Not a whole lot of news again today. JJ and Dalvin are not at OTAs, which means next to nothing. There has been very little news out of OTAs, although I did provide a link to a piece on Vikings.com which says…..not much. Oh well.

I made a pineapple wine several years ago…..ended up dumping out the batch after 2 years aging. Was undrinkable.

I feel like thats something that has to be drank quickly. Im not sure what ABV your wine was but I feel like pineapple needs to be fresh or high ABV to last.

My wines typically come out as 12% ABV, I’ve only got one recipe that I haven’t calculated it out yet (Dandelion) because it just lists a specific amount of sugar to use, rather than “add enough sugar to get SG to 1.0850…”
The Dandywine ends up quite a bit higher in ABV, and almost too sweet – the ABV gets so high it stops the ferment. Next batch of that I’m going to start with less sugar.

Well….. right now our defense hasn’t allowed one point to be scored against us.
Lotta media types hyping up Cine right now. KAM traded down in the first round of his first draft and took Cine instead of picking Kyle Hamilton, who I thought was the top player at that position in the draft.
Cine spent most of last year rehabbing a fractured leg suffered in London’s Week 4 game against the Saints. No one has seen what he can bring to the table besides some special team plays and preseason snaps. He lost the camp competition to Camryn Bynum, had to sit on the bench, and then suffered the season-ending injury early in the year.
Now he’s being treated like a star player and the media is pushing stories of how great he looks. Glad to see a very impressive recovery story, but I’ll have to reserve judgement on how great he is to somewhere around mid season.
Probably know by week one based on starting lineup. If he’s healthy and not starting, says something ( a lot).

Argument to be made that AP’s talent was generational and Rice’s talent was replaceable, thus the decision by one organization to move on and another to keep a player who likely would’ve found another suitor (after the year-long suspension)

The fumbles are meh to me; unfortunate timing? Yes of course in two instances (Saints, Seahawks) but I did a big ass breakdown many years ago on DN and AP is right in line with many other NFL great RB’s with his fumbles and yet he’s the one stigmatized? Pass pro is true but it’s always been dumb to me because few RB’s are good at it and the ones that are, well they are just meh RBs. I’d rather have zero pass pro and AP than a good pass blocker that can’t run out of sight in a week.
The only thing that held those Vikings teams back was the QB. Saw it on display with we had Favre. AP had the most catches of his career, no issues pass blocking AND a shit load of yards. AP didn’t tip the offenses hand, Ponders lack of skill did. TJacks (RIP) lack of skill did.

But I find the Hurts rating interesting. He’s been in the league 3 years. First was not so good and second was not real good either. Last year was really good (although throwing stats are still iffy) and now he’s considered one of the very best in league. Just seems find of quick to me.

Don’t believe the play call was that bad. They have 7 DB’s on field and you have to run some routes to clear things out. Trouble is when a DL can get to your QB in two seconds, most all plays are pretty much screwed.

Ben, that is actually a very interesting point. You should go back and watch the Redskins games where Cousins led a 4th quarter drive to take the lead with less than two minutes to play, and then watch the defense let the other team march down the field and surrender a TD to win it. Might do the same with the Vikings.
The fact is Cousins has led a LOT of 4th quarter scoring drives at the end of games in his career, but normally the defense just pissed those away. I might have to actually tabulate those one day. It has happened with monotonous regularity.

Remember the Lions game where we scored with less than two minutes left and the defense let Goff take the offense straight down the field and score on 4th down at the goal line. Hey, let’s not cover that guy at the goal line. Let’s stand on the endline so we can get a good view of him catching the ball and scoring.
There was a Redskins game with Dallas where exactly the same thing happened BTW. Romo was sacked on third down, and Dallas had 4th and goal from the 12. One of the defensive rushers tripped and fell, and Romo threw the ball to the RB standing on the goal line near the corner flag, with no one within 10 yards of him.
I bet I could pull up a dozen more games in Cousins career with similar endings.

Do you remember Kirk’s first game as a Viking against Green Lame? Was the game that got Carlson fired. Ended in a tie. Cousins made two of the most impressive throws that day. A deep ball to Diggs for a 75 yard score where he got absolutely mollywhopped by a defender. The other was a touchdown throw along the sideline and near the front pylon to AT in the closing minutes of the game. Was about a 6 inch window to make the completion and he snuck it thru.
And our friggin kicker missed two FG’s in OT that would have won the game.

