Joe Flacco just keeps slinging it for the Browns, maybe the Vikings should have signed him off the street instead of trading for Dobbs.

Are you excited to see Hall start Sunday?

Minnesota Vikings News:
Jaren Hall will start at QB Sunday
A “rumor” that the Vikings will be trading for a starting QB, LMAO
Thursdays injury report, it does not look good for the CB position

- Keep politics out. We are adults, news happens, and we can talk about it. What we don’t want is to go down the rabbit holes and turn a productive conversation into name calling and personal attacks.

Skol. Gameday. Wonder how they doing in Detroit this morning?
Sure Campell will screw the kittens, he’s a maverick. Enjoy watching though.
Looks like kittens locked in on seed. Not sure what they will bring. If kittens have 4th and 98 i like our chances.
They have no reason to risk starters in their last game vs us.
Nice. Campbell ain’t seen a 4th down he didn’t like. LMFAO.
Haha, Goff. FU Lions.
Don’t get why the Loins didn’t kick the XP and get to OT after the penalty on the 1st try for the 2pt XP.
Because Campbell is an idiot.
We were shaking our heads here.
Have to believe a competent GM or owner that would not piss them off.
Afraid postseason will be me cheering for team i hate the least. You skolholes have a nice News Years Eve. (stay out of jail)
Dallas has a rookie kicker who’s made 34 straight. Wonder if Joseph is back? I say no.
But any rookie/kicker we pick up will not make 34 straight during this millennium.
That is unposssible.
Moving anywhere to Eagle, Idaho?
Eagle is north of Boise,
Napa is SouthWest.
Both suburbs.
Read a snip that lots of big Big pension people (mostly tax paid) are heading there and locals are up in arms destroying what once was.
I read that article.
It was a Mayoral election, the ‘old mayor’ tried to defeat his opponent by pointing out that He (old mayor) moved from Calf to Eagle in ’03 and the opponent moved in 2017 and had a pension from Calif.
It didn’t work very well as he lost by 10% points.
Roster moves should be interesting tomorrow, if not fun.
Such as??
Like to see O’Neill back. Wonnum out won’t help, not seen final injury report. Our D line is highly questionable. Hall a big variable. Pukes may dink and dunk us to death. We can’t run for 17 with 4 picks, i know that much. Looking forward to it. The club likely to go nowhere so it’s more entertaining.
OK but I think roster is pretty much set. Hall is starting QB. OโNeill is likely back. Really only major question marks are Addison and Blackmon who are questionable.
Agree. That questionable crap in NFL is only out done by NHL. Upper or lower body. I will be less stressed tomorrow.
Not sure about cowpies, mostly talk.
I hate Dallas. But go Dallas!!!
I’m team meteor for this one.
Itโs funny. Iโve never thought of the Lions as a rival because they perennially suck. But after last weekโs ref debacle and this seasonโs fan/national media Lions love fest, fuck them.
i now hate the Lions more than Dallas.
I don’t hate them like I do Dallas.
But after last week I dislike them almost as much.
I hated those Kitties players mocking the SKOL chant in our endzone. Agreed, FU Kitties.
Yeah, I could/should have mentioned that (SKOL chant) too. Great point/reminder. My hope, albeit slim, is that the Vikings make the playoffs and beat Detroit on their home field in Wildcard, and return the SKOL Chant favor.
I’m baa-aack. Not that anyone is around to notice. Anything happen during the past week? I missed the game last week. The only play I saw on a tv at Red Robin was an interception.
Congratulations on being back and on missing last weeks game.
Welcome back mate. You didn’t miss much, just the occasional Kirk debate ๐
I’m shocked.
Tiger Woods is 48 today.
Happy Birthday to Tiger.
Mixed feelings about Tiger. Took my kids to tournament in DC. Phil, Rickey and several others, stopped, signed autographs and talked with kids for quite a while. Tiger walked by and shunned every kid standing there. Kid of shaped my feelings some.
Big fan of Phil and Rickey as they are so generous with time for kids.
I can definitely understand that. Tiger was pretty renowned for not signing many, if any autographs after rounds for most of his career. When he did sign autographs though (so I’ve heard) in general he almost only signed for kids.
Some guy who liked to have lots of affairs with random women.
Oh, THAT guy.
Ok
Penn St – ‘Ole Miss looks interesting.
Two 10-2 teams, rated 10th and 11th.
3 – 3 so far but it is early.
Down goes Sandusky U.
But Maryland (my alma mater kind of) is up on Auburn 24 – 7 so B10 does not totally suck this weekend after The Ohio St could only score 3 pts last night.
Maryland wins and Florida St down 42 – 3 at the half.
Mayhaps they didn’t belong in the playoffs after all.
And perhaps Georgia did.
Georgia being in would be ‘odd’.
That is true. Have some friends that believe Saban still owes the zebras money from the GA/Bama game.
We could easily have had an 8 team playoffs adding GA/Fl St/Ohio St and a one of the 2 loss teams.
Of course then the 2 loss teams would have been arguing about which one was ‘worthier’.
Whew, that was close.
63 – 3 Georgia.
Agreed. Nail biter.
Read below from SV we might just slip into playoffs. – think so too.
Some may say so what, we aren’t going anywhere.
I remember a few years back. seattle got into playoffs with a losing record ( like 7-9) and many folks thought a waste.
First game they played and beat the Highly ranked Saints. Lost after that, but did go onto building a bit of a dynasty for a few years.
Who knows, but as we used to say in baseball, the beer always tastes better after a win.
