Nebraska native, Husker Football legend and former Minnesota Vikings player and coach (and the godfather of the Tampa 2) Monte Kiffin dead at 84.
RIP
Over an hour late for Briben.
Does it really take that long to change a diaper?
Not a good look for his “Big Boy” presser.
I guess that didn’t long for good old joe to make a fool of himself.
Biden mistakenly refers to Zelenskyy as Russian President Vladimir Putin
‘He is as sharpe as he as ever been’.
Deep and cheap fakes.
At least 3 weeks ago they were.
It’s comical.
We have cackles, no worries.
And here comes the second great orator of the Administration – Kamala.
Word salad. The stupid shit that comes out of her mouth. Then dementia joe.
This is so strange it’s funny.
Can our President actually do a press conference.
Little like wondering if your heart surgeon can hold a scapel.
Screw the big stuff.
Pure power struggle, even at expense of country. I predict sniffer gets 300 million of the popular vote.
Think he’s cooked – cat’s out of the bag. Christ, stuff is coming out he has to have the questions before ‘ at a staff meeting.’ Everything is staged.
Sniffer news conference. Look for him on juice with a tan and botox, and teleprompter.
I am waiting for the complete meltdown, or heart attack, while on TV.
Won’t ‘juice’ make him pooping his pants that much more likely??
I guess it ‘depends’.
Teleprompter is suppose to be a ‘NO’ as this is a ‘Big Boy’ news conference.
I saw what you did there. 6:30 EDT? Past 4. They replay this from noon?
Na. The juice more likely to cause constipation.
‘Constipation’?
Not if it is ‘fruit juice’.
Strange he is starting to look a little ‘orange.’ Wonder if there will be any planted questions.
So illegals coming in. Getting issued drivers licenses, work permits, health care and some social security cards. They treat illegals better than citizens or veterans. If this efing clown gets back in it will be anarchy.

Oh yeah, FTP.
Your Government at work:
In a report detailing why the special counsel would not seek to charge Biden over his handling of classified documents, they claimed any jury would likely see Biden as an “elderly man with a poor memory.”
We’re you been – fighting bad guys and surpressing evil?
Yeah, lots going on around the world. Plate is full.
How are you?
I’m good just living the life of a sinless retired rock n roll star.
Sounds good. Might have to join you!
oxymoron.
Because I know you all care….Shot a 90 today.
Lousy rotten 48 on the front and that
might not have beenprobably wasn’t very accurate.42 on the back, that was pretty accurate – 5 pars, 2 doubles and 2 bogies…
The only inaccurate score on the back 9 was I took a 5 on a par 3 after I pull hooked my 4 iron into the side of house about 40 yards off the fairway – hit that son of a bitch HARD, just wrote down a 5 and got the hell out of there…thank goodness I didn’t hit a window.
I suspect that the owner of that house is used to being pelted periodically by golf balls living that close to the course.
eh…it takes a pretty shitty shot to hit it. It is only a par 3 and he is well back,
‘it takes a pretty shitty shot to hit it.’
but you managed it??
Drilled that bastard – it was a super sonic projectile going sideways when it hit that house…..may have yanked the front shoulder out and turned the wrists through just a wee bit early.
I played 9 holes at the end of the day yesterday. First time I’ve played in months. Played with two very nice older guys, and we all made our excuses on the first tee, for how badly we expected to play. I didn’t hit any warm up balls or anything, just went to the tee “cold”. After the other two guys hit decent drives, I hit a really good shot down the right side with a draw that rolled out to about 200 yards in the middle of the fairway. From 160 out I hit a seven wood to 15 feet and made the putt for birdie. The guys were ribbing me about sand-bagging etc. Then went double, bogey, bogey, double, double, bogey, bogey, par. Nice first and last holes.
‘Then went double, bogey, bogey, double, double, bogey, bogey, par’
Seems like you went overboard to prove that you were not ‘sand-bagging’.
Laughing, I actually hit the ball pretty good. Just ended up in some bad lies, and putted like a dog.
Still a 45, not bad. No practice, no warm up – pretty good actually.
I’ll take it. Didn’t kill or maim anyone on the course, so it was a successful day!
Or hit a house.
Not terrible.
If your goal is to break 90, I’m sure you are not happy with it.
