Vikings @ Titans
Another big road win for the Vikings yesterday, as they defeated the Titans 23-13. The win improved the Vikings record to 8-2 on the season, only one game behind the Lions in the NFC North and sitting firmly in playoff position. The Vikings passing offense had a much better showing than they had the past two weeks. After throwing five interceptions in the past two games, Sam Darnold did not throw one yesterday, although he was charged with a fumble on the botched pitch to Jones in the first quarter. Darnold was much smarter with the ball, throwing it away instead of risking a turnover, and that was the main reason for the offense’s improvement, in my opinion. The blocking seemed better yesterday as well. Maybe it’s just confirmation bias on my part, as I was as happy as anyone to see Risner in there for Ingram, who has been the O-line’s weakest link since being drafted. Overall, the offense looked improved. They still have work to do, but they looked much more in sync than they’ve looked the past couple weeks.
The defense put up another strong performance. With the exception of one blown coverage by Metellus that resulted in a 98-yard touchdown pass, the defense allowed very little yesterday. They confused the Titans O-line and Levis, kept them confused and off-balance for much of the game, and although they gave up some yards, they held the Titans to 13 points.
The Rest of the NFL
There were a couple of mild surprises yesterday. The Steelers beat the Ravens, and the Bears were a blocked FG away from beating the Pukers. As I type this, the Bengals are in the midst of a 4th quarter comeback against the Chargers. It looked bleak for the Bengals, but they hit a couple of big plays to Higgins and Chase and just tied it at 27.
Hey, the Vikings are 8-2 and seem to be coming out of their mid-season mini-funk. In the NFL, you want to get hot as the playoffs approach, so hopefully the Vikings really hit their stride at just the right time. You never know, I think they have a shot against any team in the league this year. Get in, get hot, and hope for the best. SKOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

34-10 final.
Maybe they have given up on the season.
3-7 now for the year.
I found out what MT did this weekend.
You can hardly see him.
MT is bigger than that.
They were talking about that on KFAN yesterday – it was a woman, and security let her trot about until she willingly surrendered.
Had it been a guy, 26 people would be out there pounding him 2 feet below the grassline.
When did Willam Shatner become so stupid.
Shatner- ‘I don’t understand why the Democrats lost the election’
Maher- ‘Because she wasn’t a great candidate’.
Shatner- ““Why isn’t she a great candidate?” “She combined several trends of thought here. Black, a woman,”
Maher- “That’s not a candidate,” “That’s identity politics.”
https://www.foxnews.com/media/bill-maher-tries-explain-baffled-william-shatner-why-harris-lost-election
Think Scottie beamed him up one to many times.
He is talking like he got brained by a beam.
He’s always been stupid?
Well not as Captain Kirk.
Oliver seems to be more of a target, has a ankle issue but hoping he can play against Bears. Other than that we seem to come out clean.
Looking at the pic up top, as the season goes on and they “open up the playbook” I can’t imagine the size of the rolodex Sam will have hanging off his wrist……..
Hopefully JJ is sitting in with KOC, QB Coach, OC and Sam during all possible meetings and planning sessions learning as much as he can while he can’t practice.
Seems a fair chance Cardinal game gets flexed for you out staters.
As long as the game vs. the Falcons doesn’t get flexed.
Why not? Have you already made your travel arrangements?
I thought the Falcons one would get flexed to Monday night, but I have seen no printed rumors concerning it…plenty of print on the Cardinal game getting moved.
Cardinals – they have a fan base of about three.
It would make the weekend plans and travel quite the mess, especially if moved to Monday night (which I have read somewhere that it’s rumored).
I don’t like to have the kiddo miss school, but if on Monday then we’d really have no other choice.
We are meeting our friends for the weekend for that game. We already have hotel rooms for Friday, Saturday and Sunday night…if they play Monday we will have to find an another hotel…and we can’t cancel Friday, so I too am hoping it doesn’t get moved.
Let’s petition the NFL. They most certainly will care about our plight more than their pocketbooks.
You one funny guy.
Like when they refused to call a facemask on Sam but still fined the guy. NFL is not about them, it’s the fans. @@
Guess Kirk is a little dinged up. Wonder if Penis gets a start.