Headed out to do the Saturday morning errands. We have one of my wife’s friends visiting us this week so we’re going to Malio’s for dinner tonight. Looking forward to that.
I hate the Cowboys, and the Lions have wrapped up the Division, so I’m rooting for them tonight.
Gooooose morning!
Happy last Saturday of the year!
On the road today, yโall take care of each other.

Safe travels… don’t let Goose drive.
This is bad… just saw that the Packers are tied for 3rd in the league in passing TD’s (so are the Vikings BTW). Only the Cowboys and the Niners have more passing TD’s. I think getting consistent pressure on Love is going to be critical on Sunday.
Well, then they need to blitz 75% of the time, since Hunter is the only healthy starter and they will double him up all day.
I still say Viking win this one, and then lose to the JV lions next week.
Just read yours. Agreed.
Seems plausible.
Here’s something you may not know Surly. Danielle Hunter has 15.5 sacks this season. That’s awesome, but Hunter has hit all of his contract incentive markers, making $3 million for surpassing 14 sacks.
So he isn’t likely going to be very inspired the last to games.
Perhaps, he wasn’t stellar aginst kitties.
Did he play against Lions? don’t recall him doing anything.
Hunter just a qb “hit” and a few tackles i read somewhere.
Wonnum out, sure Hunter gets more attention. Doubt they pressure much.
The last few weeks the Packers defense has been pretty bad. The NY Giants (basically the worst offense in the league) put up 24 points on them and they missed a 48 yard field goal in the game too. Then, they gave up 34 points to the Bucs, with Mayfield throwing for 381 yards and four touchdowns, which equated to the maximum possible passer rating (158.3). In last week’s game against the Panthers, they gave up 30 points, again against one of the worst offenses in the league. Their DC (Joe Berry) has been roundly criticized, but really I think their defensive woes are mostly because their players are failing to make some plays (fewest interceptions in the league I think) and the Rasul Douglas trade, coupled with Jaire Alexander not playing due to a shoulder injury (or whatever) has led to weak defenders in the secondary.
Hopefully all this works to our advantage Sunday, and Hall can make some plays with his arm. This is basically the perfect defense for almost any QB in the NFL to face at the moment.
Yes…defense is bad, and their oline isnt good either right now…I smell a victory.
SKOL my brothers! At a lake house 2 hours out of Minnieapolis. Hangig herre for while before we head into the cities. Taking in the wolves tonight and rhe Vikes tomorrow.
Yes, I like tbe soda slut.
And 55 and over qualifies as old.
And Vikes win 24 to 20.
FTP!
SKOL, and glad you made it there safe. Good takes across the board as well. I think the Vikings must do two things to win tommorrow. Protect Hall and give him time, and pressure Love incessantly. Then your 24-20 prediction will likely come to fruition.
55 – you’re still a kid.
Vikes offense should roll, but I’m worried about our pass defense. Not sure we could stop Alabama’s passing attack.
Have fun.
SKOL, have fun!
Just love her enthusiasm! Thanks!
Youยดre welcome, mate!
Soda sloot is nerdy-hot imo.
I am 60, so you are still a kid.
Have fun this weekend! I would actually watch the Wolves since they are doing so well, but for some reason Bally sports or whatever is yet another app I will never purchase, and the team is never on TV
I suggest pre-gaming prior to the Vikings game so you are not paying $15 for bud light in the stadium.
SKOL
FTP
Not sure where we are going, but my brother has friends with a hotel near the stadium. Going there about 3pm tomorrow drinking before the game.
Iโm in the nosebleeds. 314
Enjoy the game!
Not sure if this is going to be the site for the day, or if a weekend thread is going to be posted, but good morning and SKOL!
Good morning, SKOL!
Good morning.
Cool and sunny in central florida.
Actually very nice.
See all our late night opinions on QB options didn’t change a thing. But still, some nice thoughts.
Yes, but honestly, all things being equal, this is the best opportunity Hall is going to have to shine. The Packers passing defense is bad, and they are on a three game skid in terms of giving up points to less than stellar teams.
For sure, I think Hall will be fine. Now, our pass defense, that’s another matter – we simply can’t cover anyone.
I was kind of surprised to see that only six teams have allowed fewer passing TD’s this season than the Vikings. They’ve only allowed 18 passing TD’s in 16 games. If they match that standard Sunday, i think we win.
Guess I’m shaded by recentcy bias.
Also, Panthers, Bears, Denver, Falcons, Raiders don’t have adult offenses.
Bengals and Lions have NFL offenses. Not sure where the Packers stack up, but I don’t think our secondary can cover their receivers. First game, Love couldn’t hit a barn, he’s gotten a lot better lately.
Adult offenses…great term.
I have my moments but not so many any more.
Made me LoL on the “Adult Offenses”
Team has a chance to squeak into the playoffs, or not.
At least both remaining games should be entertaining.
Hall gets a prime chance to prove he belongs in the NFL(even as a quality backup).
Or, he gets concussed and we see more of the Mullens turnovers again.
Wow, talk about Def.
Ohio St – Missouri is a 3 – 0 game half way thru the 3rd qtr.
Down goes THE Ohio St.
Ok,
We made it to 200 comments on a Holiday Week Friday.
I now feel like we have accomplished something.
Thank You to all who have participated in this monumental event.
Let’s make it to 201 then and see how far we can push this thing ๐
201 seems odd.
KOC on Mullens after benching him and making him the back-up for Sundays game:
“Quite frankly, I’ve got a lot of confidence in Nick, regardless of what the situation is that he goes into that game, that he can go out and have success.”