Reports keep twisting in the wind out there.
The Biden campaign is ‘quietly testing’ Vice President Kamala Harris’ viability against Donald Trump in a head-to-head survey of voters.
Biden advisers are ‘Discussing how to convince him to step aside.
Let there be chaos.
With his ego doubt he will step aside graciously. Until such time as he reaches a point where he has no other choice. Publicly nice, behind the scene kicking and screaming.
I saw a Yahoo headline (I know, I know) that said something along the lines that the Democrats are going public with their concern that a GOP landslide would cause the end of US democracy.
Sounds right.
Stop democracy to save democracy.
In other words Democracy will end no matter what we do, according to each side. I’m so confused (not really).
i just got an email from Xcel Energy letting me know that tomorrow is an “Energy Action Day”….
just asking me to do my part in helping conserve energy by increasing my thermostat 2-4 degrees for a few hours…
i wonder if they are asking all electric vehicle owners to not charge their vehicles between a certain time as well?
I’ve encouraged my wife to help out by not wearing any clothing.
That is what I will be doing this weekend. I will be watching electricity load and trying to shave off some peak to save money.
That is mostly what it is about. If power companies have to buy beyond capacity on peak days, they have to buy at open market prices, which are quite a bit higher.
There are lots of fun ways to shave peak. Water heater control is the easiest. Electric water heaters hold heat pretty well, so power companies can basically shut them off via remote control all day. Then they can recharge at night when the peak is not happening. No fuss, no muss. Most people in the program never even notice.
I have the water heater controller. I get a credit on my electric bill every month and the electric company can turn off the water heater when they need to. In the 15 years or so that I’ve had that set up, I think there was only one time when I noticed that we didn’t have any hot water.
Yep, it is a pretty good deal. We sell the water heaters too for about half price, which includes installation if people go on the program.
Then we get electric sales, too. Everyone wins!
All about not going above base load on the electrical grid. Peak demand they have to find a source of extra energy somewhere. Electricity travels at the speed of light, it’s not somehow stored in the grid.
I read that the Snake River hydro plants have been idled down to one turbine only…to increase flows for recreation and fish, plus to increase fish survivability. Old turbines fish had about a 90% survival rate, the newer turbines have a higher 96-98% survival rate, but as of now fish survival takes priority over hydroelectric on the Snake.
Fish are more important than people.
Actually, to be fair to the administration, the dams were originally put in place for flood control, and were built with fish ladders. Hydroelectric was added later. So if one were an elected official you’d be damned if you do, damned if you don’t. But on the Snake, fish and flows are king.
I never thought about fish in those things. Interesting.
I have been to Garrison Dam to see how that worked.
If I got an email like that, I would decrease my temperature by 2-4 degrees, take a blazing hot shower and do laundry.
I get monthly emails from the co-op that my energy usage is higher than my neighbors.
Instead of thanking me for sending them more money, they are telling me to adjust my thermostat.
No. I prefer to be comfortable.
AMEN !!
Besides someone at your co-op being a prick, they are being stupid when they send out those kinds of e-mails. What if you are retired or work from home all week and your neighbors are gone most of the day? Or what about a household that has 6+ people and the neighbor that is single? Obviously there are good reasons why each household’s energy use varies.
Wife and I both work from home, so the house needs to be a comfortable temp.
Full walkout rambler, when all the neighboring houses are split level or multi level. I think I am going to use more electricity for AC.
In the winter, our gas stove with a thermostat keeps the gas bill lower that when we just use the central heat. But in the summer, I want AC, dammit.
We get that all the time from our public utilities. I’m sure the fact we home school and have 9 people living at our house has nothing to do with it.
What co-op is that?
Dakota Electric
Sounds like a stripper name
I know of a lady named “Summer Darling” that works at a local car dealership….I have often wondered if her parents were hippies.
Build nuclear. It is a clean energy.
^this^
I’d love if they came up with a cluster of 10 smaller nuclear plants and put it in my back yard, sorta.
Just found two wood ticks on me. Not embedded. Just crawling around.
Had to go in the bathroom and strip off all my clothes to a spot check. Found another one crawling on the inside leg of my pants.
Sounds like the making of a country song.
One advantage of the hot dry weather is the ticks out here are gone. Maybe the MFing grasshoppers ate them.