Alright, that’s well done.
I see there is some discussion about moving the Cowboys vs Giants off of Thanksgiving Day….of course that will never happen but geeze what a shitty game.
Actually thoughtful of NFL. Gives us time to get away and have a long delightful Thanksgiving Dinner.
That game is locked in.
It’s inflexible.
???. Wonder what i read?
You were talking about the Cardinals game…which will likely be flexed.
to Monday night.
Won 3 in a row but not getting good vibes. Secondary and running game need to pick it up.
Yes and Yes.
I’d rather get through the bumps now and solidify our close-game experience than be revving on all cylinders too soon before the playoffs.
Agree. Stay healthy and play best football last two games going into the playoffs.
Speaking of Drunk Morons…..my coworker – the emotionally stable ex-army dude that I tell to please “carry” at work – read an article about a drink called a TurkeyDew…the whole premise of the article was that Mountain Dew was originally developed to act as a mix for Wild Turkey whiskey…..so of course we had to try it Friday afternoon….
We were underwhelmed. Which isn’t surprising since neither of us like bourbon much (Canadian Whiskey only)….
Now he has a nearly full bottle of Wild Turkey in his office we will have to try to find a way to finish. First World problem.
Buy a case of Mountain Dew.
If you drink enough TurkeyDew it will either grow on you or you will kill enough taste buds/brain cells that you won’t notice you don’t like it.
Yep.
Sometimes you just gotta drink it. After the first 2, it gets easier to finish the rest.
Solid advice fellows, I appreciate it.
In High School a friend of mine would buy a 2 liter bottle of Mt. Dew, drink 1/4 of it, then fill with Southern Comfort.
Then carry that around to the different parties, or even to class.
We should be in NFCW or NFCS.
I guess if Dallas can be in the East we can be in the West or South.
Speaking of cowpies, big tilt tonight. MaC, Zim and Jeruh, Should be fun.
Battle of Texas?
Appears Titans are over rated some, but Cowboys are trash at this point.
No love for Texans but if cowpies lose by 4 scores fine with me.
This goes out to all you lovers…
Shame as she is a such a talent. Now she is like DeNero to me. Don’t care to see or hear from them again. Wish I was a bigger person.
You mean like 6’6″ 270#?
Agree on her politics.
They all seem to get woke once they get enough money even when they got famous being anti work, here’s looking at you Howard Stern.
In the old days most were surely liberal, but keep their politics to themselves.
Yea, I like hearing some basketball player tell me how to vote.
Or signer or actor or ‘influencer’ or has been politician.
At this point, I automatically assume that any celebrity who goes hard woke in the press is being blackmailed by someone who has a video of them with a minor.
That is another reason why they just need to release the Epstein List.
Heard rumors that all Cackles endorsers were on P. Diddys guest list.
I prefer ‘Somewhere’ and this version with Babs and Miss Jackie.
I am on a lady singer kick today for some reason. Now I am Enya-ing.
You gay…….
Of course I like ABBA so….glass houses….
During my college years, the DJ at a bar would always dedicate “Dancing Queen” to me if he saw me come in.
I’m not sure how that started exactly. I think I was just BSing with him one slow night, and it became a joke going forward.
When you look like this, I can’t blame the DJ for thinking that.
Just sayin.
Those were the days!
I can honestly say I am never had a day like that.
Well that’s better than “Give me Give me Give me a Man after Midnight”
Sounds like Cackles wanted to live the good life for a few months.
She grew up in a middle class family, don’t you know.
The best reply to that picture that I saw was “giving the new gang member drugs to make sure he’s not an undercover cop.”
It didn’t load right the first time.
Team Trump scrapping by on McDee’s…
Yeah the caption I saw on that picture was ‘Make American Healthy Again’ can wait.
Surprised to see JFK Jr indulge as well.
JFK Jr is at the bottom of the ocean off of Martha’s Vineyard.
The memes’ for RFK Jr is what Bow is referencing above.
It looks like Jr is faking liking what he doesn’t want to eat.
I went to college with JFK jr. A nice guy. His girlfriend walked in on me in the shower and we ended up showering together my freshman year. True story…
You were conserving water before it was cool!