I swear, KOC is the biggest spin-meister I’ve ever seen. Talks out of both sides of his mouth with the best of them.
He has a lot of confidence that Mullins CAN go out and have success. He just doesn’t DO it on any consistent basis.
I’m with you on that. Looks like his time with Cousins hasn’t shown him the light… yet.
Well since his ‘time with Cousins’ seems to have run up one would hope that getting bench for a rookie would force some self revelation and the light bulb would go on.
By this time I believe that it is something he can’t/refuses to change.
Potentially
Nah. Heโs a font of wisdom that has nothing to learn because heโs a top dog.
sort of noticed only us old guys hang around late. Guess. the young guys go out drinking and chasing women.
‘us old guys’
I resemble that remark.
Ditto
Welcome to the club.
I’m supposed to be putting away Christmas stuff my wife is bringing out to the garage.
I’m actually just drinking beer and listening to music.
Current selection Midnight confessions by Grass Roots.
Good song.
What is considered “old” in this context, like 60+ or something? Just curious if I qualify, will become 52 in a few days.
Youngster…
Whippersnapper!
Thanks guys, your posts kinda answer the question ๐
Old and young are both ‘relative’ terms.
Watching an interesting football show with some good football stuff.
They just pointed something out I guess is obvious, but I never thought about it.
Namely, if you see a teams #1 receiver lined up in the slot, you can bet that’s where the ball is going..
Doesn’t that normally get them a mismatch with the LB?
And it’s a much tougher coverage for a DB as there is no sideline for help. And according to the experts, slot Corners aren’t normally as good.
Not as good?
Or not as good covering #1 receivers due to different skillset?
Thought Slot DBs needed different skills/body types than edge DBs.
From what I heard the best CB’s play on the outside – and make the most money. sort of like the best WR or WR1 are normally lined up on the outside. thus, when you put a WR1 in the slot, creates problems.
This is what I found on my friend Google.
“Outside corners have the length that is necessary to go up against the receivers that can go up high to catch the ball. Slot receivers and corners work in the middle of the field. They tend to be smaller than outside, as a lot of them are under 6′”
You need to tell our CB’s that part about going up for the ball – think they missed that part.
I think they often ‘go up’ after the ball, they just suck at the timing and are back down by the time the ball arrives.
So it ‘looks like’ they never jumped.
What if I like corner slots?
Are those like Pull Tabs??
Kinda. But if you pull the wrong one you get an STD
Kind of like the ‘Soda Can Humping Slot’ that NoDakRube likes so much?
You called?
Yup,
That’s his crush.
KOC said he was starting Hall because we have to maintain possession of the ball. I.e. stop throwing interceptions. If Hall doesn’t turn the ball over, but also doesn’t move the ball or score points, what then? If we’re down 21-0 at the half, does KOC say to Jaren “sorry son, gotta put the gunslinger back in. You ain’t gettin it done”. OR does he say “well we have to play the hand out” and just let Hall finish the game, regardless?
I’ll go with YES.
Laughing
In Formal Logic if either half of an ‘either or’ statement is true then the statement is true/valid.
So since I believe one or the other will happen I can see that the statement is true and therefore I can answer yes.
That’s my answer and I am sticking to it.
Just my opinion – KOC has handled it ass backwards. Like the recent offense, 24 points and great passing offense. Hate the turnovers.
Would have still started Mullens with VERY CLEAR understanding HE MUST PROTECT THE BALL – or quickly off to the bench.
Now, he’s put himself in a bad spot. This is a must win game. Hall starts having problems, you got to give the kid a chance. KOC has put himself in a bad spot – in my opinion.
I think you and I are on different levels here with Mullens.
He’s not going to protect the ball.
He is never going to protect the ball.
Best case scenario, you just get lucky and his mistakes go unpunished.
Hell, he should have thrown a pick 6 on top of all the other chaos he brought. We were lucky that CB dropped it.
It should have been 14-0 Lions.
KOC should have had that convo with him then and there.
Stop throwing stupid balls.
But he just kept on doing it, and KOC left him in there since he was moving the offense.
But the WRs were so wide open anyone with even a hint of QB talent should have light them up.
Maybe Hall shits the bed. Maybe not. But we all know what you got with Mullens. Chaos. Pure Chaos.
You can’t just send him back out there and expect him do do anything else.
But….but
I heard that since Mullins is good at the “Process” of quarterbacking he is the more gooder choice for being the starter.
And since the one who advanced that opinion is Smart/knowledgeable/articulate it must be true.
Well… even KOC in his presser said Mullens was very comfortable in running the offense, and knows what he’s doing… which is what this knowledgeable, articulate, and might I add good looking poster said.
I might add that my humility is what makes me so great.
I agree with all your points except one. I’ll leave it up to you to guess.
I do think Mullens can look like a starter when he isn’t doing dangerous things with the football.
I think KOC believes or at least believed he can coach that out of him. I’ve just given up on Mullens learning to protect the ball.
The ‘between the ears stuff’ is vital for a QB when processing things in real time under pressure.
Difficult to do, and evidently easy to 2nd guess when it goes wrong.
I suck at doing it but am pretty good at the hindsight part.
Looks like you are complete package.
At least in your own mind.
#grin
I’m very self-aware… so I got that going for me. Grin.
Are you also ‘self-aware’ of your delusions??
I know I’m not delusional… so that’s a plus.
I think you are a bit delusional about your lack of delusions.
