He didn’t have a choice. His only options were to play for the Jets or not play. They have screwed him around over and over. If I were in his shoes I’d be doing whatever it took to get out of there. He’ll have to sign a backup deal somewhere, but somebody will sign him and that’s the best he could hope for even if he goes ahead and plays.

Would like to see more of Hall as well. The running aspect is very important for our offense’s success I think. Kirk’s throwing accuracy and talent made up for it in many ways, but Mullens’ won’t.

He’s good enough to win a title. Agree he’s not the best they’ve ever had but he’ll be good enough to win it all imo
He’s not good enough to carry a team to a championship, but good enough if the team plays will in the other two phases. He’s also not going to torpedo the team and be the reason they lost.
McCarthy did not impress me at all.
In fact, he reminded me too much of a QB I already do not like.

I think he’s got all the tools necessary. Arm talent in both strength and accuracy. Good size, mobile and can play in a pro system immediately.
McCarthy was fine against Iowa, made the plays available and really there was no reason to throw the ball, Iowa can’t score. Where he played poorly was against Maryland, threw a bad pick in the RZ. He has great efficiency metrics, 74%, ypa of 9, 5:1 TD to pick ratio. Also can run the ball. Michigan has been so good defensively and in the run game they haven’t really asked him to carry them so far this season. That obviously changes in the playoffs, hopefully he learned something from last year, where he threw two pick sixes against TCU.

If that were the case, than yes it would have been a great concert. But, she would go off stage, which took about 5 minutes between songs.
I’ve seen Billy Idol twice, both times at the legendary Buffalo Chip during the Sturgis bike rally. He put on an amazing show but changed clothes multiple times as well but it was more because the guys was jumping dancing, in some kind of motion the entire time, dude was pure energy which is impressive at his age then.
Vikings Twitter are quoting anonymous “insiders” that claim the front office wants some Jaren Hall while KOC is going to run Dobbs out again.
Hints that it’s Dobbs keep trickling out. So many that either the Vikings are putting it out there as a smoke screen or it’s legit.
Dobbs and Mullens are very different QBs. So it would make sense you wouldn’t want the Raiders to prep for whichever you bring out.

Maybe Dobbs, maybe Mullens, Maybe Hall. Just reading KOCs comments and taking them at face value, they want the person best at delivering the ball to JJ. I don’t think that’s Dobbs, it might be Hall, but the most proven, established player that understands the playbook best and has the most experience in the offense at that position is Mullens. I think if Dobbs starts he on an incredibly short leash. Personally I would bench him and don’t care if its Mullens or Hall.
If I had to bet, I would still say Mullens.
I think the Dobbs news getting out out there is to mess with the Raiders. It would be smart to keep them guessing.

KOC as a HC has been very good, I have also criticized his play calling and think he needs to focus more on game management and decision making.
Dobbs was a lot of fun for a couple of games, but that train has likely sailed as a viable option. I don’t mind them using one of the other options.

Looking at the schedule, I’d say Vikings are screwed. Packers will relatively easily displace them for a wild card.

An unpopular opinion, but I read an article about Bud Grant, and it discussed his outlook on the superbowl. He thought it was a gimicky game that no one should care about, much like todays probowl. Had he taken the SB seriously we may have had 4 trophies.
I think that was accurate for the first loss. It was not yet called a superbowl, they had just won the NFL Championship. The AFL was still considered sub-par league.
The rest, he tried to win (imo).
Tried so hard that the last loss VS the Raiders, they installed a completely new offense in the time leading up to it.

KOC might not suck, but he lost the last two (very winnable) games by going into prevent mode on defense and not being aggressive enough on offense, allegedly.
I still maintain that they should have hired Harbaugh.
KOC call the defense, that is on Flores, who does not suck but I don’t like the late game prevent either, stay aggressive, I’d rather see the D get beaten quickly rather than slowly and methodically.
KOC as HC might be the one ordering Flores to stop what has been working and going into prevent mode “to secure the win”.
We won’t find out I guess, but for me it’s on the HC, he’s ultimately responsible for his teams’ overall performance, including the units he does not work with directly.
KOC seems to be a good motivator and his playcalling has been very good at times, but there certainly is much room for improvement in many areas.
I highly doubt KOC is dictating anything to Flores, who would probably tell KOC to fuck off if he did.