Maybe it was a ‘pool shower’ where people shower with the bathing suits on?
My bad.
Difficult to keep all of those Kennadys straight.
And drinking a coke too. Wonder how much of this is staged and if Elon and RFK jr are really eating.
Still, great PR
With all the money those people have and they wanted that crap. DT was probably the only one that ate it, just a photo op for the rest of them.
McDonalds is crap?
Miscellaneous “line” item not mentioned:
I heard she mostly a drunk.
” a drunk” I didn’t give her that much credit.
A ‘drunk moron’ is more accurate yes.
Can you imagine giving more money to Cackles after the way she blew thru all that money?
I guess the DNC is laying off people too.
Ya think?????
They were told that they would be paid thru the end of the year.
Now it is ‘you will have health insurance thru the end of the year.
Totally the same thing.
So the DNC is denying healthcare coverage because they are just like evil conservatives?
No they will cover them until the end of the year just ‘deny’ then any pay.
Well yeah.
At the end of the year, they will deny them access to healthcare those big meanies….
Well they will be unemployed since the campaign is over, that happens when you lose your job.
It’s still mean.
Ended her campaign 20 million in debt, but she was supposedly going to fix the economy.
Paying millions for celeb endorsement. How that work for you word salad?
It’s the only way she could get the crowds and the vibes…..
I have not seen the play on JA so I have no opinion.
‘Quarterback Sam Darnold threw a pass to Jordan Addison in the end zone. Titans safety Mike Browned jarred the ball loose via a clean-and-legal hit by definition of the rule book.’
https://titansized.com/titans-jeffery-simmons-calls-out-officials-after-brutal-loss-to-vikings-01jcy4kmv50y
In slo mo it is a legal hit. In real time, which is what the refs are going by, it looked like a roughing the passer call. Like I had said before. had the defender not jumped like he was trying to take JAs head off, or made a play on the ball, it would not have been called. A lot of that call is on the defender for the way he played the ball.
Addison was the passer?
Sorry, meant unnecessary roughness. I’m an idiot, I know.
‘I’m an idiot’
Welcome to the club.
Wonder how we’d feel if the call was on Harrison Smith?
good point. I thought it was borderline. The defender led with the helmet (no no number 1) and hit him in the upper center chest, then the helmet proceeded to move upward and nail Addison in the chin (no no number 2). the force of the helmet to the chin snapped Addison’s head back ( no no number 3)
9 out of 10 times that is going to get flagged.
i agree….
I know how we would feel, we got to witness it last year, but Smith was ejected for, what I believe was less of a hit.
Here is the play I was referring to. Harrison goes low like he should and the receiver lowers his head at the same time.
I guess it was earlier than I thought, Zim was still coach.
Believe we would be pissed.
Now my issue with play is different. I believe technically the hit was to the chest and probably legal. But at the same time, Addison was a defenseless receiver and the hit was not necessary to break up the pass.
I agree 100% and if he hadn’t left his feet, he wouldn’t have been called at all. It just looked egregious in real time.
Danny Dimes gets double demoted.
Now #3 on the depth chart.
Wow, that’s a kick in the balls.
And to think he beat us at home during the playoffs….pathetic.
Yeah,
DonaShell and the Vikings get a large part of the blame/credit for him getting that huge contract.
I had repressed that memory. Now it is back. I expect comfort.
I was there
Yeah, you bought my tickets
Ouch. He can attribute his entire contract to Ed Donatelle
Poor Daniel.

Can’t risk him having to go on the field as the backup and getting hurt.
so true. I believe Giants have an out clause on the contract after this year “as long as Jones is not hurt”
Could we see Jones in purple next season on a 1 year deal?
Depending in JJs health/development I can see a vet rental.
Not sure what Mullins has left on his deal.
Maybe Kirko returns.
Falcon’s site is already full of people who want to just go with Penix.
Not unless he is cut and comes back on the cheap.
$$ was the biggest issue with KC.
Yep.
They were saying cut him and eat the dead cap.
Kirko is the dead cap king.
If the Falcons cut Kirko, his most likely landing spot would be New York Giants.