Laughing…
lmao
In all fairness, Mullens when he is behaving himself looks like a starter. He’s just nuts.
I really like his throws on some of the timing routes we ran against the Bengals. They were out routes, and not easy to hit.
But he just seems to lose it and do all sorts of wierd, scary throws.
Also why he is not a starter I guess.
So he is both good and scary.
But no where near Scary Good?
LOL!
During the Bengals game I posted that he scares me every time he drops back to pass.
Guy has talent. I’m just off the Mullens wagon.
Not really – not crazy about the options.
I would have pulled Dobbs earlier in the Bears game and not played him at Denver.
With Mullens, I mean a really shoot leash – like you throw one of those “stupid hero type” throws (whether intercepted or not), you’re getting pulled.
And I’d have Hall ready to go.
I agree about pulling Dobbs in the Bears game.
I do see a decent amount of talent in Mullens and see why you would like him out there. I just have given up on him.
I’m not sure if Hall is the guy or not.
But for me, Mullens is too much of a wild card.
Wes Phillips pretty much said that they liked what they see out of Hall in practice, but they have no idea how that will translate in a game. IMO: Time to find out.
I guess I am not Knowledgeable enough to be impressed with Mullins, I am more results based.
I don’t care how professional/knowledgeable/competent/pretty you look doing something. If you don’t get that ‘thing’ done properly/correctly you are not doing it right.
“Just get ‘er done” is an actual thing with me.
Mullens must drive KOC nuts.
As a coach, he’s got to be thinking that he can get him to behave out there.
Mullens has a decent amount of talent. You would think getting him to not throw an INT to the guy sacking him should be the easy part.
Must be a DNA thing.
Growing up watching Farve set in his brain that ‘this is the way it is done’.
Kind of how The Hitman said he had to ‘relearn’ now to play safety after all the rule changes on legal hits.
He said he grew up playing one way and that way wouldn’t work any more. That safety in Denver came in about the same time and never learned the ‘new improved way’ to tackle/hit.
I really don’t know how to evaluate this. 400 yards with 4 interceptions. And if had had completed the last pass to JJ we would have won. Do think the ball slipped.
Hall – if he throws for 250 and only 2 interceptions, is that better?
For me it depends on if we win or not.
Winning despite Mullins (if we had) doesn’t mean Mullins led us to the win.
KOC said Dobbs led the Vikings to 3 wins. But the only way that math works is if you credit Dobbs with the 3-0 win over the Raiders, where he got benched.
If you expand the definition far enough then all things are possible.
If we win Sunday then it could be said:
“Mullins led us to the win by sitting on the bench thereby allowing Hall to come in and perform”.
Perfectly logical…
For certain definitions of Logic.
It all depends. Sustain drives. Score points. Protect the ball. He does that then I would say it is better.
Plus are the 2 interceptions tipped balls? Misreads by the receiver? Quit on the ball ala Reagor??
Three coulda-shoulda-woulda options is what we have at the moment.
Like 3 Card Monte, “Step Right Up and Take Your Chances”.
Kirk Cousins was named the 2023 Korey Stringer Media Good Guy by the Minnesota Chapter of Pro Football Writers of America today.
Named in honor of Stringer, the Vikings former right tackle who tragically passed away in 2001, the award recognizes a player each season who is especially cooperative, straightforward and authentic with the reporters who cover him.
So, out of the Minnesota Pro athletes at various sports, Kirk is a good guy.
Not shocked.
Well, it’s a little more than that. It’s also about his willingness to share more “intimately” with the press. Probably based on how open he was about himself in that “Quarterback” series on Netflix. Got to see a lot more of his personal life, etc.
Itโs been an annual award for years and itโs given by the local media. It has nothing to do with Netflix. Thanks for playing though.
I remember Korey Stringers passing away, it was similar to Teddy’s knee blowing up in how it affected the team & the fans. We had high hopes for him that year.
Zombie Flacco is kind of fun.
I vote for a Zombie Flacco vs. the Lions Super Bowl.
I would enjoy that.
Could be entertaining, I’d watch that.
for everyone who loves defense.
Kentucky leading Clemson by five with about a minute left, 65 yards to go.
Kentucky goes into prevent defense and Clemson scores winning TD with 17 seconds left. Game over.
You see this week end, week out at every level of football.
There must be a DC bible and chapter 1, verse 1, must say thou must go into a prevent defense protecting a lead inside of two minutes.
It was written by Zimmer
recently saw a show with Zimmer – he says he is studying film everyday and going to come back to coaching.
Rosie mentioned a DC with pukes.
Theo Jackson (DB), Byron Murphy (CB), Jalen Nailor (WR), and Jaquelin Roy (DT) are listed as out for Sunday. Jordan Addison (WR), Mekhi Blackmon (CB), and Troy Dye (LB) are questionable.
Anthony Barr has been signed to the active roster for Sunday, and Nick Vigil has been signed to the practice squad.
Hoping for Addison playing to give Hall another decent target.
#nojinx
I think that’s a good point. No Addison and no Hockenson would be really hard on Hall. Yes Johnny Mundt can catch the ball, but he is clearly a step down from Hock. KJ can be a solid #2 WR, but it’s better for him with JJ and JA lining up. KJ gets far less attention then, and thus can be far more effective. We’re just much weaker in our receiving corps than we would like to be, for Hall to come in. Especially if Addison can’t go.
thought KOC made a great point in presser. Noted at end even without Hock and JA, they still had a lot of WR wide open against Detroit.
While you always want all you A guys out there, still think Hall will have plenty of open receivers to hit.
