Christmas day has passed, but that doesn’t mean we get to quit being nice & be turds until December 24 of next year, mmmkaaaayyyyy?
Wow, Christmas football kinda’ sucked, to be honest. Neither game was very good, especially the Texans abysmal showing against the Ravens. I still say that the NFL is broadcasting their hypocrisy regarding player safety by continuing to add more games on more different days, forciong more players to play on fewer days of rest. Whatever. That Texans game was chock-ful of pop culture junk that I didn’t really care for. Once Bouncy started playing & I saw her dancers going into convulsions, I turned it off. Yuck.
Anyway, the games were both bad. KC rolled over Pittsburgh, then the Ravens humiliated the Texans. The below-average Ravens defense absolutely destroyed the Texans offense, allowing zero points and very few yards. Stroud looked deflated and defeated, as he was harassed all day long. The Ravens finished with five sacks and 9 QB hits, and they were even more dominant than those two stats suggest. It was ugly. If you didn’t watch the games, I envy you, I wish I hadn’t.

The X-factor in this equation is the pairing of Pace and Blake Cashman. When both players are on the field, the unit’s explosive play rate allowed is night and day, and actually best in the NFL at 7.7 percent.
Keeping the theme here, let’s dissect the other topic related to Pace, who hasn’t played since Week 12 because of a hamstring injury but was designated Tuesday to return from Injured Reserve: run defense.
When Pace plays, the Vikings rank first against the run by a wide margin. When he doesn’t, Minnesota’s run defense ranks among the worst in the league.
In the eight games Pace has played this season (in his ninth, Nov. 24 at Chicago, he logged five snaps before leaving), the Vikings have yielded an average of 77.5 yards on the ground. In seven contests sans Pace, the group has given up an additional 22 yards per game, including lopsided tallies of 154 and 158.

NETFLIX streaming didn’t work out well. Poor NETFLIX.
Those games were hard to watch for several reasons. But yeah the weird advertising for dumb ass Squid Games was cringy and annoying. Blatant adds being shoved in your face, paid people to dress up at the games to advertise for it. Would love a reform on advertising and ethics in the country. Garbage needs to be regulated/banned.

Vikings have to win this Sunday to make week 18 an important game in the playoff picture.
Bengals/Steelers and Seahawks/Rams are the only other games that could possibly have both teams involved affected by the outcome. Out of those three, I would think Lions/Vikings playing for the division and the #1 seed would be a better sell on Sunday night.
NFL wants ratings and $. They need to make sure the Vikings and Lions both win this weekend to set up the drama.
Well, yes, it is true that if the Vikings lose this weekend they are out of the running for #1 and the Lions won’t have anything to play for so the Lions/Vikings game would fail the “both teams” test.
We would still, however, have a chance at the #2 seed if the eagles lose this week or next (unlikely).
Well we can’t get the #2 seed with out winning the division.
#5 seed is the best we could do at that point.