And Penix has, what, 4 total pass attempts?
Fans are fans. The rookie unproven QB is always the next Joe Montana.
Or the 1st JJ McCarthy.
Bingo. The standard to which all will be compared some day.
At this point, let’s hope he doesn’t have Joe Namath knees.
Arm of Favre, Legs of Vick and gray matter of Brady.
He needs two arms. But Brady sure does have good taste in women – rich ones too.
For all of you who told me to start Hebert over Nix..
Actually it didn’t matter much Nix had 30, Hebert 23 and I won my fantasy game anyway.
You’re welcome.
You didn’t pay for our services, so you should be grateful.
I know, the old “You get what you pay for”….
Well, we didn’t ‘all ‘tell you to go with Herbert.
I did suggest Herbert. I also told you I am terrible at Fantasy Football.
Fishing Junior destroyed me in FF this week.
I am firmly planted in last place.
He got almost 50 from Taysom Hill. Crazy, he just picked him up a couple days ago.
Yeah, I had him as my backup TE, but when he and Hock were both hurt, I dropped Hill.
@I make brilliant decisions@
we actually give a little trophy out to the smallest sale of the day here at my work.
it’s sitting on my desk currently.
You sold a AAA battery?
And the paperwork took all day.
well, it was actually a camshaft lifter… more the side of a D battery
Can we rejoice in the fact that Ingram finally did not play?
I will be curious to see how Risner graded out via PFF.
Let’s be a little patient – it was his first ever start at right guard.
He admitted it was a really big adjustment – he will get better.
I think the grades will show he was average to above average on passing plays and he was below average on run blocking.
BUT YES!!! Its awesome not to have a traffic cone at right guard.
I’m curious to see as well. I thought the O line looked better, it’ll be interesting to see if the grades reflect that.
Does the PFF even matter? As you said, better than a traffic cone is a plus.
It’s always good to compare the objective with the subjective, see if they agree.
That’s true, I just don’t put much stock in PFF.
Yeah, take their grades with a grain of salt. It’s just another evaluation tool
You have to give him a couple/few games to get up to speed.
We gave Ingram 2 years.
Ingram was just showing no signs of improvement
Hopefully Risner will get better as he gets more time
Yep. He might have improved from his rookie year.
But he hasn’t improved to be called the “starter”.
Whenever there’s a blocking disaster, 90% chance it’s either Ingram or Bradbury. Those positions need to be addressed at some point.
I’m glad to see Risner out there. I wonder if they’ll give Jurgens a shot at center.
It’s too bad we don’t get to see practice, it would be nice to get a better look at some of the backups.
Ingram is graded at 54, it was Risner’s first start, I’d keep him in.
Better on Pass plays than run plays.
Considering the monsters that had on IDL think he did an excellent job.
Context is key.
That grade will probably be different in a day or two. Their early grades are sometimes quite a bit different than their revised grades.
It was one game. The very first game he has ever played at RG. Ingram had a lot more than one game to (dis)prove himself.
Remember, The Titan D is pretty good
They are.
And borderline dirty.
Yes, yes I can.
Running game was bad yesterday…..connected? Or just a good defensive front for the Titans?
Both, imo.
I vote yes.
the only thing i hated about yesterday was flipping the game on, watching 2 minutes, and then getting a nasty migraine and had to go sleep it off and missed the whole game
Migraines…I am not a sufferer but my wife is….
How frequently do you get them? What preventive mediations have you tried?
i don’t get them TOO often, maybe once every 2 months or so.
My dr has suggested i take a medication, but i’m not really a fan of taking a daily medication for something that happens fairly rarely..
You could consider getting allergy tests done, maybe they can determine the cause
I agree once every two months is probably just something you have to live with. Although Imitrex might be a medicine you could look into for mitigating your migraine once you get one. They take about 45 minutes to work.
My wife was getting several a month, after several different medications they found a monthly shot that works for her – she is down to maybe one a month now and when they to occur they are less severe – it has been life changing….
Modern pharmaceuticals are awesome.
