I think KOC knows it’s important to get Sam Darnold going in the very first game. If I was developing the game plan, I’d work on quick outs, and slants first, as well as screens. Give Sam some easy completions, and don’t force him to hold onto the ball, waiting on long developing plays.

I think the same thing. High percentage throws that build his confidence and move the sticks. Keep him upright. He can move pretty good – roll the pocket and give him clean lanes to throw. Maybe a shot play and a go ball to JJ with the right coverage look. Be nice to give him a competent running game and adequate blocking, especially the IOL.

You think people were crazy during Covid. I came across a general medical book for the home from 1917. In it was a typed up sheet for: Directions for Care of Communicable Disease in the Home.

The person should be put in a room far from everyone else. All furniture, drapes, carpet that isn’t attached should be removed from the room. The attendant shouldn’t mingle with the rest of the family. All discharges from the nose and throat should be received by some cheap material and promptly burned. All discharges from the bladder and intestines should be received in a vessel and carefully disposed of. The vessel should be cleaned 4 times per day with soap and disinfectant. All dishes used by the sick should not be used by the rest of the family.

Then when the disease is over there are directions for clean the home:

Open all doors and windows and air the house for 4 consecutive days. All curtains and drapes that are not perishable should be washed. If they can not be washed they should be exposed to sun and fresh air for 4 consecutive days. Carpets should be cleaned and aired. The linens from the bed should be boiled for one hour before washing. The mattress and pillows, if not soiled, should be sunned and aired for 4 consecutive days. If soiled, they must be burned. Comforts and blankets shall be washed. All walls and woodwork of the room should be painted and papered if possible or they must be washed with hot soap suds containing one pound of common washing soda to three gallons of water. Basements shall be aired.

Problem was we didn’t adjust well once facts became know.
Those in power decided that they liked the extra authority that the over reactions gave them so they came up with excuses and suppressed ‘science’ that argued for lowering the over reaction.

They are ‘helping’ everyone to give more money to the government.

They now have ‘flex’ billing for energy. If you cool your home at night it will cost you less per kilowatt than if you cool it during day. That way they jack the daytime cost up and say that the ‘average cost’ hasn’t gone up very much.

DE Viking

There is, but not a practical one.
Given that Rubio was a Senator representing Florida, he would have to immediately resign his Senate seat, and move out of State.
Or Trump would have to move out of Florida.

Enter Gavin Newsome.
He can’t move out of California because he is the sitting Governor.
He would have to resign and move out of California.

Treating people with dignity is absolutely how you should conduct yourself, however, referring to the Secretary Of Defense as “the black man” does not accomplish that, it minimizes him to the color of his skin and diminishes any actual accomplishments and qualifications he has for the position. He is highly qualified for the position, he’s been a veteran for almost 50 years, but Biden reduced him to nothing but his race, which is pathetic.

JR, that’s not quite correct. In 1947, Congress passed a law that anyone vying for the SECDEF position, had to have been out of the military for at least 10 years. Then in 2008, they reduced that to 7 years. When Trump wanted James Mattis for his SECDEF, he had only been retired from the military for 3 years. His eligibility for this position was contingent upon the granting of a congressional waiver, as, as I mentioned, amendments to the National Security Act prohibited active-duty commissioned officers from serving as defense secretary for a period of seven years after their retirement.

Not sure why you say he is highly qualified. SecDef is to establish policy and the military is run by the chairman JCS.
I don’t care about this one way or another, but if you go back ( about 2015 I think) and review his testimony with Sen McCain on middle east ‘policy,’ you might find it interesting.
And as I remember, could be wrong, but believe he was the General that spent $500million and trained 50 Syrian fighters – quite an investigation into that as well.
again as far as I know, he may be a very fine man.

I won’t quibble about his ‘qualifications’, as retired Army I am glad to see someone who served in the job.
I have issues with him drinking the woke cool aid and deciding that pronouns are more important than lethality for the military.

And yes I get that he was ‘following orders’ from the Commander and Chief. That just makes it clean that keeping his job was more important than making the Military the best it could be.

