wouldn’t be drafting a QB if he stayed. KAM while not as strong was willing to pay top dollar for year one, slightly more than ATL, but much less guaranteed in year two. So, there’s the HC and GM. Then the owners step in and say Cousins is getting old, this is a great QB class, so draft a QB and they did.
Even more confusing to me who’s calling the shots. But on QB decisions, I know who I want calling the shots.
I highly doubt this take. The Wilfs let Zimmer and Spielman fight each other longer than they should have.
It doesn’t fit the Wilfs MO to lay down the law about releasing Kirko. They are hands off owners.

1000% worse. Easy answer. We are unable to get the defensive pieces Flores needed with Kirk here. Also, if you think Darnold is taking a lot of sacks you can add about 20 more with double the turn overs with Statue back there. This is a 6-8 win team if that happens.
I agree completely. Signing the free agents that have dramatically improved the defense would not have been a thing.
Team still could have somehow made the playoffs, but not 13 wins.
Whomever made the final decision to move on(I thought that was Kirk making that final decision, since the Vikings told him they were drafting QB, and that was the reason for the second year not being guaranteed as part of the Vikings offer). Kirk got more $ from ATL, with the guarantees he is famous for. Good for him.

The Vikings are actually eating a bunch of dead $$$ from Kirk & Hunter this year, they accelerated all of the 2025 dead cap to 2024 so they’d have cap room in 2025. Pretty sure we have $57 million in dead cap this year, $38 million from Kirk.
