I just watched the first half of Seahawks-Bears. It’s been nothing like last week’s Seahawks-Vikings game, there’s been very little scoring, and very little to enjoy watching. The Bears are getting booed by the home crowd, I love it. Not quite as bad as the Christmas football we were subjected to, but it’s pretty boring, typical Thursday Night Football. Hey, I have an idea! Maybe they should try just playing football on Sunday!?!? I dunno, it sounds crazy, but maybe they should think about it. Greedy SOBs.
It’s almost time for Vikings-Packers, and I cannot wait. I’m hoping the Vikings can come out and get a convincing win to keep building on the amazing season they’re having. The offense has been stronger, but has struggled with consistency, and has yet to put together four complete quarters. I hope to seem them continue to improve. The defense will face a strond Packers offense, so they’ll need to be up to the task.
I hate the Packers and always will, I’ve hated them since I was a child and will hate them until the day I die, it’s just how it is. My dad was a Lions fan, he hated the Packers, too. My friend is a Bears fan & she hates the Packers, so on & so forth. The Vikings still control their destiny for the 1st seed in the NFC and a first round bye, but first they need to win Sunday. They sure as heck don’t want the friggin Packers ruining their shot. Just beat them.
The Vikings injury report is encouraging, as it looks like LB Ivan Pace Jr. will be back in the lineup! The defense will be happy to see the 2nd year rising star back on the field, he always seems to be where he needs to be.

11 win Army was suppose to play 10 win Marshall in the Independence Bowl.
But Marshalls coach took another job after the season and so many players left that they couldn’t field a team.
So Army is playing 5-7 Louisiana Tech.

Bought this huge box of football/basketball cards for $100 from a little shop in Billings called Get Excited sports cards.
Found a bunch of good cards, several Cris Carter, Deion, Steve Young, lots more. Great investment, and fun!
Found a few that sold for $40, one over $100.
as my dad so eloquently put it when i was a kid and i was telling him how much my ken griffey jr or my kirby puckett cards were worth…
“they are only worth as much as you can sell them to someone for”
also cards are almost worthless without a PSA grade….
These are almost all in plastic, ready for grading, I know a place in town.
I have a few thousand baseball cards, kiddo got into it as well, his collection is growing.
My sister once found a Hank Aaron card at a garage sale and bought it for $1.

Correct. PSA is the Cadillac of card graders….. there’s another grading service that’s popular, just not popular enough for me to remember the name.

ebay….haha. i always just look the card up on ebay and you can see what all the grades are worth

I collected cards – baseball and football most of my life.
Got back into during the pandemic. Started trading cards online and buying unknown boxes and old sets. Sent them off to be graded. Made a killing. At the time it cost $3 a card to get graded, minimum of 100 cards sent in. The come back in nice hard covers with the grades on them. Sell really fast.
Looked about 6 months ago to see what grading prices were – holy smokes! Cost has tripled in most cases.
There’s a strong nostalgia market for ungraded cards on EBay and other places. I’ve sold ungraded cards there for $100 bucks a few times. Sold an ungraded Billy Ripken ‘fuckface’ cards with the corner torn for $125.
Lots of basketball cards, I have zero knowledge.

i grew up collecting baseball cards, always loved it, have passively bought boxes and packs as i hear of good rookies coming up etc…
but for nostalgia sake, me and a co-worker bought an upper deck 1989 box a couple year ago hoping to pull a ken griffey jr rookie card..
we went out for chinese food and went through every pack while we ate. it was a GREAT time. we never pulled a griffey, but it was fun seeing all the other players back in the day

Its hard to be incompetent for that long, whatever the Vikes do, they worst they are is mediocre, never complete ASS. Sure a few games here and there on a down year but that was bad.

I read his hamstring was not that bad to go on IR for 4 weeks. Now he has the 21 day window to get back. Sounded like he was ready for Sunday. These injury reports are odd. As bad as the NHL. Upper or lower body. Guessing he’ll be active.
Potentially a surgical repair is in the works.
I can see 2 scenarios – he’s able to play through the pain right now so they say “we’ll patch you up after the season is over”
Or, he misses the playoffs, and has more time for things to heal up naturally without needing surgery.

I do find it interesting as to why a coach takes the “interim” head coaching job after the head coach is fired. I mean, some one has to do it, but the Bears head coach was clueless last night.
He just effed his future coaching career, be it a coordinator or even a position coach.