I’ve had one migraine in my life and it was miserable. The only solution was to sleep it off.
yeah, sleep is the only thing that really alleviates mine.
my wife gets them more than me and hers can last days. mine usually last a couple hours. but it’s intense when it happens.
Sorry Freeze. Migraines are terrible. Feels like my eyeballs are on fire when I get those.
Only thing that works for me is dark and quiet. Eyes closed, relaxing music, and time.
Weed gummies also help, but that could just be me.
yep, as soon as i felt it coming on, i went and laid down. sleep is the only thing that helps me.
That stinks. My sister-in-law got really bad migraines, she found out it was from cheese. She stopped eating cheese, and she doesn’t get migraines. If she accidentally eats cheese, she’ll get a migraine. She got them really bad where she would end up in the hospital and everything.
Migraines suck. Better today?
yep, i still have that “hungover” feeling from the migraine, but much much better
Good
I get them too Freeze. Was really bad when I was young. Started with a buzz in my jaw and within an hour I’m basically blind.
It’s one of the reasons I started smoking weed – instant relief from the pressure/pain.
I get them less frequently now (been 8 months or better) when I do I usually take a bong hit or two and take some Excedrin Migraine and try and find a cool, dark place to sleep.
i don’t have the weed option since we work with heavy machinery here, and we get tested all the time…
but yes cool dark place to sleep is the key for me
CBD might work.
So much negativity, it must be Monday Morning.
We are 8-2, who had that on their bingo card to start the year.
It is a rebuilding year with a $10M retread and a rookie QB (injured).
Winning on the road in the NFL is hard.
We are playing with house money this year.
I am going to enjoy the ride as long as it lasts.
We are blessed and can’t seem to embrace it.
Reading the comments this morning and I thought we had lost yesterday.
After my 1st cup of coffee I remembered we had won, on the road against a good defensive front.
Yea, it’s a long season and you don’t always bring your A game. But good teams still win these games like we have the last three weeks. Rather save our A games for the good teams down at the end.
Next week will be interesting.
A very good Defense with a weak offense, seems like we have played against teams like that all year.
Plus it is a Divisional game, on the road against a wounded Bores team.
Wounded bears are dangerous.
Very.
Us losing to the Cry Baby would be ugly.
But so very, very Viking.
Likely will happen.
#nojinx
Flo’s defense will drive William’s crazy. He doesn’t read defense’s well against vanilla one’s – he’s not seem anything like he’s about to get.
I figure Cry Baby and the Bores are on par with Levis and the Titans offense.
Their Defense is better though. I figure that means our margin of error is smaller.
So seems like we need to eliminate as many of those errors as possible.
If it happens to be, 12 -7 will work.
You mean the same defense that was torched by Levis on big plays that were called back because of penalties?
Or wouldn’t have happened if they didn’t commit a penalty?
Most penalties are subjective.
One week they call them.
The next week they don’t.
Vikings got a lot of questionable calls that helped them significantly.
If we were TN this morning, we wouldn’t be here discussing our players for committing dumb penalties.
Yep – same defense. Seems to give younger QB’s problems – Stroud, Purdy for example and I wouldn’t put Williams in their category experience wise.
Oh, do you think it won’t?
Levis is a young QB.
He torched the Vikings yesterday.
On paper, you are correct.
But I live in Vikings history where nothing is a given.
Well since you called the election correctly, I’ll give heavy weight to your take.
I don’t think he torched us.
The 98 yard TD was 1/3 of his passing yards – and a bad play by Bynum. Was a good throw. In practice.
He had another nice back shoulder/hip throw to convert on 3rd down (Murphy PI call on that one)
Aside from that he wasn’t great – was off target and wide throwing across the middle. The pick to Hitman was terrible. A couple of the sacks felt like coverage sacks to me.
Just my two cents
Our defense is definitely overrated IMO.
Never know what will happen when you play the game on a hay field that is Soldier Field.
Exactly….
Live look at Soldier Fields playing surface.
Goal number one this weekend is no major injuries.
And all the remaining games.
Flores should be able to destroy Caleb Williams.
I figured he would destroy Levis, too. I know the 99 yarder skewed the stats, but still thought there were WRs open in our zones.