Agree about KJ.
The date of my super toilet install is drawing nigh. Oh how I will relish the splashing of warm water on my nether regions.
Electricians are putting in all the outlets, switches and lights next couple of days. It pains me to not do it myself but such is the price of progress. I did tell them I’d install my own ceiling fans. Tongue and groove ceiling going up in my office, the bedroom, and the “TV room” as my wife calls it, the “sun room” as I called it until my wife informed me that I was a dumbass calling it a sun room, “it’s not a sun room!”
You ever watch Married with Children, when Al gets his fancy toilet?
No, I haven’t seen that one.
does sun hit the room? sounds like a sun room to me
I found out that one does not joke about these things. “calling it a sun room makes you sound dumb”
Whatโs it called then?
“TV room”
NOT A SUN ROOM!
that’s a beautiful room and i recognize that landscape!
I don’t see a TV, I do see sun…
I suppose we will be able to tell how comfortable Hall is in the pocket if we strart running crossing routes a ton.
Halls “highlight” tapes always have his wonderful ability to hit recievers instride on crossing routes.
KOC also loves a good crossing route, as do I.
I honestly think his ability to pop a guy instride on a 20 yard crossing route is why we drafted him.
But do you call a play that will take over 3 seconds to break open with a rookie?
Or do you call that play, but with different depths?
If you see Hall stand in the pocket and start dealing out darts on those 15-20 yard crossing routes, the Packers are fucked.
The good thing about those 15 -20 yard crossers is that most of the throws and reads are right in front of the QB and thus some of the easier plays to execute well.
Correct. Mostly just takes poise in the pocket, and good blocking to let the route develop. Against zone coverage, there will almost always be a gap to throw to if you have the time and poise.
For sure most all QB’s will. find it far easier to throw in’s than outs.
Other thing he’s got to be careful about – don’t stare down the receiver. there’s usually always another safety hanging around and you have to move him with your eyes.
Isn’t a crossing route really a long-developing slant? People keep saying we never run slants………well?
Not really. A slant is delivered immediately off the break. A crosser is delivered long after the receiver makes his break, and well across the field. Two completely different routes, and two completely different throws.
I still say Vikings win this week, then, while Detroit is resting 15 starters, we lose to the lions JV squad to end the season.
Sounds about right
Now that Calif has raised the minimum wage to $20 an hour Pizza Hut has laid off all of their Delivery Drivers in Calif.
I wonder how many more minimum wage workers will be making $0 per hour instead of $20.
Stupid Politicians, it was $16. an hour (the highest in the country) before they ‘Virtue Signaled’ by raising it to $20.
https://www.usatoday.com/story/money/2023/12/26/pizza-hut-layoffs-california-minimum-wage/72033582007/
Well, Pizza Hut could of course just raised the prices to reflect the increase in labor cost too.
It’s $30 now for a meal at a place like McDonald’s or Chipotle. I’m told we’re better off than ever!
for how many people? I get McDs every Tuesday for two adults and two kids and its about $18, I suppose it depends what you get though
I got 3 big Macs, a cheeseburger, and a large fries. was just about $21.
That would probably feed all 4 in my fam, my kids are pretty young though
My wife and I are big eaters I guess – probably mostly me.
mcdonalds app is the way to go. i can feed my family of 5, for around $21
Yeah, my wife uses that all the time, its great
It’s buggy and sucks ass. I deleted it.
not buggy at all for me and doesn’t suck butt for me
Ah to live in the land of 5G cell coverage and pristine wi-fi.
Quite honestly it f’d up every other time I used it and I finally got so sick of weird little 2FA quirks that I deleted it. I only used it when we traveled in our little motor home cuz it’s too tall to fit in the drive through lane overhang. Now I just go in and use the touch screen and then go hang outside for awhile until I figure the order is ready. That way I can get multiple refills of my iced tea and stick it to the man.
I’m actually friends with a couple of guys that own most of the franchises in this part of the state and I’ve told them that app is horse apples. They are as sympathetic as freezey.
I’m eating at the wrong FF place. We hit BK last weekend, me, wife (non-carnivore), and 2 kids. $31 and none of us bought a drink to go with the lunch meal.
$18/4 people = $4.50 person.
So you eat the $1, $2, $3 menu.
That can work if thatโs all you want to eat.
I have drinks at home so I never get them, the kids get happy meals which are like $4. My wife and I both choose something on special from the app, usually ends up around $18-20.
Also, I don’t about in DE but here it is $1 for a soda no matter the size
Sorry, I should have specified for two. Big Mac meal is $12.19. Toss in a plain burger for the dogs to share.
I just saw an article about Mcdonalds earnings on Twitter.
People were talking about the $18 big mac meal in Conn.
Anyways, I don’t usually get my news from the Post, but you can read all about it here.

Here in Tampa, a Quarter Pounder with cheese meal (medium) and 10 piece McNuggets cost $29. That’s what I get about once a week for me and my wife.
No idea how you feed 4 people at McDonalds for $18.
Thank you! Minnesota must have price controls in place.
Or heโs full of shit. Thereโs no way that costs $29, unless heโs paying a homeless crackhead to blow him in the drive thru lane in addition to his McDโs order. Which would make sense in a lot of ways.
BTW MTโฆjust did a bit of research. Tampa sales tax is 7.5%, which equates to roughly $27 net if NVF is paying $29.