No clue who that is, but she is an attractive woman to me.
Today Escrow closes on the SoCal house.
Was told yesterday that the account was ‘fully funded’.
Have a tab opened to watch for the wire transfer deposit hitting my credit union.
Then I can use a portion of those funds to payoff the mortgage here.
No mortgage and no car payments will be a beautiful thing.
#nojinx
I only have a mortgage payment.
In a couple of years, I might be with you.
Going from 2 mortgages to none will be very nice.
We eliminated the car payments a few years ago.
We were comfortable before and now will be even more so.
Good to hear.
sounds like you will have some extra cash laying around….
Going to need some investments no doubt.
That is on our list, ‘get financial advisor’.
I know enough to know what I don’t know.
Be ware of accumulating too much – wealth or tax on assets is coming.
Take from rich give to poor.
I figure once my 92 year old mother passes and I inherit 1/4 of her Santa Barbara house then ‘1 time gifts’ to kids/nephews/nieces to pay off student loans will be in order.
Not interested in buying an winery like all those commercials suggest.
Any gift of $18,000 or less to any one person is not taxable.
If you want to give more, you give a gift, and the wife can each give $18,000 separate gifts.
Spread it out over a few years if you plan on giving more than that.
If you combine with your wife or anything more than $18,000, you are required to file a gift tax form 709.
My kids are close to $50k each and I was a co-signer for a lot of it.
Nieces/Nephews I am not sure of the total or how much FJB has forgiven of theirs already.
Here’s my tax tip.
You and your wife each give separate $18,000 gifts to relative A in early December.
Then give the remaining balance to relative A after January 1st. Assuming the timing is convenient.
That way, no tax return is required.
I had to fill out forms just to gift my daughter $5k toward the down payment for the purchase of a Condo.
Given 2 kids, 4 total Nieces/Nephews plus The Teachers 3 kids it would get more complicated quickly.
Was that form for the bank to prove your daughter didn’t have to repay, or for the government (tax tracking).
Believe it was for the bank.
It had to be electronically sent since it was a last minute thing to get the deal done on their end.
DE is here and he might know this – wonder how the government can track giving money to your kids? Now, pretty easy to track big checks, but there’s other ways.
They really can’t, other than the Bank is required to report it to the IRS if it is $10,000 or more. My guess is that the IRS will flag it if it’s more than the $18,000 amount.
So if you want to exceed the amount, take out $1,000 increments in cash, give it away and it’s not reported.
Thanks. That’s what I was thinking.
Yes, no installment debt is a great place to be.
Mortgage tax deduction is one of the few and nice deductions left for many.
Actually, even that is extremely limited now.
A couple filing a joint return needs about $28,000 in itemized deductions to even make it worth the tax filing.
People now need a large mortgage, high property taxes and large donations in order to be able to deduct them.
We have kept track of all of our donations while reducing household goods. Paying off two mortgages will hopefully include a decent amount of tax deductible amounts.
Figure this year is our last, best chance to have a decent amount of itemized deductions.
Actually, paying off the mortgage gives you fewer deductions.
Only the mortgage interest is deductible. If you pay off the mortgages, you have no more interest to deduct.
We barely were able to qualify for itemizing in ’23 and that was with 2 mortgages and lots of medical bills for The Teacher (foot surgery, dental, laser eye surgery, Covid, etc).
Don’t expect to qualify in ’24 unless there is enough to write off with paying 2 mortgages and several large donations.
And if we can manage to qualify in ’24 I suspect it will be the last time for the foreseeable future.
Yep. Sounds about right.
Once our kids hit 25 years old and we lost that deduction, we have been the standard deduction.
Do you know about the amount you need ? Because I was about to give SCMV some bad advise.
I was thinking go get a 250K 15 year mortgage maybe at about 6.25 and get the tax deduction. Then take the money and invest and maybe turn into a positive arbitrage.
Figured he’d have property taxes and some donations.
But as you indicate, this won’t work if standard deduction is higher. Do know property and state taxes limited to 10K – thanks Paul Ryan.
Getin harder and harder to make a buck.
Forget – just reread your post and answer is there. You need 28K in deductions.