Yeah, that’s true. They didn’t blitz much yesterday, it seems they were getting pressure with 4. I thought they would force more turnovers.
SCMF to Skoloholics:
“Your Viking fandom is showing.”
It’s ok. I would rather there be some complaining after a loss than to be bewailing a loss. It doesn’t matter how good you are, there is always room for improvement. 8-2 is looking good however. If you would have told me that 3 months ago, I would have been calling the authorities to lock you up before you went on a rampage and hurt people. Can we beat Detroit? Of course. Conference games can be unpredictable since the teams know each other so well. However, with the team that the Lions have this year, if we have to play them 3 times, I expect the best we will do is beat them 1 out of 3. There is no way around the fact that they are an exceptional team this year.
Might as well save that 1 for the playoffs then.
No beat them in the last game to get homefield throughout the playoffs, then hope to hell they lose on the road to someone else during the playoffs.
I don’t think we will beat them at Detroit – but anything is possible.
Goff would probably have to go down to level the playing field. He has really been kicking arse, and good for him. I remember he got a lot of flak for being a QB that could only function if McVay was feeding him directions via helmet radio.
Now he is tearing it up.
Agreed. Goff seems like a good guy. And he is playing very well.
The Swifties lost yesterday. Maybe this is the Lions year?
Goff has a superhot girlfriend, too. Make Taylor Swift look like a tomboy beanpole.
Like they say, the qb always gets the hottest girl.
How do you credit Darnold with the “fumble” on the pitch, there? It was 100% Jones’ fault. The NFL is infuriatingly stupid.
Also, can we not do as many pitches? I was talking to my son last week that we need to stop those because they are so risky (we already had a fumble on one of those earlier in the year).
I would go 85/15 Jones’ Fault.
Can Sam Darnold please get a facemask penalty once? Another one missed.
I do not think we should be crying about the officials after that game.
Correct.
That might have been pay back for 5 years worth of BS calls on the Vikings.
Yeah, that one single game really makes up for the 47 bad ones.
One of the very few times in history this can be said.
Zactly, now I know what it feels like to be a Packers/Cowboys fan.
How did Nailor not catch that pass?
I would say which one, but I will go with yes, how does he not catch pretty much every ball that was thrown in his direction.
the damn uniform numbers on his chest got in the way.
If you think about it, the Nailor drop and the Metallus “brain-fart” kept the game from being a blowout. 2 plays……
Ha!
Yep
I mean, he’s not Irv Smith, but come on. That’s literally your main job. haha
At 8-2, we are all pleasantly surprised, but is this team really one of the top NFC teams?
The D is outstanding, fun to watch, and reminiscent of the old Purple People Eaters. But the breakdowns in coverage that seem to happen 2-3 times a game can flip a game outcome.
The O is mediocre, at best. Now we know TN has a very solid D, but I have 3 big concerns with our offense;
1. Will we be able to run the ball successfully. we gotta be able to churn out a few late game, long drives and finish with points. With no Darrisaw, it will be tough
2. Play calling. I still don’t trust it. And we can’t seem to run a successful screen when needed (see #1 above). I saw a bit more reliance on the short passing game yesterday, which was nice
3. I love him, great story, but, he is a mediocre starter at best. Flashes of ballsy brilliance, can extend plays with his feet, but, expect 4-5 mental breakdowns a game. He is
also not a real accurate thrower.
But hey, at 8-2, we are playing with house money. I can’t see us beating Detroit, they are playing great ball. Eagles have also gotton things figured out. I would love to see us sweep the Bears and FTP, which should give us second in the North.
A fun next two months though!
Skol
Agree with all points.
Don’t forget the NFL is rigged. Add that to your list of us not winning anything this year.
It is officially an Entertainment Program.
So as rigged as any ‘Reality Show’.
Think we are one of the top NFL teams.
Who’s the best right now in NFC – the Lions. Well, we more than held our own against them.
Now, what’s really important in my opinion, is to stay healthy and be playing good football the last two or three weeks of the season going into the playoffs. Then it’s game on.
Yeah, we are a second-tier team. We will see if we can get one playoff win out of the season. I always looked at this as a reboot year, so in that respect, we are doing better than expected. I’m just having fun with it and hope when we do get knocked out it isn’t a 41-0 kind of deal.