I Googled a quarter pounder with cheese meal and a 10 piece nugget in Tampa, delivered, and it was $11.99 and $4.29 (at the high end), respectively, Thatโs $16.43 after tax, which leaves NVF $10 plus a tip to get his crackhead BJ and his McD meal for $29, and his wife is none the wiser.
since this is a “current event” I do believe there have been several studies that show for every X increase in the minimum wage, Y jobs are eliminated.
Also, this is from memory, aWSJ article – McDonald’s jobs were never suppose to be a “career” job. For PT jobs for college kids, housewives with time etc. Now, we have folks starting and ending there careers as MCD clerks.
Its a good job for people with disabilities too
For sure.
You know we all want to beat the Packers and there’s enthusiasm for Hall playing.
But I wonder, and am frankly a little worried, how is our defense going to play.?
Well, for both you and Fkey, and I think you’re both correct, we may need 40 points.
Depends on how many CBs are able to play, RN two of the top 3 would be out and I have no clue who would lay the slot.
chuck would for sure lay the parking lot sloot
Haven’t seen chunk around lately
Sounds like he’s in prison.
@loved his date rape story@
i don’t even know this story but yuck
Back when I had little street cred I stopped by the bad boys club y’all had going on at the gopher, thought I’d see what was going on…he had just posted an eek story about his roommate’s gf and I was like…I’m out.
IDK why but he liked to make jokes about rape, like the one that got him banned from DN
I’m not going to go into it, he’s not here to explain or defend what he said, but what he described was clearly non consensual and it was not like a haha thing like “the only time my wife doesn’t have a headache is when she’s sleeping”
Depends on if the Packers can catch those 5 yard passes and avoid penalties.
Our defense isn’t changing this late.
Those outside passes will be there.
But if you get flag happy refs and your offense catches some holding penalties or your guys drop balls, you’ll be in 3rd and long.
Flores defense still has some surprises built in if we get them into 3rd and long.
Pretty sure they watch film just like several of your posts this last week. Our zone defenses couldn’t cover my wife running patterns.
Yeah. I still think its funny how Flores never used to play cover 2 much at all.
It was mostly cover 1 or 3.
Its why he was so difficult to figure out. Are you getting 3 deep or 1?
Who is blitzing?
Now he calls cover 2 30% of the time. That stat I posted a few days ago said we ran cover 2 the most in the league, which I still don’t think is right…but i haven’t found anyhting that says it is not true.
Guy is running Donatels classic shell about a third of the time.
I don’t think he wants to.
Doesn’t trust the corners and cover-2 is probably the safest option to go to.
Hit the nail – doesn’t trust his corners. Pretty sure he knows if his pressure package doesn’t get home, he’s in trouble on the backend.
In the first Packer game, Love couldn’t hit a barn, believe he has gotten a lot better since then.
My wife should be an archaeologist.
something something takes months to find a bone something something
No, she’s an expert at digging up the past
Based on years of history, wife’s can easily recall every bad thing you have ever done.
Yes, she can recall what I said 8 years ago that made her feel demeaned. Meanwhile I don’t even remember the conversation we had last unless she reminds me. Probably has something to do with how much I talk vs. how much she talks.
You’re still young – she’ll still remember 25 years from now.
LOL, I hope not
Believe me – count on it!
She must be a Packers fan as well
oh….thats not just your wife…
yeah, i’ll never hear the end of sloppyjoegate
I get the “do you even remember what I said last Friday about the trim in the office?” Oh no…
So do I, and when I ask, “oh sorry, remind me again”, I get the response, “why so you can just ignore me again”
She likes to design buildings?
Since Iโm going to the game, I am excited to see Hall start.
Itโs the finish Iโm more worried about.
FTP
Hopefully its a good game.

Have a great time!
FTP! Have fun at the game.
Jamar Chase trash talking Chiefs ahead of this weekend’s matchup:
https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/39199617/bengals-jamarr-chase-adds-fire-fuel-digs-chiefs
There was so much talk during/after LSU’s national championship season about JJ being their #2 guy and Chase being their #1 guy. As it turns out, not only is JJ the better NFL receiver, he’s also the better person. Not to mention, he’s smart enough to know the phrase is “adding fuel to the fire”, not “adding fire to the fuel”. Jamar dum dum.
Please just kick the crap out of the Packers. I’ve made no secret that I like Hall, but I really just want to beat the packers. Mullens would be just fine with me if he wasn’t a turnover machine. But he is, and Hall is up.
I hope KOC has a decent game plan. Pack suck against the run, and we got a new guy back there. So the Pack will be stacking the box against the run.
KOC will need to call just enough pass plays on first down to keep them guessing.
I would expect a heavy dose of PA, especially on the first series.
If we can force the Pack out of a run heavy defense, and repect out pass game, we will win. If we are going run, run, pass into a stacked packer defense, it’ll be a long day.
It’ll be important that KOC runs a balanced offense. My guess is the Packers will stack the box early and often. They’ll force us to pass, and stay in that defense until we do.
I would expect the pack to stay in a base defense most of the day. KOC will be tempted to go air raid on that since it would only have 4 DBs, but he has to stick with the run here.
I hope we kick the shit out of the Packers.
Packers stack the box, Hall sucks, FTP win. The end. Or not. IDK.
Totally agree. Or not. Hopefully beat the Pack, but who knows this year.
You do care though
Maybe, we’ll see

complete douche.
This guy is the only one I hate as much as A Aron Rogers
Seen about 8 teams that may want him. Sadly, most list minny as odds on favorite. Gag me.
Ah but then they get a better draft pick…hmmmmm decisions decisions.
