I have one of those but saving it! I can’t smoke everyday I’ll save it for the weekends and special sporting events or such. The dopamine rush which is what THC does to get you high the next day when your dopamine levels crash it can cause depression feeling. Hell yeah. I’ve worked in both corrections and mental health. Started in private security and did a ton of that part-time and then got into corrections, learned PPCT and became an instructor then ended up traveling to various mental health institutions to teach various hold/restraint techniques that were appropriate for patients as opposed to inmates such as Mandt and TACT2 training. Have an infinite amount of stories of working around the mentally ill – from OCD patients that take 4 hours to shave to full blown paranoid schizophrenia patients who were extremely violent. Interesting stuff.

Best part: Goose has a rubber boat squeaky toy that he loves. And he loves to swim. Many times I got to throw the toy out for him to retrieve in the water and would say:

Why would NRD stock a private farm pond?
Been an agreement between them and the state for over 40 years as I understand it. They’ve got to maintain a certain quality level regarding the water, surrounding area, potential ground contamination, etc. I’ve fished there for almost 25 years now. This is one of several ponds his family owns on farm ground throughout Eastern Nebraska and I think they’ve all been stocked by NRD. I don’t know for certain but I’d speculate that the state also reserves the right to do various studies and stock with whatever fish they choose.
Depending on the fish hatchery system they have there I would guess they see it as an emergency supply of fish if needed as well should there be some sort of outbreak at the hatcheries.
Fished a farm pond couple times (public). 2-3 years stacked with crappies but they do die unless you stock. Good for you to have that access.
The old man died last year at 96 and I was an honorary pall bearer – so I’m close to them. He was born, raised and died on that land having only left to serve WW2. Lot of fond memories. Was informed about a week ago that the family is selling that property in particular and they’ll be writing it into the deal that a select few, including me, can fish there. I’m very lucky. But I do the whole ‘take only pictures, leave only footprints’ thing and you’d never know I was there.

Mainly largemouth bass. Occasionally will pull a yellow perch. I’ve never caught one of the Carp that ‘patrols’ the pond. One of the ponds farther north has a shitload of channel catfish – had lots of fun up there too.

Vikings need a Mahomes level generational guy to get over the hump likely that’s why I would support a change. Getting said guy is another thing entirely.
What wall is he hitting? He is in the top of the league every single year in passing yards, and TD’s. Every year. Never missed a game for injury. I’ve watched him his whole career. His teams don’t lose because of him when they lose, but they generally win because of him when they win.
Wall is probably an inaccurate term to use…more the quality of team around him. He needs to be on a contender of Philly or San Fran’s level. If he were on the chiefs he could not take them to a SB and win it. If Mahomes was on the Vikings, we’re probably 2-1 or 3-0 and a SB contender. It’s not that Mahomes is THAT much better but its his style vs Cousins style that is the difference.

Never tried nicotine but go cold turkey. Watch some videos of stoma care and controlling secretions post laryngectomy.
Yeah as a practicing RRT years ago slipping either that yankauer catheter or 8 French rubber catheter down a stoma to clear secretions from a post mouth / throat cancer patient gives you real quick religion on the subject.
Never been a smoker and haven’t chewed Copenhagen in I don’t know how long. Neither my doctor nor my dentist has ever said anything about nicotine pouches. Always been curious on that.

What research I’ve seen is the cancer if from all of the other crap in tobacco like arsenic. Of course there’s warnings on the nicotine pouches but it’s “may cause” with no research behind it.
Oh, and I’ve also seen studies that said lip and throat cancer rates in chewers vs non chewers is substantially similar and debunking all the warnings. Most of the time it feels like everybody here chews, yet I’ve never known anybody to have throat or mouth cancer.
Not trying to justify it or anything, I just think it’s an under studied and over PR’d situation. I like hard facts from the studies, not the spin that those with money to gain put on them.

The FDA career workers in labs serve under multiple administrations for their entire career…they report the results. Now if you want to complain about the policies of what is deemed safe or unsafe levels of chemicals and toxins sure that is fair but a government funded source that can be regulated is far and away the best method we have. Not perfect but the best we have to date.
University studies without funding to push them in a certain direction that simply show the data. Yes they will come to their own conclusion but the data is also there for independent review and if published in a notable scientific journal it has been peer reviewed for methods and accuracy.

The role of snus/snuff and other smokeless tobacco products has been well studied in the Indian subcontinent and it only makes sense that the risk or oral and oropharyngeal cancer will show a similar association in the US as the usage of smokeless tobacco products has exploded to a level similar to India.

Zyns are basically the patch of chewing. The problem is getting off them now.
That’s actually one of the benefits of the patches. As you step down you remove the nicotine, but you also remove the habit of smoking or popping in a mint or whatever.
The nicotine is just there.
Then it lets you mentally get rid of the habit.
I never smoked a lot back in my 20’s and 30’s…did a pack over a couple days for a few years there but just decided one day no more and quit cold turkey. Same with booze 3 yrs ago…cold turkey and never had another drop. Do the same with people…once I’m done it’s over. Its a mind set although the addictive properties of those vices do effect people differently for sure.

No way I would have gotten anywhere near doing 8 miles if I was still smoking.
I also increased my cardio a ton during quitting. Exercise helped a lot for me.

they quit cold turkey and there was always caramel nips around the house probably to help them fight the cravings….so get yourself some caramel nips and quit cold turkey.

I’ve tried sunflower seeds. That doesn’t work. I found some caffeine pouches that help. The headaches are a bitch though and make it hard to work.