The take out a mortgage and invest is definitely a thing with some Financial Planners. It was reasonable advice when the rates were under 3%. Not so sure it’s a good thing at 6.5%. You got to get 10% on the investments for me to try it, and I don’t like the Market at these levels.
The mortgage here is 4.5 years old and it is in the 3% range.
Payment is only about $1,200. Logic says paying it off makes more sense but will wait to talk to a pro with all the info available to him/her.
Can you take payoff amount and invest and get more than 3% – probably. Compared to what amount can you make with the 1200 per month.
The husband of a friend of ours thought that it was better to have a mortgage than to not, because of the tax break. It doesn’t make sense to me to spend $12k to $24k to get back a few hundred dollars in tax money.
We have been mortgage free for the last 6 years or so and it is great. It is surprising how much money you have when you are not paying a mortgage company and a credit card company and paying for kids.
So the husband is not part of your circle?
Interesting.
But I get why he wouldn’t be.
It’s like the “gas app” telling you to drive 100 miles to save .05 a gallon on gasoline.
They are no longer married. I guess I should have said ex-husband.
Your experience mirrors mine, VP. Not going to belabor the gouger vs ditch digger angle but my sniff test (just like the cost of a week’s groceries) of going from having a mortgage and substantial student loan payments, and once those were paid off and those same payments just put into equities/investments … there is absolutely no comparison in wealth growth during those two periods.
Our only debt now is our vehicles. I had planned to have those paid off, but my wife and daughter had accidents so we had to get new cars. I plan on paying both off in the next couple years before I retire and then we will be completely debt free.
When I retired, sold house in VA and bought one in FL. Could pay cash for house but took out a mortgage at 3% and immediately bought a 4.5% certificate for same amount. Made 1.5% and got tax break on mortgage interest.
Safe investment too. Now, wouldn’t have done it just for tax break unless I needed added to get deductions high enough to get beyond standard deduction amount.
Not trying to rain on your parade here, but the 1.5% interest earned is taxable, so it’s likely closer to earning 1% or less. Still saved some.
Worth it????
Unless you bought tax free muni items.
That’s true paid taxes on the 1.5 so it netted down to 1 but the tax break was good.
Now I admit I’m sick of taxes and always looking for things. Especially since the dems give ii all away.
Like the idea of tax free muni’s and might do it for even less money – just tired of taxes.
Yup, I’m in the standard deduction bucket now and would have been with the current SD even when we had a mortgage.
I did figure out what it cost us to put the addition on our shouse. It was about $100 large more than the estimate of 250. Cost of labor and materials is high in our neck of the woods.
I could have done the plumbing and most of the wiring myself but didn’t want the time suck.
Remember when pointing out Joe’s mental state was right wing deep and cheap fakes?
All of these people have been lying to our faces for 3.5 years.
Never Forget.

Amen, brother. It is breathtaking watching the whiplash.
I have laid in a supply of popcorn to watch them, the schadenfreude is delicious.
Republicans and other media people need to go on these networks and flat out ask them why they have been lying to America the last three years.
genuine question and curiosity here…
do you feel like you have found yourself leaning in a different direction than you leaned say…4 years ago? or no…
I thought it was just me his question confused.
Same.
I think he meant politically (US vs Canada)(or…).
Oh, that could be. Don’t they say something about if you don’t vote liberal in college you have no soul and if you don’t vote conservative in adulthood you have no money?
I did vote NDP (way lib) I believe it was 1990 in the only national election that occurred after I turned 18 and before I emigrated to US and could no longer vote in Canada. Then it was a long 12 year hiatus until I became a citizen of the US…and my political inclinations definitely changed during that time. Must have been my damn American wife!
Oh, BTW, one requires ID to vote in Canada, the elections are federally administered. Not some weird province to province BS and wringing of hands about some people don’t have driver’s license or passport.
That’s how I heard it.
I must have no soul. My very first presidential election, I voted for Reagan.
Same. Reagan, Reagan, Bush SR, then Slick Willy when Bush SR raised taxes on me.
Then I went hard core libertarian and have hated all politicians since.
Me too.
Briben is not getting the hint.
‘He should make that decision again’
If he knows what’s good for him.
Not sure he’ll ever get the hint. All the dems saying it’s up to Joe to stay or not.