I don’t know. Packers have a poor defense and are playing without their best CB.
we don’t run the ball worth crap. Our strength is passing the ball – down the field.
I believe in the theory always play to your strength. Hall is an NFL QB and on the team for a reason. Been reading (here) he has a pretty good arm. OK, let him fling it then.
Let the young guy make some plays. or simply just get the ball to our playmakers and let them.
I’m concerned about Hall’s ability to decipher an NFL defense, and playing from a congested pocket. If I’m the Packers, I’m bringing some exotic blitzes early. I don’t know if Hall has the goods to see, understand, decide, and deliver against heavy pressure.
Take away the screen, and pressure him a lot. That’s what I think the Packers will do. Can anyone say slants? KOC simply does not throw the slant, or a timing route of any kind for the most part. He needs to give Hall some throws he can make quickly, and move the ball 5 to 7 yards at a time.
You may well be right. I’d still at least start out swinging with what I do best and then adjust as necessary. We really haven’t run or thrown screens well all year – tough to start in week 17.
I find the slant issue interesting. as you know, easiest reads and throws for a QB. But, the downside, your WR’s are going to take some shots. Our guys aren’t built like Debo. And if the throw is just a little bit off, they are really. going to get smacked. i probably wouldn’t start this in week 17 either.
We’ll see what KOC comes up with.
Most likely he does well the first 15 scripted plays and struggles with reading the defense as the game goes on.
I get it. I’m not remotely worried about his physical abilities.
Arm strength is adequate.
Also, guys got some massive legs for a QB. Looks more like a RB with the leg strength.
Where what is the arm barred thoughts from? Not sure I understand.
I’m not sure what you’re asking.
Typed that up from a treadmill at the gym so might be a bit rambling
OK, I’m just not a big believer in run the offense to protect the defense. If Hall can engineer a drive and score in 5 plays, so be it. If the defense wants to rest, they simply have to go out and not give up 10 yards in 3 plays – then they can rest again.
Here’s how I see this playing out.
Packers will do what every team does against an unproven rookie and try and take away the run.
KOC will see this and run PA with some deep shots and a lot of passes early. We burn them multiple times, and they’ll adjust.
If they adjust, then we need to alter our game plan some too. Does not mean you just completely abandon what is working. Just mix in some new looks.
My biggest issue with KOC was how the offense would disappear for the entire third quarter last year. Teams would adjust to our game plan, and he wouldn’t.
So if the pass is working and they start running out 5 or 6 DBs, time to run some. Or at least adjust the passes to take advantage of the look.
I don’t like completely abandoning the run.
I’ve always been of the opinion that you have to run to keep defenses honest. Doesn’t mean you have too make it a center piece of your game plan.
I have to go look up the stats on top, but this topic was beaten to death on the DN.
Anyone remember the breakdowns?
It was something like if you won top by like 35 to 25, you had an 80% chance of winning.
The Zimmer Stan’s would break this out non stop.
Since their hero wanted to win top more than the game.
Ok. That last bit was bait.
For sure I like and believe in run some. You really need to.
But even when Cousins was playing, they knew we were going to pass and we faced light boxes, we still couldn’t tun the ball. Don’t recall us running very well in last Packer game, but we clobbered their pass defense.
even with Hall, believe we can still do the same.
I just think we should have success against the pack running the ball since they are giving up almost 136 yards on the ground and rank 30th against run.
Detroit is #4 with 90.
Bengals were #26, and we ran well on them.
I agree though that we are built to pass, so I hope we call a decent mix. I don’t want to go one dimensional.
14 comments at 9:15, what is everyone doing?
Also, when I got to the point I’d typed in slac in the gif search this was the first gif shown, kinda weird
I dont think its weird
I don’t know what to say. Oh wait, I just said something. Never mind.
Happens to the best of us.
I get this:
Similar to the Vikings situation, rash of injuries including probably the best RB in the NFL. I think the Browns probably have a better overall roster but they also play in a much, much better division. Not sure why some people on here hate on Stefanski, but he’s doing a really good job as HC in Cleveland.
I wanted him to be new HC after the end of 2019, Wanted Rick, Zim and Kirk gone.
Hard to justify firing a HC when the team did win a playoff game, but that SF loss was the beginning of the end. Bunch of roster moves on D that offseason.
After 2019? That was a good football team that went down and beat a good Saints team (believe we were big underdogs). Got punched by the Niners but their defense did that to everyone else too including the Packers the following week.
They snuck by an overratted saints team imo. And you saw Kirk and Zim fold under pressure like they usually do against top teams. Excuses are like asses.
No sense arguing – opinions are like asses too.
Film doesn’t have an opinions. Go back and watch film of Niner Viking game. Then go back and watch game following week of Niner Packer game. Packers were a 13 game team, with a HOF QB, and they got trashed too, the same way.
And if you want more real research, watch the Chiefs Niners SB. If Mahomes hadn’t gotten away with a punt/pass to Hill late in game, they wold have gotten it too.
Coulda shoulda woulda. Im not saying the 49ers weren’t great that year but thats my point, Kirks not good enough to go toe to toe with great. Never has been, never will. Stats also dont have opinions. And if you look at that Packers team they were the worst ranked, shittiest stats having 13 win team in 2019, they were frauds as well if you dont lose the forest through the trees. That is until last years Vikings took that record from them as well. Look, if you think the 2019 Vikings team was good enough and no one should have been fired, fine. I will disagree until the day I die. So yes, no sense in arguing.
You are of course entitled to your opinion. – and it doesn’t make it better or worse than anyone elses.
