Both Dallas Turner and McCarthy will be signed before camp. I’m sure it’s a contract language and terms thing that will be resolved in the next week. Bryce Young agreed to his contract last year on July 21.
They are just waiting it out to get as much as possible as an up front bonus(my guess).
They are supposed to report to camp next Sunday, so I expect them to sign this week.

Yesterday was a horribly sad day for our country. Shout out to the Secret Service counter-snipers for locating the shooter and putting him down quickly – still curious as to how the shooter got there unnoticed – I have no idea, but I just assumed protocol would dictate a sweep of the area beforehand and likely having a 24/7 rotating patrol until the event started including patrolling potential long-range rifle firing positions. I have no idea the layout or the area or the Secret Service procedure and I’m not second guessing them, just feels like that’s a firing position that would’ve been covered to the point that a shooter couldn’t get up there.
Still a sad day, one of the darkest in our country’s history in my lifetime.

A guy just walked up to the front door to ask about Taco-ma.
He said ‘I was just driving by, saw the Toyota and wanted to ask if you were interested in selling as I love those trucks’.
I wouldn’t be interested in selling in this market no matter what. But that 4WD, Crew Cab, Long Bed truck is running like a champ. Made it up here from Calif, over 12 hrs of constant driving (2 stops for gas) in 110+ degree heat with nary an issue. Nope, it’s a keeper.

Realtor/Broker that bought the Calif House sent us a huge fruit basket to celebrate the Escrow closing.
Strawberries (both chocolate covered and not), cut up cantaloupe, honeydew melon, pineapple, oranges, etc. We will be eating fruit with most meals until we get thru them or they start to turn.
You all so be grateful that this interweb thingie doesn’t transmit smells. I suspect I will be worse than FJB for awhile.

Her and her contractor husband said they plan to spend $100k on upgrading and modernizing it and listing it for $140k more than they paid me for it.
They are welcome to it, they have the expertise to make it work while would be a struggle for me as that is not in my wheelhouse.
Golf was fun. Played 9 holes, and was very proud of myself that I had not lost a ball through 8. Promptly topped my driver into the creek on 9, and ended up with a 7 on that par 4 to end the day with a 47.
Came home and made Smashburgers. I am better at that than I am at golf.
I would take Smashburgers over golf every day of the week, and twice on Sat, as well.
Inflation is not a problem. In January of 2021 the price to ship a 1 pound media mail package via USPS was $2.89. As of tomorrow the price will be $4.63. 60% increase in 3.5 years. That’s not a problem at all. BTW, if you buy a book from me today the price will be 50 cents more than yesterday so I can cover the postage increase.
A lot of inflation kind of sneaks up on you and you may not notice small increases.
Then every once in awhile you get smacked with some realization of how bad it is.
When we get groceries it is normally at The Commissary with occasional visits to Costco or Sams (which they don’t have in Idaho we have learned). But we made a stop at an Albertsons since we needed a few things and it was close a few weeks ago.
Dang stuff has gotten expensive since we were last there. We have even curtailed our visits to Trader Joes and there is a few things The Teacher likes there and you can still find deals, veggies are reasonable there.
USPS is raising cost of stamps another 5 cents. 6 times in 2 years. Read it’s not going to increase revenue cuz commercial people will cut back services. USPS gains next to nothing. People effed? Yes, the average American. Again.
We only mail a couple of things a month, will be even less now with the move.
Peoples who’s business relies on the mail may have to find a cheaper way to ship things.
Glad I switched to e-gift cards for Christmas a few years ago, cheaper and I can procrastinate much longer with those.
Still pay bills on paper. Most companies want personal info so they can automatic withdrawal. Then you get a email or letter saying there has been a data breach with personal info. Between that and scammers this world is becoming a joke. Among a 100 other reasons.

I avoid automatic withdrawal but The Teacher is more comfortable with it. I managed the Calif house since I had it before I met her and she managed the Idaho House to split the workload.
Now that the Calif house is gone so are the mortgage payment and utilities and what not. So less things to mail.

When I was much younger I would buy football magazines in the off season so I could read people’s projections. That would possibly give me hope when they ranked the Vikings near the top. As I have aged I have realized that the people doing these rankings really aren’t any smarter than I am, and their projections are mostly hokum.
Yeah VP, me too. I put no stock in this, because as you say, they don’t know anymore than the rest of us. I would be ecstatic though if the Vikings O-line was this good.

Chuck Foreman is ranked #8. I loved watching him. He brought a whole new versatility to the RB position in the 70s.
I would quibble with a few names, not that they were not great Vikings just that there are others that I would prefer.
At least they got #1 right.
I agree with 90% of this list…..
Except for Keith Millard.
I fondly remember his 1989 DMVP Season – capped by beating the Bengals on MNF the same night that Billy Martin died – and I know injuries robbed his career but I would’ve replaced Millard with Studwell or Doleman. Studwell is the Vikes all time leader in tackles and Doleman is in the HoF.
Could also make arguments for Harrison Smith and AP.

Not sure Chuck Foreman is a better choice than Bill Brown or Robert Smith.
All solid choices mind you, but don’t know if Chuck is the best one.
Going off memory only I would agree Foreman is the best choice of the three. Brown more or less was a straight ahead runner that ran over people, Smith was an elusive runner with speed that out ran people when got got a cleat path, but didn’t play for all that many years if I am remembering correctly, while Foreman was a physical runner who was also good at evading tackles (with his spin move). Bob Lurtsema should be an honorable mention.
Agree Foreman was a good choice. Versatile and tough and a legit 3 down back. Led the league in receptions as a RB. Bonus points that his son Jay played LB @ NU in the 90’s and he wore #44 in honor of his old man. Played on 3 National Championship teams. My buddy from high school got a job as a student manager and introduced me and my roommates to Jay when I got to Lincoln in ‘97 and he would frequently come over on Sunday nights and play cards. I never met Chuck, but I learned how to play Spades from Jay.
At first I was going to scoff at your assertion that Chuck got ‘Bonus Points’ for his sons accomplishments.
But upon further reflections I realized that I give Alan Page ‘bonus points’ for being a Minn Supreme Court Justice post football career.
So I suspect that some consideration has to be allowed but of course those ‘Bonus Points’ would be lessened by being one generation removed.