There’s a Rolling Stone interview (I think it’s RS) with Jerry Cantrell where he talks about Layne – how the first time he heard his voice he thought it would be a 300lb biker and he was blown away to see this tall, rail-thin dude with pink hair just wailing. Cantrell did a podcast with Lars Ulrich awhile back where he talked about the unplugged show and how it was the first show in 3 years and given Staley’s addiction and health issues he walked onto the unplugged stage ‘knowing that my band is probably fucking over…’ he was right. They opened for KISS in 1996 in KC – the new songs for Music Bank were recorded separately.
Pretty sure Layne didnt have pink hair until closer to his death. They started out with a more 80s hair/punk sound before they found their own niche and became grunge. Videos of early AIC shows show Layne with a shit ton of long hair. I always have a question for people that use this argument. And I am not arguing against it, I agree with this thought process but do you actually believe in this thought process. Because that’s part of why I support abortions up to 8 weeks because someone who really wants on will still get on in a back alley or if their parents are rich they’ll fly them somewhere to get one. Just curious. I am not saying Abortions and Guns is what is being compared here but rather the logic behind why ban something that people will do anyway illegally and at a higher risk rate because it’s illegal etc…
I do believe in the thought process. There’s a portion of the human race, at any given time in historic/current/future, that are inherently evil and/or bad people.
Understand the abortion position and I get it. I’m against it because imo it’s murder. Making it legal for any period of time is a justification for murder of which the VAST majority is for personal choice (convenience) as apposed to medically necessary (which is an understandable and tragic exception (even the parent would agree)).
Having it illegal would indeed drop the number of elective abortions guaranteed. Of course there will still be those who do this illegally and at a higher risk, similar to gun violence. However being a crime it can (should) be dealt with appropriately and those who aren’t “caught” will have to answer to that at some point. It’s a moral conundrum in a time when people don’t care to have morals.
IF the “leaders” in these high murder states would apply the laws properly to gun offenders the risk would be mitigated, however we’ve allowed lawlessness for too long in those areas and there’s no deterrent for these people. Much stiffer penalties is what’s needed to deter crime, not mental health checks constant 2nd chances.
As I said yesterday to have a well functioning and law abiding society people need to think with their brains instead of their damn feelings. We’ve created a mess by trying to appease 5% of people. 95% of us will never deal with gun violence or if we do will be dealt with appropriately (long time in jail/death penalty).

I have tried attaching thinking and the brain to the subject because when someone is pronounced dead is when the brain stops, not the heart. Brain usually develops between 6-8 weeks. So 8, weeks, then no abortion unless in those circumstances it threatens the mother’s life type situations.
Am I wrong? Or do you have as you put it a “brain” reason and not a religious/emotional reason why you are completely against abortion?

From a personal standpoint, life begins at conception. If I were in office, I would be fine compromising with 8 weeks except in the case of the health of the mother, rape, incest, etc. I look at it differently from a personal perspective and what is practical and achievable on the public stage.

But I also think it would be a necessary evil for these areas to ever have a chance to dig themselves out of their situation. It’s got to be a two way street. If heart beating is what means life then heart not beating would mean not alive… which isn’t the case. The heart supplying blood to the brain is what eventually develops the brain which the two way street comes in play again, if the heart stops that leads to the brain not getting blood and oxygen and dying which is what actually kills you.
If life begins at conception how do you reconcile that with roughly 40-50% of fertilized eggs fail to develop? Is that a human life lost? Again, not trying to be an ass but this is a topic I’ve struggled with my stance on because I think it is messy the face of these counter points.

Technically when someone’s heart stops they are dead until resuscitated with outside interference. If you’re heart is not pumping for even a slight period of time you die. You can’t take someone who’s heart stopped a day ago and fire them back up. That’s the life of the human.
If your heart is down for 10 minutes you’re dead, no question, if you’re brain is dead for 10 days but heart beating you are still alive.
The one difference in this scenario is, an abortion 99.9% of the time is guaranteed to kill a human. So if it is banned than the number of abortions drops dramatically. Whereas, banning a certain type, or even all guns, does not lower the death rate of those who want to kill someone.