Yeah that couch signing was a real great investment. Last draft looks ok so far, not sure where you’re getting 3 starters, but Addison looks good, Pace hasn’t been a dumpster fire but doesn’t stand out either way, which is good in a way but you’d like him to make more significant plays.
Last years draft still sucks, Ingram still sucks because he can’t pass block and strip sacks his QB, Evans is meh, Booth still sucks and Cine Behind 5 other safeties including the monsters Theo Jackson and Jay Ward, speaking of which, Ward is directly responsible for gifting other teams 6 point because he’s dumb.
Kwesi not great overall so far, not terrible either. the Hock trade was his best move, the draft trade with Detroit by far the worst, most FA have been meh or a complete waste. Drafts mixed so far but too early to really judge. Its what he decides to do at the QB position that will define his tenure as GM of MN.
Yup, this. Queasy’s drafts, although too early to judge, look pretty weak so far all things considered, his propensity to hire injury prone players to “prove it” contracts seems to bite him in the ass if we look at the Couch (Risner is OK, and playing, so far).
What he and KOC will do at QB next offseason will decide their fate, and the team’s fate for the foreseeable future. I hope they’ll get it right…

Sometimes it’s what you don’t do, that shows you’re a good GM. Not signing Kendricks, Cook and Thielen, was a good choice. Keeping Smith on a restructured deal was a good move. Not signing Cousins to a longer contract is looking great right now.

I think Cine is the biggest bust recently, and you are correct, other picks have done well.
The 3 starters are Pace, Blackmon and Addison.
Technically blackmon is CB 3, but he’s played close to half the defensive snaps.
Addison played 82%, and Pace has played 58%.
They might be starters due to injury, but whatever.
They are seeing a lot of snaps.
Blackmon has played 40% of snaps and is sorta CB 3, they play 3 safeties instead of him most of the time and he’s been sharing CB3 reps with Booth. Calling him a starter is a stretch.
IDK, Rams are resurgent as well and will easily win 9 games, maybe 10 if SF doesn’t have anything to play for the last week.
I’ve basically forgotten the Rams still exist. I don’t think I’ve seen a single second of footage of them this year.
They’ve gotten hot and are back in it. Losing to a bad Bears team has completely derailed the season.
I doubt 3-2 makes it into the playoffs….maybe with some fancy tie breakers.

A loss to Detroit plus a loss to either the Raiders or Bengals and you might sneak in at 3-2.
Rams have @Balt and @SF to end the season, they should and likely go 3-2, though with their D and the way Stafford has been lately I could see them winning one in Balt.
That was an extremely costly loss, not quite unexpected, buy the way the Vikes lost that game irks many people IMHO.
Might have cost the team the playoffs, they could have been one of the very few teams to make the playoffs after an 0-3 start, buy they obviously are pissing this opportunity down their leg.

Both teams are going to be salty about missing the playoff, but this is still a fantastic matchup, even if Jordan Travis is unable to play. Florida State’s defense has been incredible over the past two weeks and Georgia is the first team to ever fall from No. 1 to outside the playoffs over conference championship weekend.
Six deserving teams, but IMO the committee looked at the fact FSU would get curb stomped with the crap QBs they have right now, that’s the correct decision to make. Georgia not getting in… well they only have themselves to blame, don’t lose to Bama, that simple. The matchups don’t make sense to me though, I’d have Michigan 1, Bama 2, Texas 3, and Washington 4, honestly though if it were based on truly the best teams I think it should be Georgia in over Washington, the PAC 12 is barely even a power 5 conference anymore.

Minnesota is the only sub-.500 team in a bowl game thanks to its Academic Progress Rate. The Gophers will play without QB Athan Kaliakmanis after he entered the transfer portal. Minnesota averages just 303 yards a game and gives up six yards a play. Bowling Green won five of its last six to get bowl eligible and its only loss in that span came to Toledo as the Rockets got a 59-yard TD to go ahead with 1:45 to go.
