Just checked my Credit Union and low and behold the wire transfer showed up just before the weekend shutdown.
I credit good Karma. Now I can relax and enjoy the weekend without all possible negative outcomes running thru my head.

I am 1/2 way through it. So far, Kittle is my favorite character.

Also, Jimmy G sucks at QB. Part of that was/is coaching, but man, he is bad.

Escrow Company called me to tell me that the Credit Union send the wire transfer back due to wrong account number. They tried to say I gave them the wrong one.
I told them ‘wrong, I gave your office a deposit slip and they copied the account number from that’. Agent I had on the phone said ‘oh, well if you text me a picture of the deposit slip I will make sure we send it again and get it right’.
They have confirmed they resent it now we just have to wait on notification from the Credit Union that they accepted it. It should ‘only take an hour or two’.
I so don’t want this hanging around and stressing me over the weekend.

Just got off the phone with the Credit Union and they stated that it will be 3-4 hours and if it is after office hours then it will be tomorrow morning when it is posted to my account.

Normally my credit union is very helpful when I call with an issue.
This time once I explained the issue the guy actually said ‘and how can I help with that?’. I replied ‘I don’t know, how can you help with that’. grrrr

It will highly likely take longer than that. 9 times out of 10 these days when someone gives me a time estimate, they are wrong/lying. Or they tell me they will call me back – they don’t. Very annoying.

Reminds me of a issue i had with Comcast/Xfinity. Send me a bill that a missed a payment. Pissed off i go in and show them bank statement and picture of cashed check. Had to go in twice. Bottom line, they credited someone else’s account with my money. Staffing issues are getting to point they just suck!

I watched the first 25 minutes of the Big Boy Biden show last night, then I had to turn it off and watch football things.
While Dementia Joe did perform much better than he did at the debate, it was still terrible. Stumbling, rambling statements with no relationship to the question he was asked. Even with reporters names written down ahead of time and given softball questions, he is still showing just how incapable he is.
I would not trust him to make a sandwich without injuring himself, and this is who the Dems pick.

Will continue unpacking and setting the house up. Kitchen, living room, Master BR and office are mostly in place, say 80%. The Teacher plans on working on Master BR closet and bath today while I sort and organize the garage.
Our realtor/friend stopped by last night and took a bunch of empty boxes and packing with her for some other clients, that helped clear some more space in the garage.
Escrow cleared yesterday but no funds arrive at the credit union. Realtor/friend said money wired from Calif always takes a full day to arrive in her experience, so I guess I will checking thru out the day again today.
Sounds like my plan worked, I called the Cali bank and told them I was SoCal, managed to dredge up enough tidbits that they bought my identity, just changed a couple of numbers on the wire.
I’m gonna splurge and have two beers tonight at the Brewery instead of just one!
There should be enough there for more than a 2nd beer.
Heck, maybe enough for a whole 6 pack.
Not for the good stuff though.
Surly, you will have a lot more fun than me this weekend. Saturday I will be working on wedding ceremony plans for my son’s wedding next weekend. They got married during Covid and they are finally doing their celebration. They asked me to officiate. I told them to get me a list of what they wanted. I have just received bits and pieces, so I have to try to get it all organized. Then in the afternoon I have to update all of my shipping matrixes and templates because the USPS is raising rates again. Then in the evening I will be video chatting with the son and DIL about the wedding plans. It’s going to be a long day. I would prefer to be doing yardwork.

Good luck VP – I also got married during Covid (5/9/20) and had to postpone my reception to September of 2021.
I’m sure we will have a good time after I get over the stress of getting prepared. Plus, we have a room in the hotel where the wedding is going on, so if I get sick of all the crowds, I can go take a break.

Just got home from the office, two weeks of vacation ahead… life is good.

I don’t think that I have ever taken a two week vacation as an adult.
I got fired and was off for about a month before my new job.
A couple years ago I was supposed to be done with my old job at the end of June. My wife and I planned a 2 week road trip. The end of job date changed, but we still took our road trip and it ended up being 2.5 weeks long. That was a lot of fun.
Maybe someday soon as retirement looms.
We are thinking about a month long road trip once I retire. We would do it in July when my wife has the month off from teaching. We plan on meandering along seeing sights and visiting family.
The Teacher and I had one of those trips all planned out, Then she had emergency surgery, then the the pandemic showed up, then she had foot surgery and then retirement and now new house to put together.
It is still on hold after 5 years or so, kidlets have moved around, Merica has changed a bit, but we hope get er done, maybe next year.
I’d love to, but not this time. We’re flying to Crete next Wednesday for 10 days, looking very much forward to it.
Over here most people take at least two weeks of paid vacation in the summer, which is nice.
I remember that durning my time in Germany, it was like the place emptied out over the summer.

I have toyed with taking the wife on a cruise around the Greek Islands. You will have to give us a full report when you get back.
I loved visiting Crete. Spent a lot of time at the Souda Bay Naval Air Station during deployments.
I’ve never been there before, visited some other Greek islands many moons ago.
Looking forward to the fine food and bathing in the sea, I love Greek food.
Apparently, the crime goes down in Sweden during the summer months because all of the migrants return to their homeland.
Apparently not all of them. When we were there last summer, my niece-in-law had her purse stolen.
If I weren’t 1/4 Swedish I would accuse you of being racist towards migrants, but of course a Swede would never steal a purse, so carry on.
Only 1/4th? I’m about 40% Swedish and I’ve never stolen a purse. Maybe I should just to stir stuff up.

I read a story about a week ago that crime plummets as migrants head home during the summer. Trying to find it again.
When I was in the Army you were only allowed to take 60 days of accrued vacation days into the New Fiscal Year. One year I just made it and then didn’t take vacation for the first 9 months of the next year. So i was looking at 90 days coming up to the next fiscal year.
My bosses decided that I needed to burn about 60 days to get it down to a manageable level. Went to SB, took some classes at the CC, helped my mom with the big old house, spent some time with a teen cousin who was staying with our grandma for the summer and stressing her out.
Not a bad time but I was perfectly happy to get back to work at Ft Hood.

I will be spending Saturday helping my brother clean up his acreage. He had 5 feet of water in his living room, basement was up to the floor joists. His barn, shop and garage had 4-5 feet of water as well.