Reminds me of my Dad and his keeping driving. He was 91 with bad eye sight and still driving. My sister and I tried to get him to stop. He was an adament no of course. Asking the guy that’s over the hill and making him the decision maker is. not a good idea.
So Joe the guy with dimentia, the least capable of making the decision, is the ONE that will make the decision.
Perfect logic.
‘So Joe the guy with dimentia, the least capable of making the decision, is the ONE that will make the decision’
I suspect that Jill and Hunter will make the decision. Those two leeches are the ones ‘advising’ him at the moment.
So Jill loves being the first lady after all those years playing second fiddle, and Hunter needs a pardon, wonder what they will advise?
And Hunters Tax Evasion case is bigger than his Gun Charge was and that trial begins in Sep.
There is just as much evidence and less reason for The Democrud Machine to shield him.
Yeah, pardon is going to be vital for him.
Yeah.
I doubt Jill lets him resign.
If it happens, I expect the delegates to be the ones to do it.
It’s farking hot here today. 104 for a high and dry as a popcorn fart.
Yes, that was me walking my shelterbelt rows chasing grasshoppers away this morning after the turkeys came through munching on the little bastards.
The insecticide concentrate arrives on Saturday from Amerzon. Then boys, it is on.
105 here today, not forecast to get back under 100 till next Wednesday.
Talked to someone back in So Cal yesterday, mentioned the temps and they told me ‘it is still hotter back here’.
Read that Vegas has 5 straight days of 115 and they could see 5 more before it cools slightly.
Once the heat wave reaches the East Coast then it will become a ‘National Emergency’.
Edmonton is baking in it. @I’m surprised they aren’t still playing hockey@
The Metric system.
LOL
Funny, I can still translate that easily.
Do you use the whole 2 and 30 schtick?
I can, but mostly I can still translate temps in the range of habitation back and forth just from memory. I think most Canadians can do so.
The one time I was in Canada, I really had no idea. I mostly just ignored the celcius and km.
32 seems kind of cold to me.
Be thankful you don’t have humidity.
I would die.
The sonographer here from Phoenix loves it, just like a spring day back home.
I chose not to move back east for that very reason. My last visit to Houston for my daughters wedding confirmed that choice in case I had forgotten.
I see that orlando is only 5 degrees warmer than the twin cities today. but yeah, the humidity difference.
I would still move to FL in a minute if I could convince Mrs Surly. But our kids both live in town and she will not ever leave.
Today is fairly moderate for this time of year, but humidity is still high – 95 -96 with max humidity can be brutal. Now, the other eight months of the year are really nice.
Maybe there is still hope for you. My wife hated Florida but as she got older and some joint problems, she now actually enjoys the heat and humidity.
My joints ache with the pressure changes, but it is worse in the winter.
She loves to golf more than I do, and has a cousin that lives in the Villages. We could sell our place in MN, and move there with no mortgage, but I cannot convince her yet. Maybe if her job gets really bad she will consider moving and retiring.
Can play golf 12 months a year and there is no shortage of nice course to play. Know quite a few folks that absolutely love the Villages
Golf versus work – easy choice.
We are going to heat it up here this weekend, too, but I am looking forward to it. Corn should shoot up like the dickens.
Plus, I will get overtime all weekend to spend on my super-grasshopper farm. I need to rebuild it. They all blew west in a wind a couple weeks ago.
dawson county grasshoppers seem to be on steroids too…
never have i seen such big grasshoppers as i have out there
CLIMATE CHANGE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Off to the golf course…catch you fine fellows later.
Have fun smacking it around!
The Dow might break 40,000 again! Inflation is down to 3%, we have the best economy in the world! (Bidenomics…it’s working…..)
‘Inflation is down 3%’
Until they do a post headline ‘adjustment’.
Fortunately, most people don’t pay attention to “financial news”.
They look at their day to day bank accounts.
Housing Market is on the edge teetering.
Some manufacturing sectors are in a recession.
Restaurants are closing.
Regardless if a real recession happens, Stagflation is what we are in.
Been seeing that auto industry is struggling.
They are building high end cars and trucks to get cash to subsides CVs but no one can afford high end cars and trucks so lots are filling up. Used cars that they use to have on the lot are going to low end dealerships or auctions.
No kind of expert but I did sleep at a Holiday Inn Express once or twice.