But we were talking about 2019 and Rogers (a great talent) looked like crap against that Niner defense. And Mahomes, maybe the best to ever play, got it handed to him most all of that game by the same defense. Those are facts that most football folks would agree with – not just me.
Now, should someone have been fired after that season, I’m not sure – haven’t really given it that much thought. But seriously, I doubt any ownership in the NFL would have let anyone go after the season the Vikings had.
Disagree, that would have been Zims 6th year with only one NFCCG appearance to show for it and 2nd time getting ass blasted by better teams, his time and the Kirk experiment were done the moment that game ended, and we went down the train of madness for years after. Setting us back. And now were trying to rebuild while holding on to pieces of the past and over paying to do so, it makes 0 sense.
I would not say I am excited to see Hall Sunday, I would use the word curious, like how will he suck as bad as most Viking rookie QBs in their first start like Ponder, T-Jack, or Spergon Wynn or will he suck less. I am pleased KOC again recognized you can’t have a turnover machine at QB and made another change, but I don’t expect many explosive plays like they had under Mullens. Unless a guy is so wide open deep that Edward Scissorhands could throw him the ball, like the throw to Mattison in ATL, It’ll be a lot of screens and checkdowns, which is fine, the biggest thing will be for him not to turn the ball over and make good decisions in the RZ, which was something both Dobbs and Mullens sucked at. Green Bay is actually terrible against the run, I would run a lot with Chandler and Mattison, naturally KOC will throw the ball 70% of the plays though. Hall didn’t have the deer in the headlights look like Mond did in his first action, so that’s good.
Starting Hall makes the most sense. If he sucks horribly you can always put Mullens back out there, he is quite used to being called upon in relief whereas Hall is not and likely would not respond well in that situation, especially given he wouldn’t have had the starters reps during the week, Mullens can also come in and play without those reps.
not gonna lie….curious to see if Hall throws 4 picks….
we’d have to be the first team in history to have 3 starting qb’s throw for 4 picks in a game.
Yes, break moar records!
Ben. You’re asking tough questions the last couple of days.
First, he can play great, or he can play badly – most important thing is we beat the Packers.
Personally, I want whoever is under center for us to play great – all of them.
And again personally, I want us to. win the next two games. I’ll worry about next year in a few weeks.
I always want to win. I wanted to see Hall start because, what the hell, he couldn’t possibly be worser than Dobbs or Mullens turnover machines right? I still think the Vikings beat FTP on Sunday, even with backups all over the place.
I mean Hall should do just fine. the Packers have a poor defense and if we get by them, we’ve already seen Mullens throw for over 400 yards against the Lions. I expect he’ll play really well actually.
I didn’t even bother looking at a lot of the all 22 from the last game.
Lions couldn’t cover our guys.
Even when Addison and hock went down. Guys were consistently getting open.
Hall should do fine against that.
and the Packers can’t cover either.
Yes, very much. I am hoping he plays well enough that the team would be confident going into next season with Hall/Rookie/Mullens
If he doesn’t throw 4 picks it will be an improvement over Dobbs and Mullens, something they both did. I expect a lot of throws over the middle short and intermediate. If he just goes something like 20/30 for 200 and no picks the Vikings should be in the game. More concerning are the injuries at CB for the Vikings, Murphy hasn’t practiced all week and Blackmon didn’t until yesterday and was limited even then, which means we’re likely too see a fair amount of Booth or Najee Thompson.
I agree. I want FTP to lose. Always.
I also would like to see the Vikings somehow make the playoffs, but if they do not, I am just hoping Hall plays well enough to inspire some confidence from the coaching staff.
No to Wilson, or Minshew, or #8 returning.
Draft your guy this spring and live with it.
When you say “live with it” what do you mean? I’m not completely sure, not trying to be argumentative.
Make a decision, and stand by that decision, and live with the results, good or bad. Draft the QBOTF and realize the coach and GM evaluations will be tied to that decision.
OK – I’m just not into the QBOTF stuff, Probably an age thing. Put the best QB you can find under center to run the offense the most effectively. Starting game 1, next year, I want to win it.
Team tried that by signing the best free agent vet available prior to 2018. 6 season later we have 1 playoff win to show for it. It did work for the Rams with Stafford though.
Draft your guy and make the run before the contract gets prohibitive. You have 4 years to build a team around a rookie QB before things get crazy expensive.
KC and Buffalo are both feeling the pain of huge QB contracts. Sustainable success is hard.
Overpaying one player can be the difference between that free agent that helps the team win one more game, or missing out completely.
Not what I’m saying. I believe in meritocricy (sp).
Reid replaced Smith with Mahomes because he was better day 1. McKay replaced Goeff with Stafford because he was better day 1. Peterson replaced Wentz with Hurts because he was better then.
Replace Cousins, I;m fine – just replace him with someone better. That’s all. Don’t waste the strength of our team – the WR corp.
And I’m not in to all the development stuff. Future is next year. Football is the entertainment business. If i go to the movies, watch a Spielberg film. and it’s crappy because Spielberg let his son direct for ‘training purposes. I’m not to damn happy.
Actually its more like 6 seasons with how they structure them, this year Allen’s cap hit is only 18 mil and its his 6th season, so Buffalo isn’t feeling anything at this point. Mahomes cap hit is 37 mil this year, which isn’t bad.
I would be ok with Minshew, a 1st round rookie, and Hall. Minshew has a far less talented Colts team in the playoffs at the moment and tied for the division. Absolutely no to Wilson, Mr. Unlimited my ass, he’s limited to the bench.