You know really how he got this job. Biden’s son Beau was a lawyer on Austin’s staff in Irag and Lloyd and Beau went to mass together every Sunday.
Not the complete reason, but who you know works well in Washington.

The TDS types are getting more and more unhinged, can we get a vaccine for that?

so went on a little rabbit trail this morning and found out that wasps are essentially a $750BILLION industry…

The economic value of their pollination services to agriculture alone is valued at greater than $250 billion per year worldwide. But wasps are also top predators of crop-damaging insects like aphids, and their value as crop protectors is worth at least $416 billion annually worldwide.

I shot at a wasp nest in the peak of a granary roof as a kid with a BB gun. Wasp nest was a good 20 feet up. I was probably 20 feet from the base of the building.

Hit the nest. A wasp came out. Hovered for about five seconds, then boom. He came right at me and stung me in the neck.

It was amazing how it identified I was the problem that quickly and effectively.

This week we had to have an exterminator to kill a nest of black wasps. They kept attacking and stinging me. They went ahead and also killed a nest of the normal brown ones that was also there last year, but they minded their own business. Exterminator said the black ones were known for being very aggressive. Son in law could have taken care of it, but we’re trying to give him a break, he’s already helped us so much.

The bullet wasn’t actually even close. He had one of the Secret Service people cut his ear one the ground. That’s why there hasn’t been any medical report released. Plus, a bullet would completely rip his ear off and probably fracture his skull from the concussion, at least if you believe the same experts that think guns should be outlawed.

The only ones that show FJB close are the National Popularity Polls where they take a larger sampling of Californians and New Yorkers.

It is the ‘Likely Voters’ in battle ground states that matter. Those are the ones that have the Democruds scared and scrambling to replace Brandon.

Trump is a showman. Always has been. So I do understand the thinking about him staging some things.

He exaggerates all of the time. “It was the greatest economy in our history”.
I doubt it was. These are things that I dislike about him.

But taking it to the next level that everything he does is staged is hilarious to me.

Does your friend think the whole Biden presidency is staged or is everything he does on the up and up?

I woke up to see my wife spent $1,100 on Amazon last night.

What is the biggest bill your wife has ever gifted you with unexpectedly?

She ordered a standing desk and office chair, plus other assorted items.

Meanwhile, I have been sitting with a pair of running shoes in the cart for a month at a $100, wondering if I should pull the trigger on that amount…

Generally, she is not too bad, but she blows a lot of moola on “health” foods/supplements, etc.

From my perspective, it looks like she is trying to “cure” age. It’s a losing battle. Seaweed essence from the waters of the Saragasso Sea is not going to magically make joint pain go away.

I prefer to age gracefully. There are going to be ups and downs. Somethings I can fix. Somethings I will have to live with.

Money well spent on a gap wedge – valuable club to have.
Been around the world for a while and been married for a while. Finally after years of frustration simply learned to accept women are different and nothing I say or do will change that.
So what I don’t know doesn’t hurt me And we’re happy.
Now, this works both ways. She thinks I watch sports too much, but accepts I am going to do this.

I was in this same space with my wife.
It took her years to realize she was spending too much.
Now, as long as our “operating” account that is used for bills and daily stuff is not negative every two weeks, I am good with that. We/I am saving money before it hits that account.

Women definitely see money differently.
My experience is that most women are smarter with money than men.
But not in my personal situation. Go figure.

To me ‘not spending lots of money’ equates to making more of it.
The Teacher needs her ‘shopping therapy’, I call her ‘The Amazon Queen’.

I think she got a wake up call when we had to organize for the move. She had so much crap squirreled away that a lot had to be donated and some was tossed out. Even I was amazed at how much was stashed under beds, in closets, in the back of drawers/cupboards.

Lots of scented candles, lotions, knickknacks, etc. I get that teaching is stressful and it was, in part, a way to distract from all that. She makes her own money and pays her share of the bills and still saves some. She can buy what she wants/needs.

I get that she comes to answers differently than I do. It doesn’t make her answers less valid than mine, sometimes hers are better. She adds so much to the partnership that it would be dumb of me to try to change her. She is better than some stuff than I am, thankfully.