Yep. Cars too.
I know the Holiday Inn Express is a joke, but I don’t know what that joke is.
Some years ago, a large lodging chain ran a TV commercial depicting an operating room with surgeons and nurses gathered around the patient. One member of the team begins issuing orders on what to do to save the patient. A second asks, “Are you a surgeon?” He replies, “No, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night.”
Well expressed.
Good looking out,
Bit of a bogus stat (sometimes). Inflation up 15%, next reading inflation up 15%, next reading 0%. You’re still paying 30% more than you eere just a feew months ago.
And then food and energy prices aren’t even in the calculation.
Correct.
Take away the most expensive items like food, shelter and energy, and everything is just fine.
Poor LFA is still waiting for DJIA to dip below 20,000 so he can tell his clients, see, I was right!
Let’s hope this happens.
It could.
Could very well happen. Then things will get interesting
Not a bad problem to have.
For sure.
If Sam starts out the season well, I would do everything I could to sign him to a 3 year deal. This way we can trade him at the end of the year, and get something in return.
Some pundit has sort of made this prediction.
They claimed that the Vikings will trade Darnold in November.
Personally, if he is playing really well, and first year in our system, I’m not trading him.
I can see that logic.
Of course if he is doing that well he will be pricy to resign. Not top tier money probably but almost Jets money I would guess.
At some point, they have to turn it over to JJ.
Is Darnold willing to do a year to year deal?
They could keep both for awhile waiting for the inevitable injury or trade one of them in a year or two once they figured out which was the best option long term.
Don’t expect Darnold to be good enough to cause that QB controversy but wouldn’t hate it if it played out that way.
Maybe it’s my conservative nature, and like a bird in hand, why not keep both. Didn’t seem to hurt Love too much sitting around for a couple of years.
Yeah, but if Darnold wants Jets type money, not sure that works for the salary cap.
Given Dsrnold’s past in NFL, would hope he’s not that stupid – but you never know.
#nojinx
They will be fine as long as Bow doesn’t draft one of them in FF.
I predicted he will Case Keenum it up, and I am still hoping for that.
That season with Case is still one of the most improbable things I have witnessed.
It was a lot of fun, all the way up to Philly, at least.
Watched episode 1 of receiver last night.
It was ok. After 30 minutes I was wondering how much longer until it ends.
Not a ringing endorsement…No idea what to watch tonight…no sports on TV make more a difficult viewing night, I suspect a lot of Fox News.
I will probably be more favorable once I get to the episodes with Jets.
Don’t forget Joe’s Big Boy press conference is slated for 5:30 EDT tonight.
Oh, thats right! I hope they get the dosing right this time….too much and he becomes the alert but angry Joe Bidden who can’t control his speaking volume….too little and he becomes the mumbling incoherent Joe Biden.
New bar for Presidents – if he doesn’t fall off the stage and can answer a question with a complete sentence, he passes.
I think FJBs bar is ‘just be better than ‘debate zombie’.
It’s after 4pm EST.
That could be tough as sundowning kicks in.
All dem blue voters in the state sandwiched between the Dakotas and Wisconsin gonna be like, phew, he’s good for another four years, just like a fine wine.
Even a stopped clock is right twice a day.
Hope he does just well enough to stay in the race.
Not well enough to prove he doesn’t have dementia.
Longer he staves off retirement (Hillary’s Hitmen) the better for Trump and worse for the down ballot Democruds.
He could sh*t his pants live, and the blue states will still vote for him.
Correct – he could die on stage and 35% would still vote for him.
True
Yeah maybe, just like DT could murder someone on live TV and his base would still vote for him.
Depends on who he murdered.
That’s funny, really, I did giggle. Not trying to be to political, but what I’m getting at is 70 percent have their mind made up, no matter what. It’ll be the other 30 percent that will decide this election. Screw the left wing radicals and the extreme right. I just hope that we have two new and good choices come 2028.
You might want to pass that thought along to the Rinos and Newcons – seems they are always finding something wrong with Trump.
I actually enjoyed it. Episode 2 is where Jets shows up. So far, Kittle is the most fun to watch. That guy seems like he would be fun to hang out with.
Kittle is definitely an interesting character.
He did the same for Caleb Williams, even has Bears fans thinking they’re going to the SB.