But I should add, every team is a second-tier team to Detroit currently.
Agree. Detroit is the class of the NFC, and it is a decent drop off.
The Vikings playing the Lions close does show that this team can compete with anyone.
The Detroit dismantling of the Jax team the Vikings barely beat last week, shows the gap. Lions are currently better. Anything can happen though.
2026 (If JJ is alive) and this team should contend.
This season is fun, and next year should also be fun.
Lions SHOULD have lost to the Texans, but got a few favorable calls and non-calls to help them crawl back in the game. Also, Stroud and the Texans head coach are overrated.
Lions were also bailed out by the refs vs Arizona, Cards could have won that game. Kitties are good, but they are getting more than their fair share of ref help this season.
I disagree with this statement, you are not giving our Offensive enough credit.
I would say we are 100 percent mediocre – drop the “at best” part.
Shout out to the refs….thanks for the win! (1st time in Vikings history?)
Seriously, though. We get screwed out of 4-5 wins per year I would say, but we got some help in this one. I am more than willing to admit when calls go our way, it just doesn’t happen very often. People say “everybody thinks their team gets screwed”. Well then, why am I admitting we finally got some help? This is one of the only games I can remember that we actually got some favorable bad calls (though there was that missed facemask AGAIN).
Agree completely. It actually feels weird to say the refs helped us win. That’s how rare it is.
True. We can admit it, but teams that are used to it every week *coughPackerscough* will never admit it. And I mean NEVER – it’s just because they’re so great and “good teams find a way to win”.
If you ask them, they get jobbed by the refs every week. I tell them there are stats to back it up. That’s when they try to end the convo.
Hilariously out of line with reality. But that’s how it goes… nobody cares if there’s cheating as long as you’re on the winning side (see Democrats).
Lol true
I’m not even sure yesterday’s game happened. It seemed kind of bland.
How could you not be entertained? A missed XP, I love those. Oh, and if the Titans were lined up to try and convert on 3rd and 97, the defense allowed it. Sweetness. That’s how you win SBs.
Did look like a beautiful day in Nashville. Kfey and the many other purple in attendance had the quintessential experience.
I think I missed the XP. I stopped watching to flip the mattress on ma’s bed at one point. She got a new adjustable bed. That thing is sweet. It even has a massage feature. She is living in 2050!
Happy Victory Monday Skolos,
Had a funny back and forth with my brother, who is a Cowboys fan. He was claiming that the refs won us the game yesterday.
Did we get some favorable calls yesterday, yes/no. As I told him, most of the calls that were made allowed the Titans to make the plays they did. i.e. the illegal formation that took away the Titans TD, would more than likely been a sack or at the minimum rushed Levis, had the Tackle been lined up where he was supposed to be. Besides that, the right tackle for the Titans was getting an early start on almost every play.
The late hit called on the Vikings was iffy at best, it looked like the runner was still in bounds when we hit him. If he wasn’t in bounds he was trying to stay in bounds.
Refs didn’t win the game, our players and team are just better than theirs. Now, the refs didn’t do them any favors.
The refs were definitely on our side yesterday. I believe we got 7 first downs via penalty. Two calls against the defender covering Jefferson were weak as my biceps.
Very critical plays and moments.
But were they penalties? I believe all but the roughing the passer in the end zone were legit penalties. As I stated in yesterdays thread, in real time the play in the endzone looked like a penalty. In slomo it did not, that is on the defender lunging towards the head of the receiver. If he stays on the ground and hits him in the bread basket, that flag does not get thrown.
I agree that was the only really “bad” call that I saw. Perhaps the defender can use their arms/hands on that too, instead of Sendejo-missiling into their chest.
This is a very rare case – one of the only games I can remember where we got some bad call help from the refs. 98% of the time the other direction.

Vikings win! What a great day.
I think the Bears are gonna be tough this week. Should have won yesterday.
FTP Auto Rec.
I agree, the Bears will be very motivated, and we will likely be playing from behind all game.
It’s almost always hard to beat the Bears in Beirut, they’re tough at home.