The Crybaby did have a down year after JA left, hence the ‘mommy’s lap’ incident.
Good point.
This Kid Rock observations are Chuck Norris joke-level quality.
Kid Rock makes music for people who know exactly how much Sudafed you can buy at a time…
Kid Rock music is the official soundtrack for copper theft…
One time Kid Rock played on the radio while I was driving and some how I stole my own catalytic converter….
Kid Rock music came on and an electric Sawzall just appeared in my hands like some kind of trailer-trash Excalibur…
I like Kid Rock
I have heard of him.
I understand he performs something akin to music.
“Picture” and “Summertime in Northern Michigan”
Enough said
Those words in quotations mean nothing to me.
These two songs and the fact he should have ended up with Brandi are the only three things I know about Kid Rock.
He has some fun songs. I like his earlier, more bombastic stuff.
Harry Carey couldn’t call my game,
Blankety-blank-blank I’m in the Hall of Fame!
He also is pretty good at shooting Bud light beer with his assault rifle…hard not to respect a man like that.
But didn’t undo all that by drinking it later and shrugging off the questions about his 180?
Yup, was seen wearing a budweiser hat not long ago. After being questioned about it, he said that he’s over it.
it’s amazing how much of a time suck kids can be.
i had was single dadding it for the last 5 days, and when they are my primary focus, it’s crazy how everything else just disappears until i can come back up for air.
did the vikings win the superbowl while i was gone?
Are you trying to say that kids suck?
Lieutenant Colby concurs…
I hope you kept the baseboards wiped clean and the windows free of dust and smudges.
i’m surprised i actually didn’t have a single dirty dish left in the sink AND i kept up on laundry..
You’re the total package.
i have attempted something similar….
the tradition is when it’s bedtime, i piggy back each kid upstairs. well i tried getting all 3 in one trip, i didn’t try to shoulder carry, i will have to give that a go. the kids are only getting heavier now though.
Mrs. Freeze will be as charged up as a brand new battery when she sees how well you kept the house.
Since Surly was up early, a QOTD – will we finally be able to establish a sound running game?
Aaron Jones should help, but I got no clue.
Good rhetorical question.
Yes
Why – how?
Biggest thing is RB upgrade. Next is that somehow, magically, our O line will improve a little.
Do think running back helps some. But if our guards and center continue to allow penetration, not sure RB will matter that much.
No…we will not establish a strong running game.
The most impressive jump is maybe the Buccaneers. They went from bottom rung to near the top in only a couple of decades.
I would at least put “teams that have made it to a super bowl” above Houston and Jax.
Just my opinion.
Yes, I agree.
Yeah, that doesn’t make much sense to run them at that level.
Might even be able to make the case that going to 4 superbowls is better than what the NYJ, Bears and Saints have accomplished.
An interesting list. Like many of these types of things, there’s good and some argumentative items.
One thing this makes me think about – The Packers are always a well run organization, and the Bears and Lions, which are usually trash fires, seemed to have finally gotten there acts together.
Now, where are we at present time – not sure, maybe at. the crossroads.
Good morning, SKOL!

My QOFTD?
How come there is no QOFTD?
QotD:
I am. I can be very lazy at times.
I had not consumed coffee, so make up your own question of the day.
I’m just blabbing.
You are under no obligation to come up with one everyday.
Thank you for putting up a thread every day!
Might actually get measurable rain tomorrow for the first time in 6 weeks.
One can hope.

I am really hungry for a sausage, egg, cheese McMuffin.
Maybe a breakfast burrito, too.
I wonder if I can leave work to go to McDonalds and call it a medical appointment. It is for my wellness, after all.
Interesting burger eating technique she has there.
I was wondering if those skills translates to other things…..
She seems dedicated to the task and even has a line set up for when she finishes the first one.
Bet she is fun/popular at parties.
Just made shredded pork carnitas and eggs.
Love the griddle.
Yum!
Are you doing ok today JacksonVike?
I was just lonely at 6 this morning.
Doing better now I hope?
We got to look out for each other here IMHO.
I woke up at 3AM and could not fall back to sleep. Waited until I thought I could get up without the wife getting to mad (4:30). So I got ready and headed into work, not much else to do in the morning.
